Glendalough Manor is a beautiful location for a wedding. We wanted an outdoor wedding and the gardens were beautiful. Their online portal was easy to use during the planning process. We booked Glendalough for ceremony only from 3pm to 6pm. After a beautiful and stress free ceremony, we ran into an issue. We were starting our photos under the arch when suddenly we were told we had to rush and move as their was a rehearsal booked in that area for 5pm. We planned for all our photos to be taken after the ceremony and were told on multiple occasions that we would have access to any part of the grounds to do so. We had to stop our photos and move everyone to a separate location while a rehearsal started in the ceremony area. Because of the delay, the photos took longer and we were charged extra from our photographer who also felt very rushed and stressed. There was no one around to help manage this and when we spoke to them about it after they said "the bride and groom did not rent the facility or exclusive use of it" even though we had booked from 3pm to 6pm and were told we'd have full access in both the initial meeting and 72 hour meeting when we discussed photos. While we were able to get our photos over by the trees, this was not the plan and we felt very rushed, stressed and were unable to finish taking photos in the area where we had set up all of our flowers. We were not told beforehand that they had booked a rehearsal during our time block and felt that it was unprofessional for them to do so. While this is a beautiful location to get married, make sure you get clarification of what will be made available to you and for notification in the event they double book.
Glendalough Manor in one word is EVERYTHING! From the beginning of the process of the planning to our big day, everything was smooth and organized. Jena was amazing! The day was so beautiful. The venue is gorgeous! We had our cermony outside in the gardens. We didn't need any decor outside because the grounds are that beautiful. It's a one stop shop food, drinks, etc. It was so simple and easy! Which I appreciate the most because that was one less thing I had to focus on during my planning 😊 If you are looking for a beauftiful and organized venue do yourself a favor and book Glendalough Manor!
We traveled through two states to visit venues. We selected Glendalough after a tour with Amy Leuenberger and the all-inclusive packet offered. She was forthright and accommodating and made us feel comfortable with our choice. The venue is lovely with splendid grounds. We were excited about the full-service facility and the complimentary wedding team dedicated to taking care of planning details and executing a flawless event.
The first issue was getting the venue’s a preferred vendor quote uploaded to the portal for approval. After a week and several emails to Jena Marullo (the event coordinator and a co-owner) it was finally uploaded and approved. We hoped this was not a sign of things to come.
At our menu-tasting event, Marullo was not very personable, a factor which caused immediate concern for our day. She failed to introduce herself before directing us to the tasting location, and we had to ask her, “Are you Jena Marullo?” She finally warmed up after she brought out the food.
We know it is not unusual for things to go wrong at a wedding, but so many of ours seemed to surround one person: Marullo. Some issues that became concerns for our day:
• The lady's restroom was at the farthest distance from the bridal dressing suite, across an open stairway and visible to the downstairs hallway and front door where guests entered. Strangely, the men's restroom was immediately outside the bridal suite.
• We were told the pavilion restrooms would be operational for the ceremony, first during the six-month meeting (with Leuenberger) and again during the 30-day (with Marullo) meetings. They were not, and that seemed unreasonable for a prestigious venue.
• During the same meetings, we were told there would be flowers in the garden for our ceremony; there were not. When the day before we inquired when the flowers would be placed, we were told there would be no flowers. We had to scramble to purchase and stage flowers the day before the ceremony.
• Pursuant to the contract, the venue was to provide the table numbers. Initially, they did not; just minutes before the ceremony, our family liaison had to formally request the numbers to be placed on the tables.
• Pursuant to the contract, the Day-of Coordinator (Marullo) did not manage the pre-and post-ceremony photography. As a result, important photos — such as those of the Groom's family — were missed.
• Announcement of the wedding party in the reception hall was delayed for more than 10 minutes. The Groom looked for someone to direct the DJ for the announcement.
• Owing to a staff shortage, the Event Director was also the bartender, the cart driver, and more. Our seniors were left waiting for conveyance from the garden up to the venue hall; the first dance was done toward the end of the reception instead of the beginning; and our family liaison served as an ad hoc wedding coordinator, welcoming guests and showing them to their tables.
Despite the staff shortage, Marullo departed, telling our family coordinator, "I'm out of here, and it's all yours now.” For a co-owner, it was highly unprofessional in many ways.
Fortunately, the food was delicious, hot, and well-presented. The reception staff were professional and helpful. Considering that the Event Director — James — was wearing many hats, he helped prevent situations from becoming a disaster. He went above and beyond to make up for the shortfalls and shortages as best as possible while keeping a professional attitude and courteous demeanor.
Thanks to Jena and the rest of the staff my wedding turned out AMZING! I was so worried that something would go wrong but Jena assured me that everything would be taken care of and I wouldn’t have to worry about anything. Couldn’t my wedding any more perfect than it already was!
I enjoyed our wedding here at the Glendalough Manor. I must say I was impressed with how easy it was to coordination and plan my wedding. STRESSLESS is the word I would when it comes to coordinating with their experienced and compassionate team.
We had our wedding at Glendalough on 9/25/21 and it was absolutely perfect! Their pergola area is stunning for ceremonies, the grounds make for amazing backdrops for photos, and the ballrooms are perfect for the reception. Jena and the rest of the team are super helpful from the day we had our tour, right up until our departure on wedding day. They've been doing this for so long that they're such a well-oiled machine and everything ran so smoothly on wedding day. It was also so easy not to have to worry about separate catering and alcohol vendors since they do it all in house. If you're looking for a one-stop-shop wedding venue, I would definitely recommend Glendalough!
Glendalough Manor is a beautiful venue with picturesque views for photo backgrounds. We were blessed to have two beautiful days for our wedding and reception which created some unforgettable photos that we’ll cherish forever. All of the guests loved this venue with many commenting on how they felt they were in the European countryside. :)
We started working with Amy in the Fall of 2019 for our May 2020 wedding, but when Covid shut society down, we decided to postpone our wedding. The staff was very accommodating given the pandemic, and we ultimately ended up having a small, outdoor wedding ceremony last October and recently had our indoor Reception on 9/5/21. Although we are still in the midst of another surge in the pandemic, Glendalough helped us plan the reception while keeping safety first. We decided to only accommodate vaccinated guests and asked everyone to wear masks when they weren’t eating or drinking. The staff at Glendalough wore masks during the event and everyone felt safe while having fun.
A Few Words on the The Not So Great Parts: Even though there is a ceremony coordinator and a reception coordinator, I would still recommend hiring a personal wedding coordinator to work with the Glendalough staff. The ceremony went smoothly (although I felt a bit rushed). However, the coordination of the Reception was a little disheveled...First, there was some miscommunication about the 72 hour meeting and we ended up doing it without the scheduled coordinator. I’d recommend using calendar invitations for future clients to eliminate confusion. Second, I didn’t meet the reception coordinator until about 5 minutes before the Reception was about to start and she seemed unfamiliar with the timeline and technology needed for the event. Due to some technology/internet issues at Glendalough, we weren’t able to get the reception started on time or with the planned introduction. However, I still think both of the ladies working on the reception did everything they could to make it as smooth as possible for the rest of the night and I appreciate them.
The food was excellent and our guests loved the premium open bar. I heard from guests that the bartender didn’t seem to be in the best mood and left for about 10-15 min during a busy time, but outside of that the guests loved going back and forth to the bar and thought it was a fun concept.
I would highly recommend Glendalough to other couples and families because of the welcoming ambience, beautifully manicured outdoor areas, classic indoor reception rooms, and also because of the wonderful and understanding service received while planning a wedding during the pandemic (huge shout out to Amy)!
I got married here almost a month ago and we are still amazed at how great our wedding day was! Our ceremony took place in the beautiful garden. Guests sat comfortably under the pergola and enjoyed the view of the chapel and pond. DJ Perfect provided microphones and speakers to be sure everyone could hear. The reception was in the wicklow ballroom. Ciao Bella Weddings did an amazing job decorating with the fresh flower centerpieces, uplighting, and drapery! The food was delicious and people really enjoyed the full service bar. The tahitian dream cake flavor from Perfect Wedding Cake was a hot topic! DJ Perfect kept guests on the dance floor! We really enjoyed being able to do a sparkler exit with our guests. I'm sure it made for some great photo opportunities. It was great working with Taun Henderson Photography. They made sure to capture all of the highlights and grabbed my husband and I for more outside pictures during the ceremony. I'm also looking forward to the pre-ceremony pictures we took in the spacious bridal suite. It's a perfect area for getting dressed, makeup touch ups, etc. Overall, our experience was unforgettable! Some guests say it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. Thank you to Jena and her assistant Garbrielle for all of their hard work! We appreciate your help in making our day special!
We first booked Glendalough in January 2019 for our wedding in June 2020—of course, we ended up postponing a full year for pandemic reasons. That meant we ended up working with Glendalough—and Jena, the venue coordinator, in particular—for two and a half years. They were extremely understanding and accommodating when we decided to postpone our wedding. Jena so kindly responded to my every question over that timeframe. She definitely prioritized responding to my emails as our date neared (as was specified in the contract), which was a huge relief. I will also add that, on the day of the wedding, she was an incredible advocate and resource for me as the bride. She was very organized and made sure I had water and snacks as needed, time and space to breathe and cool down, and making sure I was able to scurry away from view when guests started arriving while we were finishing pictures before the ceremony. Aside from the people, the venue itself is truly beautiful. We got non-stop compliments on how pretty everything was. We didn’t do any added decorating (aside from very simple centerpieces on the table). We relied entirely on the natural beauty of the outdoor space, which is unmatched. The ballrooms inside are also already so nice that they really don’t need much if you aren’t looking to do much decorating. We also used both the bride & groom getting ready spaces upstairs. The bridal suite (Molly’s Place) was the perfect little retreat for the bridesmaids to do our finishing touches and as a holding space for us, especially considering how hot it was outside. I will also add that the way Glendalough works with preferred vendors took a lot of the planning logistics off us, and since we didn’t use a wedding planner, it made a huge difference for bringing the whole event together. Jena very reliably managed all the preferred vendors. The food was good—we got compliments from several of our guests—but it wasn’t the highlight for us. There were small imperfections that came up, as is likely the case anywhere. But if you want a venue that will wow your guests, while also working with a team you can trust will give you peace of mind, I cannot recommend Glendalough enough.
Having our wedding at Glendalough was a DREAM. Not only is this a beautiful venue with indoor and outdoor options, the staff is phenomenal. We didn’t even end up needing a wedding planner because they were so helpful and organized, and our wedding went smoother than we ever dreamed it would. If you’re thinking about picking Glendalough for your wedding, DO IT!
We started planning our May 2, 2020 wedding in March of 2019 at Glendalough (Amy was so helpful during this process). Due to COVID-19 we had to pivot our public wedding celebration to September 12, 2020. Planning a wedding during a pandemic was an absolute challenge and I truly appreciate Glendalough's flexibility during this time. We are able to get a new date quite quickly and even able to add a few additions to the wedding (premium open bar) that made the night a great experience for our attendees. The Garden was absolutely beautifully manicured, the day of staff was awesome (shout out to Brittney) and the food was really good. As a fellow event manager I have high expectations when it comes to communication between vendor/venue and client and unfortunately responsiveness from Glendalough's staff was not great. Overall, our wedding was beautiful and everything in the end turned out amazing, but I do advise a wedding planner or day of coordinator especially if you aren't knowledgeable in event planning.
Even during the pandemic I was able to have the wedding of my dreams! We decided to postpone our reception as many of our loved ones could not attend the ceremony and the lovely coordinators at Glendalough Manor have been very accommodating! I highly recommend this venue!
Jenna was very professional and helpful during the stressful wedding process. As our reception coordinator, Jenna followed our timeline perfectly and took care of any problem that arose. Our wedding was during the very beginning of quarantine and we were losing guests so quickly. Glendalough Manor was very accommodating and offered several upgrades free of charge. They chose to remain open for us and incorporated a higher level of cleanliness to allow our guests to feel safe and cared for. I am so grateful for their ability to adapt so easily to help our circumstance. I would highly recommend this beautiful, family-owned venue to make your perfect day happen!
Truly a memorable experience...Glendalough Manor was recommended by a friend because her pastor has officiated many weddings... The day we started planning our wedding we knew this was the location for us... Everyone at the venue treated us like family from the start... and went out of the way to make our day very special from the beginning of our journey to the big day... The gardens are truly amazing and well kept... I really wanted an outside wedding but it rained on our day and Glendalough had a plan for that also... hands down the best venue in the area...
This was byfar the best day of my life. Glendalough Manor staff made sure my day was PERFECT. From the start to the end. Everything was spectacular. Just breath taking. Still getting calls on how beautiful everything was.
If there were half ratings - we'd go 4.5 stars! This was a friendly, family-run venue. The grounds and garden are absolutely gorgeous for an outdoor wedding! The facilities were well-kept and the bridal ready room was very spacious. Our guests raved about the beauty of the venue and how delicious the food was! The staff was organized and everything ran like clockwork the day of the wedding. If anything was a minor drawback, communication was a little slow at times due to the schedule of the venue (only work certain days during the week). All in all, we highly recommend this venue for both ceremony and reception.
Glendalough was a great choice. The price was affordable, the food was great and our guest were very impressed. There was bit of difficulty with getting in contact with the Coordinator at first but overall it was a great expedience and very organized. The staff assistance where ever needed and i absolutely loved the event directors who kept everything going smoothly. The food was great especially the crab cakes :). Great Choice.
Our wedding at Glendalough Manor was absolutely beautiful. The staff was always available when needed and didn't let any details slip through the cracks. Our ceremony was outside and in late November but they made sure that all the flowers were freshly planted and in bloom just for our day. Also, Sarah and Courtini were wonderful day of planners. They executed everything perfectly and made sure the event ran smoothly. Thank you all so much!
Glendalough Manor is an awesome venue! It is a bit pricey; however, all costs are included. Food and drink packages can be customized. Food was mediocre compared to the tasting. All of the coordinators are amazing, and provide schedules for each step of the planning process (including a very detailed schedule for wedding day), which makes planning less stressful. We loved our wedding at Glendalough Manor.
My wedding ceremony took place at my church but I had my reception at Glendalough Manor. From the time I got engaged to my wedding was only 3 months so I was on a very tight time schedule! From the first meeting I had with Amy everything was OUTSTANDING!! Jena was AMAZING as well! There is nothing about my day that I would have done differently! The entire staff at Glendalough is GREAT & they took care of everything on my day! I would highly recommend Glendalough Manor for any event & hope to visit there again some day!
As the mother of the bride, I was deeply sadden regarding the service and disorganization of the Glendalough staff on August 25, 2018. The only saving grace for that day was the beautiful photos taken by the Photographer.
This venue was everything I could imagine and more! The gardens are GORGEOUS!!! My guest were super impressed. All of the staff were nice and accommodating. I’ll have to say Amy was my favorite! The food was just okay but I did like that we were able to schedule a tasting to choose our favorites. I didn’t like that there was another wedding going on during the same time as mine but overall I was pleased with the venue choice.
I had my ceremony and reception here and it was amazing! Amy, Jena, Sara, and Courtni are just a few people I can think of off the top of my head that just went above and beyond making sure every part of my wedding was executed perfectly! Glendalough provides you with a list of their top vendors and you can even set up meetings at Glendalough with the vendors which was super convenient. They have catering in-house which usually you think of wedding food as not so great, but their food is excellent! They have an amazing bar. The venue is gorgeous! I had my ceremony outside under the pergola with all of the beautiful flowers. My reception was inside in the Wicklow ballroom which has a huge dance floor and plenty of space! The decorations are gorgeous! My guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the space was and how amazing the food was! I was never stressed at all planning my wedding because they have all the resources there that you could ever need! I recommend this venue to anyone that doesn’t want to be stressed out planning their wedding because I cannot thank Glendalough enough for making my dream wedding so stress free and easy!
Glendalough Manor is a beautiful venue. Both the house and garden are lovely. The planning process was very good; it went smoothly and was very detailed. The preferred vendors that we used all met or exceeded our expectations, especially the DJ, and the vendors for the the cake and the flowers. The food was excellent.
Unfortunately, on the big day (when it really counted), the execution of the event by the Glendalough Manor staff fell very short of our expectations. Following the event, when trying to reconcile what was (in our view) poor customer service, we were treated disrespectfully and very unprofessionally. For that reason, we cannot recommend Glendalough Manor.
Everyone at Glendalough was fantastic to work with! Jena was extremely responsive along the way, working with us on all the details. Sarah and Courtney did a great job handling the ceremony, and our Event Director made the reception run very smoothly. One of my biggest criteria was selecting a venue that would handle all the day-of details so it would be low stress for me - they absolutely delivered. I did not worry about ANYTHING from the second i arrived until we made our departure! The grounds are beautiful, the ballrooms are gorgeous and the food was AMAZING! Luckily for us, there was not another wedding on our day so we did not experience having an overlap in weddings and other guests in the bar area. The bar is gorgeous also - I would have preferred having the bar right in the ballroom so that guests were centralized in one area; however, i think some of our guests enjoyed being able to hang out in the bar area. Overall, Glendalough Manor was the perfect choice of venue - and is a superb value for the money!
Beautiful Venue! My husband and I wanted a venue that offered an outside ceremony option with an inside reception option. The ceremony and reception turned out to be Beautiful! The staff were Extremely helpful. From the coordinator provided to help with the wedding planning to the day of coordinator and reception director Glendalough makes sure you are taken care of. The food was delicious and they offered us a great variety to choose from. Glendalough also offers affordable payment plans. We and the guests were definitely pleased with our wedding day.
I had my wedding here two weeks ago, and everything turned out amazing. You won’t go wrong picking Glendalough Manor. The food was great and everything was well organized. It’s a one stop shop. My florist and decor came out perfect. Hands down the best wedding venue in metro Atlanta. Brides you won’t go wrong!
From Day 1, Glendalough has been my venue of choice! This venue allows you to express your own individual style and is not the cookie-cutter event venue that leaves little room to show your own individuality.
It didn't hurt that the staff was accommodating and prompt. I enjoyed working with Jena and Amy. They responded to my emails throughout the process. Also, the day of wedding planners were friendly and structured.
Now on to the venue. Everyone had wonderful things to say about the outdoor ceremony setup. It truly lends itself to little (or no) decoration, with beautiful blossoms and a pristine lake in the background!
The reception area was breathtaking! Glendalough did an excellent job setting it up just as I envisioned. It was themed a
"Royal affair", and they made me (and my husband) feel like royalty!
Thank you Glendalough Manor!
I was SO HAPPY with this venue and with the team of people there. They really do make it easy on you, from planning and picking venors, all the way through the end of your event there. On top of the fantastic team, the grounds and ballrooms are gorgeous and great in pictures, and food was delicious, too! I would recommend this venue to everyone.
The venue itself is beautiful - a little gem of a place near Peachtree City, GA. However, the planning team could have done better and been more communicative. Too many little issues happened on our wedding day that should not have - like the more junior coordinator coming up to me, the brides, every time she had a question, rather than going to our designated POC. They were late with certain things, the design of the room wasn't what I envisioned, and my own family had to help clean up. Brides and families shouldn't have to deal with mess ups and attitudes.
Amazing team and support throughout my entire before and during wedding process. Great vendors! Carolyn really went above and beyond to help my mother and I with questions. Jena made the day of process run smoothly and relaxing. Overall I would recommend them to anyone!
I came here with my fiance as a potential wedding venue. From the moment I arrive, I felt like this was just a business transaction. The lady was cold and not friendly. The venue is beautiful, but I felt uncomfortable and on edge because of the demeanor of the woman. I would never recommend this venue to anyone. You will not feel like they want to help you; they just want money.
Glendalough was the perfect venue for our wedding! The food was delicious and it was so pretty!!
All of the staff is very helpful and personal. They were open to making the room just the way the flower decorator wanted it to look.
Jena, was very helpful and accommodating to all our needs. Pennie was amazing as well and so was nice. Overall was a great wedding day experience and wouldn't change anything about the venue or staff. highly recommend.
If you're looking for not only a wonderful and beautiful venue but also a stress free day, than this is your place! Every moment at Glendalough was absolutely PERFECT! From our initial meeting to the day of! Everything went by so smoothly! The staff there are so caring and will do everything possible to ensure you have the absolute best day ever! Check this place out! You will not regret it!
As I write this review we are just 5 dyas from the actual wedding day of events. However, I can already commend the staff at Glendalough Manor for helping to keep me at ease and making the experience comfortable and stress free. I hired a wedding planner who's also among the best in Atlanta - Christie Williams of Niq Williams Events www.niqwilliamsevents.com and both teams are truly a dynamic duo. The Groom and I could not be more anxious and exited about all the magic that;s to unfold on 08.27.2016.
We recently got married here in February and we had the absolute best experience! It is family run so they really treat you like family while there. The whole team made the place look amazing for our big day and took care of all of our last minute changes with guests and decorations. It is absolutely gorgeous here especially in the summer with all the flowers, but even in late February just the architecture is beautiful. You can't go wrong here.
I can not say enough positive things about this venue. The staff is absolutely wonderful and on their game. Jenna is extremely attentive to emails even on Mondays when the venue is closed and Pennie is a kick ass day of coordinator who brought our vision to life. On the day of the ceremony a few decorations were placed in the wrong spot, Pennie jumped into action and had these changed immediately. My guests could not stop talking about how amazing everything tasted and looked. As a nervous bride the last thing I wanted to worry about was the venue on the morning of my wedding. The entire staff made my perfect wedding seamless. The venue also offers a vendor day which was the absolute BEST one stop shop to visit with all the preferred vendors and taste test your menu... FOR FREE! I would recommend this venue to any bride!
I had a great experience with planning my wedding here- the staff was on point and really helped guide me through the wedding planning process. The ceremony was absolutely perfect.
There are two negatives from my experience...one the bar is set up down the hall from the ballroom which requires guests to leave the reception to get a beverage. Two, My BIGGEST issue is that I am still waiting on my "rough" video from the reception, which was included in the price. They include a "rough" video from their cameras set up around the reception ballroom. They never gave us the video. I have been married now for almost TWO years and still sending emails to retrieve this footage...
Glendalough Manor is the perfect place to have a fairy tale wedding! It is the most beautiful time to get married starting around May when all the trees have leaves and everything is green. My wedding was at the beginning of April, and although the grass was still a little brown and it was still typical winter moving into spring weather it was absolutely gorgeous outside! I have the most beautiful pictures and they really know how to make everything look beautiful. Glendalough is a wedding machine! When we signed up they gave us a sheet that had everything broken down in a timeline for what we will be doing every 15 minutes of the wedding. It is so highly organized that I did not have a care in the world the day of. When we brought all of the decor and extra things we wanted set up at our 72 hour meeting I didn't have to worry about anything else after that point because they took care of the set up of everything I gave them exactly where and how I wanted it and they also took care of take down putting everything back into my parents car. Pennie (Glendalough’s complimentary wedding director) was the best part of the wedding. She is hilarious, and she is willing to go over and beyond to make her brides happy. She even came in early so I wouldn't have to get myself and all my bridesmaids ready in a small hotel bathroom down the road. I would recommend Glendalough to every bride not only because it is so beautiful inside and out, but it is also so organized and their staff takes care of every detail and goes over and beyond to make sure that everything is exactly how I wanted it. The only issue I had is that my friends said they ran out of 2 kinds of beer during the wedding and when I asked Pennie about it later she said the bartender never ran out – which they clearly did since many of my friends said the bartender was serving them other kinds of beer because they were “out” of the ones they requested. Pennie never followed up with me after that.
When we decided to get married it was a choice between Glendalough Manor and Lake Lanier, as I wanted a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Not only was Glendalough Manor just as beautiful, if not prettier with all its lush gardens, they worked so well to tailor our day and our budget with what we wanted. I am so glad we went with GM. The staff is pretty amazing, too. We worked with multiple people throughout our process, but Pennie is just a God-send. She worked so hard to make us happy and keep us happy, yet keep things moving throughout our wedding day and evening at the reception. The food was incredible too. I'm a big "foodie" so this was an important thing to me. My only complaint (and it isn't really even that) is that we did a buffet for our reception, and we did have multiple guests tell us how they were only allowed a certain amount/small portion of foods (and had to choose 1 meat, as we had 2 available). I understand this to a degree, but it was a little bothersome to hear that afterwards when it wasn't really mentioned in the process. We had a beer/wine bar and Pennie worked with us to create a signature drink, which was a sangria with blueberries. So many people commented on how great this was! The champagne they served was also excellent. It really was just all there - down to the details. Everything went so smoothly. It was as perfect as it could have been for us, and we couldn't possibly be happier. Thank you Glendalough Manor!
To all the Glendalough Manor Team. What a joy it was to work with you. Thank you, thank you for making it all seem so effortlessly. We could not have picked a better venue to have the most perfect wedding at. Everyone was so impressed and the food was wonderful. Hugs to all....The Mother of the Bride!
I can never say enough good things about every single person who works here! From the moment you walk in the doors you are treated like family! I am a full time law student with crazy hours and even when I would email at all hours of the night I would always wake up bright and early to a response. Our family and friends loved the grounds the inside rooms and BAR! The food was beyond amazing, and the online portal that this venue uses for its vendors makes the life of the Bride very easy! Amazing Amazing Amazing!
Great Service. Professional. Flexible. All of your needs are met at this location from food, photography, gowns, etc.
Glendalough Manor is hands down the most beautiful venue in Atlanta (surrounding Atlanta area). I searched all over for months and I was a very particular bride. I wanted to have my ceremony outside and this place was so beautiful that I needed very few decorations outside. It was astounding to find a place that was even more beautiful in person than the pictures display. And the people that work here are amazing, they are so friendly and helpful. And on the day of my wedding they truly made everything perfect. As a bride they make you feel carefree on the day of your wedding. This was a hard mission to accomplish because I have a type A personality. But my wedding day was amazing and I have had so many compliments from friends, family and even the videographer that this was the best wedding they had been to.
My wedding was beyond amazing and better than I could have ever dreamed of at Glendalough Manor! Everything was perfectly coordinated and the venue is absolutely gorgeous. Jena, Nicole, and the rest of the staff are so pleasant to work with and extremely professional. They made all of our guests and the wedding party feel right at home. Also, the venue is close to the interstate, making it easy to get to, and there are several resturants and hotels near by to accommodate any and all guests. I would definitely recommend this venue to all future brides.
Not only is this place beautiful, but the staff is so professional and knows exactly what they are doing! They assign 2-3 people to your wedding and they are so helpful! If you pick from their preferred vendor list they even handle all the invoices/billing!! Definitely check this place out for your big day:)
I chose the Glendalough Manor for my wedding ceremony and reception and I couldn't have been happier. The service they provided was top notch, they were always very prompt to respond to my inquiries. I worked with Jena initially and she was so helpful and professional and on the day of Nicole Wear was my coordinator she was tremendous! With all of the chaos going on, she was calm and kept me calm I absolutely love the service provided and my husband and I both agree that it was money well spent!
From the first visit to Glendalough my husband (then fiancé) knew it was where we were meant to get married. Being the practical sort I wanted to look at other places in the area just to be sure. We spent three months traveling all over metro-Atlanta looking at EVERY ( I really do mean every) place that dealt with weddings. Not a one could hold a candle to Glendalough's attention to detail, the beauty of the grounds and the manor, or the value of the services offered for the money. We had a little "sticker shock" our first run of the numbers at Glendalough--but when you add up what the same things would cost " ala carte" at some of the other venues or what it would cost in labor and time to do it yourself--Glendalough was the best value by far. Jaylyn and all the staff at Glendalough made us feel special and they all seemed to genuinely care about our special day--they got to know us and made sure our day was really OUR day. We wanted a stress-free, fun, beautiful wedding experience and Jaylyn and Glendalough made sure that happened. I still am getting compliments from guests at the wedding--"it was the most beautiful, original, fun wedding they have ever been to". Thank you Jaylyn and all the wonderful staff at Glendalough for making our day happen in such a wonderful way. Glendalough should be your first and last stop for weddings and special events!
Our wedding was really great at Glendalough. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the place was beautiful for our wedding.
This is THE BEST PLACE to have your fall wedding! I'm sure a wedding at any time of the year would be great here, but my fall wedding was absolutely gorgeous! It is well worth the expense to have the beautiful grounds, all of the amenities and the great service! The food was excellent and by far, the wedding coordinator was over the top!
We picked Glendalough Manor as our reception and ceremony site because we loved the look of the grounds and manor. We thought since they were very straight forward about pricing, etc, that they would be a pleasure to work with. However, after booking, we didn't hear from them for 3mths, though we were supposed to arrange to see them within 2wks. Finally, they got back to us but switched our coordinator.
Plans were rushed, but they went forward. Then on the wedding day, we get there and the colours for the banquet hall are wrong.
Then, after the ceremony, the DJ (the DJ that comes with the venue) was wandering around and didn't announce when the food was finished serving, so half our group was still hungry as the food was being taken away.
Then, the DJ announces my MIL, but says the wrong name (a mans name, on top of that!)! Our coordinator had written it wrong a few days earlier but we had corrected it with her. Apparently she didn't pass on the info. For our cake cutting song, instead of the traditional song we'd picked, the DJ plays some horrible song we'd never heard before.
On top of that, we were ushered our an hour before our time was up, and our guests who had arranged for rides at the proper ending of the reception were bothered and almost kicked off the property!!
My husband and I got in our limo and all our bags that our coordinator was supposed to place in there, weren't there. We had to stop the limo, call a groomsman and have him search for our belongings.
So, while the environment was beautiful, the service was horrible. If you want to use this venue, I would strongly suggest using your own vendors to make sure the day goes smoothly.
I was very pleased with this venue! My wedding coordinator, Jennifer, was VERY up to date and knowledgeable about everything that had to do with weddings! Come wedding day, I was not stressed AT ALL. Everything went as planned. They do everything for you so you don't have to spend your wedding day decorating your reception room or worrying about when your flowers are going to arrive. We had so many people tell us it was the most beautiful (and fun!) wedding they'd ever been to. I would not change one thing about my wedding, ESPECIALLY the venue!
The venue is absolutely gorgeous, grounds are WELL maintained and they are constantly updating the ballrooms!! Although you are required to use their caterer...the food was DELICIOUS! I was nowhere prepared for how much a wedding cost and refused to pay more than $8000 total...unfortunately when you use the W word (wedding) everything spikes. Overall I think the price was somewhat reasonable compared to what others charge (NOT cheaper but on average). BUT if you get the AWESOME Jennifer Gowing as your wedding coordinator...you will be SET!!! The staff is friendly and they pulled some strings to help make my day THAT much more memorable. Please Note* My wedding was fairly large (200 guests) so food and seating took up most of the budget AND we had an open bar (they dont offer a cash bar...but it was PRISTINE). LOVED MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE AND RECOMMEND THEM!!!!
This place was so beautiful and organized! They exceeded my expectations and made our wedding planning easy and stress-free! It truly felt like a fairy tale wedding. Everything was perfect!
I love the flowers and the service was amazing. You get every penny you paid and more. The best place to get married!
A Happy Bride
The outside wedding was beautiful! The guests were quit comfortable. However, the parents and grandparents (in the front row) and the bridal party were in the hot son. I heard over and over again from the guests how they had ceiling fans and shade. We were miserable.
I was the MOG and we held the rehearsal dinner at Glendalough. The rehearsal & dinner were outside in the beautiful setting. The location is nice and everyone enjoyed it. My complaint is with the lack of communication ahead of time and afterwards. I spent weeks trying to get responses to emails for details on the rehearsal dinner. Many times it tooks 10 days to get a response. There was no check list or info sheet to help me with details and information. There was no contract so that I felt secure that I was guaranteed the date, time, meal, etc. On the night of the rehearsal dinner, the food served was not what I had ordered. I was very disappointed. Personally, I didn't care for most of the food that was served, but many liked it. It was the Southern Barbeque dinner. We did not get the green salad, Texas toast or peach cobbler & ice cream. We got pasta salad, hard rolls and cookies and brownies. After the fact I was told there would be some kind of compensation for the mistake (she admitted it was her mistake). After following up for a couple of weeks and hearing the chef was looking into it, I gave up.
I didn't have a lot of dealings with them as far as the wedding went. However, the communication to the bridal party was poor. My sons were groomsmen and were not told they needed to usher until last minute when one of them was pulled to do it. I was not told when I needed to be where, so I just hung around the front area hoping someone would let me know.
I had been in communication with them ahead of time to be sure that my 85 year old mother-in-law was taken care of. Very little of the plans they assured me would happen did. It was not all their fault. However, at the reception, she was at one of the family tables. It was the one table in the room with two children and the oldest person. They were supposed to deliver her plate to her and that table was supposed to be one of the first to go to the serving line. My son finally went and got his grandmother a plate and then had to go tell someone to let the rest of the table go so she wasn't eating alone.
If Glendalough had just been intentional at giving good customer service and keeping us informed, most of the problems would have been alleviated. They apparantly don't grasp that most of us doing this have never done it before and need detailed instructions to make us feel secure and comfortable.
I will say that the cost per person for the rehearsal dinner was reasonable. It was just under $19 per person. Because you can't schedule the rehearsal until 30 days out, it's very difficult to schedule anywhere else.
One other thing that both families did not like (as well as many guests), is that while we were taking pictures after the ceremony, a couple was being shown around to see if they wanted to have their wedding there. It felt invasive and like a time share presentation.
Wowwwwww!!! My first impression was that the building was gorgeous and then the ballroom was even better! I was so impressed with the staff. When you arrive and book your date you automatically get a wedding coordinator for Glendalough that is included in the price. They made everything so seamless they even had someone come to the church which was not even at Glendalough to make sure everything ran extra smooth. Glendalough really makes you feel comfortable and at ease and there was never a time where I was second guessing my decision. The place was great, the on site DJ was great, food was great, bar was great...I really have no complaints at all. I really recommend Glendalough to anyone wanting a hassle free wedding with a pretty affordable price tag
i loved having my wedding at Glendalough Manor because it was a one stop shop and it was very cost efficient when i did my research there vendors were way cheaper than the going rate and they handled everything! They were very professional and absolutely the best!
The wedding day flowed quite smoothly because my coordinator took care of everything. The facility is beautiful, and all my guests thought it was the most beautiful place they had seen.
Glendalough Manor is an amazing place to have weddings. Our wedding turned out great. The staff was helpful, the coordinator helped me all along our planning process, and the food was excellent. My favorite thing about Glendalough Manor is their beautiful garden and the fountain. It was so magical. I recommend this place!
