We got married at Grandover on July 1, 2023. After having tried to plan a wedding at a South Carolina venue and a resort in Puerto Rico, we settled on Grandover after meeting with Rebekah and touring the facility. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Our families and friends golf and we wanted a facility where everyone could sleep, golf, and attend the wedding without having to worry about drinking and driving or finding shuttle services. We looked all over the southeast and couldn't find such a facility until we settled on Grandover. We had 106 guests and 36 golfers on Saturday morning. Our group was so impressed by Grandover. They all commented on how accommodating the staff was, how delicious the food was, and how beautiful the entire venue was - the lawn we were married on, the golf course itself, the pool, the décor, the rooms, etc. We wanted to keep our budget in check and ended up paying the national average for a wedding with everything included (like photographer and DJ, which Grandover don't provide). With that price tag, Grandover handles most everything. They set up the venue, they provide A/V for the ceremony, they provide the food, etc. It allows you to do much less work to plan your wedding. Rebekah is fantastic. I talked to a lot of venue managers before picking Grandover and none of them compared to Rebekah. She was always prompt with communication, so you never felt alone in the planning process. I sent a million emails with questions and never felt like a bother to her. On the day of the event, it stormed right at our ceremony time. Rebekah worked with me to delay the ceremony and had the staff dry off the chairs in a matter of minutes to get our guests outside for the ceremony. This is just one example of how she worked with us and made our experience perfect. The Pro Shop had carts ready to go with our players names on them and bags already loaded on the carts. It was top-knotch service. I could go on and on about how accommodating and wonderful the Grandover was for our wedding. If you're hesitating to book your wedding here, don't. At least go take a visit to Grandover and stay a night. Eat the food at the restaurants and it'll give you an idea of how great the food and service will be at your wedding.
The Grandover was an absolutely MAGICAL place for our 12/4/21 wedding. Lindsey and Mariah were wonderful to work with, the food was great, and the staff were wonderful! All of my guests were able to stay in one location and have a fun filled weekend. We did however have a few hiccups with the bar tenders that were serving our reception. We had numerous complaints on them both. However, I am still giving 5 stars, because overall it was a great experience.
I cannot begin to express how over-the-top Grandover was in accommodating our wedding. On our big day, there was constant communication to see if we needed anything, our wishes were granted in the blink of an eye and the staff were incredibly incredibly generous and kind. It is the absolute perfect place to get married, a beautiful ceremony site and fantastic catering service. We were all blown away at the professionalism behind the cooking, wait staff, and wedding planners. Best yet, this venue is very affordable. At first glance, we thought we could never get married at such a dream location, but this easily became true. Please consider Grandover as your wedding venue, it was the experience of a lifetime.
Working with Mariah and her staff at the Grandover was amazing. They did everything they could to make sure we were taken care of and things ran smoothly the day of our wedding. Did a great job with specific request, and adjusting things to meet our vision. Resort staff was welcoming and our guest had nothing but great things to say! Would definitely recommend this venue!
If you want your wedding to be extravagant and perfect to the T, have your reception here! My (now husband) and I did all of our planning through Grandover, and everything was flawless! They welcomed and accommodated all 300 of our guests with room blocks, discounted rates, breakfast vouchers. Everything was so nice and professional! It wasn't just a magical weekend for the bride and groom, it was magical for the entire wedding party and all of our guests. 2 years later, and our friends are still talking about the luxury spa and incredible golf course! 10 Stars!
My daughter had her wedding planned to the T. The wedding planner at the hotel commented how organized she was. The day of the wedding, we wondered into the reception room early in the morning. It was very warm. We were assured at 10AM they had just turned the air on. As it turned out at 2PM we were told the air conditioning had been broken for over 24 hrs and nothing could be done. After many heated discussions our reception was moved to another room. A very plain, square room- not the room we contracted for with character and a fireplace. We could have gone to a firehall for a plain square room. When they set the room, the tables were arranged differently and table numbers and chairs were incorrect. (We didn't have time to check the arrangements due to how long it took to change rooms and we needed to get ready. As the mom of the bride, I missed all the activities with my daughter, helping her get dressed, pictures, etc. No one could find me for hours because I was arguing with management. My daughter did not know there was a problem. I was not ruining her day. 15 minutes before the ceremony was to begin, the skies opened up and the ceremony and cocktail hour needed to be moved inside due to rain, not the fault of the Grandover, but the staff did not help with any of the rearranging of chairs, flowers, etc that needed to be moved inside. The groomesmen did all the work. During the cocktail hour which was moved inside, there was 1 bartender for 150 people- no one to serve the horderves. They were plopped on the high top tables. There was also no seating available for our elderly guests. When my daughter and son-in-law selected the menu, my daughter stated it was the best food she had ever had. Unfortunately, it must have been a different chef this particular night. The food was cold, not very tasty. In the contract it stated, No BROCOLLI".. Guess what the vegetable was, brocolli. They gave everyone brocolli except the bride and groom so they could hide it. When my daughter saw brocolli on the plates, she asked they said they forgot to order the other vegetables. We were told they would tally the drinks. There was no tally of drinks- at the end of the night we were told on MOnday they would measure what had been used in each bottle. I still would like to know how they measured a rum and coke. Im sure I paid for the mixed drink as well as a soda in this particular case. Also the bottles were all stored in the kitchen for 2 days before they were measured. Coffee and tea as well as the cake were to be served- they were not served. At the end of the night, the staff was in a hurry and threw the handmade cake topper in a box and broke it. We did contact management after the wedding. A small refund was given, but nothing in comparison to what we should have rec'd. Unfortunately, there was a medical emergency in our family the day after the wedding and we just did not have the time to address the situation. We had every single detail worked out when we planned this wedding. We do understand things happen. But we were lied to for 4 hours that the air conditioning was working. it was a 90 degree day, we needed air conditioning. I will never get to do all the sentimental things with my daughter on her wedding day. The Grandover ruin this by lying. The bride and groom had plans that they would go to the Grandover yearly to celebrate their anniversary. They will probably never set foot in this resort again.
Danielle LeMaster is truly amazing and so helpful. I was the bride that always forgot what she had already decided and she knew all of the decisions I had already made on paper. She was helpful on all aspects of the wedding reception and was very flexible, even offering to pick up and drop off our table runners. She knows how to prioritize and make her brides feel that everything is under control.
The resort itself is beautiful. My only qualm was not being able to do our pictures when we wanted to because the other wedding that was going on was running late because of the bride (yes brides we like to make the day all about us, but if you are using a place like this where more than one wedding is taking place, BE ON TIME TO YOUR OWN WEDDING! The whole being late is fashionable is ridiculously stupid. It is also incredibly rude to your guests.) I also wish the vendor were strict on time as well, forcing all brides to adhere to their schedule as much as possible so that if more than one bride had their wedding there, things can be coordinated smoothly.
The room we got after our reception was beautiful and the place is great to stay in. We didn't have hold a block for our guests just because we knew it was out of most people's budget, but we were allowed since, you know, we had our wedding reception there.
The resort is a great place to take wedding pictures and to stroll around the day after the wedding. It is very relaxing. Sunday brunch is delicious as well and something I would HIGHLY recommend doing.
Overall this place is a beautiful place, making it a great deal on how much you want to spend, which all depends on how big your wedding will be obviously. Danielle is a great source of information as well as a great shoulder to lean on when things get crazy (which they will)
We got married at Grandover Resort on 05/11/2013. We had both our ceremony and reception at Grandover Resort. This venue is beautiful for a wedding. We had gorgeous weather and it was an absolutely beautiful wedding! They have a beautiful location for ceremonies and several options to choose from for reception. Our reception was in the Grandview Ballroom, which is beautiful! Carole Henegar helped me from day 1 of the planning process and is wonderful to work with. She is very responsive and is a great resource!
We stayed here for our wedding night. There was supposed to be champagne and truffles in our room, they weren't there. We called to get them, and after 45 minutes and another phone call we got champagne and no truffles! Then for our breakfast the next morning they gave us a hard time for arriving for the Buffett at 10am, even though it wasn't supposed to end until 10:30. Never going there again!
I held my October wedding at Grandover. We did the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at Grandover to aviod having guests drive from one location to the other. We had approx 150 people from all over the country. The hotel was very accomidating to all of our requests and the service was impectable. To the guests the best part has been how great the food was. I have had numerous compliments about the food that we served. I would highly recommend Grandover.
The Grandover Resort provided such a beautiful atmosphere with all the trimmings. Our wedding ceremony was held on the meticulous lawn. I highly recommend using the sound system to help project you and your Officiant. Our attendees wouldn't have heard us if that wasn't in place. Water stations were present and the light breeze offered a little relief to the warm day. Our cocktail and reception was moved inside with excellent banquet staff ready to assist our guests. The food was incredible. We had a plated dinner and everything came out hot and in perfect timing. We couldn't have asked for more.
The service was exceptional.
Overall the Grandover was great and the staff assisted us every step of the way. We had a tasting in late June and the food was absolutely delicious (which was a major selling point for us). On the day of the wedding, although still good, the food was not as good.
I seriously can't say enough amazing things about Grandover. My husband and I were married there May 2010 and everything was beyond perfect and exceeded my expectations. We worked with Carole who when it came down to the day was completely on top of it. Her staff was very attentive and very professional. They never inturpted us during the night and if they had a question they would approach my parents so that we could enjoy the evening and not worry about a thing. I honestly couldn't have ask for anything more or have a better venue for our wedding.
The resort was beautiful. It had an amazing golf course which provided for great photographic moments. The food was delicious and they service was top notch.;The wedding coordinator is a little overbearing and controlling. She will question anything you do that is not strictly traditional. For example I used the bridesmaid's bouquets as centerpieces and she was worried because they were not being introduced with their flowers.
