I booked my wedding at Skypark (in Lake Arrowhead) and Graystone Catering and Event Planning is their designated caterer and day of vendor. Tammy (the day of coordinator) and her team took charge of all setup on the wedding day and every detail I had asked for was completed. My ceremony and reception looked amazing and the day was flawless. John, who is the head chef/cook, is incredibly talented and he makes the best steak I have ever had! This whole team is amazing and you can feel confident that they will get everything completed for your wedding day.

I recently had my wedding catered by John and amazing wife. They are the nicest people ever! Super accommodating. It was very cold on my wedding day and my grandmothers and babies had to stay on the lodge. When John found out they hadn't eaten yet he immediately brought food and drink for all. The food was delicious and the appetizers were amazing. I'm incredibly happy I chose them to cater my wedding. There are many stories of kindness they had done throughout my wedding but the care they provided for elderly and handicapped guest without question really is a testament to how they run their business. Having amazing food and great people who make it really added to my wedding. Thank you so much!

Loved working with John from the beginning. The food tasting was great with our close friends and the food tasted just as good at the wedding as it did the day of the tasting. Many of our guests had great reviews on the food and even stated it was some of the best food they have had at a wedding!

John & Tammy Ellis w/ Graystone catering did our wedding at Skypark. When we booked the venue, we found out they were the sole caterer for this property. We did some research and found they had excellent reviews so we’re not nervous about this. When we went for our tasting to their home office, we were welcomed so warmly, and the food already smelled great so we knew we were in for a treat. Graystone really rocks the buffet dinner style but for our wedding we knew we wanted a sit down plated dinner. Our guests and ourselves were not disappointed! Each guest was given a huge portion of two entrees, and two sides, with a beautiful salad to start. We had a couple vegetarians that were also accommodated for us at no extra charge. There is a kitchen at Skypark so everything was incredibly fresh, and all of our guests were raving about the food! They even packed up two plates for my husband and I to enjoy after the reception that night when they knew we’d be starving from dancing. We chose a shrimp display and a fruit and cheese presentation for our cocktail appetizers and our guests loved that too. It was set up so nicely, it added to the decor of the wedding. Tammy, doubled as our day of coordinator. The Monday before our wedding we had an in depth phone call where we went over all of the details from decor to schedule. She made sure that our decorations were set up to my specifications. Their team of servers and staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the property and they hustled the food out in a timely fashion and bussed it with equal grace. During dinner John, personally came out to wish us congratulations and make sure everything was good, we thought that was a very kind and professional touch. If your looking for great tasting classic food, with experience to back it, Graystone is a wonderful option.

John is awesome and so is his food. We would book him again! We booked him for our wedding in Big Bear. The tasting was one of the best we had tried and the guests the day of raved about the meal. Even with the weather against us the day of, a fire blocking the fastest route to our venue and a thunderstorm for a little while, he made sure to go an alternate route and be there on time. Although it did take me a couple attempts to get a hold of him in the beginning, he was very response once booked and answered many of my general wedding questions providing his expertise in the field. I wouldn't have wanted to go with anyone else. Thanks John!

John and Tammy did such an amazing job!!! My husband and I went to their beautiful house for our food tasting and John cooked for us, went over all the information, answered our questions and I left feeling so good and comfortable and really at ease with everything. My biggest worry was, yes the food will be good at his house since he’s only cooking for 2, but the quality can’t possibly be as good cooking for 200.....but it was!!! It was absolutely delicious everyone commented on the food and John checked on us through the dinner and it was absolutely perfect!!! They made it all so easy.

Graystone was recommended to us by our wedding venue, Skypark Weddings. The owners invited our immediate wedding party to a tasting at their home and showed us some pictures of their work at other weddings (food, appetizers, and ways they had displayed deserts and appetizers). The tasting was wonderful, a great dinner with choices that almost had us torn between options (it was all so good!). When it came to the wedding reception, they delivered exactly what we had ordered with great service. The food was wonderful, the staff was efficient and friendly. They coordinated well so that my husband and I would have time to eat at our own wedding while our guests were being served. We had a few guests who were vegan, and Graystone catered to our guests needs with no problems. Everyone had a delicious and filling meal, and many guests came up to tell us how much they enjoyed the appetizers during cocktail hour.

From the moment I started planning graystone made everything easier. The really make everything as easy as possible and help your vision come to life. We got married at The Grove in Redlands with no package, venue only. Graystone was our all inclusive package and did everything for us. Once we had our tasting, there was no doubt we had to have them. Food was very important to us and we still say that was the best food we’ve had! With high expectations I was anxious to taste the the food at the wedding and hoped it would be the same as the night of the tasting. My guests are still raving about the food! Tammy made my day run so smooth and didn’t leave anything for my family to worry about. Tammi and John checked on us through out the night and made sure we had everything we needed and wanted! I would recommend Graystone to anyone and everyone! Thank you for being apart of the best night of my life!

FOOD 5 stars! Many compliments on the island chicken & red potatoes! I hear bow tie salad also good – but when we were given our plate we didn’t get it.She probably given it if we asked, but I completely forgot about it@time!Now for the experience & why, sadly, can’t give 4 stars despite delish food. Too many headaches & broken promises. I will start off with I think John & Tammy are both nice people & I enjoyed working with them.However, for a business with 19 years experience, it should’ve been a lot smoother. I decided to go back to my emails & notes before I wrote review. My initial email was great! But my 3rd email John wrote $500 deposit, when came to paying deposit, suddenly $750 – honestly I didn’t think much at time – but the discrepancy in the email thread & that is a BIG discrepancy from a business perspective. That aside, I had many questions answered both via email & at our lovely tasting. Afters when things got hazy. I made it clear from day 1 I needed to rent linens & sweethearts table. John was a bit hard to reach until about a month out. I needed 2 verify linens, & he basically made me have a freak out b/c he said he wouldn’t be able to provide linens unless they took them when they left, which was before the end of reception! Same with SHT! I started to freak out b/c month before wedding now w no linens or SHT, he calmed me & said not to worry they’ll do it still like said, although they at first wanted me to take the linens & SHT home myself! Uh no! ok so they followed through, Great! But really not worth the extra stress, perhaps shouldn’t offer rentals from the beginning if you don’t want to stay for the reception! He said ALOT that he'd'd be waiting for us 2 at end of the aisle w/ appetizers & water. Did not happen! Only after my DOC already gave us, 3 mins before grand entrance, Tammy came w/ food. too little too late. At the tasting I made VERY clear I don’t like food waste. John assured NO problem, & he could definitely pack up at LEAST 2 “plates” for us 2 to enjoy after. That clearly did not happen. We had 10 people not show up, so I KNOW there was a lot of left over food. I had been looking forward to the plated left overs at the hotel since we would be hungry. I hope it wasn’t all thrown away since I said at least 10 meals were left. now The Coffee. About 8 guests came up to me said there was no coffee- put away when we cut cake! UNACCEPTABLE. I clearly asked in an email about this and the response was “through cake service” And if 8 people couldn’t get coffee w/ their dessert, that’s too many. Also, we were told the water would leave w/ caterer & if we wanted water after we needed provide, So I bought a Costco case of water explicitly for after they left. But unfortunately the bar tender was giving it out the whole night. Miscommunication. The bar was a good investment and the bartenders were GREAT! However, my only complaint was when we rented their bar, told didn’t have to worry about providing cups & drinks to be poured into cups like we wanted, instead of beer bottles being passed out ☹ that was not suppose to happen. We paid for the china package which looked really nice. Instead of champagne flute we had wine glasses, but wish the bartender or serving staff would have let guests know to use them! not used= waste of $ Recommend? yes b/c of food & monetary value, but be weary of communication, & if certain things are important to your or your group it might not happen as planned.

I wish I could give them zero stars!!! I found Graystone Catering at a bridal expo in Diamond Bar in February 2017. This is where we met John and his wife. They had samples of their menu and it was delicious. April came around and it was time for my fiance and I to make a decision about getting a caterer. I told him I really enjoyed Graystone Catering and he agreed. We then told our wedding planner that we wanted to select this company for our wedding. She got on it and started contacting John and finding out what the total and payment plan will be. We sent them a check for $500 non refundable deposit fee at the beginning on May. The whole month of May passed, the whole month on June passed and our check has not been cashed and my wedding planner could not get a hold of John. When she finally did in JULY, he stated that he overbooked for the day of my wedding. We couldn't believe it! How can he overbooked if we have been contacting with him for 4 months!Btw my wedding date is June 9th, 2018!!I was so upset, he then returned the signed contact and my check back. I couldn't believe this, I tried calling him myself to ask him why would he do this to us, this is suppose to be the happiest moment of my life and I wasted 4 months thinking I had a caterer and now all that time wasted I could of been looking for someone else. He never return my calls or anything not even to apologize! Hope they read this message and see how much they hurt me and my fiance.

The best wedding food ever... this is what I heard from all of my guests! It was amazing. He even threw in a vegetarian option for my 10 guests who happened to be veg with no extra charge!! worth every penny! we were so happy with how it turned out. and we got to take the left overs home! get the lemon chicken and the red potatoes :) but everything is amazing they even ran over and made sure my groom and i had water immediately after the ceremony . and brought us appetizers and anything we could have asked for!

John and Tammy were awesome. We were married in Big Bear at the Marina Resort over the summer (it has just been too crazy to write a review) and they were phenomenal. Very professional and great with communication. Our wedding was about 200 which can stress some out but John really had a solution for everything. Tammy was the one at the wedding, which was fine. She was very helpful with keeping things rolling and on time. And the food was amazing. People even were allowed seconds! Everyone raved about the food after. We selected the buttermilk/ lemon chicken and lasagna as about half of the group was vegetarian. It was loved by all! We also got the cake (well we chose cupcakes!) from Trish. Everyone raved also about them as well. Would HIGHLY recommend Graystone Catering!

My husband and I tried 3 different caterers before deciding on Graystone, they were the last ones we tried and the obvious choice! The food was delicious and equally importantly (to me anyways) the general look and decorations they had to keep the food area looking classy were lovely. We opted to have a fruit display at our wedding and Graystone did a great job with constantly replenishing it to be sure it always looked fresh. John the owner is super nice - the one oppsie we had is that he forgot to bring the vegetarian dish we had ordered for 5 people but it wasn't a big deal because between salad and veggies and sides everyone got plenty of food. I would definitely recommend Graystone I can't imagine it's easy to make such flavorful food for such large crowds but they know what they are doing!

All of our guests raved about the food at our wedding. John and his team created a wonderful dining experience for everyone. He was flexible and accommodating. From start to finish, everything was tasty and perfect. We especially loved the beautiful cheese platter appetizers. John included all of our favorites! The steak medallions and island chicken were a hit. Although we never met our "personal attendant" because we were busy with our guests, they were there making sure we were served and happy. Best of all, we got to enjoy some tasty leftovers in our cabin fridge later that night! Thanks!

We used Graystone Catering for our June wedding. From the tasting through the wedding itself, we had a great experience. John's cooking is incredibly delicious--don't miss the grilled island chicken or the rice pilaf! We enjoyed the buffet style which allowed our guests to pick and choose what (and how much) of everything they wanted to eat. We felt this was a lot less wasteful and more enjoyable for our guests than a traditional "pick your entre" style wedding dinner. We would definitely recommend Graystone for an overall delicious and great experience.

The food Graystone served was amazing. We loved the variety of the menu that we were able to choose from. We had chicken and tri-tip and both were perfectly cooked, the sides and salads were also delicious. They served quickly and efficiently and planned well for the number of people we had at our wedding. John Ellis, the owner, worked with us throughout the process and was friendly, professional and helpful as we were deciding what would be served. I would recommend them any day... and wish John could cook for us all the time!

John, his wife, and the staff at Graystone catering made our wedding! Their food is so good. My guests raved and raved about Graystone Catering’s food (and they are still raving about it!). John is amazing and responsive. Any question I had he answered. He is prompt with emails and really pulls out all the stops to make your wedding special. All their food is cooked on site so it is prepared fresh. We has island chicken, steak with onions and peppers, baby red potatoes, veggies, bread, spinach salad, and a marinated artichoke and mushroom salad. Everything was delicious and my only regret is not getting a chance to try the artichoke salad! John and his staff work very hard to make your day stress free. They set everything up perfectly. We rented tables, chairs, linens, china, and flat wear from them. Everything was taken care of. They put out our favors for us and set them up just perfectly. Hire Graystone Catering for your wedding! It will be the single best choice you make other than saying “I do!”

Loved their food; Loved our appointment and preview before we booked them, and my guests loved the food too. Everyone had great things to say about the dinner. I disliked the communication between John and us, and disliked that although all our communication was done through John, he wasn’t around for our event, and had sent his wife. His wife was lovely, but I felt that if he had stated he would be there at our wedding and was the person we were corresponding with, he should have been present.

The food tasting was awesome--in his house! The food was great. The service was awesome at the reception. It was buffet style and they served the guests. At the wedding everyone got big portions of food--which is great. The food was good, a little cold for us, but that was b/c we kept having people come up to us.

Tammy & John could not have been more professional and hard working!! Our food was amazing and our guests kept complimenting us on how good it was!! Our day was perfect, everything was just as we wanted and amazingly reasonable. I highly recommend their services if anyone is planning on getting married in their locations offered. There are no words to describe how incredible the service and food are with Graystone Catering. From the very beginning John was extremely helpful with all the organizing, planning, and food preparation. The food itself was amazing, our guests couldn't get enough, and the service was excellent. John and his crew did such an amazing job and I couldn't have asked for a better catering experience!

John From graystone catering was great to work with. He answered my every crazy question in a fast timely manner and he was very accomodating to our needs. Food was good and our guest enjoyed themselves. The package we recieved allowed us to customize and adjust our vendors and that was great too :)

Our caterer came as part of our venue (Pine Rose Weddings) package, but we had the opportunity to go to a tasting before and coordinate ourselves. The tasting was amazing. They gave us several choices from the menu. During the wedding the food was fantastic, not dry and bland, and it was all cooked on site. Also, John was so communicative and responsive, mostly through email, but a very wonderful person as well. That made the whole experience easy, organized, and well executed. We would use Greystone again for any future events. They did a superb job!!
