If you want the perfect wedding day that runs absolutely flawlessly with zero stress, excellent communication, and perfect execution, hire Brenda and her team. They were there every single step of the way. Any time I was feeling minutely stressed, a quick conversation with Brenda hade feeling calm, relaxed and more than prepared. Her entire team was so calm, cool, and collected throughout our entire day.
With a downpour of rain being 400 yards from the venue, I had no idea because Brenda handled it and was ready to go with our backup plan at a moments notice. When our florist got into a car accident, Brenda was willing to send her team on a 45 minute car ride to personally pick up the flowers. I’m telling you, Brenda and her team made sure we had every question answered, every detail planned out, and that the entire wedding day and night ran effortlessly. Even my bridal party made comments about how smooth everything ran compared to other weddings they’ve been a part of or have attended.
I am so thankful for the Hill Country Planning team. Our wedding was the wedding of my dreams and would not have been possible without them.
I cannot say enough great things about Brenda! I was having issues with the first coordinator I hired and ended up having to let her go 3 weeks before my wedding. I then hired Brenda and she was a LIFESAVER !! She pulled all the last minute details together for us and was a huge help on the day of our wedding. She made sure that everything was on time and that my husband and I had everything we needed at all times. She was AMAZING! My only regret was not hiring her first.
We were highly disappointed in the services provided by Hill Country Planning. Not only did they not contact any of my vendors prior to the wedding-- they were an hour late on my wedding day. As listed in their contract of services, their job is to make sure everything runs smooth for the day-of, arriving after 1PM for a 6PM wedding does not help to achieve this at all. Not only was I left organizing all my girls for hair and makeup, I was also answering questions for all of my vendors because my coordinator didn't do as promised. Oh and also decorating for everything :/
We had guests arriving that were not directed to be seated- but instead were allowed to go into the reception hall & start ordering drinks (where the wedding party and myself were all waiting for the ceremony- so people saw me before it ever started). Amazingly the ceremony went down fine, but as we had discussed, nobody was directed to help move chairs following the ceremony to the reception so my husband & his groomsmen had to go out to direct the crowd instead of getting to spend time with me and our bridal party.
During the reception we were served our plate of food, which was nice. Outside of that the timeline was an absolute hot mess. Chairs & tables were supposed to be cleared out after dinner for the dance floor which never happened until I instructed them again to do. Our DJ was informed to NOT PLAY ANY MUSIC while we took our sunset photos (we didn't know this until we returned- definitely NOT ideal for a party).. we were probably gone at least 45 minutes. I had to coordinate the bouquet & garter toss- our coordinator was busy swinging on a porch swing playing on her phone. We chose to do smoke bombs for our leave, so one would assume that they are dispersed to our wedding party and lit at the same time before we walk out. But no, our coordinator was lighting them herself and throwing them on the ground in front of us as we walked. Not quite the exit I was expecting. And to top it all off, after returning to the reception about 10 minutes after our FAKE leave-- we were told our wedding coordinator was kicking everyone out of the venue and said anyone not staying on site had to leave in 15 minutes. It was absolutely ridiculous & really, I don't even know how to convey my disappointment with the final straw. The ladies were nice... outside of that I would not say that they're capable of running the show.
This is not at all what I expected having to put up with on the most important day of my life. I can honestly say it was still wonderful- but only because my bridal party was fantastic and helped to run the show. I strongly encourage anyone considering Hill Country Planning to really do their research first. I had to pay $1000 up front so I'll never get any money back, I just hope I can help another bride from having to go through such a terrible experience.
I cannot say ENOUGH WONDERFUL things about Brenda Sealy and her team at Hill Country Planning! My wedding got rained out and moved inside totally. Hill Country Planning jumped into action! They set everything up, reassured me continually that everything would be fine, and stayed in constant communication with me! I couldn't have asked for a better day-of-coordinator than Brenda! She had all of the wedding day timeline completed weeks before the wedding, all my vendors lined up, and made sure the resort took care of anything I needed! I couldn't imagine my big day with out Hill Country Planning!
Hill Country Planning is (almost comically) unresponsive. After securing Brenda's services with a downpayment, we tried to get in touch with her regarding basic questions and straightforward requests without response.
One (also comical, but quite unethical!) note. We asked Brenda for some hair recommendations and she pooh-poohed every salon in Boerne except Simply Serene Salon & Spa. Interestingly, and without any disclosure, she just happens to be the General Manager there! How did I find out? When I popped in a few weeks later and saw her working behind the counter!
We found Hill Country Planning very unprofessional and will no longer be using their services for our wedding day. It's disappointing and has caused undue stress in our planning process. Brides beware!
Brenda is the best wedding planner and we are so excited that we got to work with her. I will tell all my friends and family getting married to use her and it wouldn't have been the same without her.

My wedding was at the Happy H Ranch in Comfort,TX in May of 2012. It was amazing! From the ranch to all the coordinating that was supplied by Hill Country Planning and the owners....all the pressure was off and made for the happiest, most memoriable day of my life!
