We had a wonderful wedding at Green Acre in June. We had our ceremony in the garden which was intimate and beautiful. Our cocktail reception was outside on the patio with dinner inside, followed by dancing under the market lights. There are several different areas on site for beautiful pictures. Our guests loved the food and the venue. Kirsten and Natalie are fantastic venue coordinators. We are so happy we chose Green Acre at Campus Point.
The food, the drinks, the atmosphere, and the staff are all awesome! We absolutely loved having our wedding at Green Acre. This place is amazing and one of the kind. Our guests could not stop talking about it and got up for seconds/thirds/fourths for food! Kayla and the Green Acre team are amazing. She makes sure your wedding vision comes to life.
I don't ever write reviews. Seriously. But Green Acre Campus Point deserves one. If you’re looking at the size of this review and wondering if you should read through it, or if you should book this venue, and wondering if the food is good, let me summarize for you. Trust me and my husband. Book it. This place is perfect for your wedding. For those who don’t mind reading, here are the details: One of our wedding guests came up to us during the wedding reception and asked: “How did you guys find this place? It’s like a secret of San Diego! Nobody knows about it and it is such a great place!” My now husband (feels so weird to call him that) was the one who found the venue online, read all its reviews, toured the place while FaceTiming me because I was busy at work, and he booked the venue. The deciding factor? Primarily because the venue was absolutely stunning, but also because the venue had games – corn hole, pin ball machine, billiards table, ping pong, arcade basketball. We wanted our guests to have fun, but we also enjoyed all these games as well. Everybody loved all the games!! Great alternative to photo booth! The location is set in a corporate area…it’s the only restaurant in the corporate complex. We thought it was odd at first, but you don’t even notice it at all. But the venue décor is unbeatable, and we didn’t really have to decorate much. We booked the Full Venue, which has a fee, but it was so worth it. We utilized every space of the venue, including areas by the parking lot which turned out great for photos. What’s neat is that each space of the venue is unique and themed. My mom is very picky and usually won’t share her thoughts or comments unless she really likes something; it has been two weeks since our wedding and my mom cannot stop talking about how much she liked the venue for its layout, design, look and feel. What’s interesting about the venue is that there is plenty of indoor and outdoor space. We started out with the outdoor space, and for cake cutting, we moved all the guest indoors, followed by dancing indoors. We worked with Kayla Bishar, the catering manager, and she answered her phone and emails at all hours of the day, very responsive. She was easy to work with, and very knowledgeable of the venue and of weddings. Next thing my husband and I want to rave about is the food – look no further folks. There is such a thing as GOOD WEDDING FOOD (in fact, EXCELLENT)! We were blown away during the tasting at the venue….everything we tried was so delicious, it made it very hard to narrow down what we actually wanted to serve at the wedding. For appetizers, we had the mojo pulled pork, pork belly sliders, and white pizza. For reception, we had the scallops, beef short rib, and a pasta. Multiple guests came up to us saying they’ve never had such good food at a wedding before. Another guest came up to us saying that the scallops were the best scallops they’ve ever had, EVER. We loved the venue so much that we even held our rehearsal “happy hour” so that our guests can fully enjoy the venue. We all had a blast at the wedding at Green Acre, and we want to do it all over again. Thank you for reading this review to the end. We hope you have an amazing wedding!!!!!
This place is a DREAM and I HIGHLY recommend the venue to anyone planning a wedding in San Diego. We worked with Taylor Berk, who was so helpful and accommodating. Our ceremony and dinner was supposed to be outside but due to rain we had to make a Plan B and it honestly turned out better than I think Plan A would have! The venue has so much style/decor that you really do not have to decorate much and they can give you table plans, etc. so that you do not have to worry about extra details in all of your planning. The men's "getting ready" area has games and a full bar, and the women's is a HUGE room on the top floor overlooking the mountains. Chef Jessie is INCREDIBLE and worked with us to make a personalized menu (we chose California BBQ). We received compliments on our food allll night and we seriously feel that our only regret from the wedding was not asking to take home leftovers! Overall, I cannot say enough great things about the Campus Pointe location. It was a dream come true to have our wedding here.
Our wedding was unforgettable thanks to Green Acre Campus Pointe. My husband and I wanted a destination wedding, but traveling out of state was out of our budget. I fell in love with Green Acre after finding it here on The Knot. The aesthetic is the perfect combination of rustic and modern. We toured a few other venues in LA, Pasadena, and San Diego, but we had our hearts set on Green Acre Campus Pointe. We knew we wouldn't need to decorate too much ourselves because it's so beautifully decorated inside. You have access to their chairs, tables, flatware, pool table, basketball game, arcade game, and corn hole. We did have to rent the ceremony chairs, but that wasn't a big deal. My husband's biggest concern for the wedding was the food, so we that's where a huge chunk of our budget went. The food was incredible thanks to Chef Brian Malarkey and his team.
The first coordinator we first worked with was Olivia Dixon, but when she left, we worked with Victoria Wade. Both ladies were very accommodating. We had a few date requests, but the dates we really wanted were booked (so hurry, because this place books fast since they only do weddings on weekends). We initially planned for both the ceremony and reception to be outdoors, but it ended up raining on our wedding day (it's good luck, right?) and everything had to be moved indoors. I'm so grateful that Green Acre didn't charge for this contingency plan (another huge reason we picked them since March weather is so unpredictable). The separate rooms allowed for great flow, although some of the trees did block the views of some of our guests. Just something to keep in mind if you're having a big indoor wedding.
There was a little hiccup in terms of what time I had access to the bridal suite and whether the champagne would be comp'd, but as long as you get everything in writing, there shouldn't be any problems. At the end of the day, we are so happy that we chose to get married here. Victoria even had a little trio of succulents sent to our house as a little thank you. Every time I see them, it reminds me of our wedding day.
You will not regret choosing Green Acre Campus Pointe! :)
Green Acre is not your typical wedding venue in a spectacular way. The layout and spacing is second to none with accommodating different spaces for each phase of the wedding night ( ie. ceremony, cocktail hr, dancing) with ease and beauty. This unique space allows for endless creativity to bring your dream wedding to life with both indoor and outdoor options. We are forever grateful to the staff at Green Acre from Victoria, the venue coordinator who guides you with ease and very receptive and quick at that, to the servers & bartenders who were very friendly and never let a glass or plate go empty. Our wedding had 150 guests and they were quick to keep lines moving and regulating transitions from cocktail hour to dinner to dancing. The food was amazing from the tasting experience to the transition of the wedding day. This venue also extended the party until midnight and it was easy to grab Ubers at the end of the party. We had numerous guests over compliment the venue and how beautiful and different it was. Do not even flinch at hosting your wedding here…it will forever be one for the memory books!
We recently did our wedding reception at Green Acre and it was MAGICAL. I can't recommend Victoria Wade and her team enough. Victoria was like an on-site wedding coordinator. She went above and beyond on everything. There was not a detail missed. If you want a combination of incredibly high-quality food and industrial-sheak ambience, Green Acre is THE place to host your reception. We are so happy we did!
This is a review for the Green Acre Nautilus at 3535 General Atomics Ct in Torrey Pines!!! After visiting this place my fiancee (now wife) and I knew immediately that this was going to be the perfect venue for our wedding. The facility can be anything from rustic to elegant or a mix of both, you can be inside, outside or both. The staff is top rate and were an absolute pleasure to work with, and the food was nothing short of spectacular. The staff was very attentive to all of our needs. They were very helpful, polite and accommodating to all our guests. Our guests are still commenting on the great food and uniqueness of this venue. It was worth every dollar we spent and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat! A huge shout out to Victoria Wade ( catering manager) as she helped make this all happen! We would highly recommend this venue if you are considering hosting an event or a wedding!!!
If you are looking for a wedding venue that is beautifully designed and with lots of greenery, look no further! I had a small wedding here and it was perfect! It is located in the business district of La Jolla but it is absolutely gorgeous, and feels super private and loved it. If you want to have an outdoor ceremony the organic garden is perfect. Victoria (the event coordinator) was so helpful and amazing.
We had our ceremony and reception at Green Acres this August (2017). Five star experience from start to end, from planning through the wedding day. Firstly, Olivia Dixon, the on-site coordinator was fabulous. So easy to work with, communicated clearly, and patiently answered any question we had over the year and a half of planning. Any request we had, she accommodated. Even the tasting was a great event. They treated us so well and it was lots of fun.
The space itself is absolutely gorgeous. It is very unique and matched our style perfectly. From the ceremony in the garden, dinner under string lights outside, and dancing inside, everything photographed beautifully. All of our guests commented on how lovely and different it was. We felt really lucky to have found Green Acres. We looked at a lot of places and nothing compared at this price point. Even the furniture available has a rustic and eclectic feel. To rent anything equivalent for another space would be very expensive.
Everything went off without a hitch the day of. The staff was attentive and professional. The space was set up just as we asked. The food was also the best I've ever had at a wedding, and many of our guests told us the same. We couldn't have asked for anything more from Green Acres. They did a wonderful job. I highly recommend this venue for your wedding!
What a great venue!! We cannot say enough good things about this hidden gem. After visiting many wonderful places in San Diego, my partner (now husband) and I knew immediately when we walked upto the restaurant this was going to be the perfect venue to host our guests. The facility can be anything from rustic to elegant or a mix of both, you can be inside, outside or both. The views from most any vantage point was breathtaking! The staff is top rate and were an absolute pleasure to work with, and the food and options was nothing short of spectacular. The service staff was very attentive, helpful, polite and accommodating to all our guests. Our guests are still commenting on the great food and uniqueness of this venue. It was worth every dollar we spent and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat! A huge shout out to Olivia as she helped make this all happen!
We had our wedding here this past weekend 10/15/16 and I have nothing but good things to say about this venue! Here's some highlights...
FOOD: amazing quality since most of the produce comes from their garden on site! We choose to do buffet, everything was delicious and was about average pricing. Only downside was we had to do extras (in case people took too much), so if I could do it again I'd probably order the plated dinner. But even after ordering extras, I think it was still about average pricing from what I've seen at other venues. You do HAVE to use them for food and beverage, since they're a restaurant, but I promise you won't be disappointed. We got so many complements on how amazing everything tasted, so in the end we were really happy with what we picked. Appetizers, entrees, sides, salad, dessert and 2 hour open bar was just under $10K for 140 people (not including tax and service fee).
SITE: The venue is tucked away, so you don't have to worry about noise complaints, there's plenty of parking, and the other businesses are all closed on weekends so there's no one else there. We choose to book the full venue - ceremony was on the lawn (had to rent separate chairs for that), cocktail hour was inside, and reception and dance floor were outside. We used all of the tables and chairs onsite for the reception, which saved a ton of money. You will have to get creative if you do so, since they have a mixture of tables sizes and you have to work around the trees and planters outside, but it worked out fine and looked great. One of the biggest selling points for me was how beautiful this venue is. The landscaping and decor have all been done meticulously, so the only decor I brought in myself were centerpieces, table runners and a few signs. No need to take away from what's already there that looks great! There were so many beautiful spots (both inside and outside) to take pictures, our photographer was in heaven! And once again, we got so many complements on how beautiful the location was and how unique it is.
STAFF: We worked with Olivia and everything was such a breeze, especially since we only booked it 4 months in advance. Each time we actually went to the venue (either for tastings or meetings) they were so accommodating and friendly. Day of, the staff was just as great. They were quick to bus tables, pour drinks, or help with anything you asked. They definitely have their staff trained well for big events like this. Another huge plus, they're super flexible, which I'm hoping isn't just because they're still new to weddings. We were able to leave all our decor in a room there the night before, set up our own lights, you can get there as early as you want the day of to set up, use the conference rooms upstairs for your bridal party getting ready, and in general they're just EASY to work with.
Overall, I'm so so so happy we picked this venue. I know we got it at a good time, since this is only their first year for weddings. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to spending $10-20K and really get their money's worth! Just keep in mind the service fee, tax, and labor charges if you're on a tight budget ;)
Love love love this venue! There are so many spaces to utilize and the food and service is amazing.
