My whole experience with this caterer was extremely disappointing to say the least. We were strung along, never a priority, and snubbed at the last minute. To begin with, it took me roughly a month and a half to even get in contact with them ab...out catering for our wedding. Starting early in January, after several phone calls, two messages, and two emails they only got back to us on February 14th. At this point, my fiancée and I both still really felt like the menu and service they were offering would have been perfect for our wedding, and so we were willing to overlook the issues getting in contact, assuming that it was probably because they were just very busy. We emailed them back promptly and received an email two days later assuring that they would have an estimate to us the next day. Four days later, no estimate; so we inquired politely, asking if there was any information they still needed. They got back to us the same day, they were just late with the estimate. We looked over everything, decided to make a few alterations and replied to them the very next day requesting the changes. They replied back that the changes would bring us too far below a minimum cost requirement for the season (something we never saw on their website and we were never informed of beforehand). We understood, and replied to them the same day that we still wanted their services, and wanted to make a few more changes so we could be within budget requirements. This was on February 22nd. Five days later, no reply. So, we emailed them again, politely asking if there was any more information they needed or anything we could do to help. A week after we emailed them again (now over a week and a half since their last reply), and still nothing. At this point, it's March 6th, we've been trying to figure things out with the caterer since early January, and not having the caterer pinned down is holding up other things we need to start planning . So, we called them, only to be told that another (larger) party had contacted them about the same date after they had already begun discussing our event, AFTER we had already been sent the estimate and AFTER we had asked for the changes to be made so we could be within their minimum cost and we could finalize. They had PURPOSEFULLY put off replying just so they could see how arrangements would pan out with a larger event for the same day. Inevitably, the larger party booked and payed their deposit.
I would like to point out that we understand wanting to book a larger party; from a business standpoint it makes sense. HOWEVER, this larger party was given PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT, to the extent that we were cut-off from contact with the caterer, and made the back up plan just in case they couldn't book the better paying event. This would have been different if they had heard from the other party before they began contact with us on February 14th, or even if they had been in contact with them roughly at the same time, but this other party made contact WELL after we had been in arrangements with the caterer. Despite our best efforts, prompt replies and willingness to work with the caterer, it is obvious now that we were never their priority. Any contact we had over the phone seemed hurried and dismissive, and their inability to maintain reliable dialogue, as well as their incredibly rude and discourteous behavior in blowing us off at the last minute without any warning tells me that they don't know how to handle their customers.
