We hired Janelle back in February of 2021 for our September 2022 wedding as our day of coordinator. In March of 2022, I found out via social media that she had 2 other weddings booked for the same day as ours (these weddings were both booked after ours). This made me concerned because how was she supposed to give our big day the attention it deserved when she had 2 other weddings to tend to as well. When I contacted her with my concerns she became unresponsive. I was texting her for two weeks trying to schedule a call with her. She would take days to respond and whenever she did respond she would say she couldn't schedule a call/was too busy but would not provide me with a day/time that worked better for her. After two weeks of going back and forth trying to get her on the phone to express my concerns, I gave up and told her that this wasn't going to work, that I no longer could trust her. Once I expressed these concerns via text, Janelle told me that her "process had changed" and that she would have someone there on on our wedding day but it might not be her. When we hired Janelle, we were told that it was her and her assistant (her mom) that would be handling our event. This "change in her process" is not what was on our contract. She never told us this new information or asked us if this was okay. After all of this, my fiance and I decided that Janelle was bringing us more stress than not having a day of coordinator so we emailed her a formal request for a refund. As we had already paid her $825 (a $500 deposit and one additional payment) and received no services. Janelle never responded to this email or any emails after that. We have tried to reach out to Janelle numerous times and have not gotten any response. It is very unfortunate that we are not the only couple she has done this too. She is taking advantage of brides and scamming people.

Janelle was amazing to work with, we were so happy to have her help us on our big day! Our coordinator had to back out last minute and before I had even spoken to Janelle she had another one ready to go. Would highly recommend!

I recommend Janelle at Hazel & Gray for day-of coordination services. Without her help at the rehearsal and wedding day, there would have been significant burden on our families that we are so thrilled we were able to avoid. Janelle made sure that all the decor was as it needed to be, all the vendors knew what they needed to do and where to be throughout wedding day, she kept the wedding party and vendors moving through the timeline, and even went and picked up the pizza directly when the pizza place called night of that they didn't have a delivery driver! We did contract Janelle for full planning services, and my advice for those Type-A brides out there is that day-of coordination services would more than suffice. I do feel like communication and follow-up was challenging in the months prior to the wedding, but I also partially attribute this to being a "doer" myself and wanting to get things done directly and rapidly. Having Janelle there the weekend of the wedding was critical to the success of the event and we are so happy we had her support so that my husband and I, our families, and our friends could truly enjoy the day.

If you're looking for a wedding planner, Hazel & Gray is the way to go! Janelle is absolutely amazing! I honestly could not have survived my wedding day without her. The first time we chatted, I talked through my "wedding vision." She put together a mood board based on our conversation and knocked it out of the park. I had Janelle focus more on the design aspect of the wedding and she did an amazing job. I am so thankful she was part of my special day. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Hazel & Gray!

Words cannot express how grateful I am for Janelle and everything her and her mother Robbi did to provide such a seamless day for my wedding! I hired them as my day of wedding coordinators and I truly do not know what I would've done without them. They were so much more than just help on the day of. She helped me with all my random questions throughout the process, recommended vendors, and always gave me her honest opinion. Janelle will have your back on your wedding day!! She was constantly checking in with not only me, but all my vendors and could read any situation at hand and resolve it instantly. I didn't know of a single hiccup on my wedding day all thanks to Hazel & Gray. She was so friendly, approachable, experienced, attentive to detail, and made you feel so confident and stress-free for the most important day of your life. I would hire Janelle over and over again for any event, but especially on your wedding day, she will be your person to rely on and ensure nothing but excellence!

Hiring Janelle to help plan and run our wedding was the worst decision we made, and an expensive one to boot. To maximize content while minimizing word count, I’ll list things. -We had to urge her to follow through on tasks multiple times to the point where it would have been easier for us to do them. -We were hoping she’d guide us through the process, she didn’t. -She didn’t help us find vendors in a timely manner. -She never gave us a finalized timeline -We had a discussion prior to the wedding where we laid out our feelings towards her many failures/shortcomings hoping she’d turn things around, she didn’t. -She was poor at communicating with some vendors. One of our deals almost fell through until they reached out to us after radio silence from Janelle. -Day-of was a nightmare when it came to her tasks -She massively screwed up all of the seating to a point where is was impressively wrong after we supplied her with a foolproof floorplan layout that was even color coded. -She wasn’t there in the bridal suite helping the bride get ready in the morning as promised. -She didn’t do anything to keep to a set schedule (that we ended up having to make) -She didn’t stay on top of the shuttle so my (the groom) parents had to have a friend find them an uber to get to the ceremony. -She left behind some of the florals intended for the bridal party -She promised my wife food prior to the ceremony, that didn’t happen so she almost fainted due to that. -My wife had to keep everything on schedule throughout the ceremony/reception through constant communication with the DJ (Bee Entertainment, John was incredible) -We missed our planned sunset photos because she wasn’t there -She was absent for family photos so our cousin and photographer had to organize all the photos. Because of that, some important photos we had planned weren’t taken. (Photographers were Robyn and Finch, an amazing couple with massive talent. The lack of some photos wasn’t their fault) -Due to her lack of keeping a schedule, our videographer (John at Trifoot Production, amazing man and talent) stayed a couple hours late to get all the shots. -We asked her to make sure no one was on their phones during the ceremony, there were many phones. -During the reception, she was nowhere to be found most of the night. When she was there, she was in the lounge area. -Her mother/assistant interrupted my wife multiple times through the reception while family was talking to her. Virtually everything she said she would do in her contract was either only done after much prodding by us, done very poorly/late or not done at all. Not only was she not helpful, but she was a massive added stress and an overall detriment to the process. Our wedding was in August. We have emailed her and texted her since and had radio silence. We were not planning on making a public review, but her lack of professional decorum has motivated us to write this.

was very excited to work with Janelle however once the contract was signed and I have paid for the services she was very unresponsive. Would never follow through on the timelines she set out and I was always the one to have to follow up with her. After discussing my concerns about communication things didn’t improve and told her I would like a refund and it seems she has taken on more than she can handle.

As a fellow wedding vendor, I understand how chaotic the wedding season can be for all parties involved. But Janelle takes all the chaos in stride and thrives in making chaos more organized. Janelle insures that every brides vision becomes a reality bigger than they could imagine. She is a clear communicator, a visionary, and exceptionally organized. When you book Janelle, you not only get the best of the best, with connections to more of the best in the industry, but you also get a friend. Janelle deeply cares for all of her brides, is full of knowledge, and is always up to share a good joke. Working along side her during the last year has been a dream! I own a local floral design business and work with Janelle and the Hazel and Gray team on a frequent basis. Janelle always has her clients’ best interests at the forefront of everything she does. She is continually making each event and each wedding the very best it can be even when that means that she is doing the grunt work. Janelle rocks! Our wedding was great and she was for sure a critical piece of making that happen. To put it simply: our wedding would not have happened without Janelle Mily from Hazel & Gray. As far as planners go, she is the absolute best. Throughout our planning process, she was available, organized, and always went above and beyond for us. She connected us with the most amazing vendors, and maintained contact with them on my behalf. And due to Covid, she planned our wedding TWICE. A literal angel. Every idea I had, she took it and made it a thousand times more beautiful. She organized day of coordinators, and these wonderful, hard working women CRUSHED IT. If there were issues, I had no clue about them! Hazel & Gray gave us the BEST day of our lives!

Janelle was BEYOND amazing. After getting 8 million different ideas and pictures of things for a large wedding in MI, I completely changed plans and switch to a small wedding in TN. She was completely on board coming down with us and it was a heaven sent. She was instantly reaching out to new vendors trying to find everything I needed in only 4 months until my wedding date. Not only did she setup and organize everything, but the entire day she was my support system. You don’t realize how much you need someone there to run the show until the day of. I wouldn’t have known a single thing about how to coordinate everything with vendors or how to set up the line up for the ceremony, but thank god we had her there. I honestly cannot recommend working with Janelle enough. She feels like your best friend without ever meeting and is the sole reason that I had the most amazing time at my wedding. I wish I could rate 10000000/5 because she is even better than 5 stars!

Hazel & Gray is more than just your typical wedding planning and design. Janelle and her team will go beyond the distance for you. Whether it be a wedding or styled event, she puts her heart into every single thing she does. If you’re like me, you’re used to being in control. It was such a relief being able to trust Janelle full heartedly and hand her the reigns when it came to my event plan and design. She absolutely nailed the vision and did everything with such grace. I cannot recommend her enough. 10/10.

Janelle is SOOO on-top of it. She wowed us from our first introductory call, in which she came with all the right questions, getting to know us as a couple and making sure she had all the necessary details to execute a flawless event. I can't underscore enough that Janelle is awesome- she was incredibly prompt with communication, had a clear planning system, a ton of expertise in building an event/venue from scratch and was also so kind and personable in the process.

I was a little uncertain with trusting someone with every single detail of a wedding. But I was not at all disappointed with Janelle and her staff! It was absolutely amazing in every single way. It was exactly the type of atmosphere I was hoping for, it was laidback and chill and everyone enjoyed their experience. I would recommend Janelle and her staff for every single occasion. Janelle and her team were a dream to work with. We knew right away after our first meeting she was the perfect fit. She took our vision and turned it into something completely magical. I cannot tell you how amazing it was working with Hazel & Gray. Janelle is seriously incredible and thinks of absolutely everything! Because of her not only was I able to enjoy my wedding day, but so was my husband, our families and our bridal party. Janelle handled absolutely everything. Janelle did an awesome job with my wife's small outdoor, socially distanced 40th birthday party event. She went above and beyond making it a tasteful, fancy and fun event! She made signs, brought balloons and set up beautiful flowers. 8/30/2020 was the date of the party, not our wedding which was back in 2006.

Janelle is SUCH an amazing person to work with, such a visionary and so sweet. She really listens to your vision and can bring anything to life. With her own personality and passion, she pays attention to detail, and brings ideas to the table you wouldn't even have thought of. She is one of my favorite people to work with, from Bachelorette party planning, to my wedding, she really was amazing!

I’ve known Janelle a long time and I can honestly say, her level of expertise, talent and ability to bring your ideas to life is exceptional and magical. I have known Janelle a long time. I have watched her help plan parties for herself and friends over the years, so when I had the honor of not only being the Mother of the Bride but also the Matron of Honor, I knew I had to turn to Janelle for help. I not only had to help plan a wedding, I had a destination Bachelorette party to plan for 15 women! I was nervous about planning the bachelorette party considering it was for my daughter and in my day a bachelorette party was not much more than the girls going for drinks! Janelle was invaluable to me in every aspect from helping to find the perfect hotel, making dinner reservations, scheduling drivers and pick up times, customized bathing suits and shirts for the squad, personalizing our own pictionary game to suit the group and the occasion, to shipping decorations and giant floats to the hotel! Her insight and instinct was spot on! We didn't want the "typical" bachelorette. We wanted tasteful but fun with just a little bit of adult humor thrown in. Janelle delivered on all accounts! Everything went smooth and everyone had an absolute blast! As for the wedding, janelle went above and beyond! She has a natural instinct for knowing what people want or need within a short period of time! Her knowledge of venues, vendors, color pallets, flowers, what works, keeping within budget (the list goes on...) is amazing! No detail is too big or small for her. She even went dress shopping with us and while I was trying on dress after dress that just wasn't working for me, she managed to slip two in the dressing room that I would have never even considered. When I said that to her she just smiled and said "just humor me then". To my surprise, they not only fit perfect but I felt Beautiful! My daughter said "those are the dresses mom! Your face just lit up when you looked at yourself in the mirror!" I cried....and I bought both dresses! One for the rehearsal dinner and one as my Matron of Honor dress for what turned about to be a beautiful wedding! I cannot say enough good things about Janelle and her talent for just knowing "what's right" for each event, be it friend, family or client. She is very giving of herself and her time and was very patient with this mom that asked a lot of questions, changed her mind and back again and made umpteen million calls! Janelle loves what she does and it shows in every detail. This is not "just her job" ....it's her passion and it's what she was born to do! Now...for that baby shower that I have to plan..... :)

My husband and I have a very unconventional journey... Janelle Mily has been there throughout that journey with grace and understanding. We hired her and had to make some adjustments with our plans... Janelle has been very compassionate and accommodating, I thank you for that. She listened to what we wanted and captured our moment so we can save it for a lifetime. When my husband and I do eventually have our wedding reception here with our family and friends there is not a doubt in my mind that janelle will make our day Tailored to our style and personalities... because that what she does- she looks at you as an individual couple and figures out what is best for you (even when your uncertain what’s best or what you want!) Because everyone and every relationship is different and she takes the time to really get to know you, and your wishes. I highly recommend Janelle Mily and her company Hazelandgrayevents, atleast to anyone that wants to not only an event planner but a friend that cares about your individual needs.

Working with Hazel and Gray made my big day the success it was! I couldn't have been able to do it without Janelle. She can be involved as little (just day of support) or as much (calling vendors, coming to appointments, etc.) as you need her to be. I like that flexibility as some things were harder for me to tackle on my own than others. She made all the prep go super smooth and kept it organized. The big day she was such a help in making sure all the details were executed perfectly! If you are thinking of hiring a wedding planner, do it! And make sure it is Hazel & Gray!
