This vendor is a complete fraud. To echo other comments here, the management is extremely unprofessional and dropped the ball on countless weddings. They stole deposits from several brides without notifying them of the cancellation. When I called to schedule my hair trial, I was informed that the salon no longer exists and my deposit would not be refunded. I am pursuing them for fraud now. If you come across a salon owner in estes park named LORI COOPER - do not trust them. They are the original owner of this failed business.
Extremely unprofessional. Hiding from me rather than calling me to apologize or offer a refund for having to cancel on my wedding. They didn’t even call me to tell me. I got a form response saying that they’re closed!!! Don’t bother even contacting them because they won’t answer!
Booking with them was super easy. They came to our venue. They got a bit lost so we started late, but still finished on time. It could have been help to be given some notes of things to do prior to coming like exfoliation or whether or not I should have cleaned my hair. However, I loved my hair and makeup for the day, so did my maid of honor. They were both fun and friendly ladies to get to know!
We used Glow Salon and Spa for bridal services for our November 2022 wedding. Using them was an absolute nightmare. To begin with, it was super important to me to have a makeup and hair trial prior to the big day. I scheduled my appointments and made the two hour drive to Estes Park. I was told once I got there that the make up artist was sick that day. Fast forward to the day of the wedding, I received a call from the owner at 8AM the day of that my hair stylist was sick and a replacement stylist would have to be used. I was later told by another stylist that they had known she was sick two days prior and waited until the day of to notify me. Now I can chalk both of those instances up to “bad luck”. However, these were not the only issues. Through the entire process communication was awful. I would call and call and email and email and receive responses a week or more later. To make matters worse, they over charged my credit card by hundreds of dollars on the final invoice. Upon noticing the significant over charged, I reached out to the owner and her assistant. I was assured it would be corrected right away. A week later… no refund. I called and called and called and emailed and emailed. Never receiving a response. I eventually had to do a charge back on my credit card to get my money back. I’m not one for writing bad reviews but in this case I wished so bad I had known what I was getting into prior to booking them. The owner of this company is absolutely awful to work with. Spend more money if you have to and go somewhere else.
Though the quality of makeup application and hair styling was well-done, the overall ethical nature and organization of this business leave a lot to be desired. Lorie, the owner, was difficult to reach and inconsistent in her communications from the start, and that should have been a sign not to book. She reassured me that she was the self-proclaimed ‘fairy godmother’ of wedding days, and turned out to be the only vendor we booked that I would never consider again. Several of the stylists took far longer than promised to do hair and makeup, stealing two full hours from our wedding day timeline. This spoiled the opportunity to do special wedding portraits with my husband, a blight we will never forget.
As for Glow Spa’s business ethics, I have rarely been more disappointed by such poor handling from business owner. Lorie overcharged my mother for our services when I missed one phone call the morning after my wedding day. She charged the credit card without reviewing the appropriate charges and services, and we had to ask for an itemized receipt. She charged me for a full bridal package when I had paid half at my trial appointment. She has been practically impossible to reach since then to rectify the charges, and insisted on charging us for someone who received no services. When asked to fix this, she refunded a partial discrepancy and did not address the bulk of the error. Her hair and makeup prices are not disclosed and subject to hidden upcharges that the stylists did not discuss with myself or the bridesmaids. Lorie told me she has had many health issues during this time, and while I would never wish ill health on anyone, I am left feeling like she’s using those issues to avoid being honest in her business.
Furious. The only star I offer is for the bridal stylists themselves.
Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere. Your special day is worth so much more than this place.
I booked a block of nail service appointments for friends and family the day before my wedding. Unfortunately, the experience was quite poor. Nearly everyone’s nails were ruined within a few hours, including mine. (In fact, I, the bride, had to promptly remove them and do them myself that night.) There was also quite a bit of drama between staffers, and very long, slow completion of services. To their credit, the management were apologetic and reimbursed us for the services, which we appreciated. My wash and blow-out, though, was wonderful.
To reiterate other reviews, most of the services we got at Glow were ok -- the facials and spray tans were good. The nail services were not good at all and we all really wished we would have gone somewhere else for that. My MOH got gel polish on her toes and it was all chipping off within 24 hours. Very weird, we'd never seen that happen before and we get pedis together all the time. All services are extremely overpriced for the quality you receive. But the biggest issue is the disorganized owner, Lorie, who does not reply to emails or voicemails, adding plenty of unnecessary stress and worry around your wedding weekend. I used Lorie for flowers as well and really wish I would not have. Scattered is an understatement. Glow should be cleaner and the services should be better quality. Go elsewhere for your wedding.
I used Glow Salon and Spa for my wedding hair and makeup and I honestly don't recommend them to any brides. My makeup and hair stylist did a great job and I was happy with how my hair and makeup turned out. I felt super pretty and bridal, however, my experience with the owner and the scheduling was honestly really stressful and I just wouldn't recommend them because of it. The last thing you need leading up to your wedding day is a lack of communication on when or even IF your makeup and hairstylist will be showing up on the wedding day. There was so much lack of communication from the owner/bridal scheduler I was worried they were not going to show up for the wedding. When I first spoke with the owner, Lori, I was quoted the wrong price over the phone that what I paid for hair and makeup for me and the mothers (mother in law and mother of the bride) which is not a huge deal but annoying. I also reached out to the owner multiple times via email to ask what time her stylists would be meeting us at the venue and she never responded to my emails, so I would call the salon since she wasn't there I was given her home office number multiple times and none of my voice messages would be returned (again, I left multiple) I just wanted to know what time her stylists were coming. So leading up to the wedding I could not get ahold of anyone who could tell me what time they were coming, they all told me I needed to speak to the owner since she coordinated weddings and of course, I could not get her to return any of my messages and she was never picking up when I called or at the salon when I called, so I was getting pretty stressed not knowing when and if they were showing up. So finally I got lucky and got ahold of the owner like 2 days before the wedding because she happened to be at the salon when I called and she told me the time the stylists would be arriving. Then on the actual wedding day, they came about 30ish minutes early, and thankfully we were already there early to set up but weren't expecting them then. I was also charged twice for my hairstyle (once as a bride and once as a bridesmaid when no bridesmaids got their hair done) and a tip on my card that they had on file which is fine but no one told me that I would be charged this so I also tipped the stylists on venmo and when I reached out to the owner about this later to get the charge for the hairstyle that did not happen and the tips removed from my card since I already tipped via venmo because of the lack of communication once again she told me one of her stylists was saying I never tipped her, wtf? Thankfully I did not use cash and used venmo and could provide a screenshot of my tips to the owner so she would waive the additional charge. Also, when I called the owner to get this fixed she told me she would reach out after a few hours and never did until I called at the end of the day, I was following up since it had been about 8 or so hours since we first spoke and I knew if she went home I would probably not be able to get ahold of her once again. I honestly thought I might be getting scammed with the extra charges, lying about tips, and total lack of communication/no return on my messages. So overall, the stress of dealing with all of this right before and after my wedding day before leaving for my honeymoon was not worth it, there are other artists that are great in Estes that you should use instead.
I am so grateful to Danielle at the Glow Salon. She did my trial of hair and makeup beautifully back in March. It was tricky to select a hair salon for a destination wedding, but she knocked my hair and makeup right out of the park in one go. And when the big day came, the Glow team did not schedule Danielle to do my make-up despite our previous trial, but Danielle orchestrated the schedule to make it work for me. She made my outsides match my insides on that beautiful day.
Yurley also did a great job with my family members' makeup.
I did find the general process at Glow Salon and Spa difficult to maneuver though. There was pre-paperwork I was told I had to fill out regarding my family's preferences, and the team hadn't even seen it when they came for the day. Also I didn't hear anything about timing for the day until the week of which definitely made me nervous despite scheduling with Glow months in advance. So, my advice is to stay on top of the planning process when working with this salon.
My groom and I also had our nails done prior to the wedding at Glow and they turned out well.
I live out of state, so trying to book hair and makeup for my wedding was a little stressful since I had to rely on online reviews. My original makeup and hair salon cancelled all of my services due to Covid a few weeks before my scheduled trial run. I panicked and immediately started trying to find a new place. I stumbled across Glow. I reached out and almost got an immediate response from Lorie. She called herself the fairy godmother of weddings since she organizes everybody. I knew right then and there I was in the right place. Huge Disney fan here. I fell in LOVE with Kim-Angel and Laura at my trial and I couldn't wait for my wedding. I have never felt more beautiful on my wedding day. I am SO lucky I found this place!!
I can not say enough FANTASTIC things about Glow Salon and Spa. Our wedding was scheduled for August of 2020 and had to be postponed because of COVID. I've been working with Lorie, the owner, and she has been a total angel through this process. Needless to say having to make so many changes is stressful enough but they have been wonderful to work with. We had done one trial for my hair and makeup in January on a trip to do wedding planning but now I am sure everything will change with our new date and doing a fall wedding a year later. We traveled to Estes Park on another planning trip this past week and sat down with Lorie and Christy to finalize other details (she is also an amazing florist and since our former florist won't work with us on any credits or anything we cancelled with them and are using Lorie and her sister) and the we decided to do an engagement shoot while there. It was another wonderful experience having my hair and makeup done for my engagement photos! Their stylists are all so sweet and accommodating, the salon is beautiful and I can't wait to have my bridal party be pampered! We are doing a bridesmaids party the day before our wedding to have facials, manis and pedis and then will be back the next day. I will update my review I'm sure after the wedding but wanted to let the world know how gracious, kind and caring the staff and owners of Glow are.
Everything from beginning to end was pretty unprofessional in my interaction with this business. From their website listing inaccurate services and prices, to changing my hair appointment time two days prior, to asking for a small adjustment to my hair (a section felt loose and I asked for it to be secured a bit more) being simply ignored, to charging me double the price listed through their online scheduling platform. My hair was falling out before my ceremony and I had to have a friend fix it. The vibe here was the worst addition to my wedding day. I'm very easy going and understanding but this was absurd.
If this is related to your big day- Find a professional place that can deliver on what they offer- this is not the place. You think you can treat people like they're at McDonald's but charge them like you've got a Michelin star? Wow. Best of luck!
I was a bit nervous after booking Glow Salon for my wedding because communication and organization was a little messy on their end. However, the stylists that were brought on site to do our hair and makeup were amazing. Usually I'm not a big fan of how wedding hair/makeup is done, but they were not heavy handed with the makeup, and the hair styles were beautiful. Not too done, just the right amount, and the stylists were friendly and fun to talk to while getting ready.
