n. The grounds were well maintained and everything was very clean. The barn itself created a wonderful layout for all of our guests to mingle. People could stand outside or inside during cocktail hour and then once the reception got started the doors to the upper outside deck were opened. Our guests loved being able to socialize outside, especially with the great weather. Katie was outstanding and the most helpful Day of Coordinator! She was easy to talk to and I felt that she adapted to my vision. Katie was organized and filled in the gaps where I may have forgotten something. staff at Harvest View made our dream their goal. They were so professional and attentive. We never had to worry about hearing back from them or getting a response to any concerns. They were responsive to any email or text. Our coordinator Eve went above and beyond. She made the entire process stress free and truly enjoyable. She made it a point to handle everything, down to the smallest details, so we did not have to worry about anything on our wedding day. She made herself available to us at all hours and made sure every vision we had was perfect. We heard comments from our guests all night about how beautiful the venue was. organized. We got assigned a day of event coordinator who helped us SO much throughout the entire process. She developed a day of timeline, a list of all decorations needed/who was providing what, and helped reach out to all of our vendors to make sure everything went as planned (THANK YOU EVE!) The day of our wedding, the entire harvest view staff made sure that everything was flawless and even if something went wrong, they figured it out. My husbands pants ripped the first time he sat down and they took them and sewed them within minutes! We got endless comments on how amazing the venue was, from the elegant barn and beautiful pond to the greenest grass that anyone has seen. I used almost all of their recommended vendors and we couldn't have been happier. HIGHLY recommend to use Harvest View Barn as your wedding venue- you will have the wedding of your dreams!!!

the morning of the wedding to the gazebo overlooking the pond and acres of farmland to the stone walls and high ceilings that created a breathtaking upstairs reception area. This venue reminded us of both our homes and right in between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, it was perfect. With a place as gorgeous as this, it should be no surprise that the team at HVB takes incredible pride in their venue; however, there was a line crossed between proud and smug that did make us feel unwelcome in the months and days leading up to our wedding. We were very happy with the way our wedding day turned out, but we did have to fight quite a bit to ensure we got what we wanted after signing the contract. HVB requires a “Day of Coordinator,” an extra expense which was not highlighted during our tour; however, after we had signed the contract, we were pushed to hire their Day of Coordinator at an additional cost. My family and florist had planned to provide decorations and since we were on a budget, we opted to hire an outside vendor (who did a wonderful job) from a Bridal Show to truly only execute the wedding day. This decision clearly made them uneasy, and our feedback would be to include this service with the venue rental if having “outsiders” running the show gives reason to be nervous. Additional hourly charges for use of the guesthouse prior to 10am as well as additional insurance fees could have been communicated better as well. The last misperception came from being led to believe the upstairs reception area could double as the ceremony site should there be unexpected weather changes the day of the wedding. HVB continually nudged us the week of the wedding to have it inside but reluctantly let us have until 6pm the night prior to make a final call (after we had questioned the policy one month before). The insistence to move it inside continued until an hour before the ceremony (it was windy that day, but we had planned for our guests to be outside and frankly, was an extra stressor we didn’t need the morning of the wedding). Our outdoor ceremony was beautiful, and it was “us.” Reading through other reviews on HVB’s professionalism, it is a shame that we didn’t experience that same level of customer service. We are sure it is different with an unlimited budget or family planning the entire wedding, but we were the main points of contact. Despite receiving multiple reminder emails about scheduled appointments, I found it odd nobody was there to greet us for the rehearsal or welcome us when we arrived the day of. We did not want a cookie-cutter wedding and absolutely loved how it turned out: incredibly personal with our own pastor and family members providing the beautiful decorations as well as the ceremony music and DJ/MC services (they are professionals). HVB was not an inexpensive venue, so we unfortunately had expected the team to be a little more accommodating throughout the planning to ensure we as clients were happy with what we had.

Unfortunately it started raining an hour before our guests were to arrive, but their staff didn't hesitate to walk around in rain coats and escort guests from cars to the barn with umbrellas and also escorted the entire wedding party to the barn from the farm house. I highly recommend this venue! Beautiful photo opportunities!

day. Katie Wagner was our coordinator and we could not be more pleased with the way in which she managed both the prep and day of activities involved. She even gave us recommendations for other vendors (hair/makeup, DJ/photobooth, etc.) and did a fantastic job organizing all the special touches to our day (memory table, extra decorations, send off materials, etc.). I travel a lot for work and she was always so understanding working with my crazy schedule to hold meetings, coordinate over email, etc. The day of the wedding could not have gone more seamlessly. There is definitely a reason why Harvest View has made it onto the top wedding/reception venue list for the last few years. The team is very experienced, kind, and understanding. We received wonderful comments by our guests and photographer that this is the best barn venue they had ever been too. The team even did a fabulous job helping our bridal party feel comfortable despite rain most of the day. Thanks again to Harvest View Barn. Our wedding day is one we will never forget!

Every single person we ever dealt with was helpful and friendly and the day itself couldn't have been more perfect. The venue alone is gorgeous and doesn't need a ton of added decor to pull it together. It is big enough for almost 300 guests and with our 175 guests, I loved that there was more than enough room as compared to most other barn venues that feel squished with that many people. The large house for the bridal party to get ready in is also a huge bonus! We had 16 in our bridal party, plus the two of us and parents and other family members and had more than enough room. Alyssa Kurtz was our day-of-coordinator and I could not have asked for a better one. She was incredible and helped with so much. If you're looking for a rustic but up-scale barn venue with the best team behind it, look no further. If I could re-do our day all over again, I wouldn't change a thing! Thank you Harvest View!

edding day. Katie was so patient in answering all of my questions and gave suggestions along the way from her years of experience. She made the wedding day flow so smoothly- it really allowed my husband and I to enjoy the day without worrying about all of the details! Harvest View Barn has a beautiful farmhouse that you use to get ready in which was wonderful! However, we had a dispute with the venue over the status of this space. We were told by the wedding coordinator assistant at the end of the night that the house was in perfect condition right before we left for the evening. However, we were then contacted a week later by the venue telling us the cleaning staff reported both bathrooms were left with 'messes' in the shower and tubs. It turned into a 'he said, she said' situation with the owners which was very frustrating as we were told the house looked great before we left. My advice would be to walk through the house WITH a staff member before you leave the premise and make sure they lock the house afterwards. Also, HVB should take photos of any 'issues' they see and NOT wait a week before reporting said issues to the bride/groom. This issue did not take away from my recommendation of this venue to others, but it was something I want others to be aware of if they move forward with HVB.

rt 20+ minute drive for our guests. No hotels around the area offer shuttle to the venue, but Harvest View offers a list of transportation/bus vendors that we did use. We love that this venue gave us the authentic farm feel we were after without having to sacrifice on amenities like air conditioning, spacious areas for cocktail hour and reception, and a modern restoration that sets it apart from most farm weddings. With that, my husband and I did not want a traditional rustic wedding but more of a romantic-feel with hanging greenery and flowers, and this space was perfect for that! We ended up having 190 guests, and they fit perfectly in the cocktail hour and reception spaces. Many people enjoyed the indoor/outdoor feel of cocktail hour and explored the grounds/pond area. The reception space also has a loft that we used for our photo booth. Guests loved going up to the loft to overlook the dance floor and take pictures. One of the other amenities that we found very useful was the farmhouse. We paid extra to get into the farmhouse early at 8:30am, however normal access time is at 10:00am. The “bride” portion of the house had plenty of space for myself, 6 bridesmaids, and 2 moms to get ready in. It was also helpful to have all of the groomsman get ready in the same house as well. Besides the venue itself, the owners are very easy to work with, and had helpful suggestions and advice throughout our several meetings. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone getting married in the Hershey/Lancaster area.

The house to get ready in was also wonderful and had separate areas for both the groomsmen and the bridesmaids to get ready in. We received so many compliments about the beauty of the venue! Also, Shirley at Harvest View Barn was a joy to work with! The only thing I wished we would have done was use her as our day of coordinator. Harvest View's prices for the day of coordinating were higher than we wanted to spend, but in the end I think that would have been worth it! I definitely recommend Harvest View Barn to any bride/groom!

It was convenient to utilize their online system to book appointments for our first look at the property all the way through our final meeting with our wedding coordinator just prior to the big day. We loved having access to the farmhouse on the day of our wedding. It is unique to find a location that has adequate space for a large bridal party on both sides. We also loved Harvest View because there was a unique space for the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and the reception, leaving our guests surprised at each new environment they were invited in to. We were fortunate that on our wedding day, the weather was beautiful but I also felt comfortable with our rain day plan and would not have been disappointed if we were unable to have the wedding outside. We could not have been happier with our decision and will treasure Harvest View Barn for years to come.

the perfect match in working with the Hershey family as well as introducing some new ideas we had in mind. This is one of four barns that offers central air (that we researched) in PA. It fit all of our family and friends--our meal was served and we danced the night away with a live Polka/rock band. My only wish is that we could have stayed until 11PM. The 10PM end of the night didn't leave time for a bouquet toss, but most places in PA have this rule due to alcohol laws (depending on when it all begins). We really loved it here--it's worth every penny. Our guests were blown away with the landscape. We recommend using a bus company to guests to get there and at the end of the night because of the country roads surrounding the barn.

The house on the premises to get ready in on the day-of is wonderful, and includes a kitchen and separated sides of the house for the men and women. The whole property is filled with beautiful photo opportunities, and our guests loved the pond, gazebo, and spacious barn + outdoor areas to walk, drink, eat, dance, and socialize in! We couldn't have asked for a better venue. Our only real issue was that the "rules" of the venue seemed to change several times from the time we signed our contract to the day of our wedding, and it made planning and coordinating with outside vendors somewhat complicated. Other than that, we would highly recommend Harvest View to anyone (and already have)!

the multiple levels of the barn are romantic and rustic, but also elegant. Having an actual space for in indoor ceremony in case of rain was very important to us, and the lower level of the barn is a perfect fit for any indoor ceremony. Also having the entire house as a bridal suite for the girls/guys for the day-of was wonderful. We were able to relax and enjoy our day with ample space. It took the stress out and made the entire process wonderful. And Shirley and her staff are absolutely fantastic. They are warm and welcoming and on the ball! Unfortunately, I met a number of folks through the planning process who were unprofessional or unorganized, but you WILL NOT have that issue at Harvest View. They are extremely professional and organized, they have every detail covered and they go above and beyond to make your day special. We had decided to have our ceremony inside due to potential rain, and 45 minutes before the ceremony it was clear skies and no calls for rain, so the staff was able to move everything outside and reset the downstairs for cocktail hour! It could not have made me happier and I could not express how much it meant to me. I highly recommend Harvest View to anyone looking for a romantic and rustic atmosphere, with charm and elegance!

aff at Harvest View was so flexible and accommodating as we had to move the ceremony from outdoors to indoors the morning of our wedding. They then took charge and flipped the space from the ceremony setup to the reception setup flawlessly and didn't require anything from our bridal party/family as they handled it all taking stress off our shoulders. On the day of, tables and the correct number or chairs and highchairs were placed at each table as planned and everything was where it was supposed to be. With the help of the day-of coordinators at HVB I didn't have to worry about a thing! It was so elegant; the wood, stone and chandelier lighting set the mood, I barely decorated! The venue is stunning and literally will take your breath away, we are 100% happy with the staff and the whole venue; we highly recommend this place if you are looking for a barn wedding. We loved it!!

d I first put our deposit down at Harvest View before the wedding venue had its first wedding, with 15 months of waiting before our wedding day. From about 3 weeks out from our wedding, it felt like a run-around of who we needed to talk to. It seemed as though I needed to contact Shirley, Crystal, and Mark because I was not sure who was in charge of decisions. There were some original liberties from when we had put our deposit down that had changed when we reached pre-wedding prep. I understand that as a venue holds weddings, you learn what you are comfortable allowing in your facility. However, it is frustrating to be told one thing and have it be later rescinded. We met with Shirley about 2 weeks before the wedding. Not only did we continue to hear how things were no longer allowed, but we were made to feel belittled for proposing these requests. We live about 30 minutes away from the facility and had to fight to bring any of our materials earlier than the morning of. Mind you, they have a huge garage with the intended purpose of housing wedding materials. I personally had to load and unload all of the materials, but would expect with how expensive this property was, this should not have been a challenge. The most frustrating thing was that there is a pre-wedding facility where the men and women prep next to the barn. While the house is wonderful, we left our items inside the barn during the wedding. In the midst of our wedding (6pm) we were told FOR THE FIRST TIME that our belongings needed to be out of the house immediately so it could be cleaned for the next wedding. This was absolutely NEVER mentioned to us. The bridal party and parents had to leave IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WEDDING to empty the house so we were not penalized. If we pay that much use for the location, you would expect you get to use the facilities for the duration. Our wedding was finished by 10pm with a strict penalty if cleanup was not completed by 11. My new wife and I had to help with the clean-up ourselves as guests were leaving for the after party. The Harvest View staff were minimally helpful during this time, and several of our items were broken/misplaced during the rush to pack up. While we did not use a moving crew, we did use one of their "required" vendors for the evening for alcohol. The beer distributer did not pick up the night of the wedding, but instead did the next morning. Even though Harvest View had contracted terms with this vendor that we were following, we were charged because their distributer did not show up before 11pm. The news of this came 5 days after our wedding, while on our honeymoon, only for me to have to personally call (and leave a voicemail) for Shirley to deal with a situation which I had no responsibility in coordinating. After much unnecessary disagreements, we were finally refunded. My closing thoughts are not meant to be traditional online slander. I usually do not comment/review but we had such trouble during this experience, I would like all to be aware before booking. Our wedding was beautiful, but I advise getting all terms from this venue in print while planning.

h. The grounds are just beautiful capturing the farm lands of Pennsylvania. Our ceremony was downstairs by the fireplace creating an intimate and homey space. We then went right to the reception which was just upstairs, a gorgeously romantic space for beautiful celebration, and plenty of room for dancing, cocktails, enjoying time with people, and a classy dinner with high ceilings and candle chandeliers. The renovated farmhouse that is right next to the barn was one of my favorite parts of having this venue! From the bridal suites for both parties to get ready, a kitchen to enjoy lunch and cocktails, and a home to just relax and be together before the wedding, it made it such a special time to prepare for the perfect and special night that was ahead. IT WAS PERFECT FOR OUR WEDDING!

It is also so special to work with a family who has owned the property for generations and takes such pride in what they are doing. Our wedding day was 2 days ago and it rained the entire day, so that the outdoor ceremony was not an option, but countless guests told us that they would never have known the indoor option was our plan B. I actually believe that the indoor option made our wedding ceremony so romantic and intimate and am grateful for not being given the choice. Everyone was amazed by the beauty of the venue and I never imagined my day would be so beautiful. A huge thank you to Shirley, the Hershey family, and the rest of the Harvest View staff for making our day so perfect!

(aside) we had 200 people at our wedding, they say they can accomodate 250 but I wouldn't recommend it. 6. They have a very nice setup/area for caterers. 7. They give you access to a beautiful house to get ready in the day of your wedding, although they do make you clear out all of your stuff before the reception starts (7:30pm they say), which is mildly annoying but understandable. 8. They had a handicapped elevator but it wasn't working on the day of our wedding, my dad had to carry my grandpa into the barn, which was less than ideal. We recommend them! Enjoy.

Harvest View has been meticulously planned to provide just that. The manicured grounds, the beautiful gazebo and fountain in the pond, the gorgeous original stone walls in the barn, the lighting effects, the well-planned kitchen area - no detail has been overlooked! You can make it as rustic or as elegant as you like. We were able to add those special touches that made our daughter's special day truly her own. Photographic opportunities are everywhere! There is an entire house for the wedding party to get ready in, complete with full kitchen and separate entrances, dressing rooms and bathrooms for the girls and guys so no one sees anyone before that "first look". You have to see it to believe it! We got SO MANY compliments on our choice of venue from the wedding party, our guests and our vendors! And I cannot say enough about how wonderful Shirley, Jim and Crystal were to work with! Their experience and expertise really helped in the planning stages, the rehearsal and especially on the day of the wedding. They were there with us every step of the way, from setting up in the morning to packing up at the end of the night. Their kindness to us helped to take away the stress that a wedding can so often entail! All in all, Harvest View Barn was the perfect choice for us! favor and didn't rain so we were able to have our ceremony on the lawn like we wanted. The farm house was perfect for both parties to get ready in. It was a relaxed setting for this. Guests thought the venue was so beautiful and kept asking how we found this place. The only thing we would have negative to say was with the owner Shirley. Nice lady, yet very forgetful and didn't seem to remember anything we've told her since booking. We had to repeat ourselves so many times with information we've already told her or went over with her in great detail multiple times. I know this is a newer venue and probably getting kinks out of a lot of things, but sometimes we felt frustrated with having to repeat ourselves and with all her questions. We loved our wedding and wouldn't change anything for the world! Thanks harvest view!

The setting is beautiful for pictures (inside and out) and has the added bonus of the lovely swans swimming in the pond! We had a memorable evening in a very unique and beautiful barn.

est View really make you feel like the venue and farm is your home - from the beautiful and spacious bridal suite in the Hershey's home, to the friendliness you encounter every time you meet or speak to them. The grounds make for amazing photos and the impeccably restored barn is absolutely breathtaking. Our outside wedding was idyllic and the cocktail hour in the lower part of the barn worked perfectly. There was plenty of comfortable seating for our plated dinner upstairs in the barn for our 180 guests. We feel like the luckiest couple to be one of the first to get married at Harvest View - thank you!

We also appreciated the help from the team at the Harvest View Barn, they were eager to help and answer questions. Three areas we would encourage people to be mindful of: bring a good sound system, even though the barn can hold 295, we felt like our wedding guests of 283 were pretty snug and there were some obstructive views from the balconies. Overall, we'd recommend this to anyone looking to have a beautiful wedding or reception.
