My husband and I got married there December 19th 1997 it was so beautiful it was at night the Ambiance of the room was elegant was the happiest day of my life
The most beautiful venue that quite was very accommodating to our 100 guests. Only a few minor snags but it wasn't anything I didn't anticipate when it came to planning our wedding in six months. I couldn't have been happier.
Victoria and the rest of the planners and crew at our reception were true servants who helped us all along the way during the planning process, keeping us on track, informing us of what we needed, and always prompt to answer any questions. On our reception event, the planners and the cleaning crew served with joy and professionalism. They made the process and the event better than we could've expected! Definitely recommend! And the Chapel is so stunning that you don't need too much decor to make the space beautiful!
We were thrilled with our experience with Glass Chapel! Our daughter's wedding was amazing, beautiful and flowed so well. Victoria and the staff at Glass Chapel are top notch. It was a dream come true!!
Not only was I in love with the venue, the staff was amazing my wedding day went so smooth! They made everything so easy, I would highly recommend them to anyone!
I have only great things to say about Tarp Chapel & Gardens! It was basically my dream venue, and all the employees were so friendly and extremely helpful. I would recommend this venue to anyone!
The Glass Chapel was amazing!! I loved everything about the chapel and the reception hall. They helped make our day the best day of our lives.
I love Glass Chapel (formerly Tarp). It is a beautiful chapel and has a gorgeous reception room and wonderful grounds around it. Overall, it was a dream place. A few things I wasn't a fan of-- they tried to overcharge us on our last payment; thankfully, we kept good records and were able to catch it before we paid it. Also, you have a few consultations with them where they ask you detailed info and then it's like you never told them some of those things on the day of. There were several things that just flat out weren't done that we told them. And they were things the chapel staff asked us in our final consultation... such as letting our guests go ahead and eat while we finished pictures after the ceremony... 20 minutes into pictures, the wedding coordinator comes into the chapel and asks if she can start the buffet line- that was talked about and written on our sheets, but it was with a different staff member so the lack of communication between members of their staff really showed. Also, we paid for draping and when we arrived at our scheduled time, it hadn't been done yet. My mom kept mentioning it to them 2 days before the wedding. It wasn't put up until 3 hours before the ceremony- not a huge deal, but a stress when you're the bride and it's the day of and already your rental time and those things aren't done. We had all our breakables out in the reception hall and were nervous for them to do the draping at that point. Among all of these things, I must say there will be issues and lack in communication anywhere you go. In the big picture, Glass Chapel was a beautiful pick and there were also many perks, such as them handling all the catering for you- they also give you the vendors to go to that are really good (for cake, flowers, etc) and they handle the linens for you. They also give you a ceremony coordinator that helps organize your ceremony and that really helped us- she told everyone when to walk down the aisle, how to walk, where to stand- very helpful! They were very gracious to let us come in and store items in the back a couple of days before the wedding. They really helped manage our stress 1-2 days before wedding by allowing us to do a little prep work, as well.
My husband and I were a little overwhelmed with everything we needed to accomplish when we began planning our out of state wedding a year ago. Glass Chapel's packages made planning from Kansas City very simple and easy. We saved a lot of money working with their staff (planner, coordinator, etc.), caters, and having all the linens and some decor provided through the venue. Everyone was very attentive the day of, and in the months prior to the wedding. I really loved working with and getting to know each of them. Glass Chapel's openness was also part of it's appeal. They took no issue with us having a nontraditional ceremony and writing our own vows, an issue that we had encountered in other venues. They always treated us with professionalism and warmth during every visit.
Aside from their convenience, hospitality, and professionalism, Glass Chapel is also a truly beautiful venue. We wanted a secluded wooded location for our wedding, however, early on we knew we were going to have to find a venue in the city, due to our elderly grandparents. Both the Chapel and surrounding grounds provided the perfect intimate wooded backdrop, but with a convenient location and easy accessibility.
Glass Chapel truly was the perfect venue for our wedding. It was romantic, intimate, and warm. I cannot imagine having chosen a more fitting place to have spent our most special day.
The loveliest venue with the kindest owners.
We loved this place. The staff is very nice and the Chapel is absolutely gorgeous. I wish i could include a picture. My only complaint would be how strict they are. We had our reception at a separate venue to save cost and to be able to use the other vendors we liked. You have to use the vendors they are contracted with for the catering, bartender, cake, and I think the flowers too. They did go under new ownership shortly before our event so this may have changed. It really is the most beautiful chapel and made for amazing pictures. So glad we chose this venue.

Tarp chapel & Gardens was a beautiful venue for my ceremony and reception. The staff was helpful, however you need to be precise and forceful with what you want, otherwise they will have the setup the way they want it.
Everyone at Tarp was great! The chapel has glass windows all around, so it was like having an inside wedding outside. I used the wedding package, which worked great for me since I'm an RN who works the graveyard shift. Sheila with Serving Hands did an amazing job with the flowers and catering. Highly recommend Tarp if you're planning on having a smaller wedding and don't have much time to do planning yourself :)
Our wedding was absolutely beautiful largely due to Tarp's gorgeous location however we felt a bit nickled and dimed at times and the customer service could use some work. For example, I wasn't able to take my bridal pictures on the grounds without paying $50/hr. extra (another couple hundred if I didn't have my own photographer). In essence, the rental fee - about $2,300 for us - didn't seem to include much save the physical rental of the building itself. Everything else was extra. When we'd call or have a meeting before the wedding, the chapel staff seemed rather short and not super friendly. Although they were eventually corrected, there were several mistakes on our rental contract regarding times and services requested. Other than that, our dealings with Tarp Chapel were pleasant.
We all loved the atmosphere and setting that this chapel offers. It's a great place and very convenient. The staff made sure all the details were perfect.
I had a night wedding at Tarp Chapel & thought it was gorgeous. What I did not like about it was how strict they are on their time limits. It is so stressful that it is almost not worth getting married there. You also have to use their catering services there & the food is not all that good.
