Grand Street Cafe

We absolutely loved having our wedding at Grand Street. We were struggling to find a venue and a family friend suggested Grand Street and we called and were able to view the space that day. We left falling in love with the place and knew this was where we needed to have our reception. The space was large enough to have our guests and still roomy enough to get around, it looked beautiful, and the FOOD was amazing. We had a few changes in staff members due to COVID-19, but it all came together nicely. The only thing I would mention is make sure when you get your seating arrangements it is laid out exactly how that will be as the groom's family was supposed to be in front of head table and ended in corner. Nonetheless, I LOVED this venue.

Short notice we had to change our plans for our rehearsal dinner and we could not be more please that it landed us at Grand Street Cafe. We worked with Hannah to coordinate the space, design, food, and drink and she was very helpful! The food was AMAZING - all our family and bridal party was raving about it. They had A/V that we could use to play a video and give some toasts/speeches. It was a great place to have a rehearsal and imagine it would be just as great for a reception as well. Thank you to the Grand Street team for such a great rehearsal dinner!

My husband and I were BLOWN AWAY by Grand Street Cafe when we used them for our rehearsal dinner! The service was top notch and the food was incredible - especially the burnt ends and the cheesy potatoes! The staff on-site was awesome at communicating with us and when they heard how much we loved the food, boxed up the leftovers for us to take home. We would 100% recommend Grand Street Cafe!

Erika and her staff did an amazing job. We were very impressed with Erika’s professionalism, organization, and communication. She was wonderful to work with. We got great feedback from our guests of the room’s aesthetic and location. The food was delicious, and the servers and bartenders were fantastic. We absolutely would recommend Grand Street Cafe for your reception! There is plenty of parking. There are many nearby hotels for guests. There are many nearby restaurants and bars (as it is right off the plaza) for before and after the celebration. We were very happy with our choice.

We couldn't have been happier with Grand Street for our wedding venue. They made it so easy! The staff -- from Logan, the event planner to all of the wait staff-- could not have been more helpful, accommodating or professional. The food was fantastic! No rubbery chicken was fed to our guests! It was served to order and we had raves on the appetizers served at the reception. Highly recommend this for your special event!

Erika and her staff at the Grand Street were amazing in the assistance they provided to me in planning my wedding reception for my daughter. We had the wedding in another state so I was hosting the reception at the Grand Street. I didn't have the advice of a wedding planner, but with Erika's help I was able to work through the details. We scheduled a nice afternoon for the menu tasting! How nice that was and to have the staff's advice of what choices would work well together. Ours was a sit down dinner for 100. The food was delivered hot and delicious. Our guests commented on the quality of the selections. The bar kept up with drink orders! We were thrilled with the party, and grateful to Erika and the Grand Street!

Grand Street was an absolute DREAM to work with. The ladies who manage this event space are so incredibly organized and helpful. They prioritize the bride and groom and their wishes and needs above all else. The food was amazing. The service was incredible. Our big day seriously went off without a hitch BECAUSE of Grand Street and their event managers. I cannot say enough good things about how positive and successful our experience was hosting our wedding reception here just a few weeks ago! If I had to do it all over again, I'd choose Grand Street EVERY SINGLE TIME! Highly Recommend!!!

We hosted our wedding reception at Grand Street and are SO happy we did! We loved the space along with the ease of food and the bar all coming from one vendor. Logan was SO helpful with our details for the day, especially as we were planning our wedding from out of town. I can not emphasize enough how great Logan and Grand Street were to work with! Between the random emails with questions I had, to helping organize signature drinks and our menu and allowing us to drop off items the the week of the wedding, Logan was professional, knowledgeable and helpful through it all! I would 100% recommend Grand Street for any event!

I attended a reception there and ended up with glass in my foot from dancing at the reception. The glass had to be surgically removed. After two phone calls and in speaking with the owner, he never apologized and said the sponsors of the event were responsible. I reached out to the event sponsors who were uninformed about such a policy in the contract and no one followed up from the venue prior to the reception. Not only did they not keep the place free of glass, but were sloppy in managing the communication about what was expected of the people who rent their facility. Rent this place at your own risk.

Bottom line, if I had to plan my wedding all over again, I’d pick Grand Street in a heartbeat! Logan was an absolute dream to work with! We were planning our wedding from three hours away so I thought it would be stressful, but in fact it was all very stress-free. She was willing to work with us on meeting dates outside of normal hours and answered all of my emails so promptly! Grand Street is a perfect venue because it can really be whatever you want it to be. The elegant black and white decor is enough by itself, or can be dressed up depending on your style. We kept it simple and used the centerpieces (adorable) that were provided by Grand Street and added flowers to every table. We had both our ceremony and our reception at Grand Street and the flip between the two was efficient and right on time. The appetizers during the cocktail hour were delicious and the dinner was wonderful as well! It is convenient that Grand Street has all of the basics (table cloths, glassware, etc.) so you don’t have to rent. I also enjoyed that they provide both food and beverage which cuts down your list of vendors to keep track of. The service from all staff was impeccable and I couldn’t think more highly of this establishment.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Grand Street Cafe and it. Was. Incredible. The night of the event, everything ... and I mean everything... went off without a hitch. The food was excellent, the drinks kept flowing, the AV was set up and without issues, the staff was delightful, etc etc etc. I believe a lot of this success had to do with Logan Mitchell being SO wonderful throughout the planning process. Girl has got it togetherrrr! Thank you to the entire Grand Street Cafe Group for being SO easy to work with and total professionals.

Grand street was an awesome venue to host our wedding. Elliot was a joy to work with and took so much off our plates because of how much she did for us! We didn’t use a wedding planner because of how helpful she was the entire planning process. Grand street was super accommodating and had things for us to use (cake stand, cake knife, candle votives, all table linens,etc) which made our lives easier and saved us money! We loved grand street and would reccomend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced venue so close to the plaza! Grand street over delivered.

If I could give Grand Street more than 5 stars I would. Grand street was the perfect venue for any couple that doesn’t want to get caught up in the small decoration and details. The place is gorgeous on its own and food was fantastic. Logan was nothing short of an absolute blessing from the time I met her, till our wedding day. She was quick to respond to emails and never laughed at my millions of stupid questions. I always felt that she had our best interest in mind and did everything she could to make our day run smoothly. She is a Type A’s perfect coordinator! She was organized, respectful and my personal favorite honest. She is the sole reason I didn’t have a heart attack and could enjoy the wedding planning process. Logan, Thank you for all that you do and did for us.

Grand Street Cafe was so amazing and incredible for our wedding reception! Working with Logan (Event Coordinator for Grand Street) was a dream! I started the wedding planning journey about two years ago and Logan has been there every step of the way! She was very timely and open to ideas. She answered emails and texts non-stop! I always felt that she was working in your corner and always had my back. When my wedding day arrived, everything went so well! The space, appetizers, meals, and alcohol were so amazing and literally the best wedding meal a lot of my guests have ever had! The flow of the space works with all guests and is so easy with the private parking garage underneath the restaurant. Seriously, I'm so happy I went with Grand Street! I will for sure have another party there soon and I am recommending the venue to everyone I know!

The Grand Street Cafe crew were a delight to work with. They were patient and made sure we had everything we needed and more leading up to the wedding and on wedding night. I cannot say enough good things about Elliot and her team! We LOVED the Grand Street! The space was beautiful and the view of the plaza was unbeatable. The food was delicious and there was not a single complaint at the wedding. My guests keeping raving about how awesome it was that the kids meals were delivered right to the kids at the table!! All of the moms kept talking about how awesome it was. The GSC was perfect because they had everything we needed! This is a great venue for the brides that want to have a nice wedding without putting in a lot of work. We used the GSC centerpieces, cake cutter, and cake stand. They also were able to make a sign for us to direct our guests. Elliot took care of everything and she made sure that we were taken care of. We even had a disaster with our cake and Elliot was on top of it trying to get it resolved and even came up with alternative solutions. We could not have been happier with the venue and food. We highly recommend this space to all brides and grooms!! It was PERFECT!!!

We held my daughter’s wedding and reception for 210 people at Grand Street Café on May 27. Here are five reasons why you should consider this venue for your wedding or other special event: 1) Gorgeous space – The best way I can describe the Grand Plaza Room is urban chic. It contains modern, loft-like urban elements with the warmth of beautiful dark hardwood floors and huge windows that overlook the Plaza. And it was large enough to accommodate both the ceremony and reception. 2) Everything included – When you rent the space at Grand Street, it includes tables, chairs (really nice chairs, not folding rental chairs), linens, candles and table numbers for the centerpieces (we just added a vase of flowers), a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, a sound system and ample underground parking. We didn’t have to worry about finding or paying for those items separately. That was especially nice since we were planning the wedding from out-of-town. 3) Amazing food – After the tasting, we were so excited about the food we had selected, and Grand Street did not disappoint. Here’s a direct quote from a guest: “The food was spectacular…the best food I have had at a wedding ever.” 4) Event staff – If you read the online reviews for Grand Street, you’ll see people talking about the venue’s event team, Logan and Elliot. They are amazing and will make your life so much easier. We had the pleasure of working with them both throughout the planning process, and Elliot served as our “day of” coordinator, making sure everything ran smoothly. 5) Value – For all these benefits, you would think the venue is expensive. It’s not. It’s one of the best values in Kansas City, and I researched wedding venues and vendors extensively before we made our choice. Having the wedding at Grand Street allowed us to entertain our family and friends with appetizers, a delicious dinner and a full open bar for a very reasonable cost. After looking at many venues we booked the Grand Street Cafe on the plaza for our daughters wedding. We worked with Elliott Taylor who did a terrific job answering all of our questions. We had a food tasting which allowed us to pick exactly what we wanted to have for food and even spoke with one of the chefs to fine tune our details. Before the reception Elliott was in constant contact with us to work on every detail. We had a total of 225 at our reception and there was plenty of room for tables, as well as 2 bars, and high tops for appetizers. She stayed for the entire time and as we received gifts she moved them into another room and out of the way of the party. The food was excellent and we did not have one complaint from any of our family or friends. We would definitely use them again as their follow through was great. Plus it is a pretty venue with nice views of the Plaza. A very professional operation.

We are so happy with how everything turned out with our wedding reception at Grand Street. Logan and the entire staff are true professionals. Planning was easy and everything came to life perfectly. The value can't be beat for a Plaza Wedding and the service that comes with Grand Street. I highly recommend this venue!

Logan and the staff at Grand Street made our big day one that we will never forget. Our guests continue to talk about how delicious the meal was, and many say it is the best wedding meal they have ever had!! We were able to relax knowing that Logan was on top of everything leading up to our big day, and throughout the entire evening. We are so thankful to have chosen this venue!!

We absolutely loved having our reception here! Logan was so great to work with on all of the details beforehand. She was easy to get ahold of and had wonderful suggestions on things I hadn't even considered. My family and I had the most stress free day knowing that Logan would execute it exactly as we imagined. It's a huge perk not having to rush and clean at the end of the night. I would recommend Grand Street to every bride and groom!

I loved working with Grand Street on the Plaza. It was absolutely perfect. Logan was a dream to work with. She was fully a part of the wedding planning process from the beginning. She responded quickly, suggested new ideas, and accommodated us in many aspects. Grand Street’s staff was amazing, my family and myself did not have to worry about set up or clean up day off which was a huge relief. The staff was kind the food service was especially wonderful. The food was amazing and I got SO many compliments on the food. Having a plated meal was one of the things I really wanted and Grand Street provided exactly what I wanted. Hello! We just hosted our wedding ceremony and reception at Grand Street on the plaza and it was beyond what we had hoped it would be. When we first saw Grand Streets event space, we loved the black/white decor which made it so easy to pick flowers and other decorations. Logan was our coordinator, and she made the entire wedding planning a breeze! And not just Logan was great, but every person of their staff that we worked with was wonderful. We opted not to have a wedding coordinator, and not once did I question if anything would be just as we thought it would have thanks to Logan and her team. She worked with us down to every detail and it was exactly how we had pictured it when we showed up the day of. Besides the amazing coordinating and staff, the food is to die for. We did apps and a plated meal and desert from there, and everything was delicious and gone! Our friends have asked for specifics on the meals to try and find recipes for themselves! Looking back at our pictures, the space not only accommodated our wedding and reception, but also photographed perfectly and made for the best background for our forever pictures. Thank you again to the Grand Street team for all that you did to make our dream special day a reality.

Amazing value for a plaza wedding. The event space is dramatic and elegant enough on it’s own and needs very little decorating. The food is top quality and we had a plated meal with 3 different entrée choices that was served without fail. The servers were delightful and the guests raved about the food and service. I would recommend Grand Street without reservation for any event; wedding or otherwise. Great food, location, service and space-we couldn’t have asked for more! Sheila A., mother of the bride

Where do we even start? Logan at Grand Street Cafe is by far the best thing to ever happen to us during our wedding planning experience. She is super professional, full of great ideas, and very easy to work with. She never once said no; there was always a solution to whatever we wanted. Logan helped us keep our sanity. She is a wedding planner, event planner, catering coordinator, and vendor organizer all rolled into one. You can email her, call her, text her, or see her in person. Whatever works best for you works best for her. While she is willing to do whatever you want, she also isn't afraid to tell you what won't work; she seemed just as invested in our wedding as we were. Additionally, GSC is reasonably priced, but looks expensive! The event space is so beautiful you don't necessarily have to decorate, but it also looks great with any kind of decor you do have in mind. The food is fantastic, and the staff was friendly and efficient. We did our ceremony and reception at GSC, and both were executed flawlessly from beginning to end. We were able to get the wedding we wanted within our budget, with fantastic service.

I can't begin to tell you how wonderful this venue is and how beautiful of a job Logan and her team did to help make our dream wedding reception! Logan was attentive, thorough in her responses, and followed through on everything that was promised. She was so patient and walked us through every step of the way, including the food, drinks, seating arrangements, and timeline of the night. Beyond the professional service staff, everyone was RAVING about the dinner buffet. We had a variety to choose from on the buffet, and every single item was a hit. I had my rehearsal dinner at the Grand Street Cafe. They have the BEST food! Originally, they didn't have any of their event spaces available, but Elliot worked her magic and we were given an area of the restaurant for our party. Elliot was so great to work with. We came up with a menu and then decided it was too expensive. She was great at helping us come up with a better option for our budget. The food was delicious, the space was perfect, and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend this venue for a rehearsal dinner or reception. Make sure you book quickly though!

My husband and I visited more than 10 venues in the Kansas City area. This is a total hidden gem. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is incredibly professional. Logan, the coordinator put my mind at ease throughout the whole process. The guests raved about the delicious food. It was the absolute perfect venue for our best day ever!

This is a hidden gem of wedding venues in Kansas City! I feel extremely lucky we happened to find and look at Grand Street Cafe for our wedding on August 27th. Grand Street Cafe is usually thought of as a (delicious) restaurant across from the plaza, but what many people don't know is that there is a whole separate wing just for wedding receptions/rehearsal dinners/etc. They have beautiful dark wood floors, white walls and white decorated ceilings, two cool mirrored bars, and super nice tables with luxurious white and black leather chairs (way nicer than your average venue chairs.) Also, guests get to park in a private gated parking garage and take elevators directly up into the venue. Additionally, since this is a full service restaurant, the food and drink are so easy and delicious! You obviously don't have to deal with third party food and drink vendors, and they are AWESOME menu-option wise and staff/server-wise. (Note: their chorizo flatbread appetizer and pretzels were huge hits! Also, I was obsessed with the salmon entrée.) Last and MOST importantly, their wedding coordinator Elliot is the biggest asset of Grand Street Cafe as a venue. When you sign a contract with Grand Street, included you get the day-of services of a wedding coordinator. She also helps you leading up to the day with tastings, room layout, etc. Elliot made our experience seamless, easy, and enjoyable. She is always accessible, organized, dependable, and is SO great at knowing the in's and out's of planning a perfect day. She had great advice for seating charts, layouts, menu, flow of the night, etc. And literally ALL we had to do to get the room set up on our big day is drop off all decorations, table runners, cake toppers, framed seating charts, etc. with instructions and she set up the entire room perfectly. What an amazing and convenient service included with Grand Street Cafe -- at so many venues, a friend or family member is stuck having to go decorate the whole room the morning of a wedding! Overall, I can't say enough wonderful things about Elliot and Grand Street Cafe! This is a beautiful venue, right by the plaza, with many more perks and nicer amenities than your 'average' venue. I would recommend Grand Street Cafe as a reception venue to any future bride. THANK YOU!

Grand Street was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. The space was amazing and so beautiful. Logan was so easy to work with, she was very detail oriented and made sure every little request was met from how to have the tables set, to the arrangement of the room, to the order of events for the night. So many of our guests said it was the best food they have ever had at the wedding, and there are no hidden surprises or costs. I wish I could relive the reception all over again because it was so incredible.

Our rehearsal dinner location was fabulous and the food fantastic. Working with Grand St was a pleasure and I know my mother-in-law trusted them with her vision for the night. We had great service, excellent value, and the view of the Plaza and the Plaza lights was stunning. You cannot go wrong with them!

We absolutely loved Grand St. Cafe's for our wedding. Honestly, everything went perfectly with them. The venue is beautiful and requires little decor to make it magnificent. The space was perfect for our party of 130. The food had every guest raving, literally. We did the buffet with prime rib, salmon, Bussel's sprouts, asparagus, mushroom risotto and whipped potatoes. Mollie and Maggie were great to work with. Our one con, there was a miscommunication about the room reservation deposit and room rental deposit. They were the same price yet not well distinguished as 2 separate fees in the contract or conversations with the coordinators. This was my only bump in the road with them. Otherwise, they accommodated and took care of everything from their end, including ordering me gluten free beer (Omission) for my guests and a special allergen free meal for my Dad. Grand St. really is one of the most elegant venues in KC with exceptional food and service. DO IT!

I had never been to Grand Street Cafe (or even heard about it) until we came across it while searching for wedding venues. After visiting several other venues, we knew the second we walked in that Grand Street was going to be our venue! The space is in a great location on the Plaza and the room was the perfect size for our 200 guests! We booked our date about a year and a half in advance, and the employees were always easy to communicate with throughout the planning process. We worked closely with Mollie and she was awesome making sure all of the details were in place on the day of our wedding! As if the space itself isn't awesome enough, the food is seriously AMAZING. There was not one thing during our tasting that was not delicious, which made it hard to narrow down our menu! We definitely recommend using Grand Street Cafe as a reception venue! You won't find another space in the area as elegant and fun as Grand Street!

We had our wedding at the Grand Street Cafe Venue in Kansas City and I am so happy that we did! Being an out of state bride, I did not follow the typical planning process. The Grand Street Cafe and their staff were attentive to all of our wants and our needs; helping our day go off without any issues! The venue is absolutely perfect and was designed in a way that it can accommodate any couples vision! Thank you Grand Street for EVERYTHING!!!

Overall, Grand St. was an amazing venue for my morning wedding and brunch reception. The space was gorgeous-chairs, floors, lighting, bars, etc. Plenty of space for all of our (90) guests with a great feature to allow the room to be flipped while everyone was enjoying cocktail hour. However, there was some construction being done on the entryway (This was not in the Grant St. space officially, but rather the office building where Grand St. is located) and the revolving door was replaced with a large piece of plywood. Luckily, our photographer was able to conceal this with a backdrop. Mollie and Kristi were very helpful and made our day special and seamless. Mollie gave some great suggestions that when implemented made our day even better. The only downside of the space was the sound system. The system kept overloading and produced this awful noise during the wedding reading and song. Hopefully, they will get this fixed for the future. Overall, an amazing space for your special event.
