We cannot speak highly enough of you and your incredible Helga's team. The care and attention paid to every detail was so appreciated, especially towards us, the bride and groom. You were so easy to work with and patient with answering all our questions, and made us feel so at ease with the entire process, especially when the weather turned and made everyone pivot. You are the ultimate professional and we are SO THANKFUL for everything you and your team did. We adored Chrissy and her leadership on the day of the wedding, and all the staff members were so friendly and welcoming to all the guests. We received so many compliments on the food, especially the appetizers - they were a huge hit. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. I would without a doubt recommend Helga’s Caterers. We used them for our 80 person wedding and did not skimp on food. The Asian station with Peking duck and vegetarian spring rolls were brought up weeks after the wedding. We had the pasta station and it was decorated with so much thought and care. The beef tenderloin and horseradish sauce was delicious. The staff including the bartenders were so fabulous and professional. I love this vendor. Michael was so great to work with from the taste testing to adding linens and glassware for the reception. His communication was effortless and I knew I was getting everything I asked for and more. Thank you for making my wedding day so special. This vendor is worth it.

My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our whole experience with Helga’s from the start of the planning process to the wedding weekend. The owner, Michael, and his entire staff are incredibly professional & provide wonderful services. Everyone at our wedding commented on how amazing our cocktail hour & reception food was! Not a single item on the menu was anything less than delicious. Michael welcomed my husband & I in for a tasting early in the process which was equally delightful — himself & his staff were again so kind & professional. Every little change that came up during the planning process leading up to wedding day was quickly included & noted by Michael & team. We appreciate how accommodating & flexible this team was on a day where there are so many little details. We cannot stress how highly we recommend Helga’s for your wedding. You will not be disappointed! Oh, and the bartenders were awesome!!!

We had Helga's cater our wedding and everything from the food to the service was beyond our expectations. Everyone came up to us saying how good the food was the entire night! Besides the amazing food, the service was unbelievable. They helped set up the venue before we arrived and everything was set up perfectly. The service throughout the night was also very professional and well executed. I could not recommend them more for anyone looking to have a large event catered!

We've used Helga's in the past for several major family events and recently for our wedding, and they were amazing! Michael was able to make our vision come true and was very accommodating to help with minor by important details to make the event run smoothly. The food from Helga’s was great. We enjoyed every bite (and the leftovers), and all of our guests raved about it. Some even went back for seconds! However, as hard as this is for me to write because the owner was so great, the service staff the night of our wedding was atrocious. The bartenders did not seem to have the faintest idea how to make any mixed drink / cocktail. Something as simple as a gin and tonic, guests were given vodka instead. They used the wrong mixers, told guests we didn’t have a certain alcohol even though it was right in front of them, and poured incredibly heavily. We stocked our own bar and ended up returning 90% of our mixers and only 4 bottles of liquor. This may sound like the opposite of a problem to some people, but when it comes to the safety of our guests, it was very concerning when I learned about all of this. Again, the food was very tasty, but it is incredibly mortifying to have paid for what was supposed to be a high level of service to learn that my guests had to teach the bartenders how to make simple mixed drinks or to show them where the drinks were. I also provided my own silverware and plates, (which we still have a lot of leftovers) and left everything for the caterers to use while prepping dinner. A guest dropped a fork, asked for a new one, and it took 20 minutes to get it. How could it take 20 minutes to find a fork that you put away yourself? They knew where they were. All around, a terrible experience when it came to the rest of the staff. Michael, the owner, was great, but overall experience from our wedding was not at the level of service we were expecting after all of our emails and in person conversations.

Helga's Caterers were absolutely incredible. We did a very DIY wedding, but the one place we didn't skimp was the caterers. My fiance knew he wanted a Greek buffet, and Helga's "Big Fat Greek Wedding" menu was perfect. But even better than the food was the completeness of the service they provided-- extremely fast set-up and take down, bartending, cake cutting, creating beautiful displays of bread and cheeses, providing glassware, plates, tablecloths, napkins, everything. it was flawless service. They even made a plate of appetizers for my husband and me while we were getting photos taken during the cocktail hour and had a drink waiting for me! At first I was nervous that Michael didn't seem to be asking me a lot of questions about the wedding, but then I realized that he's done this so many times that he doesn't need to ask-- he knows exactly how to make a wedding run smoothly. I felt so comfortable and relaxed the day of my wedding knowing I was in good hands with Michael and with Helga's. It really was a perfect day!

Our guests were shocked at how good the food from Helga's was. We worked with them to design our own menu (based on their International Buffet), and they built in several more vegetarian/gluten free items at our request. They also made allergy friendly meals for two guests with specific needs. They are a family team, and they ran our buffet, made our awesome cake, rented tableware, and ran the bar we stocked. They cleaned up at the end of the night and everything was great. They were also one of the most affordable options in the region! So glad we found them.

We had a great experience with Helgas. The owner Michael is extremely helpful and responsive. He worked with us to create a menu that fit our needs. Michael is detail oriented and worked hard to ensure that everything went smoothly on our wedding day.

Michael and his team did a phenomenal job catering our wedding at Briar Patch. Michael was extremely helpful with coordinating the menu and logistics as he accommodated all the allergens and substitutions for food. We got the dinner menu with the Intermezzo, which worked out great for the kids and provided a bit of laughter around the table for our guests as they thought that they got dessert after salads. The staff who served my wife and I before the wedding helped us get an actual meal before the wedding reception, and we loved being able to try everything that we picked out AND that the food wouldn't be in any group pictures with our guests. My family told me post wedding how great the staff was as well, so I'm thankful that all aspects of our wedding, both what we saw and what we didn't were enjoyed by all our guests.

Helgas was amazing to work with from the first inquiry to post wedding. They were so responsive to all of our millions of questions and most importantly made delicious food for our wedding and rocked the bar! They were so flexible and receptive to our ideas. I would recommend them 100%

Helgas catering was such a highlight of our wedding day. Wedding planning is typically stressful, but Helgas took stress from our lives in every way imaginable. The service we received from Michael and his team is top notch. Any time I’d have a random thought or stressor, Michael would simply smile and provide a list of every way he could make our wedding perfect. He is flexible, patient, and exactly the type of person you want to work with. The value of the food that Helgas provides is unmatched. Our dinner was phenomenal, and guests enthusiastically took every opportunity for seconds. One of the most beautiful surprises was just how gorgeous our cocktail hour was. Michael described to us a spread of fruits, cheeses, vegetables, breads, and crab dip, but oh MY was it beautiful and so much more than expected. They added touches of fresh greenery to the buffet tables, and they arranged the appetizers to where it was almost too pretty to touch. They also took our cookie table tradition with stride, and took our 2,000+ homemade cookies and arranged them in a stunning display. We actually forgot to grab our small tray of leftovers from dinner after we stayed the night at our venue, and we drove over an hour back to our venue to grab them because the food was just that good! Helgas took such care of everyone, with extra attention to my husband and me as we were immediately brought a tray with every drink we could think to choose from and a plentiful spread of appetizers during cocktail hour. Despite having a buffet, Helgas served my husband and me the whole night, making sure that we were treated like royalty. Our guests can’t stop talking about the food, and we are so grateful for Michael and his team for all of their help.

Helga's gave us a wonderful wedding dinner. Not only was the food delicious, but Helga's was able to make it happen in a location without water, electricity, or gas. They handled all the logistics - tent, etc, and everything they were responsible for went completely smoothly. They also attentively acted so that we (the bride and groom) got food, drinks, water, and cake despite how busy and occupied we were. They were even alert to errors made by other vendors and really watched our back to make sure the day went well. Helga's was extremely communicative and worked with us to have the kind of wedding we wanted. They clearly are extremely experienced and professional and I would definitely use them again for future large scale catering needs.

If you are considering Helga's stop looking around and book! From Michael's accommodating and responsive communication beforehand, to the flexibility with dietary restrictions and seating changes, to the beautiful (and tasty!) cake, fantastic service, and special and personal touches like saving the leftovers for us and our out of town family, Helga's is top notch in every way! And that doesn't even begin to cover how competitively priced, delicious, and beautifully presented the food was! I would book them again in a heart beat.

Michael and his team provided our wedding excellent meals and service. We do not have a single complaint about the quality of his services. From the food to the speed in which his staff were able to serve each and every one of our guests, we could not ask for anything more! They were great from the beginning to the end. Michael and his team had great communication with us from the very beginning and was very easy to work with. We could not recommend them more! I cannot recommend Helga’s enough! From our initial inquiry to even after the wedding day, Helga’s was incredible. Not only are they very communicative and easy to work with but the staff is so efficient, kind, and hard working. Truly a great group of people! Also the food was AMAZING! Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the beef tenderloin and the mashed potatoes but everything was so delicious and served hot! Servers and bar tenders kept our guests happy and full the whole evening. They were on time for everything, helped with set up and making our table dreams come true, and made sure that our champagne toast went off without a hitch. I cannot recommend Helga’s enough!

We used Helga’s to cater our wedding reception. It was a small intimate celebration at our house. Chrissy catered our meal and she was amazing. When we returned from the church, she had everything set out and organized for our guests. The cocktail buffet with assorted fruit and cheeses along with Crabmeat Charissa tasted delicious! The dinner buffet with beef tenderloin, poached salmon and vegetable medley were mouth watering. Also very impressive was how Chrissy keep a nice flow to our special event along with cleaning up and storing everything properly. We were extremely pleased with Helga’s catering and definitely would not hesitate to use them again.

Working with Helgas is like working with family. Mike and his team from beginning to end not only helped make my wedding dreams come true, but had just as much enthusiasm as David and I. To top it off the food was out of this world, the only disappointment I had was not having some for left overs the next day!

Helga’s is a fantastic choice to blend value and great taste. The steak was fantastic and our guests raved about It, and they were flexible with us as we had to adapt several times due to covid contingencies. They were very easy to work with and gave us some wonderful personal touches - a beautiful $200 wedding cake, and they figured out how to engineer getting our heavy cake topper on without taking down their creation.

This amazing company saved my wedding after the venue was originally cancelled by the bankrupt venue. They duplicated the menu we had picked from the original company, down to the apps! The bartenders and servers went above and beyond to make sure all our guests were happy and served. Michael the president was even involved with finalizing the details and answering everything we needed. Linda was always at the ready to answer any calls and went out of her way to accommodate us. They made this crazy experience a breeze :)

We had a November wedding at a venue that provided minimal day-of management and with no day-of coordinator or planner and Helga's helped make sure that everything ran smoothly. They went above and beyond and we had such a good experience with them that we asked them to cater brunch the next day as well. Everyone we worked with was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. And the food was GREAT! Helga's is a really great value and they do an incredibly professional job. Would definitely recommend.

If you are looking for sensational food at a reasonable price, Helga's is the way to go! Their food will satisfy all of your wedding guests' taste buds. From their incredibly flavorful stuffed chicken Florentine to their white clam sauce pasta. Everything from their menu is out of this world delicious and will surpass all your catering expectations. Our guests were still raving about the incredible food the next day. Last, but definitely not least, the owner of Helga's, Michael is amazing to work with, he makes you feel like a dear friend, rather than just another wedding client. Bottom line, if delicious food is one of your main wedding priorities, go with Helga's!

Michael and his team worked with us to create a fun and fairly nontraditional wedding menu that got rave reviews from all our guests. He accommodated our requests for kid-friendly fare like mac n' cheese and an ice cream sundae station and his calm demeanor helped everything move along smoothly. And the wait staff were incredibly attentive and helpful to us and our guests. I recommend going buffet style so you can enjoy the leftovers - they were delicious!

Wow - from our tasting we knew this was a great match for our catering needs but their team still blew us out of the water! They were able to accommodate serving cocktail hour out of a converted horse trailer, accommodated our special cocktail, used decorations we provided, and adapted to the newly built venue without hesitation! Their staff was so friendly and always made me feel included and involved in the decisions they we making. We were in great hands and the night was so wonderful! They were prompt, quickly added things we needed month of the wedding, graceful in unloading and packing up, and we’re such team players to make my our special day the best ever. THANK YOU!!!

We are beyond thrilled to have worked with Helga’s Catering for our wedding. First of all, the food was unbelievably delicious, and our guests raved about all of it, from cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres to entrees. I’m allergic to gluten so I was intimidated about the prospect of finding a caterer who could accommodate a completely gluten-free menu, and from the very beginning Michael, the owner, assured me that it would be easy to do, which made me feel safe and relaxed enough to enjoy everything on our menu. We got to customize our menu and Michael was even open to making a Paraguayan family recipe for us; when we opted to have my sister make it instead using my grandmother’s recipe, he was incredibly gracious and the staff even heated and cut our family dish. He made sure we could serve exactly what we wished, and as if that weren’t enough, his staff took incredible care of my husband and me throughout the day. We had a buffet dinner and they offered to make a plate for us, and they checked on us repeatedly to make sure we had plenty of booze and water, too. We ordered cake from a gluten-free bakery, and because we ordered two kitchen cakes, they had those precut and ready to go so our guests could dig in right after we cut the display cake. They plated the display cake quickly, too, and I was able to share a piece of all three flavors with my husband because they made sure mealtime went very smoothly! Cleanup was so quick that I didn’t even notice it happening, and they boxed everything up perfectly, including the top layer of our cake. If you want to serve food that you and your guests love AND you want to make sure everyone is beautifully cared for along the way, we highly recommend Helga’s Catering.

A caterer can make or break your wedding... and Helga's knocked it out of the park! I absolutely loved working with them. We had a very tight budget and Helga's was incredibly accommodating to it, while still providing excellent service. They bring a lot of experience to the table, and Michael and the staff were so attentive to every little detail. I came to the tasting with a list of questions, and they were prepared for everything. The food was delicious, and I received many compliments from wedding guests. The wait staff went above and beyond - they were constantly thinking of little ways to help guests (and my husband and I) enjoy the day (and keep it drama-free!). Besides my wedding photographer, Helga's was my FAVORITE vendor! So responsive and thoughtful. If you're on the fence, just do a tasting with them... you won't be disappointed!

This review is a bit overdue. Helga's catered our wedding reception on October of last year. We spoke to several caterers and they were the most responsive and worked with our budget and requirements. Michael did the walk through of our reception location with us and helped map out a rain plan (which we eventually used since it was a rainy/cold day). Everything else went according to plan on the day of our wedding. We received a lot of complements for the food and the staff was extremely professional. Michael even showed up to our reception to congratulate us and make sure everything was running smoothly. My wife and I would highly recommend Helga's for your catering needs.

I cannot say enough good things about Helga’s catering. As I was doing price quotes on caterers for our wedding, I quickly realize that most caterers will not/cannot accommodate variations in menu and pricing. When I contacted Helga’s, they nearly bent over backwards to make sure that I could customize a menu to what we needed, and they did everything they could to fit within our budget, and that they made us as happy as possible. I got tons of compliments on how good the food was. Helga’s staff was nothing but service oriented, I referred them to my brother for his wedding and it was the exact same treatment. They worked with them on he menu they needed, worked with their budget and preferences, and the food was spectacular. Needless to say, I will always recommend Helga’s anytime anyone asks me for a catering referral!!

We, along with my entire family (& our guests!), were so incredibly lucky to have Helga's team as the caterers at our wedding. They did an AMAZING job. The food was delicious (i.e. - they nailed our request for authentic Moroccan food), the staff was incredibly helpful and kind, and everything was set up to perfection (as I had pictured & more). Mike and Lynda - the leaders behind the scenes - were both an absolute pleasure to work with individually and we felt so safe in their hands throughout this process. Helga's was wonderful to work with through the whole process and I would recommend them highly. My wife and I had a positive experience with Helga's catering with our October wedding this year. Michael was very easy to work with and accommodating with the various changes that we wanted. He made us feel comfortable right from the start and was responsive to emails. He even made time to come do a walk-through with us at the wedding venue. Helga's Caterers was wonderful to work with. Michael was a delight - provided honest feedback, suggestions on menu items and substitutions, and was ultimately very responsive to all of the questions that we had. He also provided plenty of assurances on how the catering would work on the day of the ceremony. As a result, we were very relaxed and comfortable knowing that the food would be handled well! Helga's catered both a rehearsal dinner, a cocktail hour and the reception dinner. Food was well received by all of our guests - we heard many compliments about it (plus, we liked what we eventually got to eat!). The staff Helga's uses is also very friendly and always had a smile on their face. Would definitely recommend Helga's for any future brides and grooms.

I would hire Helga's again in a second! Michael and his staff did an incredible job at our wedding last month. Our friends are still talking about how great the food was, the buffet and tables were beautifully arranged, and the service was perfect all night. I didn't have a wedding coordinator and Helga's made sure everything ran beautifully. Throughout, they accommodated all of my questions, requests, and schedule and made great suggestions. We met with some other caterers who had over the top showrooms (and matching prices) but Helga's food spoke for itself. From the tasting to the post wedding clean-up, I couldn't have asked for more.

Where do I even start ?! Please please if you have a chance to work with Helgas DO NOT hesitate !! They were so beyond incredible to work with and our wedding wouldn't have gone so smoothly if not for them ! From the first time speaking to Michael and meeting and hearing his calming nature, I knew Helgas was the right choice ( they were the only ones to actually take a phone call with me vs just emailing !) He even worked with our budget and made changes as we needed. It didn't just stop at the initial proposal and tasting with their outstanding customer service ! One of the admins Lynda answered all my questions on details for the wedding and was a supportive soundboard as I talked things through, making the whole wedding planning process so doable and fun ! And everyone on the wedding day from Francisco to his wife Judy to the bartenders and wait staff worked so hard to make sure everything went exceptionally well!! I can not thank all of Helgas staff for making everything leading up to our wedding to the wedding day for being so beyond amazing!! Genuinely and sincerely everyone at Helgas are there for the clients and that is so hard to find these days ! Oh and the food ?!! BEYOND DELICIOUS !!

We absolutely loved working with Helga's for our wedding! They were recommended to us by our venue staff, and were fantastic from start to finish, meeting with us to sample the menu, communicating and checking in with us at all stages, and were absolutely wonderful the day of the wedding. We had a brunch wedding, and everything was delicious. They were amazing about working in all the small details we wanted to include (homemade banana breads for each table, mini doughnuts for place cards), and made everything easy. They were affordable and professional, and we couldn't recommend them more highly.

Helga's Caterers provided food for our wedding and they had such a broad array of food choices it was wonderful. For the rehearsal dinner we had German food with sausages, spaetzle, red cabbage, kartelpuffer. Appetizers at the wedding we had Indian samosas, chicken skewers with peanut sauce, for dinner we had pork loin and beef tenderloin. We also had Indian food catered that was delivered and Helga's did a great job of making sure it was handled properly. Not only did Helga's handle food, they also helped with setting up/take down chairs for our outdoor ceremony, have bartenders who did phenomenal job making the bar area look professional, clean and inviting. One of our important requests is that we wanted no lines at the bar -- we did not want people to socialize in line. They made sure the line was only a couple of people long.

If you hire Helga's, you won't be disappointed. We were looking for a caterer that had excellent tasting food, offered bar options and could provide the wedding cake, too. With all the stress of planning a wedding, it's so nice to be able to rely on a vendor who handles it all and provides the equipment, supplies and decor, if needed. The staff was amazing and courteous, the food went fast! There was plenty of food and everyone had seconds. There wasn't much left over, which meant our guests loved all of it! In fact, guests were raving about how good the food was long after our event. Helga's made sure everything ran smoothly- we didn't even notice any of the clean up. Excellent caterer and so pleasant to work with. I've recommended them to friends who are getting married and would love to use them again for future events!

From start to finish, Helga's was great to work with. They helped us develop a unique menu to fit the style of our wedding. The food was excellent and so was the service. They won us over in part because they were able make the tasting fit our schedules, and the food sold us from there.

Helga's catered my wedding and, based on that experience, I would recommend them to someone looking for a solid caterer at a reasonable price. Throughout the planning and coordinating process Michael was great to work with; he was responsive, good recommendations and options, and accommodating. We did have one issue pre-wedding, though, when a few days before our wedding they asked us where our ceremony is taking place even though we had clearly already gone over this. Compounding the issue, a woman at Helga's - I believe it was Lynda - was patronizing and spoke to my wife like she was being crazy when my wife was reasonably concerned that such an important question was being asked so close to the event. We got it squared away and the night went off almost without a hitch. I say almost because by the end of the night we were all getting our drinks served in red solo and styrofoam cups because they ran out of glasses. I'm not one to get bent out of shape at such things, it was toward the end of the night and we were having a blast, but when we're paying you thousands of dollars for a service the last thing I expect is get drinks served in disposable cups. Even with those hiccups, though, I would still recommend Helga's as they were reasonably priced (DC services can be just stupidly expensive), did a good job, and our guests were hitting the buffet for seconds (a good sign when it comes to food).

Helga's catered our June wedding - they were great! The buffet was attractively arranged, the food was delicious. Michael was great to work with in the planning stage. The wait staff was attentive to details and worked to make everything run smoothly. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience with Helga's! Everything from the tasting on was very personalized and professional. They were able to work with our tight budget and give us great options. They even helped us out at the very last minute when we realized we forgot about glasses for our champagne toast! We highly recommend them!

Helgas was easy to work with, knew what they were doing and guided us through our wedding planning. We enjoyed talking and emailing Michael and Linda and when our day came everyone was so professional, relaxed and helpful. The food was top notch. We are so thrilled -the Briar Patch staff recommended them and they exceeded our expectations.

Our taste test with Helga's made the decision for us, on the spot. My husband got stuck at work and couldn't attend, so they boxed everything we tasted up so he could try it at home. Helga's was not only the best priced option we found in the DC area, but we were amazed at the quality of food. That would have been enough, but they were also both extremely flexible (we supplied our own alcohol, they bartended) and complete professionals for our ceremony.

My husband and I were very happy with the service we received from Michael Evans and Helga's Catering. We had been exhaustively searching for caterers when my husband came across Helga's. From the moment we reached out to Michael and his team they were very responsive in answering our questions. Michael went above and beyond working with us to build the perfect menu for our wedding, even going as far as to create new menu items to allow us to encompass unique appetizers that held special memories for my husband and I. He was also amazingly patient in working with us to get all we wanted for the wedding in the budget we could afford (including pre-ceremony drinks, late night snacks, etc.). I wanted to be super involved with everything and Michael was ok with that, even letting me go and meet with their distributors so I could see what our tables, chairs, place settings, etc. would look like so there would be no surprises. The day of our wedding everything went perfect and tasted wonderful. I would recommend them to family and friends in a heartbeat.

WONDERFUL!!!! I loved working with Helga's catering, as did my entire family. Their customer service is astounding and their food is amazing. We had SO Many raving reviews about the food and cocktail hour appetizers. On the first day meeting with them, they were very accommodating to my mom by making her a special dish since she had to be gluten free. The day of the wedding, they were perfect on time, their bartenders were great and servers were phenomenal. Thank you guys for making our day so much more special and delicious! *And for being the most affordable catering company and helping us with our budget!!! You guys are the best!!!

We loved Helga's!! They provided our tent, tables, chairs, and food. They were so easy to work with, and MUCH more affordable than any other option we came across. It was great to find an affordable, high quality service that could provide both catering and a tent. The food at the wedding was delicious, I made it a point to eat at my reception, and I was glad I did! We had a chicken entrée stuffed with spinach with marinara sauce, salmon with yogurt dill sauce, vegetable orzo, green beans, rolls, and strawberry spinach salad. It was light and perfect for a hot outdoor July winery wedding. My friends all raved about the food, and I still get comments about how good it was even three months later! I would highly recommend Helga's to anyone for both the quality of their food and service and how easy and friendly they were to deal with.

We used Helga's for our rehearsal dinner and reception dinner for our wedding this past September at the Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast. Helga’s staff were always friendly and helpful in planning both events. We didn't want a wedding cake, and we were excited to see that they were able to provide a variety of mini desserts - including ones that we suggested! Helga’s served Banana pudding trifle, key lime tartlets, and chocolate mousse. Everyone loved the mini desserts and most people had more than one, which was our intention! The rehearsal dinner was a delicious Greek feast complete with Baklava dessert. People went back for seconds and thirds and we had a little leftover to eat the next day. The service was awesome. The Helga’s staff person took care of everything from planning, preparing food, restocking the buffet, and even grilling the kebobs on site! The reception dinner was also amazing. The salmon wrapped in puff pastry is something people are still talking about a month later. And as a busy bride that night, that was one of the only things I ate, and it was amazing. They set up the buffet to look beautiful, and their service was impeccable. everyone was friendly and polite and helpful and they made everything run smoothly. They also were kind enough to move the tables at the end of the night to help us prepare for brunch the next day. Lynda was helpful in advising us on signature cocktails. We used their bartending services, and everyone received their drinks quickly and loved all three cocktails that were offered. We also had mocktails for the kids, which was a big hit. We used their table linens and napkins and everything looked beautiful. Michael provided advice about planning, scheduling, and working out numerous last minute details. As an example, we needed help coordinating what size tables and where they should go, for both people and food. Michael coordinated with both us and Briar Patch to figure everything out. It was so helpful to know that they had worked with Briar Patch before and had everything under control. Helga's catering service was awesome and we would recommend them to everyone! The food was outstanding, the superb service was catered to our needs, and the value was outstanding.

Helga's was excellent in providing us with great food and service. We had planned to help out with a lot of things from set up to clean up, but Helga's was there to help us out and take care of things that needed to get done that we were too busy to do. Their staff was very nice and courteous all night, and they did a great job of putting up with our relatives and friends who were really enjoying the night. The food was excellent, and Helga's provided a unique variety that fit what we wanted to have for the wedding. We'd recommend them to anyone looking for good food and service, with a personal touch that will help make your event more your own.

We were really glad that we used Helga's catering! They were on time, hard working, friendly, and the food was AMAZING!!! They were willing to work with our budget which was so important to us. My friends still talk about the food that they catered and many of them say it was the best food they have ever eaten at a wedding. They set up the wedding outdoors even though it was raining and at the last minute we had to move it indoors. They were very accommodating for all of our needs! I definitely recommend this service!

Helga's was great! They catered our wedding with Oktoberfest themed food (bratwurst, suckling pig, potato pancakes) and it was all just delicious. The event went very smoothly day of and we felt really well taken care of. They were definitely willing to work with our budget and we found them a comparatively affordable option to many other caterers we researched.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised during our taste-testing session a few months prior to our wedding when we tried the chickin ding, quesadilla, and the sliders. We were also skeptical that the food would actually taste as great during our wedding as it did that day we tested it. Amazingly, on the day of the wedding, the food tasted even better than before. Not only was it some of the best food my wife and I had eaten, but we had dozens of people saying how great it was. By far my favorite was the chicken ding! Not only was the food incredible but the service was bar-none. The owners went out of their way to make sure everything was perfectly placed and timed for both the rehearsal dinner and the reception. We couldn't have been happier with Helga's Caterers and we strongly recommend anyone who is having an upcoming wedding to have Helga's cater! It is expensive but when compared to other caterers it's pretty reasonable and you get what you pay for.

This was the second time we used Helga's for a wedding, and even though the menu was very different, we were just as pleased with the quality, and the "presentation". Also, we were pleased with the flexibility making changes in the menu and working with our budget. The service, as well as the food, was exceptional, from everyone we had contact with in the office, and our servers. I would recommend Helga's for any catered event.

Helga's is a good choice for the Northern Virginia bride. My guests loved the food, and the servers/bartenders the day of the wedding were fantastic and attentive! Everything the day of went off without a hitch. My only negative regarding Helga's was the process leading up to the wedding. We wanted to plan well in advance because of our schedules, but didn't feel like we got any attention until the week of the wedding. We ended up feeling like we were annoying them asking any questions at all. It was a June wedding, so it could have just been their busy season. But overall, the wedding was perfect- so no harm, no foul.

Helga's catering was just an amazing vendor. They made sure to work with all of my questions and needs to make sure the food was up to my standards. My wedding was a multi-cultural wedding (Vietnamese-Peruvian) so the food had to represent both sides; Helga's was able to deliver and surpass my expectations. I did not have to worry about anything else, they arrived on time and made sure for everything to be perfect (they were in charge of the linens for the decoration as well). I would recommend and use this vendor in a heartbeat!

Helga's Catering was such a great choice for my wedding in June 2015 in Ashburn, VA. Michael was great to work with - responded quickly to emails and calls, helped us at the tasting and came out to our venue to plan out where the food and drinks would go, etc. We went with a pretty basic menu (chicken and beef, potatoes, salad, bread) but my guests really liked the food. We asked them to serve me and my now husband (bride and groom) first and separately and they were happy to accommodate. My family even took home the leftovers. They were the most reasonably priced of the caterers we looked at and I'm so happy we chose them. Definitely contact Helga's!

Helga’s Caterers was absolutely the BEST choice to cater our special day, July 25, 2015. The wedding brunch reception catered by Helga’s accommodated about 70 guests. It included an open bar & AMAZING food: all managed by a well-staffed, poised team. Mike and his group made our day absolutely incredible! Everyone was extremely professional from the onset of our relationship. His attention to detail and sincere willingness to make you live in that moment is authentic and refreshing. They seemed to have a sixth sense about our needs, as their client. Helga’s held our guests in awe: from the crisp, color-coordinated linens and the perfectly-creased napkins, to the evenly sliced tender beef sirloin and miniature crab cakes (with a *delicious* remoulade sauce). The blended drinks were delightfully smooth, and accentuated with an array of freshly-manicured summer fruits. The entire combination was better than we could have dreamt. To have such an elite caterer provide an exceptional meal with bartending for a reasonable price is unheard of nowadays. My husband and I had a very tight budget and footed 95% of our wedding costs, so we felt deep relief when Mike assured us of his willingness and ability to help create a 5-star menu within our meager budget. Unlike other caterers have done with friends, Helga’s didn’t surprise us with hidden costs/overhead. For Helga’s, their focus was on the food and satisfying the client. Working with Helga’s Caterers was like working with family – even better, in fact! We are so very grateful. Helga's did an excellent job at our wedding on 7/25/15! Mike Evans was incredibly helpful and flexible throughout the planning process. He allowed us to do a tasting of menu options and was completely open to changes and substitutions. The food was great, the menu options were extensive, and the prices were so reasonable- much more affordable than any other caterer we looked into! The reception went very smoothly, the setup and cleanup were quick, and the details of the room/decor/layout plan were exactly as discussed before the event. I would recommend Helga's to anyone!

We used Helga's to cater our outdoor wedding in May 2014. From our first tasting I knew that Michael was the person we wanted to work with. The whole company was quick and easy to correspond with. Everything was perfect the day of the wedding. They set up our tables the way we envisioned and the food was amazing. Our guests are still telling me how good everything was!!!

Helga's did an amazing job on my wedding day. Once we sat down and the buffet stations were open, they were kind enough to bring the food to us. Even during cocktail hour, a server found me getting some help with my dress and offered to bring me food! The beef wellington and crabcake bites are amazing! If there were any issues, I didn't hear about it. Highly recommend!

Helga's Catering was amazing to work with and the food was delicious! We wanted to do a BBQ-style buffet, but that's about the extent of detail we had reached before meeting with Michael Evans at Helga's. The food at the tasting was absolutely delicious, but the main thing that sold us on Helga's was how comfortable Michael made us feel. We met with him again the week before the wedding and he was very accommodating with the few changes we wanted to make. We felt confident that he would take care of everything, and his demeanor and obvious expertise was incredibly reassuring for a stressed out bride! The day of our wedding was perfect, the waitstaff were incredible, the food was delicious, and the linens perfectly matched the vibe we were going for! We definitely recommend Helga's to other couples and would choose them as our caterer again in a heartbeat.

One of the main reasons we chose Helga’s was primarily because of the excellent customer service. They followed up with us so that things didn’t slip thru the cracks (we had so much on our minds). My husband and I were planning a wedding on a Marine Corps schedule.... from out of town. We didn't have the luxury (or pleasure!) of getting to taste test our way through the wedding planning process to choose our favorite. Instead, we relied on recommendations from our venue, and chose the caterer that gave us the best deal with the best reviews, and was responsive to work with! We chose Helga's after The Briar Patch B&B advertised a special package deal that included appetizers, the main course, china and linen rentals, and the waitstaff/bartender we needed! We never met in person before the wedding day and I'd never even gotten to try the food we selected, but what an incredible experience! Helga's Caterers went above and beyond both before and after the wedding. Their staff was fun, helpful and attentive every step of the way, the place settings were beautiful, the food DELICIOUS, and their event staff really rolled with the punches! My brother surprised my husband with a keg of root beer soda, and we didn't tell Helga's that it was coming (oversight!). Without skipping a beat, the bartender tapped the keg and started serving root beer. When another family member showed up with unplanned ice cream at the reception to make root beer floats, Helga's staff started preparing floats and table serving them to our guests! My family and friends had rave reviews about the food, but I can't express enough how big of a role Helga's Catering played in making our day so incredibly special even down to the smallest detail. They went above and beyond to provide a fun experience for our guests, and I would highly recommend them for future events!
