Originally built as a hardware store in 1870, it has been lovingly restored by its current owners, Mike and Lindsey. It now features all modern amenities, while retaining its original charm. As well as wedding ceremonies and receptions, it can also facilitate engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, and wedding showers. We can’t say enough about our wonderful experience working with Mike and his staff at Headquarters!
The venue was the first we looked at, and we knew right away it was perfect for us!
Mike answered all our questions and was very responsive to emails and messages whenever we reached out. Emma was the staff person onsite the day of the wedding and she was extremely helpful and made the transition from wedding space to dining and dance floor quickly and seamlessly.
The upstairs space, complete with a full kitchen and bath, was perfect and gave our wedding party plenty of space to relax and get ready. The natural light upstairs was perfect for capturing wonderful photos as we prepared for our big day.
Headquarters stood out for us not only because the space was beautiful, with exposed brick and hardwood floors, but because it was a tremendous value and among the most reasonably priced in the greater Cincinnati area. The price included table linens and the use of projectors, microphones, and sound system, which were things other venues we researched did not include in their base price. Mike also recommended catering and cake vendors that were terrific to work with. We would highly recommend Headquarters for any occasion!

We had our wedding and reception here July 2 and everything was just perfect. Mike is so great to work with, answered all questions I had along the way and just so nice. The space was open and intimate and just beautiful for what we wanted on our special day. Don’t sleep on this place- go tour it yourself and you will not be disappointed. We had about 70 people and it was perfect! Highly recommend this venue.

Highly recommend! Mike was an absolute pleasure to work with for our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception. We loved the natural beauty of the space, light above the dinner space, hardwood floors, and exposed brick. Mike was very responsive to emails and so helpful with anything we needed. We loved that we got to bring in whatever food and alcohol we wanted.

The building is beautiful, and with the option to DIY, you can create a space that is unique to you. This place is gorgeous and the price is super reasonable! The venue makes for a wonderfully picturesque, smaller wedding! Mike, the owner, was so easy and wonderful to work with. He replied quickly to all of my emails/questions within, typically, an hour and if not within the hour, it was that same day. He even replied to a question I had while he was on vacation! Just a wonderful venue!

Such an intimate but FUN space! The exposed brick is gorgeous. The owner was great to work with, very responsive and always helpful. He also had great recommendations, which we ended up using. Would love to plan another event at Headquarters.

Choosing headquarters as our venue was one of the absolute best decisions we made during wedding planning. Mike was always helpful, answered any questions with such quick response, and was so nice. You can tell this is a place that cares about their clients and helped make all my wedding day dreams come true. He helped with vendors got everything set up where I needed it and was always close by if there were any issues. This venue is absolutely stunning and made decorating easy because the venue had plenty of character every where you looked. 1000000/10 would recommend you book with headquarters!

Headquarters Event Center is such a beautiful location. It’s bigger than the pictures make it seem, and Mike the owner was very professional, proficient and responsive. The onsite help Lat and Alex were also very amazing and they helped everything go so smoothly. I highly recommend.

1) Mike met us to tour the venue and show us around, explaining everything and even answering last minute questions as the event was approaching;
2) Lindsey was there waiting to open the door when we came to decorate....helping bring things in and show us around;
3) Gabby greeted us with a smile and helped usher the couples in...helping us keep up with guest arrivals and answering questions throughout the day/evening.
It was a wonderful venue, full of character and charm, the perfect place for a beautiful wedding and reception celebration!

We loved the DIY aspect of Headquarters and how much freedom we had in hosting the event! It was so great to be able to bring in whatever drinks and food we wanted. Headquarters is a beautiful venue and we received so many compliments on how cute it was - we didn’t even need many decorations. Mike and his team were very supportive and flexible, especially in rescheduling which we really appreciated. We highly recommend HQ for your wedding reception as well as any other event!

I chose Headquarters Wedding and Event Venue, because I wanted a historic venue with exposed brick and hardwood floors. The owners’s story of the venue melted my heart and my husband and I couldn’t be happier with our choice. We renewed our vows and had the ceremony at another location and had the reception/anniversary party at Headquarters.
Mike (owner) was amazing to work with! He responded to email inquiries quickly. Headquarters offers a lot of value for your money! My husband and I looked at dozens of venues online and toured five in person. We ultimately choose Headquarters because of being able to choose your own caterer and being allowed to bring in your own alcohol. That choice alone could safe thousands. In addition, the cost includes almost everything you need in the price: linens, decorations, and catering equipment. There is also a day of event coordinator assigned on-site to let vendors in and be on standby. The location will also wow your guests nestled in historic Newport. Parking is also convenient with two free parking lots across the street.

Booked the Headquarters upon the recommendation of 2 friends for my son's rehearsal dinner. Couldn't have been more pleased with everything. Mike Smith is excellent to work with, was exceedingly accommodating and replied very quickly to any questions we had along the way. The space easily accommodated our group of 45. We enjoyed a cocktail hour in front & then moved to the dining area where the tables were set up in a pleasing arrangement for our dinner. All the guests were very complimentary of the Headquarters venue & we would recommend it to anyone planning a similar event!

I held a bridal shower for my daughter at Headquarters and it was great. I knew from the first time seeing I was going to book! The space is wonderful, so nice to have a lounging area and separate space to eat. Mike was great, very kind and responsive. Kitchen area nice and roomy, time allotment was perfect! Our guest commented on how how space was! I would definitely book again for an event!!

Headquarters is one of the most unique event spaces we’ve ever been in and was a fantastic pick for our wedding. Mike gave us all the information we could possibly need and more and was extremely quick to respond to our questions. Everything including setup, available equipment, and location were all perfect for our needs, not to mention the beautiful raw brick and furniture included. With the upcoming upgrades to the space next year we expect it to be an even better value and wish we were around for that.

We held our wedding ceremony & reception at Headquarters. Our night was truly sensational and the greatest night of our lives. The venue was a perfect size to accommodate guests, decorations, food, and dancing. Mike, the owner, was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating anytime we needed anything from him. Beyond that, the space worked great for all of our guests! We had roughly 80 people in the space and it did not feel cramped at any point of the night. We were able to seat all of our guests comfortably for dinner and dance the night away with room to move around! The only unusual part was a lot of moving of furniture but as the bride and groom, we never noticed any of it happening as Mike and our wedding planner were working so well together. We had two big movements throughout the night. The first was moving chairs to the dinner table following the ceremony and moving tables to the front room as well. The second was breaking the tables down in the front room and moving a couch back into that space to open the dance floor. It was such a seamless transition. The space also allowed for great pictures! The exposed brick is beautiful, the rustic furniture fit our theme well, and there was also plenty of room for our guests to step aside and take pictures of their own. We would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone hosting a <100 guest wedding!

As a wedding planner, I am happy to recommend HQ for other brides!! It's the perfect venue for an intimate wedding with a beautiful brick interior. The staff are more than accommodating & pleasant to work with & I look forward to working with them again next year! The wedding we hosted together in early October had roughly 80 guests, catered buffet style food, & a night full of music & enjoyment. Perfect venue for quaint gatherings ❤

Our venue was perfect and absolutely amazing!! I think that the best part about HQ is that you really don't need a lot of decorations because the venue itself is gorgeous, and they provide SO MUCH. Coolers, table linens, butcher paper, they even have table decor that you can use too, and so much more! Faith was SUCH a huge help when it comes to setting everything up and making the day run smoothly, so a huge thanks to her! We would recommend HQ to every couple having a wedding in this area!!

We are so happy to have chosen Headquarters for our wedding ceremony and reception. Mike was easy to work with from the beginning, was flexible in his schedule during our multiple requests to see the space and even allowed us to drop off items the evening before (which was such a stress relief!) The space itself is beautiful, with no need for heavy decorating as the exposed briuck, ceilig, everything can speak to many styles and themes, and Mike and his team were excellent about having everything set up as requested prior to our event. Even if some last-minute setup changes, the on-site coordinator assigned to us that evening was happy to help accommodate those last-minute requests. Perfect space for our 65 people (plus vendors). Our guests (many who were out of town) were also pleased with the location and ease of travel and parking. Highly recommend!

I cannot rave enough about this venue. Had my wedding of 75 people and this venue was absolutely perfect. Not only is the place beautiful, but the owners are quick to respond and easy to work with. Highly recommend this venue for smaller weddings or parties of 75 people or less.

This venue was perfect for a wedding rehearsal I planned. So beautiful and clean! Mike made himself available for any questions I had and was quick to respond. On the day of our event, Mike unloaded supplies and set up the bar area, which was an enormous help. His staff was also spot on and quick to help in any manner. This venue is gorgeous! And Mike was super helpful. They provide everything you need as far as linens and chairs. They have decorations, but I used my own. We were looking for a venue that accommodates smaller weddings and doesn’t charge you for not meeting the minimum amount. I highly recommend this venue, it is very industrial chic.

Used this space for our wedding reception. Vendor was knowledgable. Very available/flexible. Mike was just an all around good guy. Also the space is beautiful. We had around 70 guests, catering from Mazunte, cake from BonBonerie, DJ, cocktail performer, Photobooth (mirror), and of course an open bar (alcohol from party source delivered for free). We danced, drank, ate, laughed all in this wonderful space. I am so happy for our choice with this venue. Definitely go tour because it is bigger than the virtual tour depicts!! Wohoo!

Headquarters is the PERFECT venue for a wedding celebration on the small side. We held our ceremony and reception of about 50 people here and it truly could not have gone better. The owner, Mike, was very helpful and communicative after we postponed due to Covid, and with many questions I had while planning the wedding from across the country. The venue is great if you are interested in DIY/something very personal. We were able to decorate how we wanted (big thanks to HQ staff member, Faith!), and bring in our own food and alcohol. There were no strange limitations or restrictions placed on us like there would have been at other venues. Less than a week after the wedding and we are already thinking about future events we want to have at Headquarters. TRULY THE BEST!

Could not be more happy we chose this venue for our wedding and reception. The team here was so accommodating with everything we needed, even with some last minute hour changes. Mike was so quick with communication and was able to work with us from start to finish. The venue is absolutely beautiful for a small-medium gathering (we had about 65 guests and it didn't feel crowded at all). The brick walls, amazing bar area, front table, rustic feel, and string lights in the back meant we didn't need to decorate much at all!

We chose the Headquarters Event Center for our wedding rehearsal dinner and I absolutely 100% plan on choosing them again. All of my guests continuously talked about how cozy and perfect the venue was! We could not have been happier!! Not to mention how easy and smooth the process is with booking! Mind you, I booked this venue while I was living in Europe via FaceTime, two years prior to the event - and was even able to postpone with no additional charges.(Thanks C!) all of that, I think says a lot about a small business and the owners! Mike is incredible to work with and there is no doubt The Headquarters Event Center will be the smartest choice you can make for your event!

I literally could not have asked for a better experience with Headquarters Event Center for our rehearsal dinner & wedding (ceremony & reception)! Mike was amazing to work with, relieving any and all of my stresses throughout the planning process, super fast communication, very thorough, and super nice. The venue is beautiful. Parking is convenient. Mike is freaking awesome and very professional.
Venue= beautiful high ceilings, cool rustic antique pieces, the chairs are beautiful, catering was able to setup with no issues, opening the doors for the event and people to arrive no issues, the furniture was comfortable and in the perfect places, used the crates for gifts, Mike helped with cleanup at the end and with putting the boxes in the back after setup, everyone loved the parking, we had coolers for the waters and a cooler full of ice, hand sanitizer everywhere, the DJ was able to setup easily... I can go on and on, BOOK IT! The pricing is super reasonable too.

What are you waiting for? I wouldn't chose any other place for a smaller wedding! And lets not forget the open bar we made where the guests were able to pour their own liquor from the spout, and the boxes to put them on Mike provided with the drip mats under it. We should have left a tip jar for him as the "bartender" just because. LOL.

HQ is an amazing place to have your wedding. Whether it’s a large wedding or small Mike takes great care of you and your wedding regardless. The building inside and out is gorgeous and classy without being way over budget. Mike was always prompt to answer any questions via email and even there the day of the wedding to make sure things went well. We couldn’t recommend HQ enough for every bride and groom.

We hosted our elopement celebration at Headquarters. Mike was amazing and so accommodating. we had to change dates 3 times due to Covid and he was very helpful throught the whole process. We loved that Headquarters is affordable and let's you bring in your own catering and bartenders. Mike also had an assortment of centerpieces for us to use! The space is so unique and would be great for any event. The location is great, close to downtown and many hotels with plenty of parking for guest across the street. Everyone that came to our event commented about the unique historic space and how beautiful it was. We loved that Mike was open to helping a host a nontraditional wedding. This space would also be amazing for showers, work events, birthday parties and more.

I recently had my babyshower here. The venue is beautiful! The venue is very reasonably priced and comes with a lot of useful setup items/props. I would definitely use again! The only thing that bothered me at first was not being able to reach anyone by phone but they do answer all emails between 12-24 hours so there wasnt a problem overall.

He made sure the event could still happen, remain safe, and allowed us to celebrate our special day during a pandemic. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and everything I envisioned. Mike, the owner, was beyond incredible. KY implemented new COVID regulations 2 days prior to our wedding. Mike was in touch immediately and helped me figure out what we could do with seating. He was amazing and beyond kind through all of the anxiety my now wife was having.
The venue itself is a true gem. It’s rustic, historic, and has so much charm. It was everything that we wanted. We knew it was the venue when we walked in for our initial viewing. All of our guests were amazed at how beautiful the building was.
When we found out the price for our ceremony and reception, we were in shock because of how reasonably priced it is for how beautiful the building is. You won’t be able to find that kind of charm for a better price.

We have been so happy with Headquarters! The space is absolutely beautiful and doesn't need a ton of decorating, and is the perfect size for our small-ish reception. They have some centerpiece "starters" you can use and there are no vendor restrictions - which was a huge plus for us. They are LGBTQ+ friendly and the owner is super nice. AND, they were very accommodating when we needed to move our date due to COVID. I would highly recommend!

My (now) wife and I decided to have our rehearsal dinner here. We were originally scheduled to have it in June 2020 but because of you know what, we were forced to make adjustments and have our event in September instead.
Staff: Through all of the chaos and reorganizing, the Headquarters team, Mike prior to the event and Alex day of the event, was awesome. They helped us make adjustments to our setups, they helped us spread everything out so we could be as mindful of space and sanitization as possible. We really appreciated their assistance every step of the way, but in particular, the day of an event can be so hectic and they helped make it painless.
Location: The location is great. Right off of Monmouth in Newport, it is easily accessible from 471. We had our guests in town staying in downtown Cincy across the river, and this location still worked perfectly. There is metered parking right in front of the venue that is convenient, but the free parking lot across the street really makes planning for guests simple and easy.
Venue: The space is great. The front rooms of HQ in particular are in a style that my wife particularly loved and the furniture and decorations give it a nice vibe. We appreciated being able to use the venue's decorations for the table, and they complemented nicely with our own. They offered flexibility in who we could bring in for serving food and alcohol which eliminated a huge potential headache.
Verdict: I really just don't think that this price can be beat. The space and staff were everything we needed as already described. Book here for your Newport event.

Great space for an easy wedding experience! Lots of included extras (centerpiece options, lighting, seating options, audio/visual equipment usage, etc). The space itself requires minimal decoration as it's already so beautiful, rustic, and vintage. The owner was very helpful and attentive to any questions or needs we had. You are allowed to bring your own food or have it catered (same with bar service/alcohol). Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend.

We used Headquarters for my daughter's bridal shower. 55 people attended and it was the perfect space for our large crowd. I love how the rooms are setup: entrance, bar area, catering area, dining area and social area with nice furniture that can be easily rearranged for your day. All the amenities are there: ice, Keurig, warming trays, ice buckets, coolers, kitchen for food prep, centerpieces that can be easily changed to match your theme. Mike was a patient and gracious host for the space. Everything was clean and ready to go when we set up. The interior was the perfect backdrop for pictures. Plenty of parking and the location was perfect since we had family and friends coming from Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. I'm not sure what more I could have asked for. It was great and we received a lot of compliments.

Headquarters was the perfect place for our rehearsal dinner. Mike was fantastic and was even there to help us put up our decorations! I would recommend Headquarters for any event!

Great space with tons of charm and character. Really love the original hardwood floors and exposed brick. Highly suggest hosting an event here.

This is an awesome venue for a rehearsal dinner! The space has been beautifully restored and decorated and Mike was so easy to work with. He was exceptionally helpful with set up/clean up and provided some great suggestions to help me plan. The municipal parking lot across the street is an added bonus. I highly recommend Headquarters

Great location, eclectic interior, great atmosphere. Combination of old and new. Owner Mike very helpful and responsive. The price is right as you can bring your own food and alcohol. Free parking for guests too. Got lots of compliments on the place from guests. Expanded seating area in back and new cozy couches. Just loved it!!

Beautiful and unique place. I hosted my daughters baby shower here and it was perfect. Our guest fell in love with the place and atmosphere immediately. As people walked in, their first response was "wow!". I had a vision and this venue helped to make it happen. I could not be happier. Mike made everything so easy and he was SUPER helpful. We will definitely book more events here.

I wish this venue was open years ago when I got married! The space is gorgeous and Mike is wonderful to work with.. helpful, quick to respond to questions and professional. Highly recommend for weddings, rehearsals, showers and more!!

We had our rehearsal dinner here and it was so nice to be able to rent an affordable and GORGEOUS space that provided all tables/chairs/linens. We were then able to just bring all of our own food and drink and decorate however we wanted. Mike was extremely helpful and flexible with us.

We have had 2 events at Headquarters Historic Event Center in the last 2 months and we couldn’t be happier with both of them. Mike was very accommodating with all our requests and was available and responsive. He was very timely in answering emails which was my favorite way to communicate. The first event was a small wedding and Headquarters was the perfect place for the intimate wedding my son and daughter-in-law wanted. The second event was the wedding celebration with about 100 people and it was the perfect place for that event as well. Mike has technology available for your needs and the tables, chairs and other furniture to create the mood that works for you. And we actually loved that we could bring our own food and drinks. We got so many compliments about the venue but all the credit goes to the owner Mike Smith. We highly recommend the Headquarters Historic Event Center.
