We booked the Bridge House at Glen Oaks for our wedding and it definitely did not disappoint! The Bridge House is absolutely stunning - aesthetically designed, with a fully loaded kitchen, sauna, fireplace, and many more amenities - all tucked away in a private corner of Glen Oaks that lets you be fully immersed in the redwoods. By booking the Bridge House, we also got access to the Fairy Ring right outside the Bridge House for our ceremony site. The Fairy Ring is a circle of tall, towering redwood trees, and this creates a private and intimate setting within the ring of trees to be married in - exactly what we wanted.
We worked with Ivy to coordinate our wedding arrangements at Glen Oaks, and she was wonderful to work with. She clearly answered the many questions that we had, and helped make sure all the arrangements we needed on the day of the wedding were in place. Chairs for our guests at the ceremony site were all setup well ahead of time, and refreshments for after the ceremony were also provided and discreetly setup by the staff as well. Ivy was great at communicating all the info we needed to know prior to our wedding, and even helped resolve some unexpected last minute room booking issues swiftly.
Overall we had a wonderful experience having our wedding at Glen Oaks and would definitely recommend it for couples that are looking for an intimate venue tucked away in the heart of Big Sur. Everything went smoothly, and all the staff we met at Glen Oaks were all helpful in getting us setup and checking in to make sure we were comfortable and that all was well. We'll definitely be back in the future to visit again!
Glen Oaks made our day truly magical! We stayed in the Bridge House, as well as rented the adjacent container cabins, and had the most lovely, unplugged, secluded, and comfortable time. The house is spacious and cozy, nestled in the surrounding redwoods. The photos on the website don't do it justice, and have had upgrades since they were taken. A few of my favorite aspects of the house were the bathroom skylight views into the trees, heated floors, a sauna, and the fire pit. We also rented the adjacent fairy circle (a ring of redwoods) which made for a great ceremony spot. In order to have our wedding here we communicated with Ivy (the property's wedding/event coordinator) and she was very responsive and helpful amid planning. The front desk staff were nice and accommodating. As expected in Big Sur, cell phone service is very spotty and can make it challenging to communicate directions to the Bridge House. We were able to meet the morning of our check-in with Gama (maintenance manager) to walk us to the fairy circle and discuss seating layout. He also took the time to walk us through the property and show where the additional parking for our guests would be. Wifi signal is strong around the house which was definitely helpful day-of to help navigate guests to the house. Thank you to Ivy, Gama, and Glen Oaks team - our stay was incredible and we will be visiting again!

Had a great time working here as videographers! Coordinator was communicative and very friendly. Can't wait to return!
Beautiful spot that God created. We booked this location through Ivy the event coordinator for the Redwood Grove site in Glen Oaks. She did a fairly good job with communicating but when it came to the actual day...that was awful! She is not on site, no one was around, my daughter had to get in her wedding dress in the Chevron bathroom, we could not find the actual site since we were only there once a few months before, wasted valuable time trying to figure all this out which cut into our photography time that we had booked, which caused us to miss out on certain shots we wanted to have taken at the beach, thanks alot. The "bartender" that was there to set up our drink table missed the fact that we had the location between certain times and decided to pack up early, when confronted he said I was mistaken and should read my contract when in fact he was the one that was incorrect. On top of that this bartender was dressed in dirty jeans a hat and a not so nice t shirt, just what you want to see at your wedding...glad we didnt pay $$ to have him pop the cork off champagne he definitely was not dressed to represent. He did not introduce himself as help but instead kind of lurked around, we had no idea who he was until he started packing up the drinks! There was not one person there to say oh hey welcome let us know if you need anything and let me direct you to your wedding site. NO ONE .... you pay $3000. for no one to be there to guide you. What a disgrace, shame on you.
My now-husband and I drove through Big Sur the day after getting engaged, and when we found Glen Oaks, we knew right away we wanted to get married there. We looked at and spoke with many venues in the Monterey/Big Sur area before we made a final decision, but no place came close to our vision the way this one did.
We had our wedding in November 2017, on a weekday. We rented the Redwood Grove for our ceremony and the Back Patio for our reception. In terms of staff, we worked with Elizabeth for the first several months of wedding planning, and then Melissa took over for the last few weeks. Melissa was our point of contact for the day of the wedding, as well.
The venue is incredibly beautiful. The redwood grove is spacious and would accommodate a lot of different seating arrangements. During the dozen or so times we visited the site prior to our wedding, what always struck us was how peaceful and serene the area feels. The landscaping is kept up beautifully, but left kind of wild-looking, so it truly feels like magical forest. The back patio is a perfect space for a small-to-medium wedding (we had 30 guests and were very comfortable). We loved how the patio felt integrated with the nature around it, rather than separated.
Melissa was incredibly helpful during the hectic last few weeks before the wedding. She was patient with our many questions, even during a day-before “crisis” when we weren’t sure if we would need to move inside due to weather issues. She worked with our coordinator to work through set-up and timing. We appreciated that she was calm and approachable, but to-the-point and efficient. She sent us a lovely follow-up note after our wedding to wish us well and make sure we were happy.
We also stayed in one of the cabins the night before & the night of. We picked the Sycamore cabin and I never wanted to leave it. It was immaculately clean, aesthetically beautiful, and comfortable. It made a perfect getting-ready space before the wedding, and the perfect post-wedding relaxation space. We will definitely be going back to stay there in the future.
If you’re looking for a venue that has a secluded and intimate feel, beautiful views of nature, and a calm, serene vibe, this is most definitely a place to check out. This was our dream wedding venue and we couldn’t be happier with our choice.
