Griffin & Griffin transformed a seasonal interior space into a beautiful wedding venue when rain forced us indoors at the last minute. We were so grateful for their extraordinary work.

Wow, Griffin and Griffin left us speechless on our wedding day!! As a former corporate event planner, I knew lighting would be the cherry on top of our event and found myself being very picky because I didn't want "just a little uplighting". Josie and John Griffin not only transformed our wedding reception into the most exsquisit site I've ever seen, they also held my hand every step of the way tapping into their HUGE rolodex of other contacts in the industry to help me find a wedding planner, florist and so much more. Their professionalism and true knack for their craft is unlike anything I've ever encountered in the industry. Just say yes to Griffin and Griffin - they will truly transform any venue into something only angels can imagine.

We were very excited to work with G&G lighting based off their reviews and design photos but didn't have a good experience. We met with the team in mid-April for our November wedding and provided a sample floorplan for our venue space, discussed priorities, budget, and style. G&G didn’t share any concerns. We were told we’d get a proposal back in 2 weeks, but we didn’t hear from them again for 6 months. When we did receive a proposal less than 1 month before the wedding it was for $25,000 even though our discussed budget was closer to $5,000. During two phone calls to discuss the quote, we struggled to work with the owner John who seemed too overwhelmed to focus on our event or answer questions. We asked G&G to reduce the services in the proposal to provide only what was available within the budget, instead they suggested we make cuts from other vendors to pay for additional lighting, which earlier in the process we would have done but at this point all other vendors had been fully paid. We made floor plan changes to cut lighting costs then requested additional items be removed to stay closer to our budget. We didn’t receive a response or an updated proposal for another 2.5 weeks, at this point we were very close to the wedding date and other vendors were pending information from G&G for their own event setup. Our day of coordinator at the venue offered to reach out to them directly for a response since their companies work together often. A few days later, they provided an updated proposal which we signed and paid immediately ($6000). At the wedding the lighting was setup and taken down on time and in the right areas with no issues. G&G may have been great in past years, but I think they have overextended themselves during this wedding season and it showed in the poor attitude from the owner and lack of responsiveness/ professionalism. After receiving the first proposal back from G&G (6 months after our meeting), I started looking for other lighting vendors. We were willing to forfeit our $750 deposit, because we didn’t feel good about working with G&G’s owner but since we were so close to the wedding date no one else was available. Overall, the execution was fine but not worth the cost or the frustration of dealing with this vendor.

Amazing vendor for our wedding! Very easy to work with. They did an amazing job transforming our tent into a beautiful space. The disco balls were a hit on the dance floor and made for such a fun experience for our guests. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you so much for everything!

Griffin and Griffin truly helped make our vision for our wedding day come to life! They created gorgeous lighting for us inside our tent, and also perfectly lit our dessert display that was in a barn next to the tent. They were also very flexible as we went back and forth with what we wanted and where we wanted it, as COVID kept us on our toes. The final creation was gorgeous and even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Seemingly such a simple task, make sure the tent is illuminated, when done with style has such an impact on the ambiance of the event. Highly recommend Griffin and Griffin.

We cannot say enough good things about Josie, John, and the entire team at Griffin & Griffin! We were recommended to G&G by our venue, and their expertise and creativity was evident from the first call. They took the time to get to know me (the bride), our needs, likes/dislikes, and ideas. We pulled photographs, and as I described elements of our "decor hopes" I was directed (right on the spot) to specific images on their social media platforms and website that helped us visualize their work in our space. They compiled several different quotes at different price points, and worked with us until we were able to match exactly what we were hoping for. As a couple impacted by Covid, their flexibility and special attention helped us feel very secure. Their day of service could not have been any smoother and we would highly recommend them - the aesthetic they helped create truly was perfect. Griffin and Griffin went above and beyond to transform our wedding space into a magical, dreamy, romantic venue. They were able to work with us with short notice and showed up and delivered the most stunning lighting. They had out of the box ideas to make a pretty plain barn look absolutely beautiful with hanging star lights, uplighting and amazing lighting behind the band. The photos are amazing due to their beautiful lighting and talent. I highly recommend spending the money to add beautiful lighting to your event - it was truly worth it and Griffin & Griffin were fabulous to work with. I can’t recommend them enough (check out their instagram!!!).

Griffin & Griffin truly transformed our wedding reception space, lighting can make such a huge difference! Our lighting in our reception space looked beautiful! They also hung a chandelier right above our sweetheart table that looked absolutely stunning! I highly recommend them, they did an amazing job!

The Griffin Griffin lighting team are magic makers. They can transform any space into an absolute dream. When hiring a lighting vendor for our day, there was simply no other option. Because nobody does an instillation like Josie & John. I feel so grateful to know these wonderful humans, but also to get to work with them on so many weddings - including our own. You made our wedding dream vision come true. From hanging driftwood, rattan pendants, and sisal rope with Edison bulbs - your talent and eye for design brought me to tears up entering our tent. We are so grateful for all your time and talents. We couldn’t imagine our day without you guys.

We are so grateful to have been referred to Griffin & Griffin for our wedding and "twilightesque" theme this year in Bar Harbor, Maine. Our wedding reception (aka twilight soiree) would not have been complete without their exquisite work and bringing our vision to life with their beautiful lighting designs. Their entire team was professional, responsive and took interest in learning the details of our wedding in order to best suggest designs that would complement our original concept. The cascade of lights over the dance floor and back drop lighting frames were magical and romantic. Our only wish was that we had more special events we could work with Griffin on but know there will be opportunities in the future!

We hired Griffin and Griffin to do the lighting and draping in our new barn venue we just opened, The Barn at Autumn Lane. They were amazing to work with and provided a lighting design that perfectly matched my vision! They transformed our barn, tent and patio area with unique but cohesive lighting packages, draping and greenery that added that touch of elegance and coziness we were looking for! I was blown away by what a difference the right lighting makes and would highly recommend these guys for any other event!

I dont know how these guys do it. They made magic happen for our wedding and the lighting was wonderful. It definitely helped create the atmosphere of the weekend and I know they worked really hard to make it all work!

Josie worked with us for our 2015 wedding and we were so pleased. The lighting was stunning and really helped to create the romantic, nostalgic feel that we were going for. They also helped us through a bit of a logistical issue with one of the lighting centerpieces and handled it with ease and patience. Thank you!
