I got married on June 22nd at the Longacre house! I just want to say thank you to Laurie for being the BEST!! This company truly rocks and Laurie is the friendliest, most patient person I’ve come across! Wedding season can be stressful!! My Husband and I planned our entire wedding alone.. With this being said, I really leaned on Laurie for her advice and professionalism and she went over and beyond to make sure I had the best day ever!! Laurie not only communicated with me multiple times throughout the week to make sure all my ideas and dreams were portrayed for the day of the wedding, she also checked in on me just to say “How are you feeling, Bride? Let me know if you need anything from me”. It’s the little things that goes unnoticed and I want Laurie to know- I noticed and I appreciate you! From changing my wedding date to having a LARGE wedding and wedding Party, Laurie kept her cool and stayed right there for it all. Thank you, Laurie.. For all that you do! I also want to shoutout this company! Many, Many, Many of my wedding guest came up to me during my wedding and after my wedding to tell me how amazing the food was!! A tremendous THANK YOU and job SO VERY WELL DONE executing our end of the summer Margaritaville party. We were able to enjoy our guests and relax knowing the event was in the best hands! Their service at our wedding was top notch! The food was amazing. All of our guests absolutely loved everything on our menu and many said it was the best catered meal they have had in a long time. Some even compared it to dinner at a five star restaurant. I would highly recommend them for any event you’re considering - you will not be disappointed!!!

We used Gourmet Express for a Celebration of Life. Laurie and her staff were excellent - responsive, helpful, courteous. The food was delicious and the servers were kind and gracious with our guests, many of whom were elderly. We received many compliments from our guests.

Gourmet Express catered our April bridal shower at the Longacre House and it was a great experience! They accomodated our requests for a plated brunch, and the food was absolutely delicous! The portions were very generous (quiche, potatoes and both bacon and sausage - all cooked perfectly). Absolutely beautiful fruit platters at each table. Our guests all raved about the quality and quantity of the food! Also, the service was perfect, staff was polite, efficient, friendly and attentive. We were extremely happy with everything and would happily use Gourmet Express Catering again!

Laurie (owner) and her team were absolutely outstanding. At 1st I was so nervous bc when we booked at the Hawk for our sons bar mitzvah. There was only 1 caterer we had to work with I didn’t know what to expect, but they not only won my trust but my friendship and I would hire them to do any event I would have from now on. Gourmet Express could compete with ANY venue or catering company you could think of. Our son and many of our friends have serious allergies and my son (bar mitzvah boy) breaks out due a food allergies often, cross contamination or chefs not being careful or food he can’t eat. Laurie and her team worked with us … wait bent over backwards so that my son & our friends could eat and NOT be sick. My son spent the entire day enjoying himself vs being itchy and uncomfortable, which is exactly what I wanted and they provided but was nervous of at 1st and bc of how amazing the staff at Gourmet Express was with us my son DID NOT get sick. And for that I’m so grateful!!! Ooh now the amount of food kept flowing. The taste was wonderful, even my pickiest eater of a friend loved the food. We never ran out, which happens a lot w/other caterers ive seen at bar(t) Mitzvah. The sushi OMG it was amazing everyone loved it. The food was hot, presented beautifully, tasted amazing. Everything about the food was great. Laurie and I came up with a signature drink for the day. Which was a big success as well. Laurie always was in communication with me the entire time from the start to finish and if there was something specific that we knew my son could eat that he wouldn’t get sick from they provided that specific brand. Very few caterer’s/ppl are that willing to be that flexible or understanding when you have as serious of allergies as my family does and to find someone who didn’t know anything about it and they would work with us to make the menu for him Means a lot. A bar Mitzvah is a once in a lifetime event and Gourmet Express helped make this experience to extra special b/c of the time & effort Laurie & her team put into making sure everything went off smoothly for our family

Working with Laurie was amazingly refreshing and she made everything flow smoothly! We worked with Laurie for My Daughters baby shower at The Longacre House. She offered a lot of assistance and insight, gave suggestions and had decoration ideas. The Food was amazing, we had the Chicken Piccata with Artichoke. The chicken was not over breaded and was so tender, oh my gosh very delicious! The staff helping the day of the Baby Shower, were on top of making sure everyone was taken care of. They were also very helpful and talked with us about things we may need and offered assistance. Very talented staff.

Working with this team was GREAT! The food was fabulous, the professionalism of the workers was top-notch, and the suggestions for the event from Missy were helpful and resulted in our baby shower being perfect.

We held a bridal shower at the Longacre House and Gourmet Express Catering provided the food and beverages as well as setup/ clean up. It was outstanding. Everyone raved about the food and atmosphere. I highly recommend Missy and her team for your next event.

We had a 90th birthday party for my mom and they did a great job! The food was very good and they were so helpful with everything. I would definitely use them again.

Laurie's team did a wonderful job on our luncheon. The food was excellent, especially for a buffet. The service was outstanding. they went above and beyond and everyone was friendly and made our event extra special. Planning process was very thorough and really helpful. table linens and basic mirror/candle centerpieces were perfect. Will definitely use this team again.

Everyone raved about the food (the taco bar for my event). But what was important for me as the host was the service. The staff was amazing. They made sure, when I was in panic mode, that "everything would be fine. Tend to your guest-we'll handle the rest." You can't find that now-a-days. I am sharing my experience with everyone.

Laurie is a very organized and helpful person, and this is coming from a very type A person. She was so easy to work with, kept us on track, stayed in constant communication. The day of she was a calming presence and had a great eye for detail - it’s obvious she’s experienced. you won’t go wrong with selecting gourmet express.

I've had two events catered by Gourmet Express - one at Longacre, one at a different locations. The food is excellent, the staff are professional, they are prompt and a joy to work with!

I hosted a Sunday buffet brunch at Longacre House in Farmington Hills for my husband's 70th birthday celebration and Gourmet Express is the catering company for this venue. They did an outstanding job in all respects, the food was delicious, and it was artfully arranged with generous portions. Laurie Kort was fabulous to work with. She was always available via email when I had questions, and she would reply promptly. Her written plans for the day were precise and detailed. Our event was a total success and people raved about the food! Before our event, we were invited to a "tasting" party at Longacre House where my husband and I were able to sample a variety of appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts that Gourmet Express makes for luncheon and dinner affairs. All of the dishes were delicious. I highly recommend Gourmet Express without reservation. Do not hesitate to book them for your next event.

Gourmet express catered the funeral luncheon for my Dad. Food was fabulous and Lori accommodated some unexpected things that came up after we arrived. She made it so easy for us and made things worry free. I would highly recommend them!

Gourmet Express Catering was the absolute best choice we made for our wedding day. Laurie Kort and her team were amazing to work with. She was our go to person for the months leading up to our event for literally everything. We had to build our reception from the ground up, including building out the kitchen. GEX took care of it all. Laurie was so quick to respond via text or email whenever we had questions and reached out to us even during the busy wedding season to check in even though we were still 6-8 months out from our wedding. And our day was the most beautiful day. Laurie brought our winter wonderland vision to life in ways we didn’t know we wanted! And the FOOD! Our guest are still raving that it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding hands down. They created a dessert table to die for, the thing was huge and every type of sweets you could possibly imagine. I really can’t say enough good things about them. Full service excellence from start to finish.

Missy from Gourmet Express Catering handled our daughters baby shower at the Longacre Farmhouse in Farmington Hills. She made me feel so comfortable coordinating this event from out of state. We were blown away by the delicious buffet, and the amazing sweets table. Our guests are still talking about how special this day was. Thank you for making our day celebrating our daughter and grand daughter to be so memorable.

We had an absolutely beautiful Engagement Party for my son and his fiancée at the Longacre House in Farmington Hills. And the owner and staff at Gourmet Express Catering facilitated the party by creating a delicious menu and delivering exemplary service. Laurie Kort, the co-owner and event organizer, was accommodating within reason and answered each text and email promptly. Laurie worked with me to create a personalized brunch menu. The pancake bar was a huge hit with the young and young at heart! Laurie was so kind through out the process and gave great suggestions. For example, we had 9 children under 10 years old attending the event and Laurie suggested that we use the sun porch as an activity room. It turned out to be genius. We had the families with young children sit at tables near the sun room and the children had fun in that room throughout the party. Our older guests were equally pleased and several commented on the children’s good behavior. The afternoon was enjoyable for all. Don’t hesitate to ask Laurie for suggestions! On the day of the event, the Gourmet Express staff assisted us the moment we stepped through the door. Gage immediately offered to help unload the table decorations from our vehicles. And one by one the rest of the staff introduced themselves and volunteered their services. Thank you to Missy, the 2 Brittneys, Emma, Bonnie, Regina, Liz, Gage, and Danny. I cannot say enough regarding the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. They were attentive without being intrusive. They assisted guests with mobility issues and the parents with young children as they navigated the buffet line. At the end of the afternoon, they did not make us feel rushed even though another event was scheduled for the evening. Thank you again for a wonderful afternoon. I highly recommend Gourmet Express. The food and the service can not be beat.

Gourmet Express went above and beyond, Missy helped me plan and organize everything from food, floor plans, and even decorations. My husband and I had to completely replan our wedding in three months due to our original venue falling through during the pandemic and without Missy I don’t think we would have been able to get it done. We didn’t even have time to taste the food and all people could rave about at our wedding was how good it was, especially the dessert table. I highly recommend using them.

We had our 55-guest reception at Longacre House in August. Missy and the staff at Gourmet Express exceeded our expectations. Not only were they professionally courteous, they were also genuinely helpful and caring about the small details. We can't say enough good things about Missy. From day 1 she was quick to respond to emails and offered tons of helpful suggestions as the reception got closer. We were able to relax and enjoy the wedding because Missy and staff orchestrated everything! Missy even helped the groom and groomsmen put on their boutonnieres. She had the evening timed out perfectly and never got flustered or irritated. The food was delicious, guests were raving about the appetizers (Spicer Package) and everyone enjoyed the friendly bartender with the British accent. At least 2 guests asked us for the name of our caterer before the night was over and we highly encouraged them to consider Gourmet Express for their events.

We contracted with GE for a Celebration of Life event for my mother. While I know this is not necessarily a wedding, their attention to detail, quality and professionalism would be just what every bride wants on their special day. Laurie and her team were an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. Through the timespan of our year and half long engagement, she helped us navigate going from a large 200+ person wedding pre-COVID, to a small intimate gathering with family and friends at a new venue with so much ease. Throughout our engagement, she made sure to check in with us at least weekly, if not, more often, to see how things were going and always kept us on track with planning. When we were a month out and had to pivot our whole wedding and venue, she handled it like a champion and we replanned our wedding in a flash. It was everything we could have dreamed of and MORE. Due to Covid , our daughter had to move her large wedding to a small intimate one in our backyard. We worked with Laurie for the planning and Missy was the person on site the day of the wedding. They are both wonderful to work with. They coordinated the setup, provided the staff, food, and beverages. Everyone was courteous, professional and friendly. The food was great. A lot of options. It made my life a lot easier. My daughter was so pleased. She thought the small wedding was so perfect, she is thinking of skipping her large celebration next year.

I had the pleasure of working with missy from gourmet express catering for my wedding and I can’t say enough good things! Due to covid restrictions , our wedding plans changed and missy stuck with us every step of the way and made our wedding dreams come true! Our indoor,100 guest wedding turned into a backyard 35 person wedding, and missy made it as easy and stress free as possible! Not only is the food amazing, with many options to choose from but the staff were all so courteous and kind and made my wedding a breeze for me ! We used them for a buffet style dinner and bar services as well as setup prior to our event . It put me at ease as a bride knowing that I had a reliable person setting up my decor just how I wanted it. All of the gourmet express staff were very personable. Her staff have a professional appearance and demeanor, you don’t even know they are there; everything is being taken care of unobtrusively. We looked up and the event was over and everything was put away and cleaned up. The day of the event Laurie was a very calming presence helping to reduce the inevitable last-minute jitters and redirected our nervous energy to positive anticipation. We were amazed at how much Laurie is able to accomplish at one time and how easy (and fun) she makes it seem. You can tell that her enthusiasm is genuine and that she really loves what she is doing. Everything is done with the goal of not only a wonderful event but of making it as easy as possible on her clients. We discussed what we wanted and Laurie provided it. As simple as that. She handles all the stressful logistics so that on the big day you just show up and have a wonderful time. She is an insurance policy for your peace of mind and an amazing experience. I have worked with Laurie on more than one occasion and she always goes above and beyond. I couldn’t imagine hiring anyone else for the job!

Our family has held their Christmas Party at Longacre House for the last 3 years and Gourmet Express has catered it. We can’t say enough good things about Laurie and her staff. Laurie is very prompt in answering texts and emails and helped us customize and personalize the party to meet our needs while still being warm and personable! Her staff anticipated our every need! And the food! Beef and chicken were very tender, veggies and potatoes were wonderful! And the dessert table was the big winner for both young and old! Highly recommend Gourmet Express!

Missy and gourmet express where amazing from the first meeting all the way to when my husband and me left Longacre after our wedding! She took all of the stress out of planning a wedding and made it so easy and fun! Even our photographer and DJ said they have never worked with such an organized and professional staff before. The food was amazing and we are still getting compliments to this day about the food and service. If you want to plan a stress free wedding definitely give them a call!!

My fiance' and I are getting married in two weeks and have been working with Missy at GEX since day one. She is experienced, knowledgeable and understands that every event will be its own, no "standards" here. She has met with us 3 separate times and has provided many more opportunities to meet if necessary but due to her excellent planning there is no need to meet again. I feel as though I do not have anything to worry about on the day of our wedding because she will be there all day ensuring that "we" have everything we need. Tasty food, fair price, great service and lovely presentation! When I began planning for my wedding, I was initially hesitant to use catering due to price and concerns on food quality. After working with Gourmet Express, I’m pleased to say my opinion has drastically changed. Missy was wonderful to work with! She ran a tight ship (meaning everything went according to plan and was beautifully put together). The food was amazing (especially the Prime Rib)! We chose a buffet style dinner and there were hardly any leftovers because everyone wanted to go back for second helpings. Any requests or questions I had prior to the event were answered promptly. Gourmet Express can also provide and coordinate linens if needed.

Missy and her crew went above and beyond to make my special day go off without a hitch! The food was amazing! 3 months after the wedding now and I still have people complimenting it! We did not get to eat very much, bride & groom standard, but my husband RAVES about the beef tips! His one regret is he didn't get to eat more of them! The crew was professional and helpful in so many ways! Anything I needed, they were there. Missy is probably the most amazing person ever! She offered to meet with me as many times as I needed to help sort out the wedding stress. She was my go-to person leading up to the big day and definitely on that day! So friendly and incredible! Can't say enough about her and the crew!!!

We had our wedding at Longacre House in October 2014. Outside caterers weren't allowed, so we had to go with Gourmet Express. I was a little disappointed because I really wanted some Mexican food at the wedding, but I quickly overcame that! Longacre House hosts an event called "Taste of Longacre" twice a year. You get to see how the house is set up for weddings, meet various vendors, and sample some dishes by Gourmet Express. Missy (event planner for Gourmet Express) raved about the Mushroom Ravioli. It sounded gross to me since I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms, but I was sadly mistaken - thankfully! That ravioli was out of this world! I ended up switching one of our two entrees to Mushroom Ravioli because I loved (yes love, not like) it that much. I was also able to sample some other entrees as well. The package we chose was buffet style, so everyone could chose what they wanted and didn't want - and could serve as much as they wanted. My husband and I didn't get to eat very much - standard from the bride & groom - but we were very please with the service and what we did get to eat. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

I can say enough positive things about Laurie and her crew. Laurie guided us throughout our planning, was very flexible and went the extra mile to ensure our day was very special. Everyone raved about the food (I highly recommend the Potatoes Gruyere) well beyond that night and no one went hungry. The bar service was spot on, and I heard no complaints from our guests on the premium bar or the drinks that came out of it.
