Hendri's Events

There are not enough compliments I can give to express my gratitude and experience working with Dan and Mara. We booked with a venue that works with them. Out of all the options on the list, Hendri's is the only place to not only contact us and get to know us, they genuinely cared as well. They listened to our needs, didn't b.s. on pricing and kept everything transparent. Leading up to our wedding they helped us and the venue come up with the layout for the room, because we were bracing for a cold snowy day. As my stress level was rising, they never fluctuated, they were a solid foundation for us. My husband and I, both respectively work in the industry, so they knew they were in for a party. Boy did they show up. SO MANY of our friends and family raved about the food. Mara absolutely killed it. I had people telling me how disappointed they were in whoever they had booked with in the past because our menu was that phenomenal. Their bar and wait staff were the most hospitable and helped me right before the walk down the aisle ( makers mark in a champagne flute FTW ). So yes just book Hendri's. You will not regret this dynamic duo just crushing all the other catering companies out there in all areas. Thank you both so much for a perfect reception!

We hosted our reception at Hendri's on Ridgewood. Their event space was warm and inviting. From the beautiful wallpaper, to the wood trim, to the fireplace, it was the perfect venue for our December wedding. Dan and Mara were a delight to work with and always available to answer questions during the planning process. And the food--YUM! Our guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed it. We don't think you can go wrong with Hendri's.

We received so many complements from people about our food. We were told it’s the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. It was a pleasure working with Hendri’s. We used them for both our bar and our catering service and I have zero complaints. We all felt very well taken care of. The food was amazing and I wish I could have eaten more!

Hendri’s was a great team to work with. They catered our wedding at Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park and it was a great experience. The communication was great and I felt confident going into our wedding day that our food and drink would be all set. The food was great and we got complements from our guests about how good the food was. The servers were all super kind and friendly along with the bartender. I highly recommend!

Dan and his staff are awesome. So great to work with for the big wedding day and the food was fabulous.

Our son and daughter-in-law had their reception at this lovely venue two weeks ago and it was everything we'd all hoped for. Dan was very patient with us with the seating arrangement and gave several good suggestions. Maura and the other young lady were extremely helpful with set up and table flowers/decorations. The food was delicious and plenty of it. One of the nicest things was that we didn't have to collect everything at the end of the evening-we could pick up vases, dishes, leftover cake, etc. a couple days later! Everything was in boxes and ready to go when we got there. I would recommend Hendri's to anyone that wants a traditional, warm, non-industrial atmosphere. The huge bar is beautiful dark oak wood. Lovely!

We used Hendri's catering for our wedding at the Sheldon. Dan was extremely helpful and knowledgeable from beginning to end. Our tasting was delicious and we sat with him to go over all of the details and pricing. All of the fees and pricing was very clear, which we really appreciated. Everything on the day-of went great as well. The staff was professional, the food was delicious and the desserts were amazing. We got a ton of compliments. Thank you!

Dan and his wife are absolutely fantastic! From the very beginning Dan had several sit downs with us to review in detail the food offerings and packages they have. The tasting was absolutely amazing and personalized. Hendri’s was open to customizing our experience to what we had envisioned (milk and cookies bar, using meat for some h’ordeuvres from the family farm, etc). The day of the event was absolutely amazing. Dan was there to make sure everything went perfectly, as well as Erin. Bar service was superb as well.

Dan and Mara and their team were terrific! The food was delicious; the presentation, beautiful; and the on-site team, terrific. Received many, many compliments about how lovely the engagement party was. They had a big hand in making the evening special. Very easy to work with, very flexible and creative.

Dan was great to work with, food was great. Even provided a Soda Float bar for us. The staff was very helpful, and pleasant to work with.

Having our reception was one of the best decisions we made that day. They are top of the line professionals and it's obvious they have been in the business for a while. They put together our day more beautiful than we could have imagined. They thought of every detail and helped to make the evening run so smoothly. Their staff was attentive and quick. The food was outstanding; so many compliments all night. We had a photo booth, a DJ, a musician for dinner and ice cream all come in for our evening and they worked with us to make every one fit beautifully. They were, by far, the most reasonable and easy to work with reception place in our extensive search.

Dan and Mara were simply amazing to work with; the food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. During our tasting, we sat down with Dan and he served us beautifully plated and delicious food. After explaining each item, Dan left the room and allowed us to try the food with zero pressure. We felt comfortable to openly discuss our thoughts, although they were all positive. Other tasting we went to, the representative sat with us during the meal but didn’t eat. It felt awkward and unnatural. This was not the way at Hendris. We felt comfortable from Day 1. Our wedding was 3/30/19, we had 225 guests, and there was plenty for everyone. All our guests raved about how wonderful the food tasted and that it wasn’t your traditional “reception dinner” but a meal they wish they could order at a restaurant. We couldn’t agree more! If you’re looking for delicious food with outstanding service and a fair price, use Hendris!!

Hendri’s was exactly what we were looking for! We considered many, many venues, and originally contacted Hendri’s for catering in a space we liked downtown. We didn’t even know Hendri’s had an event space. We asked for quotes for both off site catering and using their space and the price was not that much different. We did a venue tour and we were sold. The space is not much to look at from the outside, but the inside is gorgeous, beautiful dark wood, a fireplace, and a giant oak bar. Because of it’s “nowhere” location tucked away in a south city neighborhood they were also close to $3,000 less expensive than other venues we were considering. They worked with us on our non-traditional menu that had to feature brats and potato pancakes. They even sourced the brats from our favorite place, G&W Meats. Six months later people are still telling me how much they loved our food. This is an all-inclusive venue, they will set up, serve food, provide alcohol, let in your DJ, and clean up. They even boxed up all my centerpieces and let pick them up the following Thursday. We had a great experience and if we ever need to have another big event will consider Hendri’s first.

Hendri’s is amazing! It was the best choice in caterer we could have made and definitely one of our best wedding choices. Dan and his team were so wonderful to work with and very patient with all of my questions and requests. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and taken care of at the wedding. I received TONS of compliments on the food, many guests said it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding, and I was more than happy with the menu that we all came up with together. I would highly recommend Hendri’s to anyone!! They provide great food, great service and a really great value. As an added bonus, they have an excellent team, an excellent bar and are overall just really great people to have on your team!

I am beyond pleased with Hendri's! The food was delicious. The service is great. The price is good. They are a delight to work with. I got so many compliments on this venue about the food, super friendly staff, and how cool of a place it is and the ambiance. It's like a hidden gem in South Saint Louis! Everything was perfect! They do all the set up, linens, centerpieces. You cannot beat the price for what you get! Hendri's is amazing!

Hendri's catered my daughter's wedding. I couldn't have asked for a better place to work with! Dan was awesome and the food was even better!!! He had me stretch my comfort level of the normal carved roast beef to the carved roast pork. It was delicious!! I wouldn't change a thing. People were talking about how great the food was all evening long! They still are 5 days later! Thanks Dan and crew for making the wedding even more special!!

Hendri's was the best caterer ever for our outdoor wedding this summer! They are extremely responsive, friendly, and professional. Of the seven catering options our venue provided us with, Hendri's definitely had the best tasting food and as an added bonus was the most affordable. They did a beautiful job setting up the tables, linens, food, bar, and place settings the day of the wedding and the food was delicious. The servers were very attentive to us an our guests throughout the night. We highly recommend them and are very happy we chose them for our special day!

I cannot speak highly enough about Hendri's. They worked with us, answered all of our questions and phone calls, and really made our day perfect. And the FOOD was incredible! They're reasonably priced, and the inside was absolutely beautiful and there was a good flow through the room. At the end of the night, they even helped gather up all of the things we had brought and loaded up. They went above and beyond.

What an incredible experience! From the first meeting, Dan was so pleasant and professional, and so very easy to work with! The venue is like an amazing surprise...you'd never know how big and beautiful it is from the outside, but once you walk into the hall, you're blown away! The staff, the food, the service, the space, the price...everything is 5 STARS!!!! We could not be more pleased with the way our wedding turned out thanks to this amazing venue!!! Highly, highly recommended!!!

Because we had to pay for our wedding on our own and have two kids we were on a limited budget. We had something specific in mind and I was convinced there would be a hidden jewel somewhere in Saint Louis. We found it in Hendri's. We paid less for more than many of our friends who had gotten married. People were blown away by what was included in our price and the services offered by the venue. We worked with Dan and he was very responsive and accommodating in our planning and very patient with our questions. The night of went pretty smoothly. There were a couple hiccups but really, so minor not really even worth mentioning. Everyone loved the venue and we got a ton of compliments on the food. We had about 140 guests and it was the perfect space for the size of our group. We were told that we would have someone outside telling people where to park and we found out later in the evening no one was out there. When I brought this up to Dan after the wedding he called me pretty quickly to apologize and explain what happen (which he made clear, it's an explanation, not an excuse) and was very apologetic. We even got an additional apology in the mail. It was also really hard to tell that night who was running the evening for the venue. One employee, Erin, was really just fantastic and just went above and beyond with everything she did. We really owe her our praise for the evening. They are incredibly flexible with everything from table placement to menu planing. We got to have an input in everything that was served. It has been about 2.5 weeks since our wedding and I am still getting compliments from people on what a nice evening it was. It was a very positive experience. I would definitely recommend using this venue.

The food was great. Everyone loved it. My only complaint is that my wedding party and parents were supposed to be served champagne for the toast. But never recieved it. All and all it was a great dinner and my reception looked amazing.

I can not say enough good things about Hendri's. Dan and Mara are wonderful. This venue is absolutely beautiful and the food was amazing. So many of our guests complimented us on our choice. Hendri's made sure we were fully accommodated, even when we were being a little picky. The staff was GREAT!!! The night could not have gone smoother. We got delicious food off of real plates and drank fantastic beverages out of real glasses. I contacted Dan multiple times throughout the planning process and he was always quick to answer me back. If you are planning a wedding reception, I would 100% recommend Hendri's, without thinking twice. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

We contacted them because they are a preferred vendor for another place we were looking at, but we ended up using Hendri's own space for the reception instead. Everything was fantastic - the food was spectacular and Dan was really great to work with! Their space is great - plenty of room but cozy with a fireplace and a really nice bar. We had about 120 but it could have fit a lot more (but 120 didn't make it look empty). They also had a good craft been selection and a full bar which was great. Reasonably priced and everything was great - so happy with our choice here! I definitely recommend them for either a caterer somewhere else or to use their space.

Not only was the staff great, the food!!! My goodness, I'm not typically a fan of wedding/banquet food, but this was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Numerous people commented on/asked who did our catering. Delicious!

Dan knew the answer to everything I asked, and more. He was so helpful with explaining things to me and the food was delicious.

Dan at Hendri's was amazing to work with. I was so overwhelmed with everything wedding and from our first meeting, he quickly put things in to perspective for me and was able to calm me down. Dan was a huge help along the way, recommending anything from florists, design ideas, color schemes ect. The food was the cherry on the cake because it was incredible!

We had our wedding reception at Hendri's and it was the most amazing night I could have imagined. Everything from first contacting Hendri's to picking up my decor after the wedding was a total breeze, so easy to work with. AND THE FOOD. Literally the best wedding food I have ever had - we have been getting non-stop compliments about how amazing the food was. The bar is lovely and they have so many options - my guests were very pleased. The venue was beautiful and intimate while being spacious - they even put my decorations up for me and set the tables (which a stressed bride really appreciated) and they did an amazing job. I was so so grateful for the care they took with our wedding. We cannot recommend Hendri's enough - I would give them 10 stars if possible. They truly helped make our wedding the most amazing day of our lives.

Excellent food and hard working staff. Working with Dan was a lot of fun, we wanted something different for our food and his ideas were endless.

We had our ceremony and reception at Hendri's on October 1, 2016. We loved it! It's such a beautiful venue, the perfect background for our vintage inspired wedding. And the reviews are true, the food is absolutely amazing!

Dan, Mara, and the whole Hendri's team (special shout out to Rick the bartender) all did a great job from the first phone call to the end of an amazing evening. I received so many compliments on the food and everything was handled so smoothly. If I am ever in the need of a caterer again, Hendri's would be my first (and most likely only) call!

Very disappointed. The food was not the same as the tasting. Broccoli was uncooked and hard, the chicken tough and stringy. Over-all, the food was bland. Very embarrassed to have this quality of food to my wedding guests.

Hendri's did a great job for our wedding. We met with Dan a few times and he is more than accommodating when it comes to adding and subtracting to your menu. During our reception, some of his staff noticed that one of our other vendors was behind and needed some assistance, without asking, his staff helped the other vendor and made things go even more smoothly. Thank you to them; they really went above and beyond.

The staff was super helpful from the first meeting and the food was delicious. A great affordable choice that that beats many caterers in STL. Guests were raving about it!

Overall, I enjoyed having Hendri's as my reception. So many people complimented the food and proclaimed it was the best wedding food they had ever had; it was! Unfortunately Hendri's does not offer a tasting, so we got really lucky the food turned out so good! I worked with Dan (the coordinator for Hendri's) and he made the process much easier. We emailed back and forth quite a bit and he was always on top of answering emails and working with us on different things for the reception. We were able to request certain alcohol to be available (they only do open bar) for the night; we even brought in our own keg. Once it got closer we did run into a few snags. We did not know who was to be in charge the day of our wedding, we were told we would have two bartenders and we only had one working at a time; which cause a line to form and people had to wait to get drinks and the centerpieces were not done exactly as was requested. When we came to get our stuff the next day (they politely offered us till Monday to pick it up and we had a Friday wedding), the person who was there did not know everything that needed to go. One last thing, they had us bring our stuff in a week in advance because Hendri's actually sets everything up; which could be bad or good depending on what you want.

A big thanks to the staff at Hendri's!!!! The food was delicious. We had so many compliments on how wonderful the food was and how great the staff was. Anthony and I were so pleased with how attentive, professional and helpful the staff was at our event at the Butterfly House on July 04, 2015. I would recommend Hendri's for all catering events. Thank you again!!!

We had a great experience with Hendri's! They really listened to what we wanted for our food and desserts, and had great ideas for specific items to serve. They always were prompt in their responses to our questions, and we felt that they kept our vision in mind with the menu and service. They even brought us the tablecloths a day early and offered to set up our centerpieces, which was a big help. We had so many compliments on the food, and no one left hungry!

LOCATION OF CEREMONY & RECEPTION: My husband and I got married in December. Because most of our guests were out of town, and it was likely that the weather would be cold, we decided to have our ceremony and reception in one location. Hendri's has one banquet room. That being said, we had our ceremony and reception in one room with the guests already seated at their tables. I was extremely nervous about this setup, but to our surprise we received numerous positive remarks from our guests. They absolutely loved being in one location and not having to deal with the hassle of finding their way to the reception. We only had about 150 guests and I wouldn't go over 160. FOOD: Now on to the food. We had heard that Hendri's had good food, but we did not taste test beforehand. When choosing the menu for the evening, there were many items to pick from. Dan was very flexible and accommodated our preferences. Although I could not eat that night (because of my nerves going crazy), everyone LOVED the food. We chose the roast beef and chicken with white wine and capers for the meat. Our sides were, roasted red potatoes and sweet potatoes and broccoli, along with their house salad. We could not have been more pleased with the food. We did not have alcohol at our wedding so I cannot comment on the bar. However, we had soft drinks and the bar service was great. STAFF AT HENDRI'S: Dan was wonderful to work with throughout the whole process. There were times in which I was frustrated with him, just because of uncertainties he had; He just could not give me a straight up answer sometimes, but other than that it was a great experience. Mara was the one we worked with during our rehearsal and the wedding day and she was very accommodating to our needs. They also provided the flatware, glasses, table clothes, plates, and some of the table decorations. It was great to have a venue that provided the location, some decorations, and catering because it just made things so much easier for us. THE BANQUET ROOM: Do not be scared away by the outside of the building or the location. When my husband and I first visited Hendri's, my first thought was, why did we drive all the way down here for this? However, when we walked inside we were pleasantly surprised. The beautiful woodwork, brick wall, and lighting added the perfect touch to our pictures. Because we got married in December, they had a Christmas tree set up too. This also added a nice touch.

From the first time we saw Hendri's ballroom we were hooked. Not only does the checker floor make for beautiful pictures, the staff are helpful and friendly. The owners are unbelievably helpful and can answer almost any wedding question from ceremony to reception and beyond. 5 stars for sure. Got endless compliments on the environment as well as the food. Can't go wrong with Hendri's.

We felt like we got a great value with Hendri's. Dan was nice to work with since he always has lots of great ideas. I would warn though that he's not the best with emails and I was the one doing most of the contacting regarding meeting up and setting the menu. He was always nice when we met though and made my job a lot easier. We paid a little more to have the water service, and it was definitely worth it. We even seemed to have a woman who was just in charge of the head table since she was there so much checking on us. My grandmother brought her own wine and the bartenders remembered her every time. She didn't even have to ask. Overall, we would definitely recommend Hendri's.

Planning process went smooth. Dan and Maria did a great job making sure all of our bases were covered. Responses could sometimes be a little slow, but I know I'm not the only client they currently have so I give them some credit there. I'd give them 4.5 instead of 4 if that were an option. We had stationary appetizers and a buffet dinner. Everyone thought the food was great. I, as the bride, of course hardly ate any, but what I did eat was good!

We used Hendri's and are so glad we did. Dan (the owner) and Ryan (the point-of-contact) went the extra mile to make our day special! I didn't get to eat very much (what I had was great), but all of my guests kept and still are telling me how great the stuffed chicken and roast beef were! They even made me a signature drink free of charge! They were fantastic and I'll be using them again! Thank you for everything Hendri's! :)

We used Hendri's to cater our sit-down dinner reception of 220 people at The Sheldon Ballroom. Dan Hendri is very nice and offers complete flexibility as far as the menu, at an affordable price. However, communication style was not great - slow response time on e-mail, doesn't copy appropriate contacts, etc. I was also not pleased that they let the cake table empty, without ever cutting the full bottom layer of my cake. So in other words there were people who didn't get cake, but there was a full sheet cake sitting in the back that never was cut and served. I also sprung for a late night "hot dog bar" for guests. This would have been really neat, but the caterers never alerted the DJ to make an announcement when the hot dogs were served. So instead when the DJ finally caught wind of the hot dog bar and made an announcement, the caterers had already taken them back to the kitchen. We paid a few hundred dollars for hot dogs that no one really knew about. Pretty frustrating. All in all, I would recommend Hendri's based on food and price. Just be prepared to over communicate and reinforce instructions for serving dessert, etc.

Mara and Dan at Hendri's were AWESOME! Not only did they take care of the planning and execution of my reception and cocktail hour, they planned and put together all of my floral arrangements. They were very down to earth, friendly and more than willing to lend a hand.

Dan at Hendri's was very helpful and willing to work with our budget. They even threw in some extras! And their food was super delicious! Better than any other wedding food I've had.

We utilized Hendri's for drink service and plate rental-not their traditional role. They had exemplary service and product at an exceptional value. We loved working with them!

Hendri's was my dream come true! The look and feel of the banquet hall was, on it's own, exactly what I imagined for my reception. From the black and ivory checkered floor, to the original wood pieces and the fire place, it all helped to create the warm and inviting atmosphere I wanted for my guests. The additional touches I added with Fall decorations just pushed it over the edge to perfection. I have to admit, when I first drove up to the building I was a little nervous because the outside, although quaint and clean, did not look like much. When I walked into the hall, I was in love! Everyone from Dan, to Mara and Maria, and the staff who worked the night of the reception, were unbelievable! There was not one question unanswered, not one idea dismissed, not one suggestion ignored. On the contrary, they offered so much assistance that my stress level about the execution of the ideas was little to none. When I mentioned I wanted to display my beloved grandma's wedding dress and that I was having a hard time finding a dress form, Mara came to my rescue. She not only let me borrow one of hers, but let me take it to the church as well. I met with Maria on the Wednesday before my wedding to drop off the decorations and she basically said, "Don't you worry about a thing. We will take care of the rest." They did all of the decorating and the room was a vision....BEAUTIFUL! During the evening, there wasn't one thing I needed, as the staff continually approached me to see if I was OK and ask if I needed anything. My husband told them in passing, during the planning stage, that I like O'Fallon Pumpkin Ale. During my first trip to the bar, I was presented with an ice-cold Pumpkin Ale. The little things attended to by the owners and staff of Hendri's all added up to a night my husband and I will never forget.

Hendri's has been a favorite of our family for years for past events. Hendri's looked absolutely amazing when we walked into the venue. We had chair covers with sashes which looked great. The bar service was wonderful and everything seemed to go as planned. Dan and his wife were wonderful to work with and the setup process was painless. So accomodating and personable.

"Best reception food I have ever had!!" This is a quote I have heard so many times after our wedding, that I've lost count. Nothing they serve has ever been frozen, how often can a catering co claim THAT? HIGHLY recommend this company, they are literally the reason I needed a venue that let outside catering come in, SO worth it!!

The food was SOO good and Dan was very helpful with us keeping in our budget. I appreciated his flexibility so much. I got so many compliments on the food and service too.

Hendri's was wonderful!!! Their food was amazing! Everyone raved! They were also very affordable and they were great to work with. I worked closely with Dan who was very helpful and informative! I recommend them to everyone!!!

Hendri's was the only venue we looked at for our reception and I do not feel that we lost out on other locations at all! The price was phenomenal for everything we received. Hendri's has only ONE room so it is not your typical banquet facility. We didn't have to compete with other weddings or parties, so our music wasn't overpowering for the evening. The gas fireplace is wonderful and a nice focal point of the room. My dad and his friends posted themselves at the bar that uses glasses, not plastic cups. The black and ivory checkered floor goes well with any decor, along with their black and ivory linen options. They recently started offering black chair covers with ivory bows at an extra cost of $1 per chair. The china was also a must for my parents, husband, and myself. Dan and Marla (the owners) are absolutely wonderful to work with and easy to contact. We visited the location several times during our two year engagement. Dan came up with various ideas for us to use to make our night special and unique. He suggested we bring in Gus' pretzles for our guests to munch on before leaving and they allowed us to bring in our own lamb (another Bosnian tradition), yet serve it for us on the buffet line with the other 2 meat options. They allowed us to bring in my dad's favorite scotch to serve only to him. They even placed all of our decor on the tables (besides the flowers) and boxed everything up at the end of the evening and allowed my mother to pick it up the Monday after our wedding. Finally, the women's restroom completely sold me on the venue as it is not your typical 3 stall restroom. The women's restroom branches off into 3 individuals rooms with its own toilet and sink, so it was easy for me (the bride) to use the restroom because I didn't have to cram myself, a dress, and my friends to hold the dress in one stall.

The family is very sweet to work with, patient and worked with us on a different chicken dish than is on their menu. Food was great, a few communication issues but everything can't be perfect.

The food was delicious. There was fireplace where we could take pictures. The staff was very helpful.;The venue is not that large.
