The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted. The historic styling of the space created such a warm, elegant vibe, and guests couldn’t stop commenting on how beautiful the room was. After dinner, we opened things up for a welcome party with 120+ guests, and it worked flawlessly. The space fit everyone comfortably, it never felt crowded or overwhelming(which we were worried about) and the energy was fantastic. It was lively without being too loud, and bartenders kept lines short so no one ever waited long for a drink. The staff on the day was friendly, professional, and made everything run smoothly. During planning, we worked with Sydney, who was amazing. She made the entire process stress-free and painless, and was super fun to work with. She toured both our parents around the venue on separate occasions and made everyone feel excited and well-taken care of. We had our guests stay at the Park Plaza, hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at The Hampshire House and then our wedding nearby at The Tower. It was a perfect Boston wedding and great for out of town guests if you are wanting to showcase Boston and the historic and beautiful architecture. Many of our guests were from Chicago and also loved seeing the Cheers Bar underneath. Our event was great and we would highly recommend Sydney and the Hampshire House for any wedding event.

We worked with Sydney and she was amazing - she was so patient and guided us through all of the many decisions we needed to make. We felt like we were in the very best hands with her, and I am so grateful that we got to work with her. She is both very kind and very knowledgable, and was a huge part of the success of our day! Everyone at the Hampshire House is lovely and helpful, and we just feel so happy that we chose them. There were so many beautiful and interesting spots for photos as well. The space looked so beautiful - it gives really old school Boston vibes, and the setting and location cannot be beat. Cannot recommend this venue enough to others who are looking for the perfect Boston spot to get married and celebrate. NOTE: our wedding date was August 2nd, it won't let me enter a past date on this review.

Food and drinks were great and all our guests had a fantastic time. Would highly recommend and would return for another event!

For an event like a wedding, every detail from the big budget decisions to the smallest touches matters, and they helped us arrange everything perfectly. With their help and regular check-ins, I felt completely confident that our wedding was in the best hands! Overall, Hampshire House is a truly wonderful venue for an intimate wedding (we had ours on the third floor with a total of 26 guests), and it felt just right. Their prices are also very reasonable. Oh, and I have to mention: the food was absolutely delicious! Everyone complimented both the food and the beverages. As I write this, the memories of that day come flooding back. It was such a beautiful day, and it wouldn't have been perfect without Hampshire House. Thank you so much for making our dream day possible!

These three incredible women were everywhere—effortlessly managing logistics, adjusting details on the fly, and doing it all with radiant smiles. They handled so many things I could see—setting up our escort card table to look pristine, subtly hiding visual clutter to keep the space beautiful, helping adjust the tone of the pianist’s music to match the mood, even helping us with tech like setting up my phone for the playlist—and I’m sure there were dozens more things they did that we didn’t even notice. That’s the thing about the team at Hampshire House: they care as deeply and attentively as we did. They treated our wedding as something truly meaningful, not just another event on the calendar. Every detail was cared for, not just the obvious ones, but even the ones we didn’t know to think about. Hampshire House made us feel so seen, so supported, and so celebrated. We will remember their kindness, effort, and magic forever:)

a venue for our wedding it was important to us that the space felt like it had lots of character and enchantment. I wanted my guests to feel like they were being transported to another time and place and have a wonderful experience through the visual presentation. Upon touring the Hampshire House, we immediately fell in love with the sophistication of the old Bostonian mansion, the library with its wooden shelves and gorgeous fireplace, the warm and rich colors of the space with its ornate décor and intimate charm. The location is fantastic with the Boston Public Garden directly across the street which made for magical photos with the fall foliage. Hampshire House evoked the exact whimsical and romantic feeling that we were looking for. Sydney and her team worked diligently with us from the first steps of planning through scheduling, menu selection, rentals and coordination of vendor logistics with load in and out, etc. Sydney offered great insight and experience into the planning process and was there to make sure our big day was everything we could have dreamt of. I felt that the Hampshire House team thought of every detail to make us feel special and as for day of logistics, I was so pleased to find that they took care of essentially everything leaving no added stress to our day. They were very communicative and accommodating to our requests and even held on to some items for us that had been forgotten after the reception until we were able to come back to pick them up. The food was incredible, my guests are still raving about the decadent flavors and beautiful presentation of every item on the menu. The Hampshire House is a top notch venue with an incredible customer experience, do yourself a favor and book your wedding or special event with them!

what we were looking for in a wedding venue. It has that old New England charm, is located right next to the beautiful Public Gardens and is the perfect size for an intimate, small to medium sized wedding (we had 60-70 guests in attendance). Most of all, the food here is beyond exceptional and some of the best we’ve had. We are major foodies, and having food that was well-plated, generously portioned, and above all delicious and memorable was a high priority item for us. We were lucky enough to be able to work with Sydney Turnbull and the Hampshire house team. Sydney is the most kind, professional, and detail-oriented catering sales manager and event coordinator and thanks to her, all our venue planning with Hampshire House was truly smooth sailing and stress-free. Sydney constantly kept us in the loop with next steps in our planning timeline, offering thoughtful recommendations and suggestions for our wedding (such as floral placements during our ceremony, order and timing of toasts/speeches, seating arrangements, the list goes on!) She kept in contact with all our vendors, always promptly responded to our many emails, walked us through all the steps during our ceremony rehearsal —somehow making it seem much less daunting, and on our big day Sydney seemed to always be one step ahead, preparing and leading us through every portion of our wedding timeline in such a seamless way. Lastly, since our wedding ended late into the evening, Hampshire House thoughtfully held on to and organized all our florals, and various wedding signage and other items so that we were able to return and pick it up at the venue on a following day. This made it so we didn’t have to worry about anything at all night of and could end our wedding day with the peace of mind that everything was taken care of. Truly, we cannot recommend Sydney and the Hampshire House enough and if we were to do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing!

perfect for guests who wanted to explore Boston. Being able to take pictures in the Public Garden after the ceremony was a real highlight. Our guests could not stop talking about how good the food was, and the staff were wonderful. We made use of both floors, which were perfect for our group of 60. Lindsay was awesome to work with. She was professional, responsive and a major part of making this a great experience for us. We had a ton of questions, and quite a few last-minute changes, and we really appreciated how helpful she was throughout the whole process. We highly, highly recommend Hampshire House. We had the night of our lives and are so very happy with how it turned out.

it was perfect. Third floor room overlooking Boston Gardens in mid bloom made my guests feel as though they were in an elegant home. The wait staff(Randi & Sean) were helpful keeping the kids meals (from Cheers) timely. I was unaware of the kids orders (and they loved the grilled cheese) . This allows you to play with the space to create an intimate environment for all of the guests. We were able to spend a moment of quality time with each one of them. We planned everything in under three months and they were able to accommodate all of our needs, requests, and last-minute changes in a seamless manner. Lindsay Beshero was outstanding, she was always on top of every detail and made sure that the reception was perfectly timed and ran smoothly. I just can't recommend her enough as your main point of contact for any event or wedding. The professionalism of the staff was incredible. They were very attentive to all the guests, especially the elderly ones, always eager to help, and made sure that the place looked in great shape by the time all the guests arrived and that it remained that way throughout the evening. As for the food, it was out of this world. Due to the size of our guest list, we decided to go with the buffet option and that was the best decision. People were able to try the two pasta stations, the tenderloin, and the salmon. The guests liked it so much that there was a line for seconds and they even asked us where did we got the hors d'oeuvres from. Hampshire House is a top-tier wedding venue in the Boston area. Flanked by the streets of Beacon Hill and right in front of the Boston Public Garden, the building's elegance makes you feel that you are part of history or, in this case, that you are making history there.

The day of was a complete dream and Michele helped us with so many last minute changes and personally helped with laying our cards. One example of absolutely incredible and above and beyond service - during the reception I was making my rounds to different tables and brought my food with me. Within 10 seconds Karim had brought me a chair to sit and fresh napkin and water. The guests themselves were blown away with the level of service. We had some non traditional elements at our reception and Michele not only allowed but was enthusiastic about them. I wish that every person could have the experience we did. Please book them for any part of your wedding, it is guaranteed to be magical!

Hampshire House. A beautiful venue, a perfect night, delicious and well-presented food and drinks, but more than all this: the team of Hampshire House staff members ensured that our guests were comfortable, that we had time to ourselves on our special day, and that everything transitioned seamlessly throughout the night. There were times when it seemed as if Sydney had some magical power, anticipating our every need before we even knew we needed something! Her communication from the getgo was fast and efficient and her years of experience in the wedding/event industry shone through in everything she did. If you are looking for an intimate, classic Boston wedding, Hampshire House needs to be on your short-list. After all, it’s one of the only places in the city which was intentionally built and designed for hosting weddings. The food here is delicious, the menu options are various, and the bar/liquor options leave nothing to be desired. The option to use both the second and third floors broke the evening up in really nice ways, and allowed our guests to “explore” more of the venue space and see the sunset over the Public Garden from one of the best positions in the city.

Our wedding was beautiful, more than 75% of our guest were visiting from out of town and really enjoyed Hampshire House. We keep hearing from our friends and family how delicious the food was and they were so full at the end of the night they barely had room for wedding cake. Sydney and her staff are very professional and made sure everyones allergies were addressed, everyone was very pleased with the service. The night flowed so smoothly, I could not have asked for anything better.

to look any farther to find the perfect place to host our wedding. We were looking for a place that felt intimate, warm, romantic, and elegant. We hosted a wedding for 73 people, and it was absolutely perfect. We have had nothing but positive experiences with the Hampshire House since with first met our coordinator, Lindsay Beshero just over a year before our wedding. They provided flexibility in planning while also taking care of all the catering and rentals. We loved our tasting, where Lindsay helped us iron out even the smallest details well in advance of our ceremony and reception. While they were professional and responsive throughout the planning process, the real joy in working with them was on the day of our wedding. The ceremony and reception spaces are absolutely stunning and are in the perfect location in downtown Boston, right off the Boston Garden and in the vicinity of plenty of hotel and transportation options. Because of the nature of the venue, you get to enjoy both the grand second floor library and the beautiful third floor reception space and bar. Transitioning back and forth throughout the evening was seamless, and allowed our guests to mingle and truly enjoy spending time together. The staff was warm and extremely responsive to our needs. Any request we had was met in moments. Another reviewer commented that they felt like they got to enjoy being a guest at their own wedding, and I couldn’t agree more. Our guests raved about the food and service, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We would choose the Hampshire House again in a heartbeat.

decided to take a look at more “traditional” wedding venues around the city and what we found with the Hampshire House was anything but ordinary. From our first meeting to the last dance at our wedding, the staff at the Hampshire House went out of their way to make us feel like we were the only couple they were working with. How anyone plans a wedding without Michelle is a mystery. Her and Karim’s attention to detail is unbelievable - absolute masters of their craft. Whether we were planning the menu or trying to figure out how to get a processional full of kids down the aisle, they were by our side bringing our wedding vision to life. When life threw us a curveball and forced us to postpone our big day, the compassion and empathy the folx at the Hampshire House showed absolutely blew us away and it was like no time had passed when we were ready start planning again a few months later. While the professionalism and service are reason enough to plan your wedding here, you can’t talk about this place without raving about the venue itself. Perfectly situated across from the Public Garden and nestled in Beacon Hill, you couldn’t ask for a more picturesque place to get married. The library is a stunning setting to say I do, and the whole house evokes a kind of historical warmth and charm you can’t find at any other venue in Boston. We also have to take a minute to mention how phenomenal the food was too. Every hors d’oeuvre and dish was perfectly made, and the staff even went out of their way to label everything for our guests with allergies. We feel so lucky to have been able to get married at here, work with the incredible staff, and share such a cool, historic venue with our guests. If you want a worry free wedding at a gorgeous venue with the best service you could ever ask for, do yourself (and your guests) a favor and say “I Do” at Hampshire House, you won’t be disappointed. son - a perfect setting for a timeless, intimate wedding. Overlooking Boston Common and right in the middle of the city it was both easy for our guests to get to and quintessentially Boston. A perfect location for doing a photo shoot in some of the city’s most iconic places and a gorgeous setting in and of itself (our photos turned out amazing!). Choosing the Hampshire House made the rest of the wedding planning easy and fun - Michele who was our coordinator took so much stress out of the preparations, patiently responding to my many questions, helping us make decisions, and last minute guest changes. She was also a great presence the day of, allowing us to focus on enjoying the day. The food was beyond delicious, which was really important to us, incorporating some Boston classics such as perfect little lobster rolls and clam chowder cups, and with many options for guests with dietary restrictions. We couldn’t be any happier with our decision to choose the Hampshire House and cannot recommend it highly enough!

Our family and friends are all foodies, and if the food was bad, we would have heard about it until the end of time. Instead, people could not get over how amazing both the cocktail hour food was, but also the dinner hour. While the space was stunning to begin with, one of the main considerations in picking this venue was the staff. Everyone was so helpful and attentive to our needs right from the start. They made the whole experience as stress free as possible. The Director/Coordinator, Michele Giacomozzi was amazing. She was always there to answer any questions we had or offer any help she could. Michele did an outstanding job the day of, left us feeling stress free and allowed us to live in the moment. We had so many compliments afterwards about the food, the beauty of the space, and especially the stunning views of the public gardens. We could not have imagined a more perfect day.

The Hampshire House made for a gorgeous and timeless wedding venue for our winter wedding. And the food was unmatched! Guests are still telling us how fabulous the hors d'oeuvres were. This is such a hidden gem in Boston!
