The majority of the issues I had regarded the initial hair and makeup trial and difficulty resolving those issues with the owner, Sophia. The first trial I had did not go well. It was in some kind of Reiki/Alternative Medicine studio in a tiny, dark room that was mostly occupied by a massage table and lots of eyeball decorations. This created a very strange atmosphere for a hair and makeup trial. The only mirror was at an angle to where my chair was, so I could not see how I looked until the end of the trial. My mom and I did not like how our hair and makeup turned out at the trial, but it was hard to give feedback throughout the process because we couldn’t see how we looked in the mirror. After the trial, I told Sophia I had some issues with how it turned out and that my mom was no longer interested in getting her hair and makeup done for the wedding. Sophia insisted that my mom had to get her hair and makeup done because her name was listed on the contract. My mom had not signed the contract, so I found this to be a strange argument. Ultimately, I decided it would be easier and less stressful to switch to a different stylist, so I asked to do so. Sophia tried to pressure me to stick with the first stylist, and I felt like my concerns were not being listened to. The lesson I learned from this was that I should not have signed the contract or paid the deposit before the trial. I highly recommend having a trial before signing a contract to brides looking for hair and makeup services. Eventually, I was moved to new hair and makeup artists and I was able to swap a different family member for my mom. Thankfully, I was allowed to have another trial for free, and this trial went so much better. The hair and makeup artists were so talented and kind, and they made up for a lot of the negatives throughout the process. My makeup artist went out of her way to make sure my bridesmaids and I got the exact look we wanted, and my hair stylist did a phenomenal job with everyone’s hair. I loved how I looked on my wedding day, despite all the obstacles, but I wish there had not been so much stress leading up to it.

the makeup. I give three stars only because myself (bride) was frustrated the day of my wedding. I paid a lot of money for the trial and obviously day of wedding services and my hair looked nothing like it did in the trial so that was a big let down for me. The point of a trial is to work out the kinks and it did the opposite. She took pictures so I’m not sure why she didn’t follow them. So my suggestion to brides is to have a picture of your trial ready in hand.

The only change I would have made would be to have had my curls a little bit more loose and not so tightly pulled back for my half-up do, but this was 100% a personal preference and request I could have made but did not, so nothing whatsoever against Graceful Beauty and the stylists! nted to have hair and make-up services after all. She was able to add a second artist and re do the day of schedule to accommodate everyone which was so kind of her. I was happy with my trial hair and make-up and eventually was happy with my day of services as well but was a little disappointed when my artist didn’t seem to remember the look we came up with. We were able to look at pictures and talk through what I was looking for in the moment. My hair was not turning out how the artist and I were thinking so she ended up taking it out and starting over which put us behind schedule but luckily the schedule Sophia created had some extra time built in and the photographer made up the rest of the time to get back on schedule. The final look we ended up with was beautiful and with the exception of a quick touch up on curls between pictures and the ceremony (we expected this because my hair doesn’t hold curl and took pictures outside on a windy day) everything stayed perfectly the whole day. The two artists were also very accommodating the day of when 4 extra girls asked for false lashes which was not originally planned - they helped without hesitation and did not charge me. Lastly, my mom is very picky and the artist who did her hair was very patient with her and helped her find a look she was happy with which is no small feat. Overall, I am happy with the services I received and would book through them again. I would just want to make sure the artist I worked with remembered what we talked about and did at the trial to make things go a little smoother with the hair. Make up was absolutely perfect!

hours and absolutely saved the day, she got trials for both services for myself and was excellent with communication. Her contract is so clear and you know exactly what you’re paying for! Also- her team was excellent- Tai and Lexcee for makeup, and Bree and Copper for hair. All 4 did an absolutely amazing job but special kudos to Tai who went above and beyond, she even stayed late to put together touch up kits for all the ladies. I am so thankful we chose graceful beauty and would recommend in a heartbeat!

lost. Sophia was the exact opposite. I wanted a glam look that accented my natural facial features but was light on powder. Sophia more than delivered! During my make up trial, she made sure that I absolutely loved the look and then recreated it perfectly weeks later. On the day of, she did five faces, four of them that she’d never seen before and everyone, including my 71 year old mom, looked like the very best version of themselves—everyone glowed. I felt gorgeous and I could not be happier with how we all looked.

t Sophia nailed the classy, timeless updo I envisioned. Sophia created a natural, but stunning makeup look on her first try! In the months leading up to the wedding, Sophia stayed in touch. She created a color coded schedule that included the stylist and a time slot. I filled in bridal party names and sent pictures of their natural hair and requested hairstyles. The day of the wedding, Graceful Beauty showed up on time at 11 am. At one point, we ran a little behind. Thankfully, there was extra time built into the schedule so we finished on time! Sophia paid careful attention to detail on my hair and makeup. My hair and makeup turned out perfectly and I couldn’t have felt more beautiful! My wedding day was 90 degrees and sunny. However, Graceful Beauty’s makeup withstood tears and sweat. Normally, I have a shiny spot on my face, but Graceful Beauty’s makeup covered it up the whole night. During bride and groom pictures around 6 pm, my left eyelash started to fall off. Luckily, my MOH quickly fixed it before the reception. Additionally, pieces of my updo fell out while I was dancing, but it wasn’t noticeable in pictures. Overall, working with Graceful Beauty was a wonderful experience and I’d recommend them for any special event you have coming up!
