My husband and I procrastinated with choosing our wedding invitations for our July 2024 wedding. Mari came to our rescue and helped us create a beautiful, timeless wedding invitation and details cards. She was very accessible via email and text and understood that we had time and budget constraints. She very clearly understood my vision for the invitations and I’m so happy with how they came out. Mari was so kind and helpful throughout the entire process and has a great eye for detail. I cannot recommend her highly enough!
I would recommend Harpers Invitations to anyone planning a wedding! (or any event needing an invitation) My mom found out about the store and made an appointment. After my first meeting with Mari, I knew I didn’t need to look anywhere else. She is so helpful. After explaining what I thought I wanted, she gave me a bunch of different books to look through. Once I narrowed down my ideas, she would help guide me to what would look best. Everything turned out beautiful and better than I expected. I got my save the dates, invitations, programs, menu cards, cocktail napkins, hotel welcome bags, and place cards all through here. Mari pays attention to all of the little details to bring everything together. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Harpers!
Mari is wonderful, and don't let anyone ever say otherwise! She takes a personal interest in your vision and your dream, and makes it a gorgeous reality! She talks you through the process, and goes that extra mile EVERY SINGLE TIME! Need to get those straggler invitations out ASAP? She runs it to the post office herself, and even buys the stamps for them "just because". Ready to seal those heavy envelopes with a quick lick of your tongue? Not under Mari's watch!! She handed me a glue stick and said, "Take this! Don't even think of licking those envelopes!" LOL! My invitations were complimented by every recipient, who considered themselves fortunate for receiving such an elegant invite. And to top it all off, I decided at the last minute to get wood tags for my favor bags, but didn't know how to personalize them. Without a second's hesitation, she offers to write BY HAND (!) on every single one of those tags. Love love LOVE Mari, and her adorable little shop in Old Wethersfield! I am so grateful that fate directed me to her when I made that first step towards planning my wedding. NO ONLINE service can ever match this experience, nor can the product compare. Every bride deserves to have wonderful memories of sitting at a quaint little New England shop, picking out and planning her invitations and cards. You get what you pay for. And online invitations will always look and feel as "inexpensive" as you got them for!
Very unprofessional. If you don't mind dealing with that for an awesome product then Harper's is the place for you. But my recommendation to a friend would be to go elsewhere for not only better service but better prices. If I had to do it all over again I would have used weddingpaperdivas and gotten the SAME invitations.
Harper's was an absolute pleasure to work with. They are so thorough and pay such close attention to detail. We used them for invitations, thank you notes, menu cards, place cards and programs. Everything came out stunningly and perfectly coordinated. Harper's offers the perfect balance of professional advice and direction with the bride's personal tastes. We had no issues whatsoever! No misprints, no stains or smudges and NO DELAYS! Fabulous.
Harper's Invitations was fantastic to work with. From the moment we walked into Marie's shop, she was very much focused on getting us what we wanted for a great price. When we were finally able to make our decision, and it was difficult given her huge selection, she made the process simple and stress-free. Despite all the changes we made to the proofs, she happily handled whatever we threw her way. And when the first batch of invitations came and they weren't exactly to her liking, despite us not being able to determine anything wrong with them, she got us a new set that looked even better! I highly recommend her for all your paper needs.
So many of my friends have ordered their invitations online and I considered it myself but am so glad I chose to get them from Marie. She helped me find some really beautiful invitations that met my budget and made both my mom and me happy.
She also was indispensable as a consultant, helping with etiquette when it came to wording the invitations themselves as well as addressing the envelopes. It was also really nice to have a neutral opinion pointing out pros and cons of different styles and even talked us out of adding extras because she thought it would just take away from the delicate beauty of the ones we chose.
Another real advantage over internet companies is quality. The invitations we ordered were really great quality and Marie even makes a point to go through every component before we picked them up. She noticed some of the RSVPs got a little bent during packaging and rush ordered replacements for us.
Marie at Harper's was very friendly, easy going, and very knowledgable. The day we went in to look for our invitations, she was very busy, but dedicated time to us. She listened to what we were looking for and was able to show us a variety of different options. She was able to turn around our placecards quickly as we finalized our guests a week before the wedding. The only downside was our invitation cost $1.95 each to send out, because they had a ribbon that was knotted on the invites, which pushed it into a "parcel" category at the post office. Marie did tell us to check with the post office on the postage to make sure the $.65 wedding stamp would work before we put the postage on the envelopes. I would have expected her to give us a warning that the knot would/could push us into the parcel category and could be 3x as much postage. I think I still would have gone with our invitations, but it would have helped if we were told instead of the sticker shock at the post office.
