Great Events Catering

We had Great Events cater our wedding on 4/25/21. The food was outstanding and we had many compliments from guests. We did a buffet style with the mashed potato bar for dinner and included a guacamole bar in with our cocktail hour which was a big hit. We went to a tasting in 2020 and we never even tried any place else after tasting their food.

Don't think twice - book Great Events for your wedding day! Wow! I cannot say enough amazing things about Great Events Catering. My husband and I are SO happy we choose them and we would choose them again 100 times over. We have traveled extensively all over the world and I honestly think our wedding meal was the best meal of our lives! We had really high expectations for our wedding food and drink and Great Events exceeded every expectation by a mile! Wedding food is notoriously "iffy", but not theirs - every single thing we ate was absolutely amazing, and every single guest told us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. I also appreciated how responsive Aleksandra was throughout the entire wedding planning process. Planning a destination wedding from afar can be stressful, but Aleksandra always got back to (all) my emails, made time for phone calls with me, etc. and worked with us to make our food and drinks everything we wanted for our wedding. We chose to have a buffet and chose the Old World Havana menu, with mojitos as our signature drink, and everything was so delicious. We even chose to forego a cake in lieu of choosing three desserts from Great Events and we were so glad we did - they tasted so much better and really tied in with our theme, and with three choices, everyone was happy. We also appreciated how generous and flexible they were with us, even tweaking a dessert to our preferences and to match our theme. On the day of, Great Event's staff really stood out as exceptionally gracious, professional and thoughtful - not only did they tend to my husband and I like royalty (they made sure our plates and glasses were overflowing with every option at our table so we didn't have to miss any of the fun to wait on a buffet line), but they also were very conscientious with our guests. Some of their staff even made a plate up - without us even having to ask - for my husband's elderly grandfather so he wouldn't have to go up and get the food himself. Not only was the food exceptional, but we were truly touched by the level of professionalism in their service and execution on our wedding day. We are already talking about planning an anniversary trip back to Key West and trying to scheme up a way to get Great Events to cater it. Book them, you won't be sorry! Thanks so much, Great Events!

Great Events is amazing! My husband and I are big foodies so selecting our wedding caterer was a pretty big decision for us. We are so happy we found Great Events. Our guests are still raving about the the food at our wedding. Aleksandra was also really easy to work with. She quickly responded to every email and kept everything extremely organized. I had some pretty crazy requests for her and she was so accommodating. The service on our wedding day was also perfect. We cant recommend them enough!

Great Events was on a list of recommended caterers for our venue. We were initially worried about their prices, but after interacting with the other caterers, we knew that Great Events was the best option. Aleksandra was highly responsive and worked within our budget to come up with the best package for us. She was very detail oriented, which I liked as it meant she cared about the little things so that we wouldn't have to. The food at our wedding was spectacular. We had passed appetizers, an open bar and a buffet. The staff were extremely professional, and even though it wasn't a plated dinner, they went around to each table filling water glasses and checking in on the bride and groom to see if they needed anything. At one point one of our guests broke a glass and the staff cleaned it up promptly and made sure no one got hurt. Overall the service was beyond amazing. They are more expensive than other Key West caterers, but with Great Events you definitely get what you pay for.

I cannot gloat enough on the amazing food Great Events provided. Aleksandra and her staff are top notch. It seemed every guest commended the hors d'oeuvres and entrees from our reception....even the days following the wedding. Most of our guests are newly married and/or have attended countless weddings. Even still, the common compliment was that this was "the best wedding food they have ever had!" Aleksandra is so easy to work with and there are so many menu options and variations to choose from. She also accommodated one guest for us that has several food allergies. We could not have been more pleased. Thank you Great Events! 10/10 recommend!

Great Events Catering exceeded all expectations. Aleksandra is so easy to work with and the food is amazing. So many of our wedding guests raved that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. The service was also impeccable and we had a wonderful and friendly bartender at our reception as well. Overall, lovely experience with Great Events!! I would highly recommend them for weddings or any event in the keys

When it came time to select a Cater we thought, wedding food is never good so as long as we find something edible we should be set, then came Great Events! This food was hands down AMAZING. We thought after the initial tasting it was almost to good to be true and then the wedding day came and all of our guests could not believe how amazing their meals were! I was always told most brides never eat and to remember to eat, well I didnt need to remember or be reminded... i ate my entire plate! We worth the investment and we can't tell you how many of our guests still talk about how amazing our food was!

Very helpful in making recommendations on food, timing, setup, etc. The food was outstanding and we got MANY compliments on how good it was. People especially loved the guacamole bar. Would highly recommend!

My daughter and her husband were married last month in Key West. We used Great Events for our caterer and they did a fabulous job. First, Aleksandra was amazing – she was such a pleasure to work with and accommodated our every wish. And the food was out of this world. Everything from the passed appetizers to the seated meal to the late-night snacks was absolutely delicious. The servers were courteous and personable and the food was plentiful. I can’t thank Aleks and the staff enough for making our family’s event so very memorable. I highly recommend Great Events to anyone – you won’t be sorry.

When it came to food for our wedding, that was the part my husband wanted to choose. He is a chef, so it really meant a lot to him that our menu was phenomenal. After venue searching at resorts, we became discouraged with their preset menus with typical wedding food. We then decided to go with a venue where we could hire a caterer. Once the venue manager found out my husband's occupation, she immediately referred us to Great Events, stating they were for "foodies." We live here locally, so we were able to visit them for a tasting. It was out of this world. Chef David prepared everything for us, as discussed each menu item with us. Before the tasting, we had gone over a menu of what we wanted with Aleksandra, who is in charge of their operations. She was seriously AMAZING. My husband is originally from Poland & we wanted to incorporate that into our wedding. She was able to get us traditional Polish vodkas, as well as beers. All the guys at the wedding loved having Zywiec to drink! A few of my husband's family flew in from Poland, & Alex went as far as to get us Polish servers! She was literally more than just the front of the catering. We met with her numerous times, she helped me with the set up of everything, suggestions, she was there every step of the way for us during the wedding planing process. She even stopped by at the wedding to check on us. And the final menu chosen for the wedding was insane. I'm at the age where a lot of my friends are getting married, as well as attending weddings & all of the guests commented on how exceptional the food was. We had many guests that also work in the industry & they can be very judgmental, yet all commented about the amazing service & food. My husband & I have both worked in restaurants for many years, and in the Keys, good service can be difficult to find. The food was delivered promptly, and the servers & bartenders were on point. They constantly checked on myself as well as my husband & his family to keep our drinks fresh. Between the food, the exceptional service, & the kind treatment we received from Aleksandra, it was truly one of the best points of our wedding.

By far, the largest number of compliments we received from guests at our Key West wedding was about Great Events Catering. They are highly professional and passionate about food. It was seriously the best food I've ever had at a wedding, and our guests agreed. Plus, they brought me and my husband our own plate of appetizers and whatever we wanted to drink when we had some alone time before the reception. Then they walked me and my husband through our food stations prior to our guests, serving us everything we asked for, and bringing the plates to our table for us - we never even touched the plates. The service was great. The food was incredible. I couldn't recommend them more!

Great Events was a fabulous catering company to work with for our sunset cruise on 5/12/16. The Great Events staff were super helpful and responsive during the event planning process! The food was wonderful! The dessert spoon option was great and the food was all perfect for the sunset sail! I highly recommend Great Events as a catering company!

We used Great Events for our rehearsal/welcome catamaran cruise as well as the appetizers for the reception cocktail hour. Everything was DELICIOUS, beautiful and very well done. Highly recommend.

Awesome food, great staff, superb service!!!!

When we approached Great Events we knew we wanted an out of the box/unique wedding menu. We presented the chef with some ideas and he took that and ran with it. We came up with a 7 course, comport food, tapas style menu with lots of extras - dessert table, Hors d'oeuvre, late night snacks. The food was prepared on the spot and was so amazing. to see everyone's faces when the food was being brought out is something we will never forget. But more importantly not only did it all look great it tasted great. Everyone at the office was great to work with, when we wanted to tweak some things it was not a problem, when I had a last min request for a vegan meal they where able to pull together a great option.

Alex and her team at Great Events were wonderful. The food was excellent. They were very easy to work with and their presentation elevated our wedding. They even accomodated a vegetarian, picky bride!

Aleksandra & the chef at Great Events are hands down the most organized, talented & helpful catering team there is. Every detail was handled exactly as we discussed and seamlessly. On top of the service being beyond stellar I am still getting compliments from guests that is was "the BEST food ever served at a wedding!" Amazing crew <3 L&L West

Chef Dave from Great Events was exceptional! From the creative design of the menu including a raw bar and 4 passed Hors D'oeuvres to the dinner Stations, it was perfect. The stations allowed the guests to participate and create their meal ! My husband wanted freshly caught Mutton Snapper and Dave hired a captain to catch his desire- it was the hit if the party. He is a pleasure to work with and truly worked to make our 1930s themed wedding an event to remember.

We used Great Events Catering for our wedding and we loved them. We decided to do stations for our wedding, since it worked best for our family. They were flexible so we were able to tweak the menu to meet our needs. We worked with Cindy who was amazing throughout the process. The staff was also very friendly and efficient at the event. Great Events Catering was recently sold, as of end of June 2012, and Cindy and some of her staff are no longer with the company. We have not had contact with the new owners or chef who has also changed.

Great Events helped me prepare an hor d'oeuvres menu for my reception, which was held on a catamaran. They handled the boat situation beautifully and the food was wonderful -- they had a lot of choices that combined ethnic foods, presentation styles, etc and can work with you on anything. Excellent customer service as well, among the best of all vendors I used.

Great Events catered my wedding on 5/14/11 at the Southernmost House and I can't say enough good things about them! Their staff was professional and so wonderful to work with. They were attentive and gracious. Cindy, the general manager, handled the multiple changes to my menu I made efficiently and was so prompt responding to all emails. Andrew, the event designer, did such a beautiful set-up and I was absolutely stunned as to how gorgeous my wedding turned out. It was more than I ever imagined. Throughout the night, there were a few "issues." Bar ran out of white wine, bathroom ran out of TP, etc.. and Cindy handled all of this with efficiency and grace and I never knew about any of it! The food was delicious - we did a raw bar and sushi bar that was the freshest I have ever tasted. I cannot thank Great Events enough for making my wedding more wonderful than I ever imagined!!

Great Events Catering catered our wedding on May 29th, 2010 and we were very impressed with both the food and service. We had a beautiful tasting a with Rachel and the food was just amazing. They helped us work with our budget and even helped save us money with the cake! They were very reachable throughout our whole wedding process from beginning to end. Having a great caterer definitely makes your big day go by easier!!

We used Great Events to cater our Rehearsal Brunch. Planning a wedding on our own from Virginia without a wedding coordinator, I found Great Events by doing a google search. They were the first to respond to my request and were very helpful in e-mailing us detailed menu options. We had a strict budget to stick to for the brunch and Rachel helped tailor the menu and options to fit our needs. She was very flexible. She allowed us to use our own alcohol and we provided our own plates, napkins and silverware. We arranged for a tasting while we were in town and she set a table for all 5 of us and we left stuffed! We were so impressed with her presentation and culinary skills, we knew we had made the right choice. The day of the brunch, her staff showed up on time and set everything up without any direction from us. When we returned from our rehearsal, we were in awe. The pool area was truly transformed into a beautiful oasis and our guests were throughly impressed! The food was excellent and when it came time to pack up, Rachels staff broke down everything and even left us with doggie bags! I would highly recommend Great Events to any bride-to-be and have faith that Rachel and her staff will make your special day as seamless and tasteful as ours was!

Planning a wedding sans wedding planner from 1,000+ miles away can be very difficult &amp; very costly if you don't have the right foundation. For us, choosing the caterer was a very laborious process and fortunately we came out on top with Great Events! Rachel was so helpful and patient with all of my questions, dietary needs, corky requests and always very professional. I LOVED the food on our wedding day, the guests (one of whom is a well know chef in Boston) still bring up how much they ate &amp; enjoyed it. Thank you Rachel! GO GATORS!

I was married on 10/10/10 in Key West, and from the beginning to the end, Great Events was hands down the best vendor that I worked with. Communicative, personal, and helpful with the planning process, and on the day of, just spectacular. Food and drinks were excellent, my guests were very happy, and we came in AT budget, which is pretty much unheard of when it comes to weddings. I was over the moon about the food. Thank you to Great Events, and especially to Rachel, who was an angel the whole way through. I highly recommend.
