If it weren't were David, our wedding wouldn't have come together as perfectly as it did! Katie and Donald were a huge help, too organizing all our vendors, decor, etc. The three of them together are a fantastic team! On my wedding day I asked David if he could bring super glue to me when I saw him in a few hours (a part of my clutch was falling off...totally not a crisis) and next thing you know, someone appeared at my hotel room door with super glue! Unreal service during my wedding weekend! Highly, highly recommend!

From the moment we spoke to David, Donald and Katie of Handy & Dallaire, we clicked and we knew they could not only plan the wedding of our dreams, but that they would make the process as fun and stress-free as possible. They were total pros. They had amazing taste, great suggestions, and were very mindful of our budget. When Hurricane Ida threatened to get in the way of us having a wedding outdoors, they quietly researched back-up venues for us. We ultimately wound up having to switch venues 24 hours before our wedding due to the weather. Needless to say we were less than thrilled and were worried the vision we had been working towards for months and months wouldn’t come to life, but David and Donald turned our back up venue into a dream and handled the situation with such grace and professionalism. Most of our wedding guests could not believe that the wedding we ended up having was our “back-up/contingency” plan. We are forever grateful to David, Donald, Katie for planning our perfectly imperfect wedding and to have come away with friends in the process!

David, Donald, and Katie just planned our 200+ person, black tie wedding at the Boston Public Library, as well as our rehearsal dinner, welcome reception, and farewell brunch. It’s impossible to say enough about them! They have an incredible sense of style and design; they listened to us, and they helped us be realistic while achieving the look we wanted. The wedding looked incredible – our guests couldn’t stop talking about it! They also did an amazing job of executing the wedding and the events of the wedding weekend. They helped us retain our venue and the vast majority of our vendors for our new date, and they helped us get through the extra year of waiting. They took such good care of us. Handy and Dallaire were incredible to work with. We hired them for our daughter's wedding with a five week lead time after cancelling twice in other locations due to Covid. They really stepped up for us, taking all the brides ideas and making her day so incredibly special and beautiful! It was amazing!

As MOB and FOB we cannot say enough about the professionalism and attention to detail shown by David, Donald and Katie in the planning of our daughters wedding. From the moment we met for our initial meeting with David the whole experience was fun. The words "no" or "it can't be done" are not in his vocabulary. While you will see many reviews are for Nantucket weddings, our wedding was in Boston and the whole weekend was flawless. All the details of the weekend including managing many of the vendors was handled by the team. We as parents of the bride were able to enjoy every minute of the weekend and not be concerned that something would fall through the cracks. We are thrilled they were able to work with us in the planning and recommend them highly.

The BEST!! If you have a wedding, especially on Nantucket, you have to use DMH. David, Donald, and Katie executed our tented black tie wedding flawlessly. They are the ultimate professionals. They provided feedback where needed while creating a spectacular event that fit our exact vision. My husband and I work very demanding jobs, so wedding planning with DMH often consisted of random, piecemeal feedback in large bursts from us to DMH. We were very specific with some details and extremely vague with others, and they nailed it. They were able to take everything (even if mentioned once in passing) and create our perfect wedding, there wasn’t a single thing we would’ve changed. Shoutout to Katie who saved me on multiple occasions with last minute appointments that were fully booked on island! Could not have had a better experience in wedding planning and execution. Handy and Dallaire! Where do I even start. When I was sure my wedding would be swept away by Hurricane Dorian. They assured me and revised the plans to accommodate what I had envisioned for 14 months. They really gave me a relaxed planning process, always got back to me in a punctual manner, paid attention to details, followed through with any and all requests and made me feel like royalty. My family is indebted to them for the amount of work their team puts in to make our dreams come true.

We worked with Handy and Dallaire Events for approximately two years to plan our Nantucket wedding at the First Congregational Church and Galley Beach. From the start they were so helpful in providing vendor recommendations, securing our first picks, and helping us create a vision for our special day. Their guidance was instrumental during the planning process. It would have been impossible to plan a Nantucket wedding from NYC on our own. Throughout the process people continuous asked if planning had been stressful and our answer was never yes because we had the best team supporting us to help make our dreams a reality. Donald, David, and Katie truly went above and beyond in the last few days leading up to our wedding weekend. We were married the weekend Hurricane Dorian was hitting the island with 80+ mph winds forecasted. They seamless arranged a plan a,b, and c to ensure we would have a successful event. Moreover, they worked with each of our vendors arranging for them to arrive a day early so we would not be without anyone. I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been for them, but they never once let us see them sweat. They were so positive during a difficult time, and it made us all feel so much better. The end result was even more beautiful than we could have imagined and we cannot thank them enough for everything they did to make it such a success.

On June 8, 2019, I was married on Nantucket Island and experienced what it truly feels like for dreams to come true, thanks to this incredible team who knows how to make magic happen. We worked with Handy and Dallaire Events for just over a year, planning our four day wedding celebration. Their attention to detail and unwavering passion and excitement about what they do translated to each and every element of our big day. Over the course of the year when anyone had presented me with the question “is wedding planning stressful? I bet you can’t wait until its over,” my answers would immediately be NO and NO! David, Donald and Katie were beyond on top of every piece of our planning, always maintaining a steady timeline, answering every email and call (quite literally within minutes most times) and truly making the entire process SO beyond positive and enjoyable (so much so that I really miss working with them everyday)! Throughout the planning process, I was always so impressed with the number of strong relationships that they have with the best vendors not only on Nantucket, but all over New England, not to mention their plethora of knowledge on every design element. When we first sat down to describe how we envisioned our wedding, we basically described a make believe Pinterest board. We wanted to transform a historic Nantucket structure into a 1920’s black tie, Great Gatsby-eqsue supper club, with champagne towers, grapes overflowing from silver urns, metallic confetti plunging from the wooden trellis ceiling and mini espresso martinis served on silver platters. Did they make everything happen AND MORE… YES, YES and YES!!! It is so important at your own wedding, or any event for that matter, to be present and not think about the logistics. This team made that happen for us. They were by our sides throughout the entire weekend, supporting us, our families, our wedding party and our guests in any and every way possible, I did not for one second worry (or think) about any detail. I am so happy and grateful to have gotten the opportunity to work with them and would strongly advise anyone planning a wedding or any event for that matter, to choose Handy and Dallaire. They Know How to Make a Dream Come True​ Our daughter and son-in-law were married on the beautiful island of Nantucket, with 5 days of celebratory events! We knew that there was only one group who would execute (all of) this tall ticket item to perfection and we were right! We worked with David, Donald & Katie for almost a year, pouring over details and requests from afar. Their vendor referrals were spot on; we had the best because we worked with the best. Our requests were sometimes unusual and most definitely detailed beyond the ordinary...yet they always found a way. We asked and the answer was ALWAYS "yes, we can make that happen". The communication was unparalleled. The immediate response time was unparalleled. Each one of them made the days leading up to the wedding FUN and EXCITING, making us feel that we were their top priority. We had all their cell phones and were told to call at any time. Each of them has a talent. Each of them performs their talent with perfection. When I walked into the reception, I gasped. It was BEYOND our wildest dreams...We had 200 guests for a black-tie wedding. All 200 guests were invited to the rehearsal Welcome Party at the Galley, to the afterparty at Cru and to our home for brunch. They were there every step of the way every single day.....It was seamless, smooth and went off without a hitch....all three wedding planners smiling along the way. This team is on top of their game! David, Donald and Katie were the absolute dream team to work with for our beach wedding in Nantucket! We knew the day was going to be beautiful because of their careful planning and attention to detail, but what we couldn’t have known was how they would jump in to make sure everything still went flawlessly despite the CRAZY storm that passed through on the big day and dashed our plans A and B for an outdoor ceremony on the beach. You can imagine a surprise storm being every bride’s worst nightmare (it wasn’t even on the weather radar until about an hour before the ceremony was supposed to take place!), but when we had to make the decision to move the ceremony inside, I felt SO prepared and calm. I knew our amazing HandyDallaire team would make sure everything was still breathtaking. They whisked me away to wait for the indoor ceremony, and immediately got to work with the rest of the venue staff, running around saving chairs and flowers from the rain, and setting up the most beautiful and intimate ceremony in the hotel, all while making sure our guests were happy and up to date on the change of plans. And I didn’t have to worry about a single thing! From that moment on, they made sure the rest of the night went FLAWLESSLY, and we were able to enjoy the best day of our lives to the fullest. I can’t tell you how many of our family and friends commented that it was the most beautiful and well-planned wedding they’ve ever been to. We are so happy with our wedding and hope to come back to the island and celebrate many anniversaries and more with HandyDallaire. They were easy to work with, have a great eye for design, and strong relationships with all the best vendors on the island. OMG – As FOB and MOB, don’t even know where to begin. If you are planning a wedding on Nantucket and are considering whether to use a wedding planner or not. The answer is simply yes and the event planner must be Handy & Dallaire Events. They handled every little detail with a professionalism rarely seen today and they do so in the background to make sure the wedding is perfect for the bride and her family. This includes helping with dinner reservations, package pickup and drop off and re arranging the beach planned ceremony within minutes during a sea squall hailstorm. As horrible as that sounds the bride loved her ceremony and wouldn’t have it any other way. This is a gigantic testament to the Handy & Dallaire team. On a scale of 1 to 10, we would rank them as a 15!!!

Our son and daughter in law were married in Nantucket and Handy & Dallaire Events was an exceptional team to work with! Not a single detail was overlooked by the team. Planning with them long distance was a breeze, we had conference calls and active email chains. We got married in Nantucket and Would HIGHLY recommend Handy and Dallaire to anyone starting to plan their wedding, particularly if your OCD and a stress ball like myself. Donald David and Katie are all part of the team and they all work together and so efficiently. Whenever I sent one of my many many emails I was always assured that I would get a response back soon answering all of my questions. They listen to what I wanted and what I didn’t want and help make it work. As our wedding was in Nantucket, they have a lot of experience with the island and that made things a lot a lot easier. Not only were they efficient and responsive but they’re just also very pleasant people to work with, which I think is really important when planning your wedding. Our wedding weekend was perfect and if there was anything that went wrong, I had no idea about it – to me and all my guests it was just the perfect weekend and I know a large part of that was because of the Handy and Dallaire team.

In September 2017 I was a bridesmaid in a wedding planned by David and Donald and I can’t say enough how expertly planned the wedding was, but more so, how attentive and professional they both are. The entire weekend was perfectly planned as every detail and request was met from the moment the wedding party stepped onto the island. David and Donald were at our disposal the entire weekend and if any issue came up they were the first people to step in and quickly found a resolution. Every detail of the ceremony and reception was simply incredible. It was the most beautiful wedding and I know it was all in part because of the endless conversations and meetings that David and Donald had with the couple and their perfect execution of each event over the weekend. The first time I met David and Donald was days before the wedding but within hours I felt as if I had known them for years and I knew we were in the best hands possible. I know my friends are forever grateful for everything these two did for their wedding and we have not stopped talking about that day since, and it was all thanks to the incredible work from David and Donald.

For me personally, when planning something so far in advance, I either get everything done as soon as possible, or I procrastinate to the last possible minute. When planning a wedding weekend, especially a destination wedding, neither is an option. After working with David, Donald and Katie for a year, I learned how much of a strategic process it actually is. There are a lot of moving parts. Turning a bride's vision into a reality not only requires creativity, but also organization, communication, understanding, timely execution, relationship management and patience. From the initial phone call to the day after good-byes, they exceeded expectations in every single area. There are so many examples of the team going above and beyond that I struggled with what to include in fear of not doing them justice (as well as keeping this review to an acceptable length.) I will say this, the weekend was magical. Every detail was perfection. The coordination and execution were flawless. The compliments are ongoing and I don't anticipate them stopping anytime soon. Like most bride-to-be's, I was constantly fielding questions regarding my stress level, planning, to-do lists, decision making etc. At every single stage, my answer was always the same, "Not really stressed actually. I'm in great shape, everything is taken care of." Removing the stress out of one of the most stressful events seems like an impossible task, but I say with confidence that is exactly what David M Handy Events does. My family and I kept calling them the Dream Team because that's exactly what they are.

David and Donald make things happen! Professional, fun, insightful and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to every little wedding detail! I was recently in my cousin’s (the bride) wedding on Nantucket this October and 2 hours before she was to walk down the isle, she was in tears from a knee injury. Donald and David made a quick call to an Orthopedic doctor on the island and worked their magic! She literally got in an Uber around 3:30, was back by 4:00! Feeling relief in her knee, she finished getting ready and was walking down the isle, in her shoes with a smile on her face, right on time! Every bride and groom needs a Donald and David!

David and Donald were extremely helpful during the planning phase and took time to get to know us and what our wants were for the event. Where they really shine, however, is in execution. On the day of they were All-Stars. Them being there provided a completely stress free environment for my spouse and I so that we could just enjoy the event and spend 100% of our time with family and friends. The setup of the space was beyond our vision for it. And they handled everything thrown their way with a smile and the utmost professionalism. I highly recommend them to anyone considering a planner for their event.

David's office space is fabulous, with samples of linens, china, silver, glassware, tables, chairs, printing, etc that allowed us to physically build our vision. His design is outstanding. There just aren't enough stars!! In the months and weeks leading up to our wedding, I lamented over all the details one would expect, but I never found myself a "crazed bride", every moment I questioned David and Donald not only solved but in the end made smatter, more fun and just plain prettier than I could have imagined. On the day of not ONE thing phased me not just because of the man I was marrying but because of the men that were taking care of everything! I knew I was in the best hands, every detail was perfect, the entire weekend seemed entirely effortless and the whole thing when off with out a hitch. Their artistry can not be matched, their presence was everything I could have asked for and their support spanned months of planning that I now miss. DMH graciously gives such care to who YOU are and what you want to represent as a couple which is invaluable. Again, if I could draw more stars into this review I would. DMH is truly the best ever.

First and foremost, I must start by saying that David and Donald are two of the nicest, most caring people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They know how important your event is to you and they take that very seriously and handle it with such care. And they excel at what they do beyond words! My fiancée and I had a two year engagement and are very detail oriented, so David helped to set us up with all the vendors that would fit our exact vision. We spent countless hours doing our table settings and then redoing them about 3 months out from the wedding. And they helped us to create the exact vision we wanted. And despite all the meetings and conversations, when I stepped into our reception I truly thought I was dreaming and I was overwhelmed with how perfect every single detail was. From helping with getting our rehearsal dinner menu perfect, to fixing a major technical malfunction that was a surprise for our parents and wedding party, to making our hotel suite look so amazing when we got back from our wedding day, there is not a single thing that Donald and David didn't make absolute perfection. Whenever there was a hiccup or problem that arose, David and Donald would fix it at a speed that I didn't even think was humanly possible. On the day of the wedding Donald took care of everything!! He has a manner about him that makes you instantly calm and on a wedding day, that is priceless attribute. I truly don't know what I would have done without David and Donald. Having Donald run the "show" aka the wedding, allowed me and my fiancée to be completely checked in to each other and not worrying about anything. Any bride would be lucky to have this team handle their day. The magic that they create is unlike anything I've ever seen in real life. Every time I see one of our wedding guests they tell me how unbelievable ever detail of our wedding was and it was thanks to Donald and David. I will be forever grateful for what they did for us and there will never be enough words to express how appreciative I am for them.

David Handy and team were a pleasure to work with - there is simply no one better. From start to finish they made the classically complex process of wedding planning an enjoyable experience. Their relationships are second to none on Nantucket and beyond.

David has an immense breadth of knowledge in conducting and perfecting a wedding. Our wedding went off without a hitch - never once during the days leading up to or on the BIG DAY, did we encounter a problem that was not immediately remedied. Any bumps in the road were smoothed out immediately and handled with little to no disturbance to the wedding party . He anticipated our needs and wants and executed them. He truly took on the burden in order for us to have one of the best evenings of our life.

From the moment we walked into our wedding we were amazed....My husband and I got married at the State Room in Boston about a year ago and David Handy was our Event Planner. David and his team created a spectacular evening. He helped us with all facets of our wedding from flowers in the church to Our monogram on the dance floor. Our wedding was an intimate affair for 40 people in a private residence. My husband and I wanted it to feel cozy, elegant and welcoming. David's design exceeded our expectations. From the stealth waitstaff (one per person) to the vehicles provided at the end of the evening (for those who chose to go home), no one was left wanting anything. David's design matched the intimacy of the home's decor, so nothing felt out of place or over the top. It was professional, responsive to our needs, with out of this world service. We already have David on our list of vendors for our holiday party scheduled for early December 2010.
