We got married at the Golden Gate Club on May 24, 2026, and while the venue itself is beautiful, our experience with Wedgewood Golden Gate Club was extremely disappointing.
After ...a long planning process and extensive communication, we expected the Wedgewood team to be much more prepared on the day of our wedding. Unfortunately, the execution was disorganized across several important areas. Our day of venue coordinator was largely missing throughout the day, forgot the vow books, could not locate the golf cart keys, and our ceremony started late, which threw off the timeline for the rest of the event. We also did not have champagne in our glasses for the champagne toast, parts of our photo guest book setup were not put out properly, and the table setup did not match the photos and instructions we had provided.
Food service was also a major issue. Meals were significantly delayed, with some guests waiting around 30 minutes after others had already been served, and our vendors did not receive their meals. Our event captain checked in once and then seemed to disappear. He had asked for our drink orders after the ceremony, but they were never delivered. At the end of the night, packing was chaotic, and our families had to stay until around 1 a.m. putting things away. Excess dessert was thrown away without asking, we did not receive the boxed cake/food we were promised, and many of our belongings were either missing or packed into random boxes with little support from the team.
There were issues beyond the day-of execution as well. We were switched to a new coordinator late in the planning process, which forced us to re-explain many details. The payment process was unclear and stressful. The invitation ordering process was clunky and disorganized. We also had a disappointing experience with their floral vendor, including difficulty getting responses in the final weeks, an incorrectly sized pocket square boutonniere, bud vases that did not match the aesthetic we expected, and no proof or preview ahead of time despite spending thousands on florals.
We understand that no wedding is perfect, but the number of missed details and lack of ownership from the Wedgewood team made the experience much more disappointing and stressful than it should have been. Most frustratingly, we followed up several times after the wedding to raise these concerns, after they asked us for feedback, and have not received a meaningful response or resolution. Considering we cannot do our wedding day over again, the least we expected was acknowledgment of where the team overpromised and underdelivered.
We are grateful we were able to celebrate with our family and friends, but based on our experience, we would not recommend Wedgewood Golden Gate Club for a wedding where you are expecting strong communication, organization, and day-of execution.
