INCREDIBLE. if you get the opportunity to book this company DO IT. My husband and I decided we wanted to throw a backyard wedding with all the flash and service of a venue style w...
edding. This is no easy feat. I knew without a doubt I needed a team with incredible service, knowledge and drive to make this happen and after a lot of research, I knew Glorious Affairs would be the ones to knock it out of the park. We had the absolute pleasure of working with Wendy and I will never be able to thank her enough for bringing my vision to life. Wendy blew me away with her professionalism and attention to details so much so that I trusted every suggestion she made. Every one was the correct choice. She is experienced and she knows what she's doing. She came to our house on multiple occasions to check out the space before the day of. When our original tenting company cancelled on us, 8 months before the wedding she helped me find a new one. She then coordinated with our new tenting company to make sure we had everything we needed. She adjusted rentals, make sure we had a rainy day plan, added heaters (THANK GOD she thought of it, it was so cold!) Wendy even came and stole us from our photographer so we could enjoy cocktail hour with our guests. She knew it was important to me to see it. Wendy goes above and beyond for her clients. Last minute we ran into a snag and I had to change the entire timeline of our day. We had to bump everything up a half hour. Wendy was my first call and she answered on the first ring and immediately calmed me down. She said it would be no problem at all and we would make it work. When problems need to be solved it shows you the true character of a company. Wendy handled it all seamlessly and did it all with the best sense of humor!
Our food was to die for. Designing our menu was so difficult because everything was delicious. They use seasonal ingredients so our fall wedding had fall inspired dishes. Our guests were raving about our salad. SALAD. that's how good everything was even the opening course was a stand out. We also decided to go with a Raw Bar in pure Rhode Island fashion. Those were some of the best Oysters I have ever had and our guests were blown away by the live shucking and décor of the table. The passed appetizers were delicious and so unique! The entree's were fantastic. We were even able to customize our sides.
Now - the service. I have grown up in the hospitality industry so service to me is extremely important. The staff was phenomenal. We were assigned a server for the day and she made sure Jeff and I ate every appetizer and got some of the raw bar and also brought our entire wedding party Fall Sangria (which we chose to serve the guests right after the ceremony) She followed us through the woods as we were taking pictures to make sure we had drinks and were all set and checked in with us constantly all night. Bartenders and everyone else were so sweet as well. I was truly blown away by the level of professionalism and hospitality of this group.
Wendy, Glorious Affairs you made my dream day come true. Thank you for EVERYTHING!!!

oices to work with. Leading up to the wedding, she thought of little things we would have totally missed otherwise, and took charge when we needed help communicating with other vendors. She had the best sense of humor throughout, too. People RAVED about the food; a month later people are still telling me how good their lobster rolls were!
We are so glad we were able to work with Glorious Affairs, Barbara, Wendy and their team. They were truly dedicated throughout the entire planning process - incredibly responsive, ...
flexible and helpful. Wendy walked us through the process every step of the way. During our wedding their staff was incredibly professional, kind and joyful! We had someone checking in with us all night to ensure my husband and I had enough food and beverages.
The quality of the food matches the quality of the service. They provide a unique array of options, focused on local and seasonal flavors. We had a hard time choosing options since everything sounded and tasted so fresh. Wendy and Barbara were incredibly helpful through this process!
There are many large scale operations in the area but the experience you get when working with Glorious Affairs is unmatched. They care deeply about each event!
Oh my god, Barbara, Wendy, and her team were absolutely phenomenal!! Another bride hired them for her wedding 8 years ago, and she said how amazing they were, but ultimately, I tho...
ught how great can a caterer be, but wow was I wrong! When my husband and I first met with Barbara, we could tell she was going to go above and beyond for our wedding, planning out every little thing with us and providing us with several different options! She told us between her and our venue manager, they would act as our day of coordinators to make sure everything and everyone is organized. We immediately got a good vibe from her and booked right away! Thank god we did, because the pandemic happened and we knew we secured the best caterer around! Our experience with Barbara and her team was nothing short of incredible!! They were constantly communicating with us, even when I changed my mind 100 times, and always checking in with us. Our tasting was amazing and I didn't think the food could be any better, but the day of the wedding, it was truly even better!!! Our appetizers were actually incredible!!! We had so many people back out last minute, that they even gave us both the swordfish and filet mignon for our meal! The swordfish, which can be a tough fish to cook, was the most tender and moist fish I have ever eaten! My husband was so incredibly impressed as swordfish is his favorite fish ever! The filet mignon was a perfect medium rare and was able to be cut with a butter knife! Most people don't eat the sides at a wedding, but people literally cleaned their plates! Even the butternut squash ravioli was incredibly enjoyable!! We even had guests raving about the salads, as they were a large portion and super unique! My husband doesn't even like salads and was actually looking forward to eating the salad again after having it at our tasting! They accommodated us by making a delicious dessert called "The Grey Stuff" which people loved and even got one of my bridesmaids a dairy free dessert! The bartenders came up with my own drink for me through the wedding, Barbara made up a perfect Beauty and the Beast greeting drink to enter cocktail hour with for our guests, and we even received glasses of champagne for our toasts! Now the food and drinks were something to rave about, the staff was truly the best part of Glorious Affairs! Barbara, the owner, was attentive to us and all the little details both throughout the process and on the wedding day! She made sure everything was set up exactly the way I wanted it and kept us on schedule the entire day, especially making sure we ate! Her staff was absolutely perfect at the wedding! We had a server assigned to us all night, bringing us appetizers and drinks throughout the entire cocktail hour while we were taking pictures, and up to the room when I had to bustle my dress, our drinks were never empty at dinner or throughout the reception, and they made sure we were taken care of! Our guests raved about not only the food, but how attentive and helpful the staff was! Her staff even helped with my dress and making sure I never needed anything at any point throughout the night! I honestly could go on and on about Glorious Affairs, but if you want an AMAZING overall caterer, book them!! It will be the best decision you make!!

ient, and just great to work with. All the guests raved about the quality of the passed appetizers, the raw bar, the dinner, the bar, and the service. Thank you so much, Glorious Affairs!

ted. Wendy was outstanding to work with - her ideas and suggestions were on point in helping us with menu design, The tastings reflected careful, personal attention. The event day execution was spotless. Wendy's staff was courteous, professional, and very attentive to our guests needs. The food - from the appetizers to the dinner - was high quality, carefully prepared, delicious and well presented. Our friends are still raving about the lobster rolls, the butternut squash ravioli, and the beef tenderloin. The desserts topped off a perfect night. Thank you to Wendy and her team for a magical, memorable evening.

ppointed at all. The food was AMAZING. Barbara was great in helping us make great choices for our wedding that were not only beautiful and affordable, but also accommodating to what we were looking for in terms of food, drinks, bar choices, linens, etc.. She went above and beyond - trying to find things that would fit our Peruvian culture - and the food was absolutely delicious. For our wedding choices we decided to go with the lamb skewers, the cilantro cod fish, and the homemade butternut squash gnocchi, which were all mouthwatering!!! Even our guests came up to us during and after the wedding to tell us how delicious our food choices were! I ordered the fish and my husband ordered the lamb and I even requested a side of the vegetarian gnocchi because I was having yummy dreams about that gnocchi after our tasting! Honestly, I would love to go back and book another tasting as if it were a nice dinner so we could relive our wedding menu! I cannot say enough about this place - they were amazing! Thank you for helping make our wedding day unforgettable!!
Glorious Affairs is the best of the best and we couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Wendy. I remember Wendy telling me that after wedding planning you end up ...
feeling like the people you work with become your family and you're sad to say goodbye to them and it is so true. I am so incredibly thankful for Wendy, Barbara, and the entire Glorious Affairs staff for making our (covid) wedding so incredibly special.
The food options are outstanding - you cannot go wrong with anything you choose and if you have questions Wendy is the best in the business and really knows how to steer you in the right direction. My husband and I had one of the first covid weddings and I got to see first hand how flexible, passionate, dedicated and creative Wendy really is at making sure not only our experience was the best but our guests' experience as well. We had to make lots of changes to how food and beverages could be served based on rules and regulations from the state throughout the months leading up to the wedding (September 2020) and Wendy was there every step of the way making things work with us.
When the wedding was over, we had countless guests tell us this was the best food and service they had ever had at a wedding - delicious food and no one was ever left waiting for their next drink or bite to eat. I hands down owe it all to Wendy and her ability to be creative, flexible, and determined to make our wedding an unforgettable experience.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! <3
Barbara and her team pulled off the perfect wedding for us. From the most incredible cheese table we've ever seen to amazing service to extraordinary desserts, our experience was e...
xcellent. Our vision wasn't traditional (cocktail hour first, standing ceremony and champagne toast, formal dinner at long Tuscan tables), and not only did Glorious Affairs understand what we were going for, but also made suggestions that enhanced the whole event. One of their staff even reminded me I had forgotten my bouquet as I was about to walk down the aisle! We would not hesitate to recommend them.
Barbara and her team were incredible to work with, and the food at our wedding was amazing! They did an awesome job helping us to customize our wedding. They didn't bat an eyelash ...
when we asked to incorporate a Brazilian flare - our signature cocktail was the caipirinha (Brazil's national cocktail), and they even made brigadeiros! Our guests couldn't stop raving about how great the food was - even guests with dietary restrictions were handled with ease, and told us how amazing everything was. We're so happy we decided to go with Barbara and the team at Glorious Affairs!
Very easy to work with and accommodating!
It was great to be able to meet with Barbara and Wendy in person to go over all the details so that on the big day I didn't have to worry about a thing!!
The absolute best ever!!! My daughter was married this past September. Barbara and her team out did themselves. The food was spectacular. From the beginning to the end. Everything ...
comes out hot and cooked to perfection. The attention that her staff gives is impressive. Everyone is there making sure you are taken care of. Barbara goes above and beyond her job. She makes sure the bride and groom have all they need. If I could give a thousand stars I would. She makes the whole experience perfect!!!
I really enjoyed working with Barbara and team from Glorious Affairs for our Labor Day weekend wedding. She made everything easy! And the food was delicious!

were met, beyond expectation. Barbara and her staff, over the top adorable, courteous, accommodating. I highly recommend Glorious Affairs! Hands down!
Barbara and Glorious Affairs made our first daughter's wedding a huge success. We went straight to GA when our second daughter became engaged. They provide total support to your ...
wedding planning. Barbara worked closely with my daughter and future son-in-law and us to understand what they wanted in a wedding and always had an excellent idea to solve any issue. She is readily available and responds to any question or email quickly. Wedding day is when GA really shines. Barbara becomes the on-site coordinator, taking care of all vendors and every small detail. The entire staff is professional, courteous and friendly and dedicated to making the day unforgettable. It goes without saying the food and beverage service is outstanding. I can't wait until our third daughter gets married so we can have another fantastic event with Glorious Affairs.
We had a good feeling about Glorious Affairs from the moment we arrived for our tasting. Barbara was energetic and warm and welcomed us with open arms (literally, she gave us a b...
ig hug when we walked in). The food was creative and tasty with so many options. Wendy was our event manager and it was clear that her and Barbara knew what they were doing. They asked us plenty of questions to get an understanding of what we wanted in our reception, but also to learn the type of people we were. They gave us suggestions (food, drink, decor), reminded us of things we were forgetting, and supported the decisions we were making. They were responsive and accommodating.
It felt like every time we were going to a meeting at Glorious Affairs we were nervous/ stressed/ filled with questions & uncertainty but every time we left my husband and I felt at ease, confident in the decisions we were making, and even more excited for the celebration we were planning.
When I talk about my wedding after the fact, I find myself often saying that 'we really lucked out with the vendors we chose' and I really do mean that. The reception ran better than I could have imagined and the food was delicious. Can't thank Barbara, Wendy and team enough!
GA catered my wedding last weekend in Jamestown, RI and we cannot say enough good things about them. The food, which was served family style, was excellent and we still have guests...
telling us how much they loved the food. The staff, which normally I wouldn't give a second thought to, was extremely friendly, professional, and efficient. That really helped things go even more smoothly and enjoyably.
But the real highlight was working with Wendy Cobb. She Wore SO many hats -- from going with us to look at rentals for place settings, to setting us up with a fantastic liquor distributor, to helping us with various odds and ends and working directly with our planner and other vendors to ensure everything went smoothly. When it poured rain on our wedding day to the point that it flooded the electrical outlets in the catering tent, she and the team adapted on the fly and and no one even could have guessed there had been such a major hiccup. Seeing Wendy there on our special day was a total highlight, and I will truly miss working with her.
Can't recommend Glorious Affairs highly enough!
This is a long overdue review for the wonderful Glorious Affairs. In addition to food and service being top notch, Wendy really took everything into consideration. She met with us ...
at the venue, thought about how to best use the space, how food should be served and presented, and how the night should proceed. We were also able to go to the rental company to choose table cloth and dining ware, etc. A few days before the wedding, we dropped off all the decor and alcohol at their office, and they put everything together beautifully. The weather was unstable, so we set up for Plan B the day before, but the day of they managed to change it back to Plan A so we could have the ceremony in the garden as planned. The cocktail hour and dinner both went flawlessly. They even assigned a dedicated server to take care of the new couple! Food was good and they were accommodating to our nut-free request. They were awesome all the way--I really appreciate them packing up everything so well when we went to pick up leftover wine and decor items. The terrific service is definitely worth it, my day was very stress-free because of Wendy, Molly, and their team. Our family has used them three times so far, and we will continue to recommend them!

y, to the end of our wedding night they made sure we were taken care of. Their menu is to die for, and it was hard to narrow it down to just a handful of items (Definitely go with the fish!). All the guests remarked on how delicious the food was, and the staff was superb. They worked hand in hand with all our vendors and coordinated every detail of the day and it went off without a hitch. I could not recommend them more highly!
Barbara and Glorious Affairs are fantastic. We hired and partnered with her team for our Wedding Welcome party this summer. Everything was coordinated well, her design of a custom ...
menu for our party was creative and turned out super tasty. People are still talking about how great the food was (seriously, asking for recipes!). The staff is amazing and very professional, our servers and bartenders kept everyone with cocktails and food in hand. Glorious Affair’s takes the stress out of party planning and can be trusted to plan, coordinate and cater a great event. We are local to Rhode Island and will definitely use Glorious Affairs again.
The Glorious Affairs team, led by Barbara, were amazing and made our Newport, RI Wedding Weekend so special.
Their attention to detail and commitment to creativity were beyond K...
atie’s and my expectations. We had a guest list of 180 people including many from Australia so wanted to ensure everyone came together a party as one.
A special call out to Glorious Affairs for their menu, which was the Aussie Burgers and authentic sausage rolls. They were soooo good that a friend who owns a restaurant in Newport now features them as part of their main menu. Yum Yum!
Thank you, Barbara for everything!
Love, Andrew & Katie

the service was impeccable. Barbara, Wendy & their staff were wonderful to work with through the entire planning process and catered to our needs every minute of the day. They are worth every penny and truly give you individualized care and attention. The wedding guests have not stopped talking about how amazing the food was!

ery aspect of the event. The food was 5 star. The staff beyond professional. The wedding was perfect.
It was the WAY above and beyond things Wendy did - with a threat of rain reappearing after I cancelled the tent, Wendy purchased (on her own) coverings for the outdoor ceremony. She made great suggestions throughout the planning process and I trusted her implicitly. I can't say enough about the chef and staff. Every aspect was first class.

tings to the week leading up, she really put us at ease throughout the planning process and we knew we were in great hands. We didn't use a wedding coordinator, and Barbara really stepped up to help fill that gap.
When we arrived at our reception, everything was set up beautifully, Barbara’s team took care of everything. Barbara had a server assigned to my husband and me, and they did a great job tracking us down as we moved around so we didn’t miss any of the exceptional appetizers they prepared. The servers were clearly very experienced, as they circulated the appetizers throughout the venue, and there was plenty of food for everybody. Our guests are still raving about the food, from the apps through our perfectly thought out dessert buffet.
We can’t thank you enough for doing such an amazing job. You truly went above and beyond for us, thank you!!

If you are looking for amazing, quality food & professional catering services, you MUST book with Glorious Affairs catering. Barbara, Wendy & all of their chefs and staff made our ...
wedding on 10/21/17 the most special occasion. From the first e-mails & meetings for tastings, Barbara was attentive, patient and helpful along the way. We felt completely at ease knowing they were handling everything and would deliver the BEST food for our big day. And THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The appetizers did NOT stop coming out – all of our guests said they couldn’t stop eating the amazing passed appetizers – shrimp cocktail, sweet potato fritters, tenderloin crostini and bacon-wrapped chicken. Staff members ensured that myself and the groom were able to enjoy them and followed us around with a tray, and I often had 3 items in my hands at once! The cheese and fruit spread was also INCREDIBLE.
For the reception, we opted for a stations menu with two delicious salad options, a grill station with the best salmon, beef and chicken we have ever had, and then our favorite, A TACO STATION. Our friends and family have not stopped talking about the food, and everyone was very impressed by the presentation of each station and the quality service from the staff. Our dessert was a pie station with various fruit pies with ice cream and whipped cream and it was perfect.
The table setup was EXACTLY how we envisioned everything and Barbara and Wendy were so incredibly kind and thoughtful and ensured we were all taken care of that night. Even things as simple as having a pitcher of water available for my mother and making a special plate of roasted potatoes for the groom were greatly appreciated. We can assure you that Glorious Affairs will go above and beyond to ensure your day is perfect and that your guests will be extremely impressed by the food and décor and will leave well-fed. Glorious Affairs deserves all of the awards and recognition and you shouldn’t shop around – they are truly THE BEST! We can’t thank you all enough for everything!!! xoxo

ng worked with Barbara for two weddings I can safely say that other caterers that we considered do not even compare. Her attention to detail is amazing and she really does cater to your every need. The best in town!
Glorious Affairs catered our wedding at Glen Manor House this past May, and we could not have been happier!! We found Glorious Affairs because they were recommended to us by Glen M...
anor House, among other local caterers. What set Glorious Affairs apart was the level of service we could tell we would receive. We worked with Wendy, who from the start was just so generous and open. She really dedicated the time and energy to understand what we wanted and what would work for us. We wanted to offer food that was not only delicious but would also suit an array of dietary restrictions. My husband and I eat a paleo-ish diet, and I have some food sensitivities (eggs, wheat, and dairy) that can be really tricky to work around. Wendy helped to steer us in the direction of the dishes that would work for us and our guests' dietary restrictions, and we found that they had plenty of amazing options! In fact, we threw and almost entirely gluten-free wedding with plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians too. And I don't think any guests felt that anything was missing. In fact, so many people have been telling me how much they enjoyed the food!
I had so much confidence in the quality of food at our tasting combined with the care I could tell Wendy was giving to us that I knew we had to go with Glorious Affairs. I also really appreciate that Glorious Affairs only caters one wedding per day, so you know that you are their #1 priority on the day of your wedding. Since they cater at Glen Manor House all the time it was also very comforting to know that everyone knew how the Manor House worked and would be able to make sure things went smoothly.
On top of all of this Wendy also helped us to keep our costs as low as we possibly could, and the chef was able to recreate a special family mint recipe for me! That was very exciting. On the day of the wedding the entire Glorious Affairs team was so kind, professional, and respectful! It felt wonderful to have them all be a part of our day.
I really cannot praise Glorious Affairs highly enough! They did such amazing work for us, and I want to especially thank Wendy for the all the time and kindness she gave to us. She really helped make our day exactly what we wanted it to be - a special, happy, fun day with some really amazing food!

The Glorious Affairs staff really delivered on our wedding day and we’ve received many compliments from our guests that the food at our wedding was not only the best they’ve ever had at a wedding, but some of the best food they’ve had. The quality of the ingredients and the presentation of the passed and plated dishes were superb. We would highly recommend Wendy and Glorious Affairs!

ld not have done a more perfect job of ensuring us and our guests were taken care of completely. We were assigned a staff member that made sure my husband and I were set with food and drinks throughout the night. At one point a staff member brought me a plate of appetizers out on the beach during photos because she knew I wouldn't make it to much of the cocktail hour. The food stations at the reception were fantastic! Our Florida friends are all still raving about the amazing New England station. The flow of the evening was seamless and it's all thanks to Glorious Affairs! THANK YOU Barbara, Wendy, and everyone at GA!!

with amazing food and service. From our first meeting with the Glorious Affairs staff, it was evident that they were trustworthy and reliable, which made the process stress free. Leading up to the event, they helped us in developing a great menu, creating the right decor for our venue, and the overall ins and outs of what we were looking for. The time and effort they put into planning our special day was amazing. Most of all, it was nice to work with such great people who truly care about your wedding, and who go to great lengths to make it memorable. Glorious Affairs is the best of the best!!

ut the night, the staff came over with a plate full of all the different appetizers during the cocktail hour and left different desserts at our table at the end of the so that we could taste everything! I almost didn't have main entree because I was going around and talking to all my guests but I am so happy that I sat down to eat because the beef tenderloin was by far one of the best I ever ate! Working with Wendy was such a pleasure. Right from the start she made me and my mom feel so comfortable and really helped us plan so many details of our wedding. The two things that we really wanted was good food and to have the wedding go smoothly and Wendy and her team made sure both of those things happened. Wendy was always very responsive and very sincere when we asked her opinion on certain things. I highly recommend Wendy and Glorious Affairs!!

there is a reason Glorious Affairs is a 'Best of the Knot' Hall of Famer. Gaile and her team were so great helping us with our menu and delivering an outstanding experience. The fo...
od was great, which we expected. The help they also provided with linens, furniture rentals, etc also we a huge relief.
Everything from appetizers to salads to entree's were great. Our tasting with Gaile was a great experience and put us at ease that food was something we did not have to worry about.
As the groom, one thing I unexpectedly appreciated was Gaile's attenion on the night of our wedding. She worked to coordinate her staff as well as my wife and I's time throughout the night (we did not have a wedding planner). Gaile even forced us to sit down and eat our meals. Our feedback from guest was extremely positive.
Barbara and her team are, bar none, the best in the business. Being a mixed couple, we were really hoping to pull cultural elements from both sides into our evening. GA went abov...
e and beyond, from the killer mini carnitas tacos to the churros w/ house made chocolate sauce for dessert, we're still getting compliments on the food. We knew from the first meeting they would likely be our choice and the tasting solidified that! The wedding day itself could not have been more perfect - and we owe a great deal of the credit to Barbara and her staff. Sooooo much more than just a "caterer." But, beyond that, it's everything she does behind the scenes that makes the potential stress on the bride & groom just melt away. Thank you Barb, you're incredible!
I could not imagine my wedding day without Glorious Affairs as my caterer. From the beginning of the wedding planning experience, to the end of my wedding day, working with Gloriou...
s Affairs was a dream. My husband and I loved our food tasting where the chef and Barbara made us feel like royalty when we were picking our meals and drinks. The day of the wedding was even better. The food was out of this world and my guests as well as myself and my husband raved about the food for weeks after the wedding. From the signature drink to the main course and the cake, it was the best meal I had ever had. (every guest I spoke too as well said the same thing!) I will recommend Glorious Affairs to anyone getting married or having a special event for many years to come. Thanks for making my wedding day amazing!
I HIGHLY recommend this catering company. I cannot say enough about how great Barbara and Glorious Affairs were for our wedding. Barbara was very attentive to our needs from our ...
initial meeting through every last detail at the wedding. Her knowledge and experience were evident at every meeting as she helped to guide us through the whole process. After our first meeting with Barbara we immediately knew we were in the right place. Our wedding was very nontraditional in many aspects and not only did Barbara totally understand our vision and all of our needs, but she also was able to make amazing suggestions that I hadn’t thought of myself. The food at the wedding was really the perfect culmination of our entire experience with Glorious Affairs. Our guests continue to comment on how delicious the food was, how plentiful it was, and how wonderful and attentive all of the wait staff was! Thank you Barbara for making our day perfection!!

hat Glorious Affairs was available and willing to work within our budget. Both Barbara and Wendy went above and beyond to make sure that everything ran smoothly. Thank you Glorious Affairs for an amazing meal and experience!

y fresh and absolutely delicious. They nailed the "farm to table" vibe perfectly. Many of our guests could not believe the quality and freshness of our food--we received numerous compliments post-wedding. Everything from the bacon lollipops at cocktail hour to the mini lemon cello cones was presented and displayed in impeccable fashion. Barbara was warm, pleasant, open to feedback on all of the dishes, allowed us to make tweaks and changes, and was prompt in all correspondence with us. I would highly recommend Glorious Affairs to any bride considering getting married in Newport, RI!
