Heritage Hunt Golf and Country Club

utiful but needed to hold more than 200 people... which is not easy. We were having a traditional Indian reception and there are a few venues who host them ALL the time. We wanted something different, a venue that his family and friends haven't been to over and over again. We booked Heritage Hunt for several reasons: the elegance, the high ceilings in the ball room, the golf course views, nice outdoor space off the dining area, the build in stage, big dance floor, and the welcoming and accommodating staff. We booked both the ball room and the separate dining area for cocktail hour and reception and it made all the difference. Having the separate cocktail hour and food area made a huge difference and gave us room to separate the dinner from dancing. Carrie and Kara were also amazing to work with! Kara met with us several times to go over details and made sure the day-of ran as smoothly as possible! Taking photos out on the golf course was also a plus (and I know our photographer loved the views)! We forgot a few things the night of and Kara made sure to keep them save in her office for us. Another HUGE plus was the private space we got right next to the ball room. It was big enough to hold our close family and friends and was the perfect space when we needed to get away, shove food in our mouth, or chug back a few drinks. I highly recommend Heritage Hunt if you are looking to host a larger party in an elegant and beautiful space.

The venue is so elegant, and it offered a beautiful space outdoors for our ceremony, a specific place for our cocktail hour with access to a balcony and a spacious, elegant reception ballroom! (The place was not crowded and the dance floor was also very spacious). Kara was our wedding coordinator for the first 8 months, and was always very timely in answering any questions we had throughout the planning process. In addition, she scheduled a timely tasting with the chef to choose our 2 entrees. She was very patient, knowledgeable, trustworthy and kind! About 2 months before our wedding, we got introduced to Valerie, who actually ended up being our wedding day coordinator. Valerie and Kara were present on our final meeting, where we highlighted every single little thing for our wedding day. They took care of the rehearsal day practice, the rehearsal dinner at the Marsh Mansion, which we chose to do and the wedding day coordination. Although our wedding schedule was off due to some rain (In May), I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Valerie did an amazing job during our wedding day, she would always come and check on us while we were getting ready, and she also gave me updates about vendor arrivals. She also was running around to make sure things were flowing as scheduled during the wedding, and accommodated last minute requests very smoothly. Our family and friends were so pleased with the service provided, the dinner and the venue, and we still up until today receive many complements! My husband and I are pleased to recommend HH for your wedding!

Kara worked with any requests we had and helped us make our dream wedding come true. I am the type of person that typically likes to do stuff on my own but the day of the wedding, having Kara as the day of coordinator was a breeze! If I had dreamed the wedding, it could not have been more perfect!! Everything ran extremely smoothly and I didn’t even lift a finger or have any worries throughout the night. The kitchen staff were all very sweet to work with and the food was incredible and came out in a timely matter for all guests. I would absolutely recommend this venue to any couples out there looking to have an amazing wedding. We had the ceremony and reception on site and could not be happier with our decision to work with them!

s Kara's professional, enthusiastic, can-do attitude that persuaded her to have her wedding there. At every turn, Kara was there to make the vision come true. The weekend began with the rehearsal dinner in the gardens outside of Marsh Mansion, an antebellum estate on the property. We had use of both the grounds (cocktails and dinner) and the interior (slide show and dessert), and it was beautiful. The food was fantastic - far beyond our expectations of typical mass produced appetizers and buffet food. Everyone staff member that we interacted with was professional and courteous - from the ground and set up crew, to the wait staff, caterers and bartenders. The wedding posed a challenge, as the bride's heart was set on getting married on the lawn outside of the clubhouse. However, torrential rain that day dictated that the ceremony would be moved inside. Kara and crew converted the already set ballroom for a sanctuary wedding, and upon dismissing us to the dining room for cocktails (a great spot with fantastic mountain views from the covered patio), reset the ballroom for the reception. The transition from outside to inside and ballroom to wedding venue was seamless! I'm still amazed at how they pulled this off, seemingly without effort. The food again exceeded expectations! All of us were very pleased with the quality and quantity of the buffet and the appetizer selection. Again, the staff and particularly Kara, were only so attentive to our wants and needs. The venue is beautiful for both small and large events. This is the third (with a fourth scheduled later this month) event that I've hosted at Heritage Hunt. The same level of professional and friendly service was offered at the small corporate retreat that we held as it was for the wedding. Kara is truly a gift to Heritage Hunt. Not only does she have a lot of expertise in event planning, she is a pleasant and calming presence - something bride's and their families greatly appreciate! In working with her for these events, we've gotten to know Kara quite well, and our admiration for her both professionally and personally continues to grow. The food was amazing, all of my guests said it was the best wedding food they had. The dinner service was done quickly, and efficiently and no one had to wait for refilled trays or for appetizers. The wait staff and bartenders were extremely friendly and very willing to help. If I had to do it all over again, I would have my wedding here any day. A ++

We knew after researching a bit that we wanted an “all-inclusive” type venue that would provide all the food, alcohol, furniture, linens, ceremony space, etc. Turns out, these are hard to find!! Heritage Hunt is 2 hours from where we live, but came with everything we wanted in a venue, and at a more reasonable price than others we considered. The best part though was that it not only came with everything we wanted, it came with KARA. We had no idea what the role of a venue coordinator was and figured that she would just be there to help us line up and tell us where to go, but she ended up being one of the best parts of our entire wedding experience. She was so fun and easy to work with, answered a million questions for us in the months leading up to the wedding, and with the help of her assistant, Valerie, put out all of the (MANY boxes of) decorations we brought for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception while we were busy getting ready. They completely read my mind and made our vision come to life, and even added a few surprise touches that they thought we would love (and we did!!). The rest of the staff was just as friendly and wonderful during our reception, and the FOOD was amazing! Finally, we were given a list of recommended vendors at our first meeting that really helped us select a lot of our vendors. One even gave us a discount because of how much he loved working at Heritage Hunt! We felt like we had the total dream team of people on our wedding day helping to make it beautiful, fun, and memorable. Thank you for the best day ever!!

The grounds and facilities are really clean and beautiful. There's so many options, outdoor spaces, photo spots right on site, great cocktail space, additional private rooms for getting ready and VIP, and best of all, that amazing banquet hall. Worried about the weather on your big day? It rained nearly all day on my wedding and the facilities were so great I could almost forget it rained all day after the fact. The room was one of the only ones large enough to accommodate our large number of guests and had a large dance floor to match as well as a stage and projector for any special projects you'd want to incorporate. Not only did all our guests fit with stretching room to spare, but all our vendors, from photo booths, videographers, photographers, etc., had room to set up and stretch out, too. Other venues advertised up to 300 guests and we'd show up for a tour and there was no way. You don't have that problem with Heritage Hunt. And what's the one thing that can really make or break a wedding reception? The food! After 2 months my guests are still talking about the amazing food. You can try all their amazing choices for free when you set up your reception menu and there wasn't a bad item on the menu. They have great package deals, alcohol, buffet, or the route we went, fully plated. It was amazing. All the staff was absolutely professional and they worked great with all our other vendors and support as well. Cannot recommend highly enough. You won't be disappointed.

The staff at Heritage Hunt, especially Kara, the Catering & Event Coordinator, made the planning and execution of the wedding reception seamless. We had all of the usual last minute requests, need for additional space, additional unexpected guests, special meals requests, complicated center pieces, etc., etc. Kara was unfailingly accommodating, professional, calm, and pleasant. Kara and her staff didn't just do everything she promised, they went above and beyond in ensuring that everything was as we expected and more. We were all actually able to enjoy the reception, not worry about things going wrong. We are still getting positive feedback about the reception, and not one complaint.

the last minute, but the staff didn't get ruffled in the least. They quickly adapted the venue for the change, and nobody seemed stressed or panicked. The fruit cups that came with the kids' meals were great! It was a large portion and all of the fruit was fresh & colorful--a beautiful presentation. All of the food was tasty. The staff who passed the hors d'oeuvres did a great job. Wine was served with professional precision during the meal. The entire staff was pleasant and courteous.

Also, Thamil (I'm sorry if I misspelled it, she is the banquet manager) she was amazing too the day of my wedding. We had a situation during the wedding reception, but Kara and Thamil dealt with it amazingly! I would highly recommend anyone looking to get married in the area would take a look at Heritage Hunt. They are so reasonably priced, which is saying a lot with the competitive wedding venues in the Northern Virginia, DC area. They listen and are willing to work with you no matter what situation!

sales staff was wonderful and I was assured all the details would be taken care of, not to worry. Then the day of the wedding things went down hill and never got better. A week prior to the wedding we met with the sales coordinator to finalize floor plans, the menu and a walk through of the room for decoration placement. She was great! She wrote everything down, assuring me I did not have to come in the morning or the wedding to decorate and that the staff will take care of all the little details, well that never happen not even close to it. She was quick to send over 3 versions of the floor plan with all the details on them. I made modifications and they were great at accommodating them. Well so much for having a floor plan, they never used it and I doubt they even looked at it. The day before my wedding I decided we would need to go with plan B due to the forecast for rain. The morning of our wedding my family broug by decorations to the venue and hoped and assist with placement. When they arrived at 11:30-11:45 (we were told the room opened at 10 and tables would be in the correct spots by noon) the tables were not in the correct sponts according to the floor plan, linens on buffet & DJ tables were the wrong color and by no means properly dressed. No on was around to speak with and when they did find a person they just handed the girls table clothes and never said a word. Upon calling to speak with the person in charge of my wedding she informed me they had two weddings in the past two days and were a little behind. The dream wedding I envisioned never came to fruition never ming the countley hours spend planing and the money spent to put it together. From not serving one of the items we listed on the appetizer buffet menu to the bridal party not recieving drinks or appetizers upon arriving at the venue all aspects of this wedding were below standards. The staff did not attend to the large picture let alone the details I was assured they would. When we finally did we got beverages it was 3 platic cups of ice and 4 bottles of soda for 6 people. We were directed to the garden to take photos prior to our arrival announcment. Upon returning from photos we were locked out of the bridal room and my daughter had to find someone to let use in. Feom a room that was nothing like the floor plan we discussed to a staff that seem not to care this day was far from magical. I am sad to say the following week (after I posted a review), the sales office called and thank me for the review and said they would use it as a "training" scenario. That was the best they could do?! So, if you want your wedding to be used as a training scenario of what NOT to do, then this is the place for you. If not I suggest you keep looking.

She always responded so fast and was able to fulfill any requests we had. On the big day she was able to get us and our bridal party where we needed to be on time. The food was great- we had pork medallions and crab stuffed flounder. We planned our wedding from Florida so we wanted a venue that was going to include everything (tables, chairs, catering, alcohol, etc.) so we had less vendors to worry about and Heritage Hunt was great for that. Our wedding day was perfect and I would highly recommend Heritage Hunt!!

into my day of wedding "coordinator." She was giving tours to futures brides as I and my maid of honor were setting up the place cards, escort cards, menus ect, ect. She was no help to me at ALL and left my wedding reception without even checking on me once or saying goodbye, even though it was stated on my contract that I would have a "day of wedding coordinator." I had been in contact with TWO wedding coordinators in a span of 12 months and had explained to them everything that I wanted and need for my special day, which was a total waste of my time because at the last minute the sales representative became my day of "wedding coordinator." I spend over 3 HOURS on our last payment meeting going over what I needed and wanted for my wedding. This was something that was discussed in depth with my previous TWO wedding coordinators. Needless today the FEW things that I had requested from them were NOT DONE! For example something so simple as, bring the ceremony flowers inside for the reception was never done. My guests who were sitting on the last table complained that their food was over 45 minutes late. I had a formal sit down dinner which cost more and I expected that all of my guest would receive their meals on a timely manner. I called a month after my wedding was over and complained about the service, my sales representative/day of wedding coordinator never got back to me. She even said "the general manager was present," that's nice because he/she never approached me or my husband during my whole wedding ceremony. Way over priced for such crappy service!! I would give it ZERO STARS!

our 170 guest as they all arrived together at 4pm. They had signature cocktails ready and many guests remarked that the hors d'oeuvres were delicious. The Great Oak Ballroom is fantastic! Our guests were spread out at tables of 8, with plenty of room. The dance floor is very large and the stage was perfect for the 10-piece band. The chicken marsala and char-grilled salmon entrees were excellent. Everyone loved their meal. We were very pleased with the service and the wedding photos outside and inside are gorgeous. Great place, great service, wonderful Wedding Day!

n guests started sitting where they weren't supposed to and grabbed extra chairs, they took requests and bought specific alcohol that we wanted to add, they constantly checked to make sure we were happy and everything was going well, they made our night wonderful, etc. etc. Completely professional and knowledgeable. The staff changed from when we started our planning to the day of our wedding and the transition was smooth! They allowed us to create a unique ceremony set up (circular) and were willing to work it out with us to make it look great! The only thing that bothered me was that I was under the impression we were allowed to take photos on the golf course (which we didn't end up doing)--we wanted to take one picture on the putting green and even asked to borrow a club from the club house and they said ok--then someone yelled at me out the door "Hey you! Watch the heels!"...that was a little startling. ---Besides that I would say not one hiccup and I would recommend them to anyone! Rehearsals, ceremonies, reception, everything!

Kimberly went out of her way to make sure my decorations were set up and ready for my event to start. When the bridal party arrived, Kimberly again went out of her way to make sure they had everything they needed and that they event ran smoothly.

I am craving it right now! :) The staff was also so amazing to work with. Leading up to the wedding they were so helpful, the day of they helped set up a ton of stuff - they really took over and ran the show for us. I can't imagine having my wedding at another venue! I 100% recommend this venue!!!!

The food was delicious and the staff made sure everyone was satisfied throughout the evening, even bringing my groom and I our drinks so we didn't have to go to the bar. We recommend this venue to everyone.

Definitely a great experience for the price - I paid around $16,000 in total for 125 guests with sit down plated dinner, open bar, and cocktail hour stations - but guests guessed we paid double that. The cost was very reasonable compared to other places we looked at and the landscape was really nice.;If you are having the ceremony at Heritage Hunt as well talk to them about the back up plan in case of rain. Luckily we had a nice sunny day and the space for the ceremony outside is beautiful. Which is good because we weren't crazy about the back up plan for rain. So make sure you ask them about it and are ok with the area inside for the ceremony.
