When we booked with our date in January of 2021 for our 2022 wedding everyone was so great to work with! Throughout the next year there was open communication, no issues at all!!
Then, the day before the wedding we paid extra to have the room the entire day before. Our wedding coordinator was there—but had to be found whenever we needed anything. We put all the chair covers on the day before ourselves to save money. We had to ask for more chair covers 4 times before we had enough. When your in a time crunch that is the last thing I needed to be doing.
Weeks before I sent an email and made it clear there were certain things that needed to be in place by that Friday night for our decorator. I made it clear at our last meeting and then AGAIN the week of and the day before. Well NOTHING they said would be in place was in place. Our decorator had to come BACK the next day to finish. There was no coordinator there helping us the day before like it was in our contract.
The morning of our wedding I was told that our coordinator would be available. I saw her ONCE and it was at noon. She said she was going to be there all day. I had to go downstairs to the ballroom and get things set up and explained all the things that were supposed to be DONE the day prior. It got done 1 hour prior. The coordinator was not there for the ceremony or anything following.
They had ONE bartender and people waited over 30 minutes for a drink so they went to Green Mill instead to get drinks and come back.
When we signed our contract we were told that they would have a curtain up to prevent wedding crashers from coming in. Yeah didn’t happen. We had wedding crashers and they even caused a fight and made the bartender cry.
The linens were dirty and wrinkled. When they moved the arch from outside inside after it was decorated they had no regard and it almost fell apart we had to literally yell at the guys to slow down.
We asked for them to make sure the sidewalk was cleared from goose and duck poop MULTIPLE TIMES and it wasn’t. I had to walk down with my dress and train full of bird poop.
We paid over $8,000 to have our wedding there and we did not get what was promised.
Don’t waste your time or money here. It was a good night all in all but definitely not worth the money we paid.
At least the food was good.
The Hampton Inn was a beautiful place to have our wedding reception. Right by the lake, a beautiful building to take pictures by, and incredible food/drinks for our guests. I couldn't say enough good things about the staff at the Hampton who helped make our day so special.
Had my wedding ceremony on the lawn/beach and the reception inside. The venue is very pretty and convenient for guests. The staff was great! Made sure we had what we needed and everything was how we wanted. Food was AMAZING!!
Angie the coordinator was great to work with. Made sure everything was in order on their end and help the day go off perfect. I highly recommend using the Hampton Inn, South Shore Conference Center.
We had our reception at the Southshore conference center in Bemidji. The staff of the Hampton Inn was so helpful in preparing for the day. The best part was that I didn't have to think about whether or not things were getting done...the staff was very organized which allowed us to really enjoy the evening and not worry about details. The view from the rooms is incredible as well. We found that it was a convenient location for guests as well as they could stay at the Hampton Inn.
I had the best initial feeling about using the South Shore Conference Center. It is located right on Lake Bemidji and with the windows open you get a full view of the lake! There is a small beach outside, perfect for pictures. The staff was amazing and helped make for an amazing night. We got tons of comments about the buffet: the awesome prime rib and chicken Minnesota.
