We thoroughly enjoyed our wedding hosted at Gracie's on 8/16/24. We had both our ceremony and reception there, and worked with Maria and Jamie. The process was seamless and we found the coordinators to be extremely communicative and helpful. The wedding was beautiful and they accommodated all of our requests. They also helped us out in identifying additional vendors such as our DJ, which really helped us in the planning process. The food was delicious and the place itself barely needed to be decorated because it is already stunning. We would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a non-traditional, dinner party/cocktail style reception (we had 85 ish people). It was a lot of fun and there was lots of dancing! Thank you again to the Gracie's staff and Maria and Jamie!
Wow! My husband and I just have no words. We could have not had the most greatest wedding…ever! Mariah and Courtney we just can’t thank them enough. Courtney was our day of coordinator and Mariah really became our wedding planner for every last detail! Even though there was a few bumps on our day, Courtney was able to fix everything flawlessly! My list of allergies and dietary restriction were beyond accommodated!! My mother has Alzheimer’s who they were also very careful to also help. The food…don’t even get me started!!! We are still dreaming about our wedding food!!!! From the ice cream bar, gummy bears, and the drinks were fab!!! All of the saf were amazing that night, they were all so kind, and great dance partners! If you are looking for a place all in one for under 100 people..you will not be disappointed! We can’t wait to return for the nostalgic memory! Thank you Gracie’s. For being the best day of our lives!!
Gracie's Providence was the dream venue for our reception. From the beginning, Maria Ritchey (Private Events and Hospitality Leader) made everything easy- she is extremely organized, kind, detail-oriented, thoughtful and a pleasure to work with. She quickly understood our vision for the evening and guided us on all of the necessary decisions, from deciding on the style (cocktail vs sit down dinner), providing recommendations on flowers/cake/photographers, making our signature cocktails, and ensuring the night went off without a hitch. The room was beautifully decorated on our arrival, the waitstaff was professional, attentive, and generous with their time and energy, and the whole night was SO MUCH fun.
Importantly, you should choose Gracie's for a more intimate wedding celebration if your priority is good food and drink. The food is PHENOMENAL. The team didn't miss a beat transforming from my favorite restaurant in Providence to an efficient dining staff that handled a custom, multi-course, "family style" dinner for our 90 guests. Each bite was better than the next and our guests raved about the quality of the food, the presentation, the amazing cocktails and wine, and the service. Some highlights: sitting down with Chef Matt to create a custom menu, the sea bass, the mini filet tenderloins, the amazing charcuterie/cheese platter, the chocolate pot-de-cremes, and the gnocchi (of course). Our signature cocktails were flavorful, unique crowd-pleasers, and the classic cocktails/wine/beer were all fantastic.
In short, Gracie's was amazing. There is no better place for a small(ish) wedding celebration in Providence- the food, service, ambience, and drinks were outstanding and it was the most special night for my husband and I along with our loved ones. We give Gracie's our strongest recommendation.
Any questions?
We had high expectations coming into our wedding day, but somehow our experience at Gracie’s blew them out of the water. The space was beautiful, the food impeccable, and the drinks delicious (truly, did not know wedding food or an open bar could be like this). We were blown away by the level of attentiveness, kindness, and quality of service from every single staff member at Gracie’s. Our guests RAVED about every single aspect of the reception, but the reflection coming up repeatedly is how every single member of the staff at Gracie’s was categorically amazing.
The venue coordinator Maria is an absolute delight; attentive, kind, interested, and a pleasure to collaborate with. We knew we could trust her (and Gracie's) with our vision, loved ones, and such a special day in our lives. Could not recommend them more!
We had our rehearsal dinner at Gracie's site unseen and, my god, it could not have gone better!!
The venue?? Gorgeous! The food?? Delicious! The cocktails?? Tasty AND curated exactly for us?! It is insane.
A huge huge huge thank you to Maria for making everything happen so smoothly, for answering all of our questions as they came, and for putting on a perfect rehearsal dinner for us!! ALSO a giant thank you to Will for being our bartender for the night! We have some rowdy friends and he managed us all beautifully.
We will definitely be coming back to Gracie's for anniversary dinners for the rest of our lives!!!
My husband and I wanted a fun wedding reception to follow our ceremony at the nearby Providence Athenaeum. We wanted a non-sit down dinner with lots of drinks and dancing and Gracie's--thanks to Kendal--delivered that and more.
First, about Kendal, the on-site event coordinator. She was an absolute dream to work with, especially since my husband and I live and work in NYC with somewhat difficult work schedules. While I grew up in RI and already loved Gracie's, she made the decision easier and we picked Gracie's the first weekend we started looking at venues.
Second, the experience. We wanted a fun reception for our mostly out-of-town (and even out-of-country) guests with great food and drinks that wouldn't stop flowing. They worked with us to have an awesome list of a mix of passed appetizers and other foods (and a gnocchi bar). My personal favorite was that, being from RI, the chef was able to make a "stuffie station."
I also have celiac disease and felt very comfortable with the staff and prep that I wouldn't get sick. They also handled a handful of other dietary needs with ease (again, shout out for that awesome "stuffie station" with gluten free ones for me).
I cannot stress enough how much I personally did not and do not care about linens and other decorating details. Gracie's handled that all and the venue just looked gorgeous.
We also had about 115 guests overall, which seems like a lot, but the main floor worked perfectly for the dance party wedding atmosphere we were going for.
Thank you again to to Kendal and the entire staff at Gracie's for such an amazing experience. I cannot speak highly enough of this amazing restaurant and can't wait to stop by next time we're in Providence.
My Husband always frequents Gracie's for dinners with clients. Based on his experiences, he decided to take me there for our first date. We've frequented Gracie's several times since due to their exceptional service and amazing cuisine. It was an easy decision to choose Gracie's as our destination for our rehearsal dinner. The dinner was hosted downstairs in their private room. The room had plenty of space for mingling and our own bar just for us. Everyone was raving about the food. From the duck, to the raw bar, to the duck fat corn bread, everything was absolutely amazing! Above all else, the service was great! Even though we did not choose Octopus for our set menu, the servers had no problem serving it to my mother-in-law when requested. It was an amazing night and really set the stage for the amazing wedding to come! We would plan another event here in a heart beat!
Hmmm.. Where to start. My husband and I were married Sunday Nov 10, 2019. Our reception was at Gracie's restaurant and we had 83 guests attend. First off - Gracie's event coordinator, Kendal, was the reason wedding planning never became a burden. She honestly handled EVERYTHING. Any questions we had throughout the planning process were answered promptly. A few weeks before our event we changed a few pieces of our menu.. Kendal had it under control. I was worried that the space would feel very cramped but there was more than enough room. Guests were up on their feet dancing as soon as our dinner service ended. Now the restaurant staff - they went above and beyond. From the bartenders to the waitstaff, to the amazing chef and kitchen staff. When we arrived, we were able to steal a few minutes alone in the wine cellar where Kendal had glasses of champagne waiting for us. We did not join our cocktail hour so Kendal had a tray of hors d'oeuvres waiting for us at our table. Our guests raved about the food, drinks and service. No word of a lie, we were receiving calls all day Monday about the amazing food. I cannot recommend this venue enough.
When my husband and I first reached out to Kendal she was wonderful and a pleasure to work with. We looked at the space and we loved it. There was nothing we could really complain about and the prices were pretty reasonable too. The week of the wedding was when some things started to go down hill. My wedding was on a Saturday and I reached out to Kendal on the Wednesday morning before the wedding just to clear up a few details and confirm guest count. When we first booked the space we were told that we could come and set things up early morning the day of. I reached out to Kendal just to make sure that we could go early morning on Saturday the day of the wedding to set up. I didn't hear back till Saturday at 10am which was on my wedding day, needless to say I was pretty stressed because I also had to get ready. I ended up actually going to Gracies on Friday afternoon to check up and see what was going on. I was greeted by Jessie who is Kendal's assistant (never knew about Jessie or given her contact information) Jessie was very nice and told me that Kendal was actually off for a few days but I was never aware, So I asked Jessie all the questions I had asked Kendal in my email from Wednesday 1. Would I be able to come and set up in the morning? to which she answered no, there won't be anyone here until 1pm I was freaking out because my hair and makeup were scheduled for 2pm but I worked something out. My second question was: Would we be allowed to arrive about 30 minutes early with family to take some photos? To which Jessie said no problem at all. That was great until I received an email from Kendal Saturday (wedding day) at 10am telling me that there will be a charge of $75 to arrive early. Wedding day gets here and we are all having dinner, my father ordered the steak and the waiter tells him that they do not have enough steaks and he would have to order something else. I also advised Kendal that the photographer would be having dinner with us and she said that was fine, the day of the wedding I was told they did not have a plate for him. Overall we had a great time with a few bumps in the road that were pretty stressful and last minute.
Kendal was extremely helpful! She is professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. All of her suggestions were perfect. Gracie’s food is a.m.a.z.i.n.g and their cake was so yummy. The entire staff went above, beyond and then some. They didn’t miss a beat. I couldn’t have been happier. Truly. I couldn’t recommend them more.
We had our wedding (ceremony & reception) at Gracie's in the main restaurant (not the smaller private dining space downstairs). From the moment we first contacted Kendal, the event coordinator, we knew we were in good hands. She's a phenomenal communicator and was expert in helping us to realize our vision for the day. Every aspect of the planning process was stress-free and the event itself was flawless. Our 75 guests were absolutely in love with the food, the decor, the friendliness of the staff-- everything! And the cake!! Oh my, the cake that Ellie's bakery made for us was a dream! We're truly over the moon with how spectacular the day was. Thank you, Gracie's team!
I don’t even know where to begin! My husband and I got married at Gracie’s this past Saturday and it was perfection thanks to Kendal and her team!!!! From our first interaction via email I knew it was going to be amazing. We instantly fell in love with the intimate private dining room, fell in love even more after our tasting, and then fell head over heels the night of our wedding. The setup, decor, and ambiance was more than I ever imagined...I walked in and got teary-eyed because it was so magical. All of our guests raved about the service, food, and drinks!!! I cannot recommend Gracie’s enough!!!!
My husband and I are so lucky we found Gracie's in our search for a wedding reception venue - the entire experience, from initial inquiry all the way through the night itself, just could not have been better. First of all, the on site events manager, Kendal, was not only incredibly detailed and thorough, but also so friendly and approachable - she and Jessie, the events assistant, made the planning process go so smoothly that we truly felt completely ready and relaxed as the countdown to the wedding day reached 0.
The reception itself was absolutely spectacular thanks to Kendal and the entire Gracie's event staff (including those at their sister bakery, Ellie's, which made our delicious cake) - not only did my husband and I enjoy every minute of it, but we're still hearing from our guests about how much they loved the food (delicious and full of unique touches), the atmosphere (so cozy, especially with their Christmas decorations - we didn't buy any floral arrangements because the space itself is beautiful as is), and the hospitality (top notch - the servers and all the staff were friendly, professional, and thoughtful, and managed to make everyone feel both at home and completely taken care of).
I can't recommend Gracie's enough!
I don't even know where to begin. Gracie's was filled with the most responsive, detail oriented, kind, supportive and flexible staff imaginable. As a pretty low key (read disorganized) bride they made my wedding happen. It was gorgeous, fun, so professional, VERY delicious and beautiful. Kendal helped me every step of the way through wedding planning and answered all of my silly questions with such enthusiasm. From the first meeting to being there the night of my wedding Kendal and the staff were phenomenal to work with. The process of planning a wedding could not have been easier with Gracie's and they ensured the whole day ran smoothly. My guests were raving about the food, including my father who was a chef, and everyone was so full and well fed with quality tasty food the entire night. They accommodated several of my guests with food allergies and picky eaters. The staff was understanding and knowledgable about all of the allergens and ingredients of the food. The bread there made me tear up it was so good. The prices were comparable to other wedding venues which was a pleasant surprise for an upscale restaurant. They also had the most flexible open bar options to choose from. They saved us hor d'oeuvres to have when we arrived on our wedding day along with our preferred drinks, and they left small treats for my guests in their cars. They had the menus customized with our names, and guests were able to choose their meals the night of. There were so many more details they did to make our day perfect. You will not be disappointed with how above and beyond this gem of a wedding venue goes for all couples getting married!
We've always dined at Gracie's for special occasions (Valentine's, anniversaries), but they did an amazing job with our rehearsal dinner as well! Kendal is absolutely the best when it comes to communication. She responded to every question I had (I am overtly paranoid with every detail) and ensured things would run smoothly. The complimentary tasting is exactly as we expected, just as amazing as it is to dine there for any other occasion.
The night of the rehearsal dinner was gay pride and a parade was scheduled to pass by the restaurant, but Kendal coordinated with the valet to ensure that we'll be able to make it in without a problem. We really appreciated her responsiveness, as we were nervous the parade would block us out.
The dinner itself was fabulous. The decor was simple yet had a nice ambience, the wait staff were very friendly, courteous, and professional, and catered to our every needs to make sure everyone had a wonderful evening. They always made we (bride and groom) were doing ok, and checking in periodically throughout the night, which was very reassuring.
Overall, Gracie's never disappoints, and will always be our restaurant to return to for special occasions. Their quality in food and service, from the wait staff to the valet, are unmatched and maintain that quality through their wedding events.
Gracie's did the most amazing job I could have imagined at making my dream rehearsal dinner come true! They catered an off-site rehearsal dinner, and their entire staff was absolutely awesome! The food was amazing, and my guests are still raving about it. I would recommend Gracie's to anyone and everyone!
Gracie’s is one of our favorite restaurants in Providence, and it only seemed fitting that we hold our wedding reception there. Everything about the event was perfect from the pre-planning stages through the night of the event. The food at Gracie’s is phenomenal, and for our wedding it was no different. We decided on a cocktail reception with free-flowing food (some stations) and drinks. While we did not have enough physical seats/tables for all guests, one would not have noticed. The staff at Gracie’s is top notch, and almost every guest commented on this aspect (as well as the food). The events coordinator, Kendal, was extremely responsive and helped to execute the vision described. The food was delicious, and the cocktails were great.
We can’t say enough great things about Gracie’s. From Kendal to chef Matt to all the servers, they were amazing. We can’t wait to hold another event there and neither can our friends (anniversary party perhaps?). Looking forward to many more celebrations to come at Gracie’s.
We hosted our November wedding reception at Gracie's and they did a spectacular job. I was nervous planning my wedding from over 1000 miles away But from the moment I made contact with Kendal Fitzsimmons, Gracie's even Coordinator, I felt confidant that Gracie's would take care of me. The food was out of this world, with lovely little touches, such as small bites between courses. Kendal also did an amazing job interpreting my vision for the night. My guests loved the food and the romantic feel of the private event space. The bartenders did a wonderful job with our open bar, which showcased two delicious signature drinks with high quality spirits. Everything about the evening was so well executed by Gracie's team and we were consistently surprised by their little touches (like including our photo on the menu) and the beautiful little cake station they provided for our guests.
thank you again for a wonderful and memorable night!
Selecting Gracie's as the site for our reception is definitely the best decision we could have made for our 30 person wedding. It's our favorite special occasion restaurant, but we were hesitant to approach them because of pricing concerns (we were graduate students at the time). However, after contacting a few venues, we were disappointed in the quality of food and facilities. We sent a message to Gracie's about our interest, and were connected with Kendal Fitzsimmons, the event coordinator.
Kendal is an basically our fairy godmother of wedding planning! We don't have much experience with these matters, and she was on top of details we hadn't thought about. In fact, when we met with her for the first time, she asked if we had selected a venue yet. When we said no, she volunteered the rooftop site where Gracie's has their culinary garden. We had been up there for a tasting the year before and knew how gorgeous it was. It didn't hurt that it was being offered for FREE if we were done in an hour. Sold! Over the course of months leading up to the wedding, Kendal remained in contact with us, checking in on our changing needs. She was exceptionally responsive to emails and helped calm our anxieties. Meeting with the head chef and head pastry chef at Ellie's was a privilege I don't think would be available at most other restaurants. There was even a complimentary tasting. One of us is gluten-free, and almost the whole dining menu and all of the desserts were gluten-free.
The day of the wedding was phenomenal. Kendal made sure that all the guests and vendors found their way to the rooftop and the ceremony went off with nary a hitch. She even had champagne waiting for us! The table arrangement with a dance floor and full private bar was perfect. Everyone said it was the best wedding food they ever had, and we 100% agree. Do not be afraid of cost-- Gracie's was the lowest bid we received, best we could have ever hoped for. Kendal alone is worth it!
