We hired Haley as our “Day of Coordinator”; however she is more than a “Day of”. Haley was always available to answer any questions and was helpful in trying to find a new Mariachi band when ours cancelled. She is calm, friendly and bubbly; we loved working with her! My husband did not think we needed a “Day of”, however he now recommends a Day of to everyone who is on the fence! Reilly was so helpful during our rehearsal and made sure we got to our concert in time afterwards. Haley and her team are very professional, kind and easy-going and they made our big day go smoothly. We had an issue with our catering and Haley was able to handle it with no stress on us and she gave me a ride to the hotel! I highly recommend Haley and her team!!

I cannot say enough amazing things about working with Haley Makay Event Planning - truly our wedding would not have been the same without their help leading up to and on the day of our wedding. We knew we wanted to handle most of the planning and communicating with vendors, but we didn't now the first thing about wedding planning and just needed a little guidance along the way. Haley provided the perfect amount of balanced help that we needed to get us moving, not to mention their pricing was very reasonable compared to other similar vendors. When we had our 1 month out call with her, we she comprehensively and clearly evaluated where we were at and what she would recommend, and it made us feel so much better about where we were. I was a little nervous about the fact that our day-of coordinator would be a different person from the one helping us through the planning process (Haley), but trust me, you have nothing to worry about. Reilly is the best coordinator you could ask for. It was a huge plus that she had previously worked at the Highlands (our venue), but I know she would be amazing at any venue. She was so thorough in our final details calls and super on top of everything that happened on the day of - even small touches like bringing h'ors d'oeuvres from the mocktail hour to the bridal suite, which we didn't even ask her to do, was so thoughtful. Truly just her presence made me feel more calm and at ease. Thank you so much again!!!

Haley and her team are absolute magic - they are truly the reason we had such a successful outdoor tented wedding. I worked with Haley starting 3 months before our wedding and she was an incredible touch point along the way. It's so helpful to have someone who knows the business and could help me understand all of the different vendors and the way the whole industry works. I really trusted her expertise and organization - which kept my stress levels down! Haley and her team are professional, kind and really went the extra mile to ensure that everything went smoothly. Our day of coordination team were fabulous and I felt relaxed knowing that they could handle any of the day of wrinkles. When you're planning a wedding, it's easy to think the venue and food are the most important to get right. An amazing planner or coordinator is absolutely right up there. We are so lucky to have found Haley!

We love Haley Makay Events! We worked with Amanda for our October wedding and she made the day perfect. I did not have to stress about one single thing the entire day. Amanda was there whenever I needed her, she handled everything so smoothly and made our day a dream come true. Without her, our wedding would not have been the same. I cant recommend them enough!

What can I say, other than she was the wedding planner of our dreams! We were planning a wedding in the greater Detroit Area to be close to family, but we did not live there, so we knew we wanted a full time wedding planner from the start. Haley has so much experience with weddings in this area that she knew all the right recommendations for location, venue type, florals, etc. Since she has worked with most vendors in the area, she will save you the hard work of finding out who is the best vendor to go with and give you 3-4 options for you to choose from. In addition to her day to day talents, Haley is above all a wonderful person. I remember reaching out to her after reading a review on The Knot, where a bride described her as someone who felt like a friend by the time the wedding rolled around, and she did not want their friendship to end. It's totally true! Haley is super sweet and is your ride or die bestie. We already miss working with her and Claire!

Valerie and Mary, from Haley Makay Event Planning, were just the right ladies for the job! We had naively planned a backyard wedding with the intention of simplicity and some freedoms that come with not using a venue. It became apparent the scope of work we were encountering, but still wanted all of the personal touches. Having these ladies there for day-of coordinating was such a gift. They made sure every detail was handled, that our timeline went smoothly and that the bulk of the stress was off of us. We had a very unconventional wedding, but the main goal was for everyone to have fun. They totally got this concept and we couldn't have asked for a better day! Haley Makay Events was so helpful in our wedding planning process! We could not be happier with the level of service and care given to us. It was an *adventurous* wedding, to say the least - Ashlyn and Claire are absolute bulldogs when it comes to sticking to the plan while being flexible in all the best ways. Haley's pre-planning meeting and spreadsheet covered everything I needed and everything I didn't know I needed, and everyone was SO responsive with email and texts. I really, really felt like they actually cared and were excited, versus just another bride in the books. Could not recommend them enough.

Can’t say enough good things. Second best decision that I made. We started talking about 3 months out. I had some decisions made and had a vision but Haley took my vision and made it spectacular. Her staff was amazing and I will keep bragging about her and her staff every time someone asks me about my day. If you have any doubts that you need a planner GO With this one she is worth her fee.

We used Haley Makay Events’ “Day Of Coordinator” services for our August 2024 wedding. Despite the being called “Day Of”, we spoke with Haley multiple times before the big day to form a timeline, discuss decoration set-up, and to answer any lingering questions about the big day. My husband and I just got married last Thursday and Haley& Reilly helped coordinate our special day… I honestly don’t even know where to begin because they were both absolutely fabulous. Hands down the absolute SWEETEST “vendors”/ humans that we interacted with for our wedding!! We originally met Reilly first, actually through Highlands and she got us in contact with Haley as our wedding coordinator… coming to find out a few months later, Reilly joined Haley’s team and that was the biggest blessing! From the jump, Haley was super accommodating and friendly; she genuinely cared not only about our actual wedding day, but about Devin& I as people. Haley was absolutely amazing the week leading up to the wedding as she handled contacting all of our vendors and organizing them to deliver and set up our florals and DJ equipment. The day of the wedding, I was met with the warmest welcome from Reilly and Haley, they truly make you feel like family. They even ran to Panera to buy me a fruit cup before walking down the aisle! Our ceremony ended up going over our allotted time for our venue and Haley seamlessly handled the situation with 0 stress on us as the couple for that day. If you are looking for a genuinely good hearted and professional wedding coordinator, PLEASE use Haley and Reilly, they’re amazing! Devin and I loved our time with them!!!

Haley made our experience so spectacular and special. We had a lot of unique ideas with multiple vendors who were not traditional wedding vendors, and Haley did such a fantastic job making sure each vendor did exactly as planned. We also needed extra helpers throughout the weekend and she was able to provide incredible staff to help make sure every guest had an immaculate experience. Haley is a rockstar and couldn’t recommend someone more highly than Haley and her team.

One of the sweetest girls you will ever meet! Haley is such a rockstar, I'm so glad I found her to help me plan my wedding. We would have been lost without her. It's really so helpful to have someone who knows the business when you're asking questions to vendors and to have someone be in your corner. Not only did she help with reaching out to vendors beforehand and attending final meetings with me, but I just can't imagine how the day of would have gone without her there. She was so prepared, calm, and HELPFUL. Also so so responsive to calls, texts, facetimes. I never ever felt ignored or not prioritized. So, so thankful for her and her amazing team.

If you need a coordinator, you must hire this team. I can not say enough good things about them. From our first meeting, to the last hug goodbye I knew I made the right decision hiring them. Not only did they make my vision come to life better than I imagined, they helped put out a big fire(shuttle company didn’t show) to calming me down and finding a perfect solution. Haley and her team were absolutely fantastic. As a bride who had no idea what their vision was and decided to plan a wedding in less than 6 months, Haley made it all happen. Haley was very helpful for the 3 months leading up to the wedding. She helped keep everything organized and made all the final details fall into place. On the day of, Reilly was incredible. She kept everyone calm and in check. She had everything we could possibly need in her fanny pack :) Reilly and Amanda made our venue beautiful and helped our evening go off without a hitch. It has been a week since our wedding and we are still in awe of Haley and her team. Haley guided us through every detail of planning our wedding weekend and it turned out better than we dreamed. If anything did not go as planned she must have kept it hidden from us because every moment was absolutely perfect. We hired a wedding planner for our special day and ended up with a friend. The day of she danced with me, laughed with me, fed me, gave me her socks, laced my husbands shoes, called multiple urgent cares to see who had the shortest wait (accident prone little brothers), helped me into my second dress, brought me sips of margarita, and so much more, all while coordinating every moment to perfection. Haley is amazing! She always responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had and was easily reachable by text and phone. She handled the entire day for us and planned it hour by hour. Haley went above and beyond when our venue was difficult to communicate with. Highly recommend!!

Initially, we were not planning on having a day-of coordinator, but as family dynamics became more challenging, we realized we needed one. We are so happy we chose Haley Makay Events because Haley guided us through every decision and reassured us whenever it was needed. This led us to have the most fun on our wedding day. Booking Haley for my day of wedding coordinator was the best decision I made! She goes above and beyond in her line of work. She not only helped with executing my timeline and making sure my decor was exactly how I wanted (it looked like a Pinterest photo!) she also helped bustle my dress, asked if I was okay the whole day, brought my husband and I food and drink, and just so many more things. If I had another wedding I would book her and her team again in a heartbeat. She has so much energy and positivity which is what is needed for a long day!

When searching for a wedding coordinator we were looking for someone who had a passion for weddings who would be able to handle our day of coordination to allow everyone to be a guest at our wedding. We hired Haley for day-of coordination for our wedding and we could not be happier with our decision. We had 2 meetings before the wedding where she helped us finalize details and gave us guidance on questions to ask our vendors. She kept us calm leading up to the wedding and on the day. I don't even where to begin--having Haley help coordinate my wedding was a complete God send. I honestly don't know how I would have planned and gotten through my wedding day without her. She is a true professional and an expert at her craft. She knows the right types of questions to ask when working with vendors and always provided helpful insight. I knew I didn't have to worry about anything on my wedding or stress the little details because Haley was always on it. She was always so accommodating and enthusiastic--we are so lucky to have found her!! Throughout the process of working with Haley, she became more of a friend, rather than just your wedding planner. I'm honestly sad it's all over because I genuinely miss working with her. She always wanted to make my needs were put first--throughout the wedding planning process and on my wedding day. Honestly the best person to ever work with! Not only is she an amazing wedding planner but in that time she also becomes and friend and will do absolutely anything for you! I cannot recommend Haley enough! She pulled off our dream wedding in just 6 months and she made sure we got everything we wanted! I could not recommend Haley Makay Events enough! Her "helper" package was everything we needed - she checked in with us throughout our engagement to see what help we needed while planning, guided us on what we should have booked by when (even helped book the DJ and cake for us), was a main contact with our venue throughout planning, and as we got closer was such a helpful source of decor design/planning and creating a timeline for the day! She came to every meeting with so many details for us to review, including things I never would have thought about on my own. And when it came to the day of our wedding, we did not have to think about a THING. She made sure everyone was where they needed to be at all times (us, parents, wedding party, photographers, etc.), handled all setup and tear down, and made sure to know all relationship dynamics so she could step in with a distraction before any attitudes could fly. I truly felt like she knew our vision and brains inside and out, and was such a calming energy when planning got stressful. Haley and her team are 1000% worth the investment, and I would hire her again for any future party/event in a HEARTBEAT!!

Haley organized a spectacular wedding for us and was able to help us find vendors that delivered exactly what we needed without trying to upcharge and add things we did not want. On the wedding day itself, she made sure that the bride and myself (groom) were well taken care of and enjoyed the day to the fullest. Same goes for the rest of the guests and the wedding party. Haley took care of all the inevitable wedding day struggles that popped up, and did so with ease and without distracting us from our big day. Highly recommend!

I am really upset I only have 3500 characters to write my review for Haley, because I have so many positive and wonderful things to say! I hired her as my full, dream day wedding planner, and trust me when I say you NEED her, whether as a full planner or a day-of coordinator. Having a planner/coordinator is not an expense you want to skimp on, and if you're even thinking about it a little bit, just hire Haley. I promise you, you will not regret it. You're obviously going to get the professionalism and execution of your event, but the part that is so unique to Haley is her thoughtfulness, kindness, and overall good heart. She was hired to make my wedding day go smoothly (and it did!), but she absolutely over-delivered in making sure I was comfortable and truly enjoying my day every step of the way. She took control of everything. My husband even said this the day after our wedding: "I had so much fun. And honestly, I think it's because Haley did such a good job of taking control of everything that day. I was really worried you'd be stressed out, but you weren't and it made the day that much better for me. Haley really made that happen for us." Some things that really made my day special because of Haley: 1) Haley called me the morning of and asked if she could get me a special coffee from a café we both love. This generosity and thoughtfulness floored me because I knew the long list of errands she was running that morning (i.e., picking up photos, getting lunch for the wedding party, communicating with all of my vendors, etc.) and the fact that she offered to stop a specific place to get me coffee so that my morning could be that much more special? WOW) 2) We planned a post-wedding brunch at the 11th hour and Haley was so helpful in finding a venue for us. She even came to the venue and helped set up the morning after! 3) She made sure my husband and I got to see our reception space and décor before all guests arrived. 4) She gifted me the sweetest meditation journal to jot down notes of the morning so that I could always remember the morning of wedding. 5) She always offered to help look for vendors that I had given up on (i.e., videographer, bouquet preservation, etc.), whether I had given up on them due to cost or just lack of capacity to deal, but she kept moving me forward so that I could have my dream wedding and zero regrets 6) She always started our meetings off with asking how I was feeling and I could tell she wanted a genuine answer. It felt really nice to know she cared about me and not just our wedding. 7) Her ability to remain calm and keep her peace is unreal. Every wedding has a few hiccups here and there, and she handled everything with such grace. This is so important for the bride and groom because if you're planner is freaking out, you will freak out. Haley does not do anything but smile and make you feel loved and cared for ALL DAY. 8) She always remains YOUR teammate and is proactive in fighting for what YOU want as the bride. There were several instances where she stepped in for me and negotiated changes that were favorable for me. There are so many other things I can say, but I'm getting close to the 3500 character limit. Every vendor of mine LOVED Haley, and that also says a lot. She is fantastic and I know you will have an amazing wedding planning experience with her by your side.

Haley was excellent. We hired her for our reception only because we were on a tight budget and had help for the ceremony set up. That said, wedding planning is its own art and we were not ready! Haley helped us so much to be ready, though and to do so with the peace and calm we needed (and wanted) during our wedding weekend. She helped us get what we wanted without breaking the budget, hopped on a call with us and talked with the restaurant, and gave us some extra time to talk through the ceremony, offering much needed advice, questions, and vendor recs that we didn't know we needed. In addition, one of us was not a bride who typically embraced artificial flowers, but Haley has made both of us believers that the expense of real flowers, doesn't mean that synthetic flowers have to look fake or cheap, which meant we ended up with a mix of both real and artificial and, honestly, we couldn't tell the difference! We wanted minimalist decor and our guests, many of whom were from out of town, enjoyed the ceremony and celebrations! So much of this was because Haley listened to what we wanted and needed and let us know we could have both! We didn't think it was possible on our budget, but we had everything we dreamed of in a way that was organized and beautiful. Haley's sweetness, joy, and can-do attitude were a whole vibe. We'd reach out to her again if we ever have to plan a major event like this one. Maybe an anniversary celebration?!

Haley went above and beyond with her time, attitude, and knowledge - all at a reasonable price. I'd recommend her to anyone getting married in Michigan who wants to make sure the day feels as smooth as silk for the bride. She went to extra meetings, always responded as soon as possible, and made sure my wife was comfortable every step of the way. She had notes for everything and even helped manage a myriad of questions from the in laws. Thanks Haley.

Haley is the absolute BEST! From the moment we engaged her for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding, she went above and beyond to make sure the day was as special as we imagined it to be. On the day of the wedding, she was on point and took care of every detail with a calming presence that made the day run smoothly, while removing the stress from the wedding party and family. She was thorough, thoughtful, and respectful in working with everyone from the venue and catering staff to the photographer, to the florist, to the families...everyone on the team. I know she took care of some little glitches--which are inevitable with any event, no matter how much you plan--but I honestly no one remembers what they were or how she did it because it was seamless and she made it look effortless. Words cannot adequately express how grateful I am to Haley for all she did to create a beautiful wedding experience.

Haley was an absolute genius when it came to planning my wedding! She was always there when I called, day or night. She took all of my thoughts and ideas and turned them into reality. She took all of my stress and anxiety about choosing vendors and budgeting and decorating, and turned my day into something better than I could have ever imagined. All I had to do was show up and everything else was done. She is an amazing person, always happy and always having a solution to any problem that could arise. If I could do it all again she would be the first person I called!! She is such a sweet and beautiful soul! It was truly a blessing to have her!
