Let me start by saying I think the wedding industry is a sham. Just about 99% of the time, vendors are more than happy to take advantage of your once in a lifetime occasion to charge you truly insane premiums. And then there are vendors who app...ear affordable, but it turns out that's because their work is not good or customer service is terrible- I learned this the hard way. If my now-husband wasn't so against it, I would've gladly gone to City Hall to avoid this nonsense.
Thankfully Gleneagles was none of those things and was exceptional in every way that mattered to me. They do not charge highway robbery rates for anything, they don't require crazy F&B minimums, and unless you have specific needs for your aesthetic, they provide all the basics for a wedding reception (chairs, charger plates, votive candles, silverware, etc.) which helps you save a lot on rentals. You can also source rentals through Gleneagles as a pass-through cost which for me was significantly less than working directly with a rental company/decorator.
Their food is top notch. Because my husband and I are SoCal transplants, almost all of our 120 guests were from out of state and it was important to us that they were well fed. After the wedding we had so many guests, unprompted, tell us how great the food was. A few ranked it one of the best, if not the best, wedding food they've ever had.
The venue is classic and elegant, not too trendy or modern- it may not be everyone's cup of tea but it was exactly what I was looking for. We booked the entire clubhouse and opted for an indoor ceremony & reception, but all the rooms have easy outdoor access via the patio for guests. Also most of the walls are huge floor to ceiling windows that look out into the expansive golf course from the second floor, so the views are awesome.
And last but not least, they have AMAZING customer service. Their staff on the day of was so great and accommodating. And Stephanie was by far the most responsive, attentive, flexible, considerate, and genuine person I worked with throughout my wedding planning process.
