To other brides considering this venue, my opinion would be to look further. I will only share a few of my personal experiences with this venue. I worked with my daughter for over a year planning her wedding. Every detail was considered and carefully planned. Spreadsheets and diagrams were professionally made showing every aspect of the venue, including the placement of every table, pretzel bar, candy bar, flowers, decorations, and seating assignments . There were diagrams made of the ceremony area also. There were also large wooden room dividers to be placed so the guests could not see the bride enter the ceremony. This was important to her. All the clear directions were sent to the 'coordinator', whom we hired to insure everything was done as directed, since we did not live in Kentucky. The 'coordinator'; reassured us "not to worry." The rehearsal was nothing more than a mass of confusion. And it showed at the ceremony when none of the bridal party knew exactly where to go, and parents and grandparents were not seated. None of the flowers were at the ceremony and all the pictures (ads) of Hemlock shows ferns along the benches. It was bare with multitudes of leaves that I was told would be raked up prior to the ceremony and were not. Well, the room dividers were just sitting sideways and my daughter was visible to all the guests. I was thankful we brought a golf cart, though. The walk from the ceremony to the reception is not flat, and with the heat combined, I worried about the elderly guests,; nor did the venue offer help or assistance for elderly guests. Prior to reserving this venue, we had questioned the heat since there is no air-conditioning available. We were told the fans in the venue kept it cool and that if we got 'to ho't or 'if elderly guests needed a place to cool down,' we could use the bride and grooms air-conditioned rooms. We were also informed by the 'coordinator' that we could have alcohol in the grooms and bridal area prior to the reception and to bring a cooler. Well, after seeing the disappointing ceremony area, I was beyond shocked to see the reception hall. The thousands of dollars of flowers and decorations were in buckets and boxes shoved under the long cake and buffet tables. NO flowers or decorations were put out. The tables were not where they were suppose to be placed. The Pretzel and candy bar never set up. Nobody was assisting guests to tables and people just ended up anywhere. I was told there would be a refrigerator to house the cakes until they were to be served to prevent melting and they would provide a rolling cart for them. My mother and I made the wedding cakes, as she does professionally. Upon entering the reception I noticed the cakes were left out and were melting due to the heat. Guests were rushed to get cake before it all melted. It was October, but it was HOT. The fans in the venue did little and the brides and grooms air-conditioned rooms had been locked and nobody was allowed in them. I was told by the staff 'guarding' the suite doors that she could not let anyone in because of "insurance reasons." I watched as Hemlock Springs staff removed the alcohol from the grooms room and gave it to the bartender that worked for the catering company. I was not aware at that permission had not been given to remove anything from the rooms. I then watched as the staff emptied the rooms and just literally 'threw' peoples belongings outside the door. Including my personal belongings.
