The garden staff ensured my wedding day went smoothly, even with the predicted rain that day. GBBG was my first choice for ceremony location and I am so glad we were able to make that happen. There are so many beautiful locations in the garden.
We had our ceremony here under the Cowles Terrace and it was just a beautiful fall day! The staff was extremely accommodating and helped us navigate things through this pandemic. Our guests loved the site with the fall colors in the background!
Everything was perfect. They moved us to an outdoor site that was perfect when we had to move from an inside location at garden due to the covid restrictions
The event staff at the gardens were very responsive and friendly. They coordinated with our vendors to make everything run smoothly.
The real selling point of the gardens is the venue itself. They have a lovely bridal suite for the bride to get dressed in. The ceremony sites are all great, and the gardens are unbelievably beautiful in the summer. There are a bunch of unique and wonderful areas for photo ops there; more than just pretty flowers! We couldn't have asked for a prettier place to get married and take our pictures.
The one thing I didn't like that I wish we had known in advance was that they won't allow you to have alcohol on the premises (so we had to use juice for our wine ceremony).
GBBG was upfront and honest with services and pricing. I enjoyed the ease in working with them and loved the hall space as it is so beautiful it did not require much decor.
From our first meeting to our last meeting we felt so loved and embraced by this venue. Due to their enthusiasm and kindness my husband couldn’t see us have our reception anywhere else. Great communication, all up front information, and very professional.
The only negative review of our wedding experience is the Green Bay Botanical Garden. I would not advise having your wedding here - we regret it. We ran into various issues with the garden. I dealt with a few different 'coordinators' which made communication an issue (the only positive person I dealt with was Hannah). The day of our wedding, staff were non existent for help aside for in the morning for an hour to set up our slideshow. Our day of coordinator was supposed to have helped us with small tasks throughout our event and was no where to be found - our DJ tried tracking down help numerous times for things they were supposed to be helping us with - removing tables so we could start our first dances, dimming lights (they were on very bright during dinner and for our first dances - I had to try and figure out the lights during the first dances which is NOT what I should have been doing), and I requested that our unity candle be lit ( which is one of the things our coordinator was supposed to be helping us with). I also requested a table for our unity candle months ahead of time, which was not out on our site at the designated time as promised - which left me (last minute) scrambling to get things set up while guests were arriving on site. Our guests were also not being directed and did not know were to go - a few of them actually paying admission and aimlessly walking around the gardens in the rain. Another complaint I have is with a few of their policies - if there is bad weather, you need to have your ceremony inside, with no compensation. I also did not agree with their policy of forbidding false petals. I do not see why we could not have used false petals if they were picked up, so we could not have a flower girl. I also did not like that the garden did not provide us time in the morning without a large fee every hour for set up - this should be included in the large initial rental fee. A locked room should also be provided to store things the night before so it makes the day of easier. There are also a lot of hidden fees that the garden charges (Hundreds of dollars). If we were to do this all over again, the only thing I would change about our wedding is our venue - We would not have chosen the Green Bay Botanical Garden (although it was beautiful, it was a very stressful experience with the complaints outlined). If anyone has any questions about our experience, please do not hesitate to reach out. I'd hate for anyone else to go through what we did.
My husband and I had gotten married in the Kress Oval Garden. We were the first to get married that day, and was able to take advantage of the bridal suite. The botanical gardens were so accomdating for myself and my girls. They allowed us in the suite an hour early, and also to keep the suite for a little longer before the next bride took over. They also found us another room for all of our stuff to stay safe and locked for the ceremony. Everyone that day was on their game, and I am so lucky and blessed to have chosen the botanicals. Thank you everyone for such a great job, you all are amazing!!!
We got married on a Friday which was really nice because we were the only wedding that day. Sadly it was VERY hot that day, but the staff was very accommodating about letting the guests wait inside before and after the ceremony. It is a pricey venue but the photos are beautiful and I would do the same thing given the chance.
I will say that I have absolutely no regrets in selecting the Green Bay Botanical Garden for our venue. Simply put, it was amazing! I thought the pricing was very reasonable and I felt good about paying a non-profit instead of a reception hall. Amber and Haley were extremely helpful and are very experienced in event planning. Nicole helped on the wedding day; she was excellent. I really enjoyed working with people who clearly take pride in their work. Even small details, they were able to help out and make suggestions along the way. I really appreciated their help. We had a small wedding with 49 guests. The Kaftan Lusthaus building was perfect for our needs. Technically we were 'inside' but with the windows and doors open it was like we had an outdoors ceremony. It was really perfect. The next best part, you really cannot beat the beautiful setting of the gardens. All of our guests commented on how lovely the grounds were and how perfect the setting was. This also made it easy and convenient for our photos. We didn't need to run to various locations - there are so many different 'areas' within the garden for photo settings.
We really had a perfect wedding day and that certainly had to do in part to our selection of the Green Bay Botanical Garden.
Green Bay Botanical Gardens was amazing. The staff, Amber and Haley, both helped us through the entire process. The day of the wedding Nicole was extremely helpful getting everything organized. We are so grateful for all that they had done to help us in preparation as well as the day of our wedding.
We used the Green Bay Botanical Gardens as our wedding Reception venue and could not be happier with our choice! Amber so so accommodating and helpful. She answered all our questions (and there were a lot) in a timely manner and helped us in any way we could. We were at ease on the day of our event that everything would run smoothly and that we wouldn't have to worry about anything. We got beautiful photos in the gardens and a wondering night to remember. Definitely a beautiful venue that is easy to customize to get exactly what you want on your wedding day! I would highly recommend!
LOVED having our wedding here!! Such a beautiful place and the staff were so helpful! Hayley helped me walk thru all the details that needed to be done and was so patient with me and my anxiety to make sure everything was perfect! The "day of" person assisting me (Pretty sure her name is Stephanie) was so helpful and professional! I had forgotten a major detail of having something to put water in to water our ceremony tree and she came through for me last minute, thank you!! Also, she was great with keeping our guys on time and helping them with when to walk, etc. Thank you for everything. Highly recommend the Gardens for ANY type of event!! Absolutely gorgeous!
Absolutely beautiful! The staff was fantastic! Our ceremony was perfect!
The gardens are a pricey choice for a ceremony space, but in my opinion it was totally worth it. We wanted an outdoor ceremony and looked at many different venues, but nothing came close to the gardens. We had a large wedding and used the Kress Oval Gardens, and it was absolutely beautiful. Amber helped to make sure everything went smoothly, and even recommended different vendors to use. You can get a tent as a backup in case it rains, and you get to use the gardens afterwards to take pictures in. This alone was worth the money, they have many gorgeous locations for pictures. Most weddings a smaller percentage of guests come to the ceremony and many just come for the reception. Because of this unique venue almost everyone came to the ceremony and we had many compliments. Pricey, but I definitely recommend!
I loved getting married at GBBG. The setting was gorgeous for both the ceremony and photos, and my guests loved exploring the gardens. The biggest thing that bothered me about my experience is that they really cram in the weddings. It was a Sunday and I was still the second of three back-to-back weddings. We weren't able to get into the bridal dressing room until the previous party cleared out, and then we had to really rush and everyone had to haul their stuff out to the cars before we walked up the aisle. It was absolute mayhem, and with as much as we paid, it would have been nice to not have such stressful conditions before one of the most important moments of my life.
I loved having our wedding at the gbbg! This venue is just gorgeous! It has ENDLESS photo opportunities and just a beautiful special place to get married. We used their Cornerstone foundation hall for our reception which was a beautiful naturally decorated room with views of the garden and sunset. I wouldn't change a thing. The staff was super helpful and made our day perfect!
Every step through the gardens was beautiful. Staff was very friendly, easy to work with, and so accommodating to our needs.
We had the most beautiful wedding ceremony in the Kress Oval Garden. Everything was absolutely perfect and we are still getting compliments on how smooth the ceremony was! A huge thank you to all of the Green Bay Botanical Garden staff, especially Amber and Haley for being so helpful. I would recommend this venue to anyone for their ceremony... Thank you so much!!!
This venue was gorgeous, I mean it was a garden, come on! We got married in the Kaftan Lusthaus gazebo on an overcast August day. It was absolutely beautiful! The gazebo was the perfect size for our small ceremony and the garden was an amazing backdrop for all of our photos- so many different locations for photos in just one place! The staff did a great job to make sure things were organized, on time, and to make sure I did not see my husband until the time of the ceremony (since that was my preference). My bridesmaids and I were able to get ready in their bridal suite, which was a perfect size, had a bathroom, tons of mirrors, and a kit with safety pins and other items that we could have possibly forgotten. I could not be any happier with the staff, location, and how great everything went!
Everything went off amazingly. We were very impressed with Amber and the whole staff. Couldn't be happier!
This location was beautiful. I loved the fact that I could have all of my pictures at this location without having to leave. Everyone that I worked with was amazing (even if there was 3 different individuals). They were more than flexible with me no matter what the request.
I do have to agree with the other review. I felt that when paying $1400, just to get married there, I should have received more than 150 chairs and it could have included a table for our unity candle. Luckily it didn't rain because that would have been another $500 expense. Plus I had to pay a $50 photographer fee so that I could have professional pictures taken.
Overall the day and location was beautiful and to me the price was worth that. I would not recommend this location to anyone on a budget though.
The garden was beautiful, however they have three different people who work with the bride and groom and many times what they said conflicted eachother. I didn't like that they only provided 150 chairs, if you want more you have to pay more. They don't provide any type of table for the unity candle/sand ceremony, just adding one more thing to worry about. You would think after paying what you did to have the wedding there, they could provide a small table to use. Also, there is no bathroom down stairs where the bride and maids are supposed to get ready.
