of asked for a more attentive and helpful person to run our wedding, she is the best! We had an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, with the reception in the Fairway room overlooking the golf course. Due to rain, the ceremony was moved under the tent and the cocktail hour was moved to the upstairs room. You wouldn't even have known that this was plan B, because the staff did such an amazing job with ensuring the flow of the event ran smoothly. Luckily, during the reception the rain subsided, and staff went ahead and set up our lawn games and firepits outdoors, which allowed for such a nice ambience for our guests to flow inside and out! The Fairway room was also the perfect room for our smaller wedding (75 people) and allowed for an intimate feeling during the whole event. The Bridal Attendant, Iyvette, was so wonderful! She was attentive, and was there anytime we needed her, she even helped to fix my bustle which broke. The food and drinks were topnotch, we have received nothing but great words from our guests! We are truly so happy that we went with the Grand Oaks Country Club for our wedding day!! Huge thank you to Carmella and the whole staff for helping us have the most memorable wedding!

A week before the wedding we saw a huge tent in the ceremony space that we did not like and was told that the tent will be there for the wedding. My husband and I did not like the way it looked at all so Carmela helped us create another plan A and B. She made sure that she did anything she could to make us happy. On the day of our wedding it was raining on and off so it ruined any outdoor photo plans we had before heading to the venue. The venue was very accommodating and allowed us to get there early and take pictures indoors. There was always someone there to help us and answer our questions. We had many changes to our seating arrangements even on the morning of our wedding. The staff at the grand oaks helped make any changes we needed. We had an amazing night at the grand oaks.

She was also there on my big day and ensured everything was just as I planned. We arrived at Grand Oaks and did the traditional tea ceremony in the bridal suite with family members. My husband and I had our ceremony on site overlooking the golf course, and the view was just beautiful, followed by cocktail hour and ceremony in breakout room. Margaret at Grand Oaks helped us plan our wedding, and made sure we were relaxed and taken care of every step of the way! The venue staff put a TON of care into every event - they clearly love what they do, they know the wedding business, and the good vibes are infectious. We ended up having the entire wedding outdoors under a really nice, big tent (the Knot needs to be updated), decorated with lights. The views are super beautiful. The golf greens are immaculate. The drive there from Brooklyn was nice! Quite a pleasant drive through Staten Island as we neared the venue. (We totally underestimated the importance of a pleasant drive). Aesthetically, it’s a beautiful venue. We hadn’t spent much time in Staten Island before - and now we are huge fans of the borough :) We can’t say enough about the service- maybe the most important and underrated aspect of our vendor search. We now appreciate the importance of great service - and Grand Oaks is exemplary. Our Maitre D John was incredibly professional, friendly, and worked so hard to make the wedding go smoothly (and to make sure we never went hungry or thirsty on a hot summer day). We were all sweating on a 90+ degree day, and John made sure we had everything we needed. Our bridal assistant, who we met the day of, was so attentive, friendly, and professional. Our entire wedding party fell in love with her - great vibes, a calming presence. She made sure the bride was taken care of every step of the way, which is so important. Always there with a cup of water, and a hand for the dress. 5/5! Grand Oaks promised white glove service and absolutely delivered! Our wedding guests had glowing reviews for not only these two (our maitre D and bridal assistant) but also the bartender and entire serving staff - another factor we hadn’t thought about much during planning. The staff were super friendly, attentive, efficient, and they just let the party breath! We and our guests SO appreciated the staff- we really didn’t have to think about anything. We were in great hands - smooth sailing all night. Grand Oaks, you run a tight ship! Food was great - it beat our expectations! I highly recommend brides and grooms eat the food! Otherwise you’ll end up with nicely packed leftovers, as we did (haha). One of the reasons we picked Grand Oaks was the “all inclusive” experience (food and cake). We got to weigh in on the menu and we customized our cake too. Kids loved the chocolate and raspberry cake. Unless you have some really specific food vendors you want to work with, go with the Grand Oaks kitchen- they will not disappoint! Our guests were fans. One thoughtful touch- we have a tier of leftover wedding cake in the freezer now, waiting for our first anniversary. The staff decorated the cake box with hearts and a really sweet hand written congratulations note. Just speaks to how thoughtful the staff are, and how much they really love the wedding business. GO TEAM GRAND OAKS! They might be Staten Island’s and NYC’s best kept secret.

Personnel - extremely nice and helpful (Maitre D' Felix drove me back to the hotel in his own car when I, the bride, forgot my earrings there; bride's personal attendant Leslie was always by my side, making all my requests done). All of our guests complimented us on the choice of venue. Moreover, all of the guests were amazed how nice the venue's staff was. Great job! Will definitely recommend!

She was always pleasant to work with, and near the end when it was really stressful.... she had a calming presence that helped to keep us focused on what really mattered. One thing that really stood out was that my husband and I tried to sit and eat our cake about 4 times during the night but we kept getting pulled away to dance and say goodnight to people. After everyone left, the staff was about 90% finished clearing the tables and they were starting to break them down, but our table and our cake was still there waiting for us. We got to sit for 5 minutes together and enjoy our cake. It was just what we needed after the long exciting day! It was like they knew we needed that little break and our cake was delicious! We heard nothing but rave reviews from all our guests. Everyone had a fantastic time, and we had the perfect day. My marriage ceremony ended about 3 hrs before my cocktail hour and Margaret John and the amazing folks at The Grand Oaks accommodated my guests without a hitch. There was an abundance of food during my cocktail hour with a few surprises from my wedding coordinator Margaret and my matre D John. Our reception was picture perfect food was absolutely melt in your mouth delicious the set up was exactly how I wanted it but actually way better our bridal sweet was a great surprise Tara our bridal assistant set it up with this romantic feel with some food from our cocktail hour she met our every need throughout the entire night. John our Matre D had a huge surprise for us at the end of the night he set up the most amazing Venetian hour that literally brought me to tears!! Words truly can not describe what a perfectly amazing night we had. We wanted for nothing and had absolutely everything. It was a perfect night our guests are still ranting and raving about it and they are looking to book their future parties with the Grand Oaks as well! We had a family style reception and were a bit worried at first about it meeting our expectations but the venue provided impeccable service and outstanding food. Everything looked amazing on the day of and our guests could not stop talking about how wonderful the wedding was. If I had to do it all over again, I would without a doubt pick this venue!

back to the car and said "it's too fancy for this party, but we are getting married there." It was a pretty bold statement considering we weren't even engaged yet! When the time came, I insisted we at least visit a few other venues. But of course my bride new what she wanted and when we compared all the factors- Grand Oaks was the obvious choice. Our wedding planner was Margaret- I can't even tell you how much we loved her. I can honestly say I feel like she is a part of the family because she took care of us the way our family would. Most importantly, she convinced my fiancé to relax and let them make the wedding a success, and calming a bride-to-be is a skill all of it's own. Our Maitre'd, Felix - knew his sh*t!! He was experienced, direct, no nonsense and we LOVED him. Not only did he constantly check on us as the bride and groom, but always made sure our bridal party was happy- he even danced with my Mother In Law. He is the perfect balance between professionalism and a good time. Even our minister mentioned that it was the first rehearsal he had done that he did not have to give any direction because Felix was taking care of everything. Our minister also spoke during his sermon about relationships and using the wedding day as a comparison to marriage. He said weddings will never be perfect, and neither will a marriage... but you must enjoy the ride, and lean on each other when something goes wrong. Well - if our marriage is at all like our wedding day we will be the luckiest couple in the world. It was a flawless evening. We have received multiple compliments on the food & the atmosphere. We are forever grateful for the attention to detail and impeccable taste.

After 3 visits and several phone calls, we were ready to commit but right before we spoke about signing a contract, it turns out that he wouldn't honor the error and would have to raise the price a significant amount. This was truly heartbreaking for us. We were so eager to book with them and get on with our wedding plans, but unfortunately things did not work out that way. As you can infer, we did not end up booking with them- we did not want to risk any more last minute surprises.

Request these very competent individuals and you will have the best night of your life! Dinner was beautifully presented, tasteful, hot and of expert quality. The cake, from a local Staten Island bakery (Renato”s – also a wonderful, family owned bakery), was beautifully decorated and delicious. You will not be disappointed having any kind of affair at The Grand Oaks Country Club. I will be back for future events!

We loved the space that we had. We were in the main room. It was a great space for our guests (about 200 people) Our guest moved around comfortably and the service was outstanding too! The dance floor was by far my favorite because the length of it was un-believable and usually when you see a huge dance floor you think tacky but think again because it worked so well! Now the food was out of this world. It was amazing. The choices Grand Oaks gives you for your three meal coarse menu was crazy good. So hard to choose but the manager, Jon (highly recommend you go straight to him) made it easy for us. Amongst other things like choosing a cake, grand oaks is in partner with a small bakery in Staten Island, and it was such a delicious cake. Getting married here, the staff was beyond helpful. Our matre D was super sweet and organized. Also my bridal assistant was such a super help. She was patient and always around. Very aware, and trust me ladies you want someone aware of only you when you need them to be. Grand Oaks gives you the option of a dessert bar, and it was truly amazing. So many sweets to choose from for rows on end. So all in all, getting married here was such a great choice. The staff, the food, the atmosphere was beyond amazing. Even for those couples who want amazing photos, you cannot go wrong here because the huge landscape and the gardens they have are great for photos. . The cocktail hour was full of never ending delicious food. The guests were able to sit indoors and outdoors and everyone was taking advantage of the great weather. There were so many options at the cocktail hour. The signature drink my husband and I chose was displayed in a beautiful pyramid design and was delicious! The cold seafood bar was amazing!! My reception was unbelievable, completely passed what I was expecting. The entire staff was very attentive, polite and over all extremely professional. My bridal attendant was by my side all day and night, even going so far as giving me her jacket to sit on so I could take a picture on the grass on the golf course. My husband and I and my guests wanted for nothing! The main course dinners were out of this world, the presentation of the Caesar salad being made was a treat all in it's self! Every one was up cheering and clapping and my Daddy and I were dancing on the dance floor, a truly amazing time. The venetian hour was over the top. My guests could not believe their eyes. The amount of cakes, cookies, ice cream, chocolate and so much more was perfect! John and Margaret are two of the most helpful and kind people I've ever met. They assisted me all of the way and I could tell they truly want everything to be perfect for each bride! I wish I could go back in time and enjoy my wedding all over again! It's been almost three months and my guests are still gushing about how amazing my wedding was and what a terrific job Grand Oaks need!! If that's not a compliment then I don't' know what is. To anyone who is planning a party, look no further Grand Oaks is the place to be!!!

They went along with all my requests, making my wedding fantastic. I was able to have a back drop set up on the day of. They let me into the bridal suite early in the day to get ready there. They allowed us to go down to the golf course with our photographer and take pictures on the green, with a golf cart (we totally took pics on it, too) which was awesome! Plus, we had a cultural entrance on the terrace that they had no problem accommodating. Did I mention the food? Fantastic! (Plus we had an intimate taste test) Bottom line, this place was amazing. So glad I had my wedding there!

My husband and I had our Engagement Party there as well and we knew from that day that we wouldn't even think of having our wedding anywhere but at the Grand Oaks. Our guests at the Engagement Party had a great time and they loved the food so much that they wanted to make sure they would be able to have it at the wedding too. From the time we arrived until the end everything was absolutely amazing. We even showed up a little early and the bridal suite was ready for us. It was prepared with beverages and snacks. We took beautiful pictures on the grounds and inside. It is a beautiful place. John made sure everything ran smoothly and again he went out of his way to make sure everything was okay throughout the night. The food at the cocktail hour and at the reception were terrific! Our waiter Joe made sure that we had everything we needed and were happy at all times. Like I said, it has been almost a year and my husband and I can't stop thinking about the amazing wedding we had and our guests still speak about the great time they had as well. We loved it so much that when we got back from our honeymoon we went to go visit to give them a personal thank you. I strongly recommend having any type of affair at the Grand Oaks Country Club, you will not be disappointed.

I’m from Staten Island and my husband from Long Island, so there was definitely a lot to see. We finally hit the Grand Oaks on our list and we were beyond impressed and had our minds made up. It was like finding your wedding dress, it just fits perfectly and is exactly what you envisioned. The venue is gorgeous…Very elegant and classical with a modern twist. Between the beautiful décor and breathtaking scenery…It was just perfect. Exactly what we were looking for. Adding to that we worked with the general manager, John McCarthy, who was just amazing from day one. Great personality and very passionate about what he does and the establishment he works for – which really does make a difference when picking a venue for such a special occasion. Once we booked the date, the process was 1-2-3. We had constant communication with John to make sure all our questions were answered and that we have everything we needed covered…No matter how small a question, they were there to answer and put a worrying Bride’s mind to rest. Then the wedding day came…It was just perfect. I was the happiest, calmest, and overjoyed bride. Everything went exactly as planned – minus the 5 minute rain storm and lightning bolt – but with everything the staff went up and beyond to make sure we had all we needed and just enjoyed the day. The food was deliciously and the service was spot on. All our guests were raving about how yummy it all was and how excellent and charming the staff was. They were very attentive and really took care of everyone, which was what was promised to us in our first meeting and they most certainly delivered up and beyond expectations. We really cannot say enough about how happy we are and would HIGHLY recommend the Grand Oaks for any occasion. Can’t wait to go back there! We worked with the General Manager, John and he was amazing every step of the way. He walked us through everything, and answered ALL of my questions (believe me there was a lot). John has a lot of personality and is easily liked, but also gets things done and works hard to make sure everything is exactly as you want it. Other than John, the entire staff there is extremely dedicated to your experience. All our guests are still raving about the service that they experienced. Our waiter, Maitre'D, and Bridal Attendant were all phenomenal. I would recommend this venue to anyone and could guarantee a great experience! Thank you again to everyone on staff that helped me have my dream wedding!

he cocktail hour outside but nothing was ever set up outside, no food or drinks were brought out. Instead, the drinks were set up in the smallest room where all our guests could not squeeze in even if they tried (they did!). After we frantically ran around looking to fix the situation, the waiters brought a few drinks and appetizers out (for the 250+ guests....). We signed up for a family style menu which means that all courses are brought to the table and shared. During our numerous meetings prior, it was understood and stressed that the portions brought to each table would be large and refills would be given often. Instead, every dish was brought out on a tiny plate that wasn't enough to feed even half of the people at each table. Guests were complaining that they were leaving food for each other because they saw that there just wasn't enough pieces of anything for everyone at the table. I asked that the starters be a nice smoked fish with salad and potatoes but instead they brought one salty boney fish for the whole table (no-one knew how to dissect it) and salty pickled vegetables. The sad excuse for a salad came an hour later. Tea and coffee was never brought to the tables even though that is what we discussed and instead a few cups were in some corner no one could see and there wasn't enough hot water. One guest even went to the kitchen to get her own hot water. There was very few waiters and guests were waiting for hours to be served. We brought our own cake and pastries, which we saw were taken back from the table in large amounts when people did not eat them. But when we asked to take these home, we were told that none was left and that there was no wedding cake left either, besides the top part, even though we know for a fact that there had been almost half left. We are so ashamed in front of our guests who came to our wedding and starved. It was just embarrassing and we are still making visits to try to make it up to people with bottles of wine and dessert. We would NOT recommend that you do your wedding or any party here. For the huge amount of money that we paid, we were completely ripped off. And the worst part is, that in all the prior meetings, we were given so many assurances when we addressed exactly how we wanted things to be. And instead of enjoying our wedding, we had to run around and try to understand what had gone so terribly wrong...
