Hayley Cakes and Cookies

I actually discovered Hayley Cakes on Instagram a few years ago, and was instantly drawn to their adorable custom cookies. Then, when I had a chance to actually eat them, I was blown away by how delicious the cookies were (usually cute cookies don't actually taste good). When it was time to get married, I knew I wanted to see if the cakes were as good as the cookies. Spoiler alert: they were amazing. The tasting process is so fun, and the Hayley Cakes team does a great job walking you through the process and helping you pair flavors together to create the perfect combination. Not to mention, Hayley Cakes was significantly more affordable than all of the other vendors we tried, and the quality of their work was just as good. We ordered a 3-tier cake for about 150 guests and it was great. I would absolutely recommend the company to anyone looking for an affordable, delicious wedding cake (or cookies).

I ordered my cake and custom sugar cookies from Hayley and they were amazing! The bakery easy to work with and timely. The products looked incredible and tasted even better. I had guests talking to me the next day about how much they truly enjoyed the cake!

We loved our cake and cupcakes from Hayley Cakes! Our tasting experience was fantastic, and so helpful in deciding what kind of flavors we wanted for our cake. Everything was especially delicious, and extremely reasonably priced. We definitely were munching on some leftovers late after the wedding as well as the next morning.

I’m not surprised at all that all the negative reviews on google are about the customer service. It is clear that Hayley is very talented design wise, but could use a LOT of work on how she treats people. We stopped when visiting family because I loved the cookies on insta. Everyone was very rude and bothered by having to help customers. Since I have watched her decline on social media. Snapping at anyone who disagrees with her or doesn’t like her work, telling people they don’t matter. It’s even clear if you look through all the responses here on reviews. She does not take accountability or apologize when a mistake is made, she blames the customer and gets snappy and snotty at them. I’ve truly never seen such unprofessional responses, which I’m sure I will get as well. If your order is ruined, she will somehow make it your fault. Don’t risk that on your special day. I can no longer support someone who treats others so poorly. Especially customers. Good luck in your endeavors; I hope you can work a little more on your people skills so your talent doesn’t go to waste.

Holy cupcakes! Seriously. We chose the chocolate with chocolate and red velvet with cream cheese frosting for mini cupcakes at our wedding. They were literally the BEST cupcakes we have ever had. Ever! We highly recommend you use them for your cake or cupcakes. They were also super accommodating and the staff were extremely friendly! Super happy we chose them for our big day.

I followed.... maybe stalked- Hayley’s Instagram for over a year and knew I just had to make a visit to see the shop. Realizing my now husband wasn’t the biggest fan of cake, and seeing a look of pure joy on his face when trying one of her snickerdoodles I knew we had to do cookies for our wedding. Everyone LOVED it. When we picked them up they were fresh out of the oven and in large pizza style boxes. Can you say heaven?! We ordered chocolate chip, sugardoodle, and snickerdoodle. Truly, they are all amazing. I got myself a couple iced cookies since I knew they were fantastic from our trip up a few months before. All of their designs are adorable and the quality of the cookies are amazing. I had some people walking out with multiple. The fact that our guests could enjoy their sweet treat at the wedding, or take it to go was so convenient and different to most. Something a lot of people had not thought of and said they thought was so smart. We ordered extra and even a week later we pop them in the microwave and they are just as good as ever. I am so glad we chose to get cookies from this shop and were able to support a family run, local Austin business. We are from San Antonio but got so lucky seeing as this shop was 15 minutes from our Lake Travis venue. I truly don’t regret my choice at all. I got some delicious cookies that we and everyone else loved, and it was so much easier on us. Blake says he wants to make a trip up every two weeks just for more cookies!!!! I can’t say that I said no to his idea.... ;)

AMAZING! I sent pictures of what I wanted and literally they were perfect, I seriously couldn't be happier. Everyone loved the cookies and the taste was incredible. I requested an arrow, a cookie with our last name, a pine tree (that we both have tattooed) and to somehow get something with my fiancés wild land fire uniform, and did they deliver on what I wanted! The tree looked exactly like our tattoo and the uniform couldn't have been more perfect. I've had a million comments about the cookies and have told everyone where they came from. They were a huge hit! I will be recommending to everyone!

To say I'm disappointed is the understatement of the year. I chose to use Hayley Cakes because it's a local shop and I live in River Place. I'm getting married and I wanted to ask my bridesmaids in a fun and creative way. I found some cookies online that were perfect and I fell in love with them. I have seen the work that Hayley Cakes does on Instagram and knew they'd be able to execute my idea plus I'd be helping a local business. I submitted a photo of my cookies that followed up with a phone call to Mason explaining my wedding was in Colorado and if the artist wanted to change some of the details (like adding mountains or being creative with the colors or flowers I was happy to let them do their thing!) I was not asking for an exact replica but I was asking for the attention to detail and precision that was used in creating the original design. I thought we were all on the same page. I show up at the shop on June 16th ready to go to my wedding shower and I almost burst into tears. I know cookies shouldn't make you cry but I was so excited to ask my bridesmaids to stand by my side and I was honestly embarrassed by the look of these cookies. They were all wrong. They omit every detail that made me fall in love with them in the first place. All of the gorgeous detailing was left off. I wanted to speak to a manager but I was left with the 16 year old at the counter. I showed her what they were supposed to look like and she too was shocked at what I received. She told me there was no one to help but they'd call me on Monday. I told her I didn't even want to take the cookies and that I would rather leave them for someone to redo. She went into the back and they told her that they had to omit the details because of the shape of the cookie. If that was truly the case all they had to do was call me and I would have said make the cookie whichever shape you would like (perhaps a big rectangle) to account for the detail. I am a detail freak. I am almost positive Hayley did not make these cookies. I see her work online and her handwriting is neither sloppy nor inconsistent. To say I cried over cookies is now a statement that rings true. Mason called me this morning and was hostile from the moment I answered the phone. I'm starting to think he made these disastrous cookies himself because he was so personally offended at my dislike for them. He told me that I said the artist had creative freedom (which I most definitely did!) but what this artist chose to do was take the lazy path. Mason and I were not settling on a resolution. So, my fiancé gets upset to see me upset and starts talking to Mason. He said in a sentence, "look man, you've got to see that the cookies look like shit in comparison to what she asked for. She was so upset about these cookies." And Mason flies off the handle in rage that Max "used profanity" Max said he was sorry for cursing but reassured him he was not cussing AT mason, but purely using the word to describe an objects appearance. Mason couldn't get over it and was YELLING at this point and not coming back down to earth. Yes, we were upset about the cookies but we are reasonable people. Give us our money back. These cookies are awful. Thank you for being a nice business and perhaps we will try again in the future and not post a review airing out your dirty laundry.
