Gordon Sound

DO NOT HIRE!!! "Shawn" (if that's who it actually was) completely RUINED our ceremony. He disregarded our pre-processional tracks, played overlapping tracks during our processional which sounded terrible and completely ruined our timing, and started the recessional song at the wrong time so it fell flat with a mellow verse instead of the more energetic chorus. He also disregarded our music choices during the cocktail hour and dinner, and his CDs (yes, you read that right - he actually brought a big book of CDs with him) kept skipping and the speakers were cutting in and out. And he was unprepared for the song we were supposed to dance to for our staged sendoff outside, (he was supposed to leave his ceremony set-up outside for that, but he had already packed it all up - so he played it from inside the building, and we couldn't hear it well at all), and then he looped that same song probably half a dozen times, which guests took as a cue to leave - ending our reception almost an hour early. If that wasn't bad enough, he also showed up with two people who were intoxicated on arrival and proceeded to go to the bar and started drinking on our dime, saying they were "with the DJ." They also raided the emergency kit baskets in the bathrooms before the ceremony even started (they even took entire bottles of tums and tylenol). This was all before the ceremony even started. We also suspect that some cards may have been stolen as well - we only had 7 left at the end of the night. The bartender at our venue said that she's familiar with Gordon Sound, and she didn't recognize the guy or his "helpers" - she suspects that Shawn actually subcontracted the gig to someone outside of the company. We didn't catch his name since he never actually introduced himself to us, so we still don't know if that's what happened. We did receive a full refund after our day of coordinator followed up with Gordon Sound, but we never received any further communication, explanation, or an apology of any kind from them. It was so incredibly unprofessional and we were completely mortified. DO NOT TRUST GORDON SOUND WITH YOUR WEDDING DAY. IT'S NOT WORTH THE RISK. We went to a wedding two weeks after ours, and they hired Adam Tiegs of Adam's DJ Service, and he was fantastic - he was fun, professional, knew how to read the room, and kept the energy going all night. I wish we had found him before our wedding.
