I felt so understood and listened to the whole time and we ended up putting two dresses together with the Build-a-Bride collection to make something perfect for my upcoming wedding. My final try-on with Heidi was also incredible! My dress was designed and created with plenty of time to spare and it looks stunning. (So stunning that I keep sneaking peaks of it when my fiancé isn't around.) This was the only place I went to when wedding dress shopping and I 100% recommend them to any bride to be!

never a thought for me due to budget. I thought maybe this sale would give me a custom dress in my budget. I called and made an appointment to meet Lauren. This would start an experience I honestly never thought would be possible. I had not looked at or tried on any dresses so having Lauren’s input and guidance was a true blessing. I did not find my dress at the fall sale but found what style and color looked best for me. I followed up with Lauren the next spring and brought my bride squad to help find the perfect wedding dress. Lauren is very detailed and had written down everything we discussed from our previous appointment. She also pulled similar dresses that I liked and had them ready to try on. The bride squad also pulled a few dresses to give their input. I decided on one of the original styles we pulled from our initial appointment. Lauren also helped me to customize the dress to fit my needs and stay within my budget. She also blinged up the dress with a few accessories to make it fit my personality. She had everyone close their eyes and open at the same time. The expression on my face, as well, as my bride squad, helped me say those famous words: Yes, to the Dress! demic, I only had my mom with me; however, it was so special just it being my mom and I designing my wedding dress. We certainly did NOT expect the spectacular experience we had at the atelier. Heidi was there with Liz, Hannah, and Marlye (from the Auburn shop). What a dream team! All of the ladies, including Heidi, were so down to earth and helped me visualize my wedding dress. I didn't have a Pinterest board or really much inspiration walking in, so Heidi helped me tap into my personality, etc., to pull out what I truly wanted. She worked from "nothing," and customized my dream wedding dress. We combined silhouettes from four dresses into one. I can't say enough how much I loved (still love!) my wedding dress the team created. Liz is a mastermind and her beautiful work on the beading was brilliant. I wasn't convinced on wearing a veil, but Heidi and Liz both sold me on it and they were right: you only get to wear a veil once in your life. I could go on and on about our amazing experience, but I'll just say this last thing: It was truly a memory of a lifetime working with Heidi and her amazing team. I married the love of my life in my favorite piece ever, and I can't thank them enough for it.

that day was with Heidi at the Atelier in Downtown Birmingham. It was THE BEST EXPERIENCE ever and wildly exceeded any expectations I had. The store is so beautiful and the dresses are so exquisite that I felt like a princess, and Heidi and her staff made me feel so special! I found THE dress that day, tried it on and knew it was it. I was so worried that it would be out of my budget but was so surprised it was well within my budget due to being one of the build a bride styles that I added a few custom features to make it my own. I didn’t even go to my 2nd appointment elsewhere because I just knew nothing could top this. Fast forward a few months, I had been searching everywhere for what I had in mind for my rehearsal and just could not find it. I decided to go back to Heidi because she made my wedding dress process so amazing. We brainstormed and she created THE PERFECT outfit for me, it was like she read my mind. She loved it so much that she decided to add it to her collection and named it after me. WHAT AN HONOR!!! I will never be over it. I cannot say enough good things about Heidi and her team, they are the real deal. She was beyond helpful and the combination of her calmly guiding me along mixed with Heidi’s uncanny ability to just know what works is magical. We worked out my timing AND they combined the two dresses into one - instant dream dress. At one point, Liz had me in two dresses at once, which sounds crazy, but it was actually stunning. They helped design and illustrate the dress I have always wanted that was timeless and classic like my grandmother and moms wedding dress come to life but adding my own features to make it my own. I was not expecting to buy a dress at the first place I ever looked but she has something special for everyone!

COST PROJECTIONS: When we dropped off the dress in September 2019, we were given a verbal estimate of 10 hours based on previous work. While the contract states project hours are TBD, they market themselves as seasoned experts in the industry so we took their estimate at face value and trusted they would communicate any variances. Therefore, you can only imagine our shock when we received an invoice for 30 hours -- 3x the quoted amount. When questioned, the only reasoning they provided was that it was “more complicated than originally expected.” The significant need for more hours was never communicated or approved. • LAST MINUTE DELIVERY: We dropped off the dress in September – over 6 months before our wedding. I did not see or try on the halter piece until 2 days before our wedding in April 2020. It was delivered to our house the same day we were departing, leaving no time for proper alterations. • UNSUITABLE CUSTOM WORK: To Heidi’s teams’ credit, the halter is beautiful. However, it was sadly ill-fitting and even had beads falling off when I first tried it on. It required 3 hours of alternations to be made in our driveway as we were packing to leave for the wedding venue. Even with those last-minute adjustments, it still does not fit appropriately, and I will be going to another seamstress for corrections before our postponed wedding reception. We honestly thought, based on her reputation, that Heidi would be understanding and helpful when we reached out to her after the wedding. Sadly, we were dismissed as having “misunderstood the contract” and received zero apologies for our ordeal. Heidi presents her company as making a brides’ dream become reality. Unfortunately, the above describes anything but a dream. I would strongly warn anyone looking to alter an heirloom dress not use Heidi Elnora’s company unless you are willing to write a blank check for both your time and money.
