Was supposed to get married here September 2020. In my 16 months working with them leading up I had 5 different coordinators none of which ever knew anything about my wedding and the details. Three months before my wedding I decided to find a new venue because that was easier than dealing with how awful of a venue this was. This place was so unorganized and I would never recommend anyone to use this venue.
I had my wedding and reception at heritage shores and I was not disappointed. Venue is beautiful, the staff is great and Jacki will guide you through the process.
Absolutely horrible. Had our wedding there in the summer of 2016 , the venue was beautiful, ballroom was beautiful, but the staff was horrible. Very few of our requests were met. Food was amazing when we taste tested it, come wedding day, it was mediocre at best. The staff was the laziest and most incompetent crew I have ever encountered. For the amount of money spent on the venue and their services, it was a complete waste. This is not a cheap place, all of he promises made prior to the big day we’re completely overlooked and regarded as a non priority. They made it seem as though it was their event and we were only guests at their show. If all you’re looking for is a pretty venue than this is your place. If you’re looking for a full package than definitely look elsewhere.
We held our wedding at Heritage Shores this past May. We truly enjoyed our special day at this beautiful venue. We had a couple small bumps in the planning process but Heritage Shores was very accommodating to listen to our suggestions and open to help us have the very best wedding we possibly could. The food was delicious and the wait staff was excellent. The management at Heritage Shores is excellent.
We were debating booking Heritage Shores or another venue and boy are we happy we went with Heritage!! Jessica and Chelsea went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make our day magical. They remembered every single thing we wanted from every little conversation and made it happen! They made our dreams a reality... I can't say enough good things about this place. The food was great, everything was organized, and the staff was extremely helpful and kind to my guests. I would highly recommend this place.
I had my wedding at this venue and my friend also had her wedding at this venue. She warned me about all of the issues she had with this venue and the staff but I went ahead and gave them a chance anyway. Since I am a type A, very organized person, the wedding went super smoothly. Otherwise, they don't help you to plan your wedding. During the time I was married, my wedding coordinator switched 3-4 times back and forth between 2 people. Many important details went miscommunicated or missing due to these switched. This was extremely stressful during the wedding planning process. I went to the venue 2 days before my wedding and, by accident, stumbled across tacky yellow chair sashes stored in the back room. I asked if they were for my wedding and they confirmed they were. I told them that it was far from the color I ordered through them. They tried to do a rushed order of the correct color however, the color I had chosen was SOLD OUT. Here I am, as a bride, screwed over 2 days before my wedding on one of the MAIN colors of my wedding. I had to make a last minute main color change 2 days before my wedding. You get the point. The food was AMAZING at the tasting and mediocre at best during the wedding. This was the same thing that happened to the food at my friend's wedding there. During the reception, staff members cleaned out the bridal suite (When they said they wouldn't do this until after everyone (including me) had left the building for the night. They threw away my husband's letter to me that he had sent to my suite before we walked down the aisle. They also threw away his wedding gift to me. They "never found it". This was one of the worst mistakes they could've made. The evening of my wedding was finally coming to an end and it was time for the grand exit for me and my groom. The staff had written instructions, were reminded constantly, and were reminded AGAIN on the wedding DAY to NOT forget to hand out the ribbon wants to guests for the grand exit. Since I had to gather my belongings, there was PLENTY of time for the staff to get the ribbon wands and hand them out to guests. Instead, they forgot. My sister-in-law made a mad dash to the back room to grab the ribbon wands and handed them out to EVERYONE. You are never able to get your wedding day back so make sure you pick an awesome wedding venue with COMPETENT staff who aren't lazy, unorganized, and forgetful. These memories will last a lifetime.
We attended a wedding of a friend here two years ago and knew the food was amazing. Naturally, this was one of the venues we looked at for our wedding day. The instant we left our initial meeting, I cried as I knew this was the place. The venue is a beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony and reception. We were completely taken care of from the moment we met Stefanie at our initial appointment right until our wedding day. The level of service provided by the staff of Heritage Shores is truly unparalleled. Stefanie and Jillian were both so professional and overly accommodating to any questions or requests that we had. The dinner staff was amazing and kept our meals fresh and warm in the kitchen until we were able to sit down and actually eat. One of the younger female staff members was even kind enough to assist my bridesmaids with the bustle of my gown. Stefanie and the staff went above and beyond to make our day special. They did beautiful job setting up all of our decorations and bringing my vision to life. I didn't have to do a single thing the day of the wedding! When we came back the next morning, everything had been put in a room and locked. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants to have the best wedding day of their lives!!!
Heritage Shores was the best venue I could have asked for. I chose to have a Sunday wedding, so my cost was slightly lower than most weddings. However, Heritage provided food as well as the ceremony and reception space. I had an event coordinator (Jillian and Stefanie) work with me until the day, and an included day-of coordinator.
I loved every minute of our day at Heritage. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating all day! Beautiful location!
The service here is amazing - Stephanie and Jillian are fantastic and so very helpful. Everything was so organized and made our day go so smoothly.

If you've dreamed of all these things, you are in the same boat as my husband and me when we searched for the perfect venue. Heritage Shores provided everything we wanted at a decent price - the outdoor ceremony with gazebo, the gorgeous indoor ballroom, friendly staff, flexibility that allowed for dialogue between us and the venue. I have nothing negative to say about Heritage Shores!
Wonderful place to get married1 staff is very helpful and accommodating. Very friendly and calm atmosphere. I had no worries they took care of everything on my wedding day. They made my day beautiful!
My wedding was on 8/27/11 (right before Hurricane Irene). I was given the go ahead to have the wedding by the GM, but they requested that I move the ceremony time. They kicked us out early (even though we had a DelDot manager there giving us weather updates the GM apparently thought he knew everything!), kept our food, the staff was rude and all the nice managers and planners took an awful turn. My ceremony timeline was ripped apart, my pictures were cut short, I rented over $500 in ceremony chairs that were not used, I paid $600 for unlimited sodas that even when our time was cut short we did not get a refund for. This place is a COMPLETE waste of my $11k and I wish I would have went with my first choice, Baywood!
Now that my wedding is over, they are no longer nice! I had to leave all my stuff at the venue and now have to take another trip to Bridgeville to to pick up everything.
The staff locked the doors before we were even done getting our stuff out! The place is beautiful, but not worth the $$! I DIDN'T EVEN GET THE PICTURES I WANTED!
The food tasting was 1000 x better than the actual food at the reception!
THEY TURNED MY $25+K WEDDING INTO THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!!! PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU USE THEM, I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO HAVE TO EXPERIENCE WHAT I HAVE!
BEAUTIFUL venue! Helpful and fun staff! Very flexible for your needs and very reasonably priced! AWESOME food! Minimal trouble with sparkler send-off as they had our sparklers lit before guests went outside and they were all burned out for our exit. Overall a wonderful experience!
Good friends of mine were married there this past June 2010. While the setting was beautiful, the staff were extremely rude and the food was awful. There were a few people who received the wrong dinner at our table and when one of them very politely and discreetly informed the waiter that he was allergic to seafood and had received the wrong plate, her exact words were, "well what do you want me to do?" "we don't have any other plates left so..." We were all shocked because not only was that rude but she was loud about it. He asked her to go check and see if there was anything else he could have and she told him she was too busy and that he needed to go to the kitchen himself!
I really hope that this experience was one of a kind but from that, I know I would never recommend this place and it was definitely crossed off my list of possible venues for my own upcoming wedding.
Heritage Shores was amazing! From the courteous staff to the beautiful location we couldn't be more pleased with the venue. The food was delicious and our guests have been nothing but complimentary. It even rained so we were forced to have the ceremony in the ballroom and the staff was amazing making the "switch" from ceremony to reception. Debbie and Stephanie are very professional and were a great help with coordinating with local vendors. We compared H.S. to other local Golf/Country Club venues and were blown away by the value for the price.
