Gramercy Mansion is a historic mansion estate that hosts weddings, based in Baltimore, MD. Located only 20 minutes from downtown Baltimore and one hour from Washington, this location offers a tranquil and intimate haven for celebrations. The mansion itself is nestled amid 45 acres of lush grounds, embellished with flowers and topiary. Scattered with walkways, this venue is ideal for nature and animal lovers alike, as it allows dogs to be present at the ceremony.
The property offers a range of indoor and outdoor event spaces for couples, including the mansion, the gardens, and a carriage house. The manor was built in a classic Tudor style, with decorative timbering and brick chimneys, and includes a stunning atrium. An enclosed location, the atrium ceilings can be draped with voile and bistro lights to create a romantic feel. Alternatively, couples can choose to wed in the Carriage House. Featuring French doors leading out to a private courtyard, complete with a picturesque fountain, couples will have use of the three rooms in the Carriage House.
Gramercy Mansion caters to all ceremony types and offers on-site accommodation for guests. The mansion boasts a range of 11 guest rooms and suites, each with its own charming features. A wheelchair-accessible room is also available. Before the wedding, couples can avail of a complimentary rehearsal. As the team does not facilitate catering for events, they provide a choice of trusted caterers for couples to choose from. Both the mansion and the carriage house have catering kitchens for the chosen caterer to use. The team can provide tables and chairs for up to 150 guests, with additional items available to rent. They can also offer a list of preferred vendors to assist couples in planning the big day. This includes services such as event planners, decorations, florists, officiants, entertainment, live musicians, photographers, and videographers. To commemorate this momentous occasion, couples can also choose to add their names to the wedding pathway, with an engraving on their own brick. Frozen in time, their names will be added to a list of happy couples who have walked before them, and provide a foundation for those who will come after.

As soon as we stepped foot into the Gramercy, we knew that is where we wanted to get married. We were looking for a a unique venue that would accommodate the different needs of our guests, and the Gramercy provided that to us. We loved the historical feel of the mansion and how magical the and romantic the grounds are. The gardens were extremely beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and cocktail hour, while the decor inside the mansion made our nighttime reception feel unique. Our guests had a great time and raved about how beautiful everything was.
Not only is the Gramercy a beautiful venue, but the staff is extremely kind and helpful. They were extremely responsive to us and made everything very easy for our guests as well. Our entire wedding weekend went off without a hitch, and we are so grateful that the Gramercy made our wedding day so special.
When we found the Gramercy Mansion as a venue and then actually had our reception here, I don’t think anywhere else would have compared. The garden landscape is beautiful. The grounds and the mansion itself is elegant, the rooms inside are beautiful, there is so much to see like the antiques, paintings and the general decor is such that no extravagant decorations are needed. The staff was also very professional and easy to work with through the whole planning process.
Gramercy Mansion was the perfect location for our reception. The gardens provided a beautiful backdrop for our outdoor photos and the indoor decor made the reception unique. We did not need many extra decorations because the Mansion is already stunning. We and the guests enjoyed having different rooms to explore and having seating throughout the first floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful with every step of the planning process. It was a definite plus that I was able to stay at Gramercy Mansion the night before the wedding, use the suite to get ready the morning of the wedding, and that we were able to stay the night after the wedding. Highly recommend the Gramercy Mansion for your event!
Before deciding on Gramercy Mansion, we toured nearly 20 wedding venues in Baltimore and surrounding areas. We were very nervous when we finally made a decision to book Gramercy, but this decision turned out to be one of the best ones we have made in our lives.
We booked the Platinum Wedding Weekend Package. This allowed us to have full access to the mansion Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. We highly recommend this package as, even though it is more expensive, it allows you to get up to 30 of your closest friends and family together for the entire weekend, not just the wedding itself. Leading up to the weekend, we asked nearly 100 questions via email. Each email was answered quickly and without a sense that we were being obnoxious with our questioning. They were there to help and that was a comforting feeling leading up to our wedding weekend.
Upon arrival on Friday afternoon, Gramercy staff immediately came out to help unload our cars and get everything situated before the rest of our guests arrived. Every staff member was incredibly kind and helpful and really contributed to our magical weekend. They continued to be helpful throughout the weekend, including printing our wedding vows the day of our ceremony!
Everything from the mansion staff to the grounds and everything in between was everything we could have hoped for. If you are considering booking Gramercy Mansion for your wedding weekend, you will not be disappointed. It was absolutely incredible!
Gramercy Mansion. Wow.
The Gramercy team is exceptional.
As I am an odd combination of a happy-go-lucky optimist and an anxiety-ridden perfectionist, I walked through many venues with a romantic and a critical eye. Each venue we toured held great possibilities and also some concerns. Here were/are my thoughts on Gramercy:
The Great:
Each room inside of the mansion is stunning. The dark wood, furnishings, and antiques create a cozy, elegant, and unique atmosphere. The gardens are gorgeous, and you can tell the staff takes pride in the upkeep of the natural beauty, even opting to make the atrium a sort of greenhouse. Each staff member we met was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. Rain plans were also beautiful and would not feel like something forced.
The Worries vs Reality:
--”Oh no, we won’t really be able to have an after party…”~ Good. It saved us and preserved our memories of our special day. And we were able to have a mini-after-party with our closest friends and family members. Some guests went to the Valley Inn to continue the party, but we opted to stay at the Mansion.
--“I wish the dance floor was in the middle of the dining space so people will join us to dance.” ~ Not an issue. Our DJ called guests into the room for dancing to see our first dance and parent dances and immediately people jumped in when invited. In fact, guests said they enjoyed that dinner, dancing, lobby (with guestbook, photobooth), and desserts/coffee were all in nearby but different rooms. It gave an impression of intimacy and connectedness without being all one big open space.
Reflections:
~Breakfast is delicious! Get an extra serving of the banana pancakes and cheesy eggs.
~The boys got ready in the Tudor Room, and the girls got ready in the Cassatt Suite. These were great choices for the spaces and décor of each room.
~While the atrium can fit 150, we had 100 guests, and it was perfect for that amount of people without being cramped.
~We rented out the entire Mansion for a Friday night wedding. It perfectly housed our wedding party and immediate family. Most of the party opted to spend the night Thursday after the rehearsal (which was at Gramercy) and rehearsal dinner (at a restaurant in Towson), which allowed us all to gather at the outdoor pool and enjoy catching up even more. We fell asleep, woke up, got ready, got married, and fell asleep again all at our venue. This was SO wonderful. I highly suggest this to anyone!
~Go shopping! Meander the halls and enjoy the art, glass, books, and other trinkets.
~We hope to spend many anniversaries at Gramercy to walk through the gardens and relive our happiest memories.
Thank you Gramercy for making our wedding something we think back on and just smile, smile, smile.
As the mother of the bride (and wedding planner) I was very happy with the Gramercy as the venue for our daughter's wedding. It is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed fantastic weather and fall gardens in bloom. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how lovely the setting was. The ceremony was outside on the terrace, cocktail hour inside and outside, dinner in the atrium and then dancing in the "living room". I was skeptical at first about the multi-room layout (different than what is traditional in my family), but it was perfect, allowing dancing in one place and intimate conversation in another. Lots of spaces for special treats - craft beer tasting in one room, dessert in another. Older guests enjoyed watching the dancing while being a room away sitting comfortably on couches and upholstered chairs.
With everything being a la cart, it does take a bit more coordination than other all inclusive venues, but well worth it!
Choosing to have the ceremony and wedding at Gramercy Mansion made the fairytale wedding come true! Beautiful, breathtaking event!!!
This place was absolutely beautiful! We had a few issues with the cable but other then that the staff was nice the breakfast was delicious!!! I would definitely recommend this place for weddings and anniversaries!!!!
~Super Value, Unforgettable Memories~
We saved 75%!! Booked our wedding within 2 months (saved 50%), and we had our wedding on Sunday (saved 50% vs Saturday). We could not have been more happy, and the 50% off stay overnight was fabulous; we loved our Jacuzzi spa tub, and heated floor room. Definitely hire Doves for Love, we had a tiny owl and falcon up with our wedding party during the ceremony!
Our October wedding was even more beautiful than we envisioned. We always wanted to get married in an old mansion or manor, and Gramercy was absolutely perfect for us. The mansion and grounds are so stunning that you don't need to overdo it with pinterest boards and etsy shops. Although our budget for the wedding was humbler than some, the wedding ended up looking expensive, timeless, and absolutely enchanting. Couldn't recommend this venue enough!
We really struggled to find the right venue for our wedding. We did hours of research, visited venues of all shapes and sizes but just couldn’t find one that felt like us. That was, until we walked into the Gramercy during an open house they had this spring. It was absolutely perfect. We loved the decor - fun antiques all over the place, the artwork, the various rooms for guests to explore, and the beautiful gardens. We really appreciated how they had videos and photo albums of the garden during every month of the year. It was extremely helpful to see what the grounds would look like in September when while we were exploring the venue in February. Finally, we could not have been more impressed with the customer service the staff offered us throughout the wedding planning process. Any time we emailed with a question the staff responded within hours, it was so helpful when we were coordinating with other vendors.
Paul and I fell in love with The Gramercy Mansion from the first moment we stepped foot on the property for a wedding expo. The Gramercy’s warm and cozy vibes were just what we were looking for our wedding to have. We opted for the Exclusive Wedding Package for the ceremony, reception, and all 11 guest rooms. This was absolutely one of the easiest and best decisions of the whole wedding! Having everything in once place, and without having to worry about another wedding taking place on our wedding day, allowed us to really relax and feel “at home” at The Gramercy. Our ceremony took place in the beautiful Atrium, with cocktail hour in the house as our catering team transformed the Atrium into a gorgeous dining room for our 120 guests. With 11 bedrooms, our entire wedding party and both sets of parents were able to stay in the Mansion after the wedding, allowing for truly intimate wedding experience. Breakfast in the morning was incredible, and the A+ service from all of the staff was out of this world. A big special THANK YOU to Jenna and Crystal from The Gramercy for their support and all they did to make our stay and wedding extra special. We will definitely be returning as guests!
I am a long time customer of Gramercy Mansion Bed and Breakfast and also an employee for the past couple years. I loved the colorful gardens during the end of summer/fall so I chose October 5, 2019 for our wedding date. Any time of year is beautiful there. We loved the option for reserving all 11 overnight guest rooms for our out of town bridal party and family to stay after the wedding and have breakfast together in the morning. I also reserved the Cassatt Suite for my wedding night and the night before so I had all morning to get ready in it with my bridesmaids. It made things so easy to be getting ready on site. The catering list to choose from has so many different options, there's no way you wouldn't be able to find one that works for your menu, culture, and budget. The staff and grounds were amazing. All of our guests have been raving weeks later that it was the best wedding they've ever been too. The atmosphere, the gardens, the reception space, and the charm of the mansion. The guests were blown away. I definitely recommend this for a ceremony and reception venue for all couples! They are inclusive and kind to everyone! This is a day I will never forget, everything was perfect, not one single hiccup. You and your family will love it!
My whole family fell in love with Gramercy Mansion on our first walk through. The bed and breakfast has so much character. We felt right at home among the quirky sculptures and walls covered in art. The gardens are beautiful and the foliage makes it feel relatively cool, even on hot days.
The various spaces guests can use during the wedding reception make Gramercy different than most venues we toured. Guests could be chatting outside in the gardens, taking a long dinner in the dining room, chilling on the couches in the lovely front rooms, or partying on the dance floor. Sometimes when venues have just one large space it becomes too loud to do anything other than dance. Gramercy’s layout gave our guests the flexibility to do what made them happiest at any one time.
We also stayed overnight at the B+B along with some of our guests from far away. The reception ended early enough so that we could wind down the night with these friends by the pool - a perfect ending to our wedding day. The breakfast the next morning was also delicious! Especially the pancakes!
Gramercy’s staff was outstanding - super helpful and responsive with great recommendations for vendors. I’m so happy we were able to celebrate our wedding in such a memorable and special place.
Having our wedding at Gramercy Mansion was an absolute dream! The staff was helpful, communicative and supportive throughout the planning process. We had our closest friends stay at the mansion on Friday and Saturday evening and they are still raving about the rooms and the overall
experience. We could not have been happier!
We loved having our wedding at Gramercy!
We reserved the inn for our close friends and family. The breakfast the day after was wonderful!
The staff at Gramercy are very helpful and kind.
If you are looking for a romantic, convenient and fun spot to have a wedding Gramercy is the place for you!
We looked high and low for affordable wedding venues with a beautiful outdoor space in Maryland, and we’re so glad we went with Gramercy Mansion! It’s sort of tucked into a forest so it’s very private, but it’s only a few minutes’ drive from the highway so it’s easy to drive to. Gramercy. Is. BEAUTIFUL! When we first went to the venue we saw both ceremony locations, and we had trouble choosing between the two because they were both such pretty gardens! Eventually we decided on the Carriage House located right across from the main mansion because of the reception space. The Carriage House has a few indoor rooms for dancing, food, and seating, but the patio is what sold us. The building surrounds a patio with bistro lights, a fountain, and a bunch of potted plants. The weather was perfect that day, so we got to eat outside around the fountain—everyone loved it and the lighting and flowers made the whole evening very romantic. The venue was always quick to respond to questions or concerns via email, and they worked with us to make sure we could decorate in a timely manner before the wedding. They also gave the wedding couple 50% off a room in their bed and breakfast the night of the wedding, which we took advantage of. We used that room for the girls to get ready, while the guys got ready in the newly-renovated carriage house’s getting ready room. We couldn’t have found a more perfect venue.
My experience on my wedding day was pretty good. Venue was beautiful and this was definitely a memorable day. My officiant Crystal was beyond amazing. My only complaint was that my ceremony was a bit rushed.
We had our wedding at the Carriage House at the Gramercy Mansion. The space is absolutely beautiful. Our guests really enjoyed the location and everything it has to offer.
We decided to have our dinner on the patio and use one of the rooms for the dance floor and the other for our photo booth. The weather wasn’t exactly clear the day of our wedding so after a last minute call, we decided to do it outside. As we were enjoying a Mariachi band during cocktail hour, it started to rain. Our wonderful wedding coordinator, Brian Scott, from Sasha’s Catering tracked the wedding and with the help of the Gramercy staff, they decided to wait for the rain to pass. The chairs got a little wet for about five minutes while it rained. As soon as the rain was over, the Gramercy and Sasha’s staff changed all the cushions for the chairs and it was like nothing ever happened. We proceeded with the dinner and celebration as scheduled. We are deeply grateful for the professionalism and attention to detail of the Gramercy staff. My husband and I knew we were in good hands so we did not worry. My husband jokes he got a small “wedding shower” on our wedding date. Do yourself a favor and check out Gramercy, you won’t regret it.
The Gramercy Mansion is a truly lovely wedding venue. We had an outside spring wedding and the grounds and gardens were beautiful. Our pictures are fantastic. The staff at Gramercy do their best to make your wedding the best ever and overcome all obstacles. Our wedding party stayed at the Bed and Breakfast overnight and it added to the fun. The mansion exudes a warm and charming atmosphere. We liked the options for guests who did not wish to dance at the reception. We couldn't be happier with our choice of Gramercy for our wedding.
The only reason it's not a 5 star rating is because I feel like they need an event coordinator on staff. Someone who has seen weddings done at this venue before & who can help guide the bridal party through a process with which they may all be unfamiliar. What little staff we dealt with were fantastic, but once the wedding started, we were all on our own.
Also, while we paid extra for exclusive use of the mansion on our wedding day, there was another bridal party there in the morning taking pictures (under the arbor that we paid for and set up) & performing some kind of ceremony. There were also several guests from the carriage house, I think, who I'm assuming were family members of the owner, who were using the pool and traipsing through our reception area as the caterer was trying to set up, which I did not appreciate...
However, at the end of the day, I was married to the most amazing man in a truly beautiful setting. Completely gorgeous and exactly what my husband & I were looking for! Every room was unique and the gardens outside were the perfect backdrop for our pictures.
Our wedding at the Gramercy was amazing, everything we wanted and more. We looked at a few “Mansions” when we started visiting venues, each of which fell short. I instantly fell in love with this venue from the pictures of the gardens and the atrium, after our first visit I knew it was the one and my husband fell in love to. He loved the historic charm of the B&B a was hooked once he saw all of the common rooms and their attention to detail, the place felt like a real home. We loved the idea of allowing our guest places to sit and socialize, the adventure of walking the mansion and the opportunity to wonder the gardens ! The staff there is amazing and always so welcoming , I mentioned “our first visit” because over the year and a half of your engagement, after booking we visited many times , we say we would live there if we could lol. Each time we visited or called we were greeting with warmth, everyone was so helpful. We stayed two nights and the breakfast each morning was an amazing fest. The rooms have everything you’ll need and the staff was very attentive. Our entire family and wedding party felt at home. The day of the wedding the staff was just as invested as we were in crating a smooth and magical event, any reasonable request was accommodated. Our plan was to have an outside ceremony however Mother Nature had planned for rain. It was unfortunate but I had no worries as the rain plan to have the ceremony in the atrium was just a beautiful as if it were out on the terrace area. If you want bridal and groom suits we recommend budgeting for individual rooms for two nights it may seem unnecessary or over the top while your planning but in the grand scheme of things , it is an important day and we found that being onsite the day of was the best thing we could have done to minimize the chaos. They have lots of advice in room recommendations and will give you a tour of each room. We would 100% do it all over again
What a beautiful setting for a
Fairytale wedding ceremony and reception. This venue was beautiful and somehow they even got a rainy morning to turn into blue skies in time for the ceremony! The Gramercy employees were always on hand and helpful. Both the bride (my daughter) and the groom and parents stayed in their beautiful rooms after the reception.
The venue is so pretty in fall. My guests enjoyed the beautiful venue and we had a great time! We stayed over night and their breakfast was also good.
I got married here on 9.14.18 in the mansion. The venue is absolutely beautiful. The staff was very accommodating the day of the wedding. They were also always just a phone call away during the planning process and was able to answer any question I had. I really loved the outdoor space for the ceremony. Plenty of beautiful places for pictures. I rented our room the night before the wedding so that I could have the room the wedding day and stayed with my mom and sister. It was really great having the room all day and just had hair and make up come to us and had plenty of room for all of the girls. Also recommend getting a guys room for the day of the wedding. We had an amazing time and were super happy with our venue choice! This is not a big open venue though so if you want something like that this is not the place for you. the dining room, bar, and dance floor are all separated. I was slightly worried about how it would all flow but it actually worked out really well and kept people dancing all night!
Barry & I wanted to thank everyone at the Gramercy Mansion for your generous hospitality last week as we celebrated our wedding at the Carriage House.
Your staff helped us make our wedding dreams come true. Everyone was friendly and helpful and made planning our Big Day worry-free. We are so grateful to have spent the day, a beautiful and sunny one at that, surrounded by family and friends on your beautiful grounds.
And, of course, our wedding night in the luxurious Cassat Suite was a perfect way to end our perfect day. We have never stayed anywhere as beautiful as the Gramercy. We are in love with the breathtaking gardens and gorgeous landscaping. Our room was thoughtfully appointed and we could not have asked for anything else. Gourmet breakfast in the atrium was a special treat that we thoroughly enjoyed.
We would like to give a special thank you to Shannon who officiated our ceremony and wrote a lovely service that felt very personal to us.
Thank you, also, to Jenna who came down to our suite to check on us and also down to the Carriage House to make sure everything was as we expected. We appreciate the personal and professional touch.
Thank you to Maria for answering our questions over the phone and to Cristin for helping us reserve the Carriage House.
We look forward to returning to the Gramercy for special celebrations in the years to come and visiting our commemorative brick!
Thanks so much for everything. Our guests continue to tell us how beautiful our wedding was and how much they, too, love the Gramercy.
With gratitude and respect,
Amanda and Barry
My husband and I decided to have an elopement/ intimate ceremony with only family. We met with Shannon at Gramercy, and she was wonderful! We fell in love with the property and knew that was where we wanted to marry. We decided on a date only a month away. Shannon made the whole process easy. She was available to answer any questions. Our ceremony was perfect and the gardens made for beautiful pictures!
Gramercy was the garden dance party venue we were looking for! The gardens are stunning and the house is so beautifully decorated! Gramercy staff were friendly and easy to work with throughout the planning process. Our guests loved the style and setup of the space and felt right at home. Overall the team is great! And we had the best day!
Beautiful outdoor garden setting for our wedding! We chose the main mansion gardens, and it was perfectly set up with theater style seating and well manicured gardens. Our officiant, Raina Gover, was very knowledgeable and helped with everything from customizing our ceremony to the rehearsal and day of! Many thanks to the gramercy staff for everything.
We booked our wedding at Gramercy Mansion's Carriage House and it was perfect! From day one, all staff I interacted with was polite, professional, and kind. I planned my wedding from CA so my mother and maid of honor did the site tour with Shannon. She was knowledgeable and answered all their questions. The staff was always quick to respond to any emails or phone calls I made during the planning process. When the wedding weekend finally arrived their staff was so welcoming and frequently checked in to make sure I had everything I could possible need. Rain from the previous days made the lawn too wet to have our ceremony where we planned so they suggested we do it in the courtyard - an idea I never would have thought of but absolutely loved! I would book Gramercy again for any event or even just a weekend away.
The Gramercy team was truly a joy to work with. Unbelievably patient with family and questions, they went way out of their way to ensure the absolutely perfect day! Excellent venue to co-locate the entire wedding/reception/lodging. We couldn't have been happier with both the Mansion and the staff!!!
The Gramercy was an amazing place to have our wedding! We had our ceremony and reception inside the mansion, and everything was beautifully done. We wanted to do the ceremony outside but it was unexpectedly cold, so we moved the ceremony inside. It still felt like we were outside with the big windows and plants surrounding us and the transition inside the space was seamless. We also stayed in the Cassatt Suite and booked the rest of the rooms for our family, and everyone had a wonderful stay. We especially appreciated the delicious vegan breakfast they made for us in the morning. The service and communication before the wedding was also excellent. I would highly recommend the Gramercy to anyone.
We can’t say enough good things about Gramercy Mansion. We had our May 6 wedding there, and everything was perfect. The staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming. After booking our date, we visited numerous times on our own to show our parents and photographers around, and we always felt welcome to do so.
We stayed in the Tudor Room the night of our wedding (and used it as our bridal suite to get ready beforehand). The natural light through the two windows was lovely, and the quick access to the gardens was perfect for our first look photos. We didn’t end up eating breakfast there, but our family members who did were very pleased. We look forward to visiting again for a future anniversary!
I had my wedding here last week and it was perfect! Shannon did everything and more to make my day perfect both on the day and leading up to it. The night before, my officiant was delayed and couldn’t make our rehearsal. She performed the whole thing and provided the best tips that I hadn’t even thought of. The entire staff at the Gramercy was accommodating to all my guests and the grounds were impeccable. I truly had a perfect wedding day and appreciate all the Gramercy did to make sure of that!!
I booked this place as the location for my bridal portraits, which turned out amazing! They were prompt to respond to my questions. My only issue was that when we arrived we had trouble figuring out where we could setup. We ended up having to ask them multiple times for directions, and got the feeling that they didn't care about our business.
Gramercy Mansion was a perfect venue for my late winter/early spring wedding this past weekend. The venue staff was extremely helpful throughout my entire planning process and were wonderful the night of the wedding. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and my guests all loved the decor. The following morning, my husband and I ate a delicious breakfast before heading home. I have absolutely no complaints and would totally recommend this venue to future brides.
My husband and I got married at the Gramercy Mansion on St. Patrick's Day and it was amazing! The mansion is absolutely beautiful and our guests loved it. The staff are really friendly and worked very well with all of our vendors to make sure the day went off without a hitch. Highly recommend the Gramercy to anyone looking for a wedding venue! And not to mention the bed and breakfast was great and made the day so easy since we could get ready there in the comfort of our own room. We can't wait to go back and visit and remember the best day of our lives!
This venue was absolutely perfect for our wedding day. It was very intimate and cozy. The staff was very welcoming and we had the best service from Shannon! The best part of this venue was that I didn’t need to bring much for decorations as the mansion is so ornate! This is definitely the place to have an intimate and lovely wedding!
The Gramercy Mansion is a wonderful, romantic, beautiful place to get married! We had our wedding ceremony and reception there in October 2017. Our family stayed in the mansion the night before and the night of our wedding. It couldn't have been more perfect! The staff make you feel like family and are always happy and accommodating. (Shannon, thank you for being so wonderful!) The mansion and grounds are breathtaking and take you back in time. Our guests could not get enough of it's charm and beauty. They serve breakfast every morning to overnight guests and it was so delicious. I can't stop thinking about the banana pancakes! My husband and I could not have asked for a better place to start our lives together!
This place is probably the prettiest wedding venue in Maryland. The gardens are spectacular (and of all our visits, I think they were at their most lush and spectacular on our early Fall wedding day). The inside feels like Downton Abbey. Many venues have a pretty location for the ceremony but the dinner and dance floor are in some soulless ballroom or tent, but not Gramercy Mansion. The atrium for dinner has glass walls that face out onto the garden, which was so pretty in the twilight. The dining room, with candles sparkling on all the tables and the fairy lights strung from the ceiling, was breathtaking. And the rooms inside of the mansion are so lush and full of character. We were a little worried about having the dance floor in a separate room from where dinner was served, but it was great that people who wanted to could sit and chat and sip coffee while others went to the dance floor. And the older crowd loved being able to relax and chat while sitting on the couches inside rather than being forced to watch the dance floor all night.
The wedding party and immediate families spent the night at the mansion, and the next morning many of the guests came back for brunch (they told us we could invite up to 50 for brunch the next morning). The food was delicious and it was so nice getting to see many of our guests the next morning.
We booked Gramercy a few hours after we saw it for the first time (there was a cancellation which allowed us to book a prime fall date just a few months in advance). I am so glad we did. It set the whole tone and character for our wedding. If you want to get married in a beautiful vintage mansion and garden (and to feel like Lady Mary on your wedding day), then definitely book here.
The Gramercy Mansion was an amazing venue for our winter wedding! All of the rooms were beautifully decorated for Christmas. The ceremony took place in the atrium and we said our "I do's" in front of a Christmas tree which was later the backdrop for our sweetheart table. Our guests took amazing pictures in front of the fireplaces and Christmas trees. I foresee many Christmas cards from our guests using pictures they had taken at our wedding. When the guests first entered the lobby, their mouths would drop at how gorgeous it was.
Couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue. The Gramercy gardens were gorgeous. It was a sunny day but if it had rained, the rain location at the Gramercy would have been equally beautiful.
This was the perfect location for our October wedding. The grounds were simply beautiful and there were many gorgeous flowers still in bloom! Little was needed from us in terms of interior decorations as the inside was perfect on its own. We got a ton of compliments from our guests saying they had never been to a venue like it. The staff were fantastic to work with and the rooms guests stayed at in the mansion were all top notch. Definitely a must-see venue of your looking for a unique spot!
We had our wedding at Gramercy on April 18th, 2015 and it was absolutely amazing! Its quiet and secluded, the mansion and grounds and beautiful and the staff was wonderful! They were very accommodating and we are so thankful for their courtesy and consideration! We definitely recommend Gramercy for the perfect wedding!
Gramercy Mansion was a spectacular venue for our wedding in August. We held it in the evening; the weather was perfect and the gardens could not have been more beautiful. We had chosen Linwood’s from among the caterers that work with Gramercy and the two vendors work very well together. All of the staff at the Gramercy, starting with Cristin, who was the first person we met, to the rest of her staff who helped every time we visited with vendors or family members from out of town, were knowledgeable and available to answer questions and offer suggestions. As beautiful as the mansion already is, when the flowers and tablecloths are set up, and the beautiful food comes out, it transforms into an even more magical place. Our guests were delighted by the warmth and intimacy of the mansion, of the flourishing of the garden, and how beautiful our wedding was at the Gramercy! Seven weeks later and we are still getting wonderful compliments about it being the best wedding people have ever attended! My husband and I can't wait to return to spend our anniversary there!
My hubby and I had the best wedding ever here! The staff at the Gramercy were so accommodating and let us come look around the mansion whenever we wanted. The room I got ready in was beautiful (which you do have to stay in the room the night before to get ready there). Everything was perfect and the brunch the next morning was amazing!!!
We had the most perfect wedding at the Gramercy. The gardens were breathtaking, and the mansion was absolutely gorgeous. We had a non-traditional reception, and have been told by many guests that it was the most fun they have ever had at a wedding. We had 100 guests, and I think they usually don't have weddings that large, the staff seemed a little flustered by it but then were complimenting how well everything went. They only work with 3 different caterers, and they do not have a wedding coordinator on site (looking back, I wish I had known these things before booking, but I still would've had to have it there). Also the bridal suite is not included in the rental fee, and I think was an extra $500.
We viewed many mansions in the area, and this one had the most character, and suited our non-traditional vision. We have the most beautiful pictures, and the happiest memories!
We had our wedding in the summer of 2012 and people still talk about how our wedding was the prettiest wedding they've ever seen. We highly recommend having your wedding at Gramercy Mansion.
Gramercy is a beautiful place and very unique! The staff was nice and breakfast was great! They accommodate to those who do not eat gluten which was amazing!
The staff were very helpful. Perfect venue for our summer outdoor intimate wedding. With the natural surrounding of greenery and flowers in the summer, there is no need to over decorate.
Gramercy Mansion was the perfect venue for our June wedding. They are continuously improving the gardens, which are amazing! Great place for pictures as well. If you book the first wedding in a day (sometime there are two), then you get to pick the caterer off of a list of like 10 which is plenty. I would recommend it to anyone!
I had my wedding at the mansion and it was wonderful. All of my guests were so impressed with the beauty and historic style of the mansion. Our wedding was planned to be outside in their gardens but it rained so we got married on the terrace which had hangning plants and was open walls so we still got the outside feel with no wet heads. Overall a wonderful place
This place is amazing! From the lighting and hardwood floors to the well maintained gardens it makes for the perfect day! We stayed in the B&B and had an amazing and romantic night and breakfast who could ask for more. Even if you stay for a weekend or have your wedding here its a great place. Thanks Keith and Jamie Holland
I knew I wanted to get married at the Gramercy the second I saw the picture online. It was a beautiful place, you couldn't ask for better scenery. Our ceremony was in the garden and our pictures were just stunning with the gorgeous backdrops. We also got the Blue Garden Suite for all the ladies to get ready in. The place was like a fairytale. I will say that because the Gramercy doesn't provide any services other than the venue, the staff was not always that helpful. They do not have anyone specific that is assigned to you for your wedding and didn't even know who would be on staff the day of my wedding a month prior. We did end up hiring a week of coordinator because I needed someone to direct traffic and make sure everything went off without a hitch on the day of. The other downside is that you have to end your wedding at 11 pm because of the music. Because our ceremony started at 6, I felt like the reception didn't go on long enough (in need of an after party somewhere else). But it was worth it. We went over our budget to book the Gramercy and that too was worth it. We did experience some bugs -- two wasps which both stung one of my bridemaids before the ceremony--in the Blue Garden Suite while we were getting ready but I definitely overlooked that as the place is old and it was so beautiful I didnt care that much in the end (not sure how my bridesmaid feels about it though). The list of caterers they make you choose from has a lot of great options. We chose Zeffert and Gold and were very happy with them. Our wedding was only about 100 people (we had expected 130 but were really happy in the end that we only had 100 because the dance floor and eating area would have been tight if we had more). However, there are many ways to set up the space for your needs. The dinner on the terrace was intimate and beautiful and all our guests raved about how beautiful the house and the grounds were. Would do it all over again there in a heartbeat!
The comment we received most from guests was--how'd we find this great venue? Beautiful gardens, stress-free inclement weather plan, and quirky/endearing bed and breakfast decor make it a uniquely perfect site for an outdoor wedding. I definitely recommend!
Gramercy was a wonderful venue to work with and we could not have imagine our wedding being more beautiful.
Our officiant, Mr. Bill (the inn-keeper at the Gramercy) was superb. He was always so helpful, and a sure pleasure to deal with. The Gramercy staff- Cristin and Maria also were extremely helpful and friendly.
Gramercy was organized, as advertised and a beautiful place to have such a memorable event. We would definitely recommend!
My wedding at the Gramercy Carriage house was a bit of a disappointment. The mansion had another wedding going the same day, and the bride for that wedding booked my venue for her rehearsal dinner. As a result, Gramercy informed me I would have to come quite early for my rehearsal. When we arrived, they were setting up for the other Bride and were of no assistance to us and acted as if we were placing a burden on them. They cut the grass so short that after a week of rain, the entire ceremony space was mud, it has destroyed the bottom of my dress. The day of the wedding, before I was to walk down the aisle, we made our way over to the mansion to wait under the awning because it was raining. Gramercy informed me I had to move because the other bride was going to be on her way down to get into her limo. After begging to let me stand in one of their offices rather than walk back through the rain, they begrudgingly let us in to a room to wait. In the mean time, my mom had to hunt down someone at the mansion to request towels to dry off the chairs, which my cousins did for me, Gramercy couldn't even be bothered to dry the chairs. When we finally walked down the aisle and were in the middle of the ceremony, several very loud cars with either modified exhaust systems or broken exhaust systems were allowed to drive around the circle of our ceremony site, disrupting the ceremony. When we had made our arrangements with Gramercy, they had assured me that no one would be allowed to drive around that circle during my ceremony. Overall, I do not recommend this site to any bride. The people at Gramercy managed to make me feel like I was a burden to them on my wedding day and like a second class citizen. No bride should have to experience what I did on such a special day. Especially not when I am paying them for their services.
I am so glad we chose this venue...it is pricey, but it is beautiful. We had an outdoor noon ceremony and cocktail hour, with our reception in the terrace on June 4th. The weather was perfect and our guests couldn't stop telling us how beautiful the place was! I love the brick walkway down to the outdoor ceremony site, and the drive to the Mansion is even scenic and beautiful. The inside of the mansion is gorgeous as well- we stayed in the Blue Garden Suite the night before (bridesmaids and I) and loved the suite. There was plenty of room for 3 bridesmaids and I, and we had a nice breakfast there in the morning. Couldn't ask for more!
Site was beautiful! I was able to save on my florist costs because of all the natural beauty. There are already flowers surrounding the ceremony site and they have lots of hanging plants on the terrace (reception area). I only needed wedding party flowers and some for the centerpieces/tables.
The rooms are a bit pricey to stay in, but the bride & groom do get a discount. It would have been nice if they did a little extra for the bride & groom's room at the end of the night - like maybe some flowers, rose petals, wine, or something. They do offer that you can "buy" those extras.
We had many guests comment that it was the most beautiful wedding they had been to. The place was perfect and our wedding was breathtaking...I wouldn't have changed a thing.
Gramercy Mansion is absolutely beautiful! Out of every venue my wife and I researched online, Gramercy was the best and when we finally went to see it in person, we were sold. The gardens are fantastic and the ceremony sight is so beautiful. We chose the Mansion for our wedding as opposed to the Carriage House (even though we only had 50 guests) because it was just so amazing. The cost is significantly more for the mansion but well worth it, in my opinion. The only thing I would have preferred was a place on site for my wife to get ready prior to the ceremony. If you don't book a room the night before or the day of, you're out of luck unless you want to get ready in the bathroom. Luckily, we wanted to be there the night before so it was no issue. We rented the Blue Garden suite, by the way and we loved it! I would recommend Gramercy highly. The staff was friendly and helpful and made sure we had a wonderful time.
We had our ceremony and reception at the Gramercy last week. From the beginning, we loved the location because it was furnished like a cozy, elegant, warm and inviting home. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The bed and breakfast made it the perfect one stop shop - we booked the Cassatt Suite on the lower level the day before our wedding so the bride and bridesmaids could stay there and then it doubled as our wedding night suite. It's just such an elegant, romantic place to have your wedding. Your guests will love it!
When we walked into the Gramercy Mansion, it was like walking into our home. The house and grounds are gorgeous and the staff is very helpful. There is so much to look at you will never stop marveling at the place. It was so lovely. With a lot of out of town guests, we opted to have the ceremony and reception there. The gardens are amazing and the set up for the reception was so sweet. If you book, consider staying the night, the B&B aspect is worth checking out as well.
The location was beautiful, but their customer service needs some improvement. We had several cards (with cash and checks) going missing from the wedding and they didn't care or do any kind of follow up. I realize it could have been anyone who did it, but I expected them to accept some kind of responsibility or at least offer some sympathy. I left some clothes behind after the wedding also (bra and panties) and they wouldnt' mail them to me, only offered to hold them for a few days so I could drive to get them. I think for the 5K we dropped for the rental fee and rooms, etc. they could have washed my clothes and mailed them to me since they knew i lived about 45 minutes from the site.
the place was gorgeous! we had our ceremony outside on oct. 25th 2010- near sunset. the appetizers were served outside the reception area- and our reception was inside. The only things that are annoying about this place are 1. any more than the 108 ppl we had would have been too cramped- our 12 tables fit nicely 2. they don't have any free "getting ready" room for the bride, you are practically forced to pay for a b&b room which is fine if you are staying the night 3. the owner is not very accomodating, rude, and could care less about your event 4. the rest of the staff aren't very knowledgeable or helpful...they told me for instance that they wouldn't have any ladders available for me to use the night before to hang lanterns, but my friend who was with me went and found FOUR ladders of theirs just sitting there not being used- also if you talk to one of the staff members about something concerning your day, get their name!! cause later they will say "oh you can't do that, who said you could do that?". Also i suggest paying the extra money for Juan (he works at the 1840s ballroom) to help coordinate the rehearsal and the wedding- unless you already have your own wedding planner. He is SOOOO helpful and on the ball and still very calm :-) by the way- we got married on a monday evening and it was half the price!
The people at the mansion were very nice and were willing to answer any questions via telephone or email that I had. Bill was very helpful when we signed the contract and put down our deposit as well. We chose to stay at the mansion the night before our wedding and the night of our wedding. The breakfast was excellent in the mornings. Many of our guests at the wedding complimented how lovely the gardens were, and how great the mansion was.
The grounds of the mansion were absolutely beautiful. My husband and I stayed that night and felt all though the room was beautiful,it was not stocked well. No towels, wash cloths. Mini bar was empty not even water. That part was disappointing.
