EXCELLENT suits- EXCELLENT staff who have GREAT taste!! Larry C was amazing in helping us find the perfect suit for my Groom and our two adult sons! They looked GORGEOUS! I would've given 5 stars but communication was lacking and my Grooms shirt he purchased was not in the garment bag- he discovered this the day of the wedding (I know, his fault!) but it was purchased it should've been in the bag with the rest of his suit, suspenders, tie, etc.
Look no further than Jeff at Heimie’s to get you and your guys looking your best for your wedding day or any other event. Jeff worked with me to combine the perfect suit with a fully custom vest and shirt. He guided me through all my options until we landed on the right ones. When it came to my groomsmen, the attention to detail was incredible. Jeff understood exactly what was needed for alterations, and the tailoring came back perfect. He didn’t bat an eye working on a different timeline for my out of state best man. We were able to get him in just a few days before the wedding, and they turned his suit around in under 48 hours. We couldn’t have looked better and we have Jeff to thank for that.
My husband had a vision for our wedding that included a vintage, tweedy vibe. We had the worst luck trying to find something within our price range with the right feel to it. On a whim (and on a trip, we didn't plan on taking), we ended up walking into Heimie's Haberdashery. WOW. What an amazing store. Within the first few seconds, we were greeted and immediately, Brandon was sent to the dressing room to try on the suit that became his wedding suit. He looked amazing. The staff was so polite and helpful - even offering to ship us his suit since we were out of the area. Special thanks to Kathy Urness!!
We loved working with Heimie’s for my husband’s tux. They are so helpful and knowledgeable. Chavez is who helped us and he really rolled out the red carpet - bringing us drinks while we waited and even called in a restaurant reservation for us next door. The tux was custom tailored to perfection, I’d definitely go there again. Chavez even said that if anything goes wrong the day of the wedding, he’d run over to the venue to fix it.
This place is FANTASTIC! My husband has been in several weddings over the past couple years so we were well versed in clothes not fitting, orders being mixed up and ultimately, not fitting correctly the day of the wedding. We researched this placed quite a bit, but it wasn't until I saw their work on a guest at one of the weddings that I knew this was the place to get my husbands suit. The suit for the guest was off the rack, but looked like a custom one. Heimies really knows how to tailor (and they will tailor anything)!
My husband loved the whole experience (he got a custom suit), his groomsmen (they got suits off the rack from Heimies) raved about the store, how the suits fit, how comfortable they were and how excited they were to wear them again in the future.
The only reason for the 4/5 starts is because the suits were not ready on the day we were told we could pick them up (5 days before the wedding), some of the suits needed to be fixed on pickup and one never ended up getting fixed (likely because the groomsman didn't bring it back lol). And it is very difficult to get in touch with anyone at the store who actually knows about your file. If you are persistent though, your men (and photos) will look amazing!
Also too- once you did get in touch with the right person, the customer service was great :)
Thank you Heimies!!
Don't. Just don't.
This place seems really nice & "quaint" and has an authentic feel when you walk in, but the service varies depending who you're paired with from pushy to confused/accusatory to actually competent/respectful.
We went here to purchase the groom's suit and were told "oh no, we don't have what you're looking for at all really, but HERE! try this on!" After trying it on, the salesman immediately started marking it for alterations before even asking if we liked it. After 1.5-2 hours waiting amongst random chaos in the store I guess the suit grew on us & we decided to buy it. and a shirt. and a pocket square. and a vest. and an over-priced tie. the complete package. Alterations would be included they said (he'd already pinned it in). They refused to alter the dress shirt we'd purchased & insisted on holding all of the items together until alterations were complete.
3 weeks later--I had to call to check on the alterations--are they done? "Let me check & right back with you!" 2 days later--no response. I had to call 3 more times before we got a response (of any fashion) & thank goodness the suit was ready to pick up!
We make a special trip downtown to pick up the suit. They locate the suit jacket & trousers, but cannot find the shirt or the vest or the pocket square or the tie. What?!?!?! While they scramble around chaotically the groom tries on the suit. The pants were hemmed atrociously. Like--how---??? They offer to "fix" them on the spot (because they're still trying to locate the rest of our purchase!), so ok, yea, let's do it! The trousers come back even worse and in the meantime, they misplace the suit jacket! ---!!!!----What???
About 60 minutes later all articles have been located (after they tried to force a similar shirt of the wrong size on us) by the only competent, respectful employee in there and we're running out the door after this horrific experience.
We should have stayed away. But we go back a couple days later to see if the 3rd times the charm for actually getting the suit pants hemmed decently. It wasn't. The groom went in solo on this trip & was treated APPALLINGLY by the staff. He was absolutely ignored when another groom + his bride came in to have a shirt altered. Unbelievable.
I ended up hemming his trousers myself because of the utmost incompetence of the staff here. Just. Stay. Away.
Prior to this "fun" experience, the groom had been to the barber shop 2 times (gift card trips) for haircut & beard trims--all of which were also disasters. Trip 1) Dani arrived 20 minutes late for the appointment. The other stylists just let us stand there wondering what was going on, not saying anything like "oh she's running a few minutes late"--nothing. She wasn't apologetic when she arrived & she hastily did the cut to finish during the scheduled time. Trip 2) SPECIFICALLY scheduled an appointment for a haircut AND a beard trim. Arrived & were told, oh I only have time for 1, but if you wait around for an hour afterward I can "squeeze you in" for the 2nd service. What??? SPECIFICALLY scheduled BOTH. AGAIN--totally unapologetic, this was clearly OUR fault.
I can't say it enough--just DON'T.
I am posting for my husband:
I went here to get a suit for myself and for groomsmen for my July wedding. I wasn’t sure if it was exclusively for our venue, but we were given a very attractive wedding package deal. We were able to get some high quality tailored suits for a very reasonable price which was great. While we found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable, there seemed to be a lot of miscommunication and confusion regarding our order. Gus, who made this sale, was generally very bad at returning calls and following up on any questions or concerns. The first issue was a slightly lower price charged than what was quoted to me. I called and spoke to another staff to confirm that this was indeed for 4 3-piece suits and was told that it indeed was, and that Gus must have applied an additional discount. I thought this was just a bonus, but only two suits came with a vest. I inquired about this but wasn’t concerned if not everyone had a vest, but just wanted to make sure we got our money’s worth. It was only after several calls AFTER the wedding that we discovered that I actually had only paid for two piece suits and for some mysterious reason received two vests by accident? Who knows what happened there. Another issue was that I and one of the groomsmen ended up double-paying for part of a suit at one point. I called Gus and asked for a refund, and he said it should take a few days. About a week and a half later I called after not seeing a refund. Gus said to check in a few days. I had a few more exchanges like this, and generally felt like I was being brushed off, until finally in November I called and reached another staff. This staff member finally provided me with a more appropriate response to my problem, and it was less than a day that I saw the refund on my card.
So to sum this up, I loved Heimie's, even if I did have some less-favorable service. It’s not just a store, but an experience. It’s reasonably priced, and has quality products. Gus was super nice and friendly in person but was lacking in follow-through. While I did get help in the end from other staff, I still got the impression that there is a lot of miscommunication and confusion at that store. I would still recommend this place to almost anyone, with simply the warning that you might have to be a littler more persistent and assertive to make sure you get what you need in a timely fashion.
Overall, we had a great experience working with Heimie’s for custom fit suits for our wedding party.
The suits looked incredible and all fit perfectly! I had the pleasure of working with Chavis throughout the entire process. Having one point of contact made for a personalized experience. Chavis was great at communicating with us through minor delays caused by material shortages, and insured that everything would be ahead of schedule, and it was. They provide great prices for their suits, but just make sure you get your final agreed price in writing. They did always honor the price we agreed on, but sometimes there was a little confusion.
We appreciated the little things that made the experience at Heimie’s better; coffee while you waited, validated parking. We definitely recommend them!
Really really great atmosphere, immaculate tailoring, all while enjoying a beer and a shave. The men gave this place 5 stars.
I went to Heimies to have a custom shirt, vest, and pants made for my wedding. They were very easy to work with and I love the atmosphere! I described my vision and they made it happen exactly. I was a little nervous when my clothing wasn't ready until a week before my big day, but everything ended up coming out ok. The quality of the clothing is great! They have a very nice selection as well. I would certainly visit again when I want some custom clothing made.
We had a great experience with Heimies for our wedding tuxedo rental. The groom purchased his tuxedo and we had 8 rentals for the wedding party. The employees were highly knowledgeable and very professional. The tuxedo rental price was actually slightly less than what we would have paid for the Vera Wang tuxes at Men's Wearhouse, but with exceptional service and attention to detail.
We had the groom's suit custom made at this shop - very expensive & turned out amazing. We also ordered suits (to purchase) for our groomsmen - which the salesman recommended we do (his idea). One month prior to the wedding we were told that they could not be made with very little explanation. We were extremely disappointed and no apologies were made, no attempt to make the situation right, basically they told us they couldn't do it, that's all. So if you want to drop a lot of dough & have a suit custom made - go here. Otherwise, skip it.
I threw my groom and his groomsmen a fitting party full with burgers, growler kegs, and straight edge shaves and all of the men loved their experience. The employees were sometimes confused about our wedding day details, which was a little nerve racking at times, but overall, we ended up with a quality outcome. The guys looked great.
My guys had a "guys day" here while picking up their tuxes. They had old fashioned barber shop shaves, cigars, beer, burgers, etc.
Fun store, knowledgeable staff, and great tuxes... All our men looked great!!!
What a wonderful business to work with for our wedding tuxedos -- so professional and a joy to work with!
We were originally very impressed with this store, prices, and service.
However, the tuxes did not fit the guys well and were almost falling apart. The guys did go in for a fitting the week of as required, nothing out of the ordinary there. Many pictures are ruined because the tuxes look so awful on my husband or the other guys.
