My wife and I really enjoyed working with the staff at High Point. Jessica was our primary contact who handled the majority of the communications with us. The main aspect we loved about High Point versus other catering vendors we reviewed was that High Point was incredibly flexible when it came to the packages they offered. We started with a specific package, and if we wanted an item from a lower package or to add on an additional cocktail item, they were happy to accommodate us. That sort of flexibility was really valuable to us when considering what our guests may want in terms of food and the volume of dishes. Also, after our wedding, High Point gave us all of the leftovers, which we weren't expecting. So that was nice! It’s been a couple of weeks since our wedding, and we still have so much risotto left! Haha. Overall, we’d definitely recommend High Point for anyone currently looking for a caterer for their wedding!

High Point Events & Catering catered my wedding and did a phenomenal job. First of all, unlike many other caterers, they did a free tasting, which I really appreciated. Second, their staff was incredibly helpful, accommodating and patient with the numerous changes we made to guest count and the menu. (thank you to Jessica for putting up with all the emails!). And perhaps most importantly, the food on the day of was still excellent. Let's be honest, bulk cooked food for 100+ people is never going to taste as good as what you get at a tasting, but this was close as you could ask for! The Texas beef brisket was still so tender, flavorful and juicy, and the Peruvian chicken was similarly juicy and not over cooked (and chicken is so easy to and so often overcooked). All the desserts were also excellent but the bread pudding especially was amazing. We heard praise from numerous guests about the food especially about the brisket and bread pudding! And throughout, the bartenders and serving staff were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. On top of all that, the price was very very competitive. Nothing went wrong and we could not have asked for a better wedding caterer. Would highly recommend!!
We used High Point for our Aug 2020 wedding and the knocked it out of the park. They were very knowledgable about COVID safety protocol, they were responsive and helpful in the weeks leadng up to the event, and their staff on the day-of could not have been more friendly or professional. Most importantly, our guests loved the food. We pulled together an at-home wedding in 6 weeks and we couldn't have done it without their professionalism and guidance. In that time they did a site visit, a tasting, and tons of work getting our proposal just so. I hope I can use them again in the future. A+!
I can't speak highly enough regarding the service Christa and her team at High Point Events provided for us!
My husband and I decided to do one of their BBQ buffet options--our guests were raving about how delicious everything was! It's also an extremely affordable option for couples who are trying to save money in their wedding budget, especially compared to other catering services provided in the DC area .
Christa and her team also went the extra mile to take care of us and made sure that we had nothing to fret over the day of our wedding while we were busy getting ready. They made sure we had plenty of food and drinks throughout the evening as well! Our wedding and reception went off without much of a hitch, and a great deal of that was thanks to the team at High Point Events.
When my husband and I were considered caterers for our wedding day, we really wanted great tasting food for our friends and family, but we also wanted to work with a caterer that would match our core values. High Point did just that!
When I filled out the contact form online, I was surprised to get a phone call from the company President just minutes later. Bob's attention and care for what we wanted on our wedding day and what would work best for us put us right at ease. Then we met the rest of the planning and catering staff, and everyone was so friendly and confident in their gifts to make this a complete experience and one to remember. Based on the reviews from friends and family, it surely was! The food was excellent and the staff was so friendly and easy to work with. But High Point went above and beyond by helping us work through details that had nothing to do with the food (including, day-of coordinating, scheduling vendor deliveries, timing wedding party entrances, and the like)...they even worked quickly to cool our outdoor seating before guests arrived (summer heat in this city is no joke).
In all, we have nothing but gratitude for High Point Events and are so glad we met them. I would also keep them first on my mind when planning corporate or personal events too! They are an absolute joy and you'll certainly treasure this experience!
Pros: The food - We had a BBQ buffet at our wedding and all of our guests loved it! Professionalism - On time, prepared, very helpful, great with cleanup.
Con: They add a mandatory "event planning" cost to your contract. This gets you a day of coordinator, but it doesn't seem to be optional. Upside is that you definitely want a day of coordinator, downside is you don't get to pick your own.
We had a Farm wedding with bbq buffet style dinner plus passed and station hors deuvres. Everyone at High Point Events was so helpful. They helped out with any detail we asked, even the day before the wedding when we realized some details we would not have time for. They were extremely attentive throughout the night and assisted us throughout our entire wedding planning process, offering help and advice throughout the entire year from recommending our DJ to providing us with helpful documents and tips for wedding planning. I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for great and reliable service.
High Point did a phenomenal job at my reception. We needed a company that could setup and break down everything, plus provide food and beverages. The food was great! Jennifer and Christa were both great from the first tasting all the way to our special night. I really felt very taken care of.
I would definitely recommend this company to anyone that I know planning a wedding or event.
When first introduced to High Point Farm and Catering, we booked right on the spot. The setup of the pavilion plus the beauty of the gazebo, made us fall in love with the venue. We were invited in to meet with our coordinator (T) and to enjoy some of the options for our food. At the meeting, T gave us a delicious sample of their brisket, pulled chicken, baked beans, and corn bread. T gave us 10 minutes to eat and discuss with my now husband. T then came back in to discuss a general plan from here on out. We left the meeting with the idea that things would get rolling in about 6 months.
Three or four months had passed and two or three emails sent, and no word back from T. My husband had heard from a family member that T had been fired. My husband then contacted the owner with the concern that we had not heard from anyone. Later that day we received a phone call saying C would be our new coordinator. Why wasn't this information passed along to us sooner? Being the proactive people that we are, we asked to set up a meeting with C. This meeting took place very similar to our previous one. At this meeting along with C, we met G, their sales coordinator. G came in to discuss other possible options, including switching our site from C to D. We asked him for the pros and the cons and he kept insisting that site D is better for us than site C. We asked him why he wanted us to switch and he mentioned he wanted to be able to book site C during the day. We were told that only one event would be happening at one time (meaning we would be the only event). Being the flexible people that we are, we were okay with switching to site D. A few days later, my husband met G at site D to start planning. At the time, site D had a 30 foot by 60 foot cement patio. G promised that the patio would be increased to 40 feet by 70 feet, and a tent would be permanently place over the patio by early spring.
Over the next few months, my husband took a couple visits to site D and nothing had been done to the site. This started concerning us a bit. When contacting C about our concerns, we were assured that everything was right on schedule. Our wedding date was July 12th and come June 12th we hadn't heard much from High Point. We decided to take a visit to site D and to our surprise it looked exactly like it did in February. This concerned us even more. Again, we were assured everything was right on schedule. The stress levels started to increase. On June 28th, we received an email from C asking us if we could meet on July 2nd to start things rolling. As we drove to site D we were expecting to see a bigger patio with a tent on top, and to our surprise, when we arrived it looked the same as our previous visits. Again, the stress levels increased. We were assured everything would be set up and ready to go by July 12th. At the July 2nd meeting, we were informed that another wedding would be happening at the same time as our wedding at site C. We were blown away! Not only were we told we would be the only event, but that we would have to share a bathroom trailer with the other wedding. Our guests needed to walk to site C, through the tree line, to use the bathroom. We were appalled. We were not okay with this and opted to pay an extra $600 for our own bathroom trailer.
On July 12th, the tent was set up, the patio was bigger, the food was delicious, and C worked her butt off to make sure everything ran smoothly. We spent $1600 more than we wanted to, but all worked out.
Our first adventure out to look for locations, we met a rep from High Point. They had food tasting going on, and everything was delicious. We decided to keep their card and look around since it was our first day.
From then on, EVERYONE glowed about High Point Catering, pretty much everywhere we went. So, we contacted them, took a look at their menus and loved the options. We put in for a quote, went for a tasting and then handed in the deposit immediately to secure them.
The food was delicious! The staff were so helpful and friendly to everyone there. And it was so easy to work with them from start to finish, even when we through curveballs at them like, "So we're going to have a 8 colors in the wedding and we want the reception to match it!"
You will not regret your decision to work with High Point! Jocelyn, Geoff and everyone at HPC are great and will help you to have a fantastic wedding!
