Hillary and Emily are truly dream makers. I’ve known for YEARS that I wanted HJE to plan and design my wedding and was so exited to get started working with Hillary. From our first happy hour conversation I knew she would not only plan the wedding of my dreams but also would be a sister for life. She got me right away and everything she designed was me to a T! She went above and beyond to add touches of personal details no one else could have ever thought of that were so special and specific to us as a couple and to our families. Every meeting and the entire year + of planning was magical. It was full of laughter, love, sisterhood and creativity. She helped keep me on track, organized and was transparent about my vision from the get go. I could not imagine planning my special day without Hillary or Emily, they have truly become family. Hillary was the visionary and everything she touches turns to gold. Our destination wedding in Colorado was overwhelming at first but once we started working with these girls the stress and unknown turned into a calm excitement and I trusted them 10000% every step of the way. Emily is a logistics/organizational genius and took care of every detail for the away wedding weekend to ensure our guests were well looked after and taken care of. Everyone says “it will be a day you’ll never forget, it all just falls into place” and that couldn’t be more true because of Hillary and her team. Our wedding exceeded my expectations and truly blew my mind because of Hillary. I love her and Em tremendously.
I really do not have the words to summarize the wonder and beauty of Hillary J Events!!!!!!!!!! Hillary was there with us every step of the way, making sure that I felt supported and was that she never more than a text away for any question big or small. She helped bring my design ideas together perfectly to create the most spectacular wedding day I could’ve ever imagined and truly brought my vision to life She made sure we we’re always kept on track, perfectly organized and never stressed.
Don’t even get me started on the wedding day!!!!! I literally had a MASSIVE SMILE on my face from 6 AM until the after party ended because Hillary‘s team was there with me to make sure I had the absolute perfect day and I did not have to think about a single deal. Hillary took overall communications with my vendors a few weeks out so that I never even knew about any logistical challenges only had to answer when I was needed. She made a perfect timeline for the day so that we were never rushed or stressed and we truly had the most seamless day I could’ve ever imagined!!!
More than anything, Hillary treated me like a best friend rather than a client. She established trust all along the way, so that on wedding day I was able to totally step out of the details and be fully present and focused on my family, friends, and my groom. Literally everyone I spoke with told me that I was the happiest ride they had ever seen, and it is all things to Hillary and her amazing team (shout out to Caroline and Emily who were both with us on our special day…. Even rushing me to the bathroom one minute before I walked down the aisle!!!!!). I am so lucky and immensely grateful that I got to work with Hillary and her team and would recommend her to ANYONE. It is difficult to put into words how wonderful of an experience it was working with Hillary J Events for my wedding. With a relationship starting over a year in advance of the wedding, Hillary and Emily listened to every thing that made my then fiancé and I tick and helped us curate an unforgettable weekend. As a bride who wanted to be very hands on with the planning, Hillary and Emily were gracious in letting me be involved. However, I would completely trust in letting them work their magic if I was not looking for a high level of involvement. Hillary was able to help match us to a vendor team that best suited our style and goals and was very open to collaborating with new vendors! It is safe to say that any wedding planning process will come with difficult conversations, tough decisions, and obstacles, but the Hillary J Events team helped navigate and focus on the outcome… the start of a marriage!
Each and every detail that Hillary and Emily planned and executed (with the help of Caroline weekend of!) was spectacular from special surprises to ideas dreamed of in meetings over cocktails. The best compliment I received from a guest was that it was incredible to be in a room that reflected our personalities and emulated the love and happiness my now husband and I feel for each other.

Hillary is the absolute best wedding planner ever that truly goes above and beyond! After our first initial conversation I knew I had to use her. Before I even signed any contracts, Hillary was already getting to work and contacting vendors for me. That’s how you know this isn’t just a job for Hillary, but it’s her passion to make dreams come true. My engagement was a quick six months, but she didn’t let the tight timeline get in the way because every detail was planned to a T and she even remembered little things I mentioned in our first few meetings and incorporated that into the wedding day. Going into wedding planning, I was so nervous I wouldn’t be able to let go and enjoy the process, but I quickly learned to fully trust Hillary and that she had my best interest at heart. My wedding week was truly stress free which is so important and I know that’s is due to Hillary and her team. Her assistant, Emily, was fabulous too! I cannot recommend Hillary J Events more!!

From the very beginning, she was honest about what to expect through the process, even when she was learning on the fly as the pandemic continued to evolve at the beginning of our wedding planning journey. She was flexible working with my husband and I while we lived 3 different states, and listen to my families priorities and designed a wedding and team of all-star vendors one could only hope for.
The greatest thing of all was how Hillary was the friend I needed on wedding day. She made me feel comfortable when I started to feel nervous and even taped up my foot when my husband of 30 seconds stomped on my foot walking back down the aisle.

Hillary is the best. We are still over the moon as to how wonderful the wedding was. Due to pandemic times, my daughter and her then-fiance opted for a 24 month engagement. Hillary was with us throughout. She is creative and has a style and positive energy that truly enhanced the planning experience. She is familiar with so many venues in St Louis and has phenomenal vendor relationships. I also appreciated her wedding planning/budget software. That was a bonus that kept us on track. And on the Big Day, everything flowed smoothly. Wedding guests noted that the ceremony and music were touchingly beautiful; and the reception venue sparkled and reverberated with a joyful energy. I attribute the success of the day to an incredible team effort among Hillary, the other vendors, the bride and groom and the parents. The family could truly enjoy the day, knowing that the guests were having a wonderful time and Hillary and her team had everything under control.

Where do I begin? First, I was clueless about planning a wedding. My daughter Erin was my first. Second, I have a very demanding job, and so does my daughter so we did not have time to make the wedding planning our full time job. Third, Hillary is a delight. period. Finally - the details - Hillary is a pleasure to work with, no question was a dumb question (we had a lot). She immediately adapted to Erin's style, taste and Erin's vision. There were some "must have's" on my part- and Hillary made sure all were met! Her prompt replies to calls, texts, emails were perfect. She stayed within our budget. My husband (who wondered what even a wedding planner did) was incredibly impressed with how she helped him the day of the wedding in terms of her unbelievable itineraries and time lines (he even gave her a shout out in his FOB speech:)). I could go on and on and there is not enough space. Suffice it to say we met Hillary less than 2 years ago - she will plan any party/shower of mine moving forward and we are friends for life!
Hillary and her staff provided a most seamless organization of the my daughter Christina's wedding reception. The accolades we have been receiving is testament to the invaluable service HJE provided. We were impressed that HJE were able to curate, tailor, and create weddings that felt so personal to each couple, and we were absolutely thrilled with the process and outcome of our wedding with HJE. I cannot say enough great things about the level of service and care that Hillary and her team showed my family throughout our wedding planning process. Not only did they show extreme support to ensure the event was successful, but she showed attention to each member of the family personally – something that was very much appreciated!
Hillary stepped in early on in our process to provide great insight into navigating the COVID wedding planning world, opinions on how to build out the best vendor team, and ideas to make our event one of a kind. Hillary took the time to learn how each of us operate and catered to those individual preferences. Coming from someone who likes to be in control, this was very valuable and important to me. She listened to the top concerns and priorities from my parents, as well as my fiancé and I, to be sure that those areas were more than covered. Hillary knew that logistics, band, and sound were of the top priority to us, therefore she did things like arrange for extra meetings with the band to be sure that these areas were successful.
Hillary scheduled frequent touchpoints with both myself and my mom to jump right in on planning. Hillary set us up with options on vendors to give us a leg up on pre-vetted teams which she had worked with in the past. Our vendor team was truly top notch, which we owe to Hillary. During these frequent calls, Hillary would be simultaneously following up on action items, sending emails, and corresponding with various vendors so that we did not have to. Often, I did not even know that this communication was done until it was finished.
If anything went wrong day of, I don’t know about it, which is a true testament to Hillary and her team, keeping calm under time crunches and solving issues quickly and quietly. The HJE event team took pressure off the entire family to allow us to enjoy the weeks and days leading up, as well as the full wedding day.
Our guests continue to share with us that our reception was one of the most beautiful they had attended, which is something I can guarantee would not have been possible without the HJE teams’ attention to detail and design. From the floral, to the rentals, and coordination with the venue, the design and execution was seamless and beautiful.
All in all, the HJE event team made our day what it was, and we are so thankful! Thank you, Hillary, Caroline and team!
Hillary was recommended to us by our photographer (Shannon Duggan) when we booked her. I was the person who wanted something simple and didn't think I needed a planner. After we booked the venue (Dogwood in the Grove) it became very apparent that I'm not good at planning anything or describing my vision. I then booked Hillary and it was an instant connection. She was kind, passionate and incredibly talented. We described our vision and had a few non negotiable requests but the rest was left to her and her team and it was the best decision we ever made. She became a friend during the year we worked with her. She consistently had the most amazing ideas. when the reception came and we walked into the venue, to say we were floored in an understatement. It was exactly everything we had hoped for and throughout the entire night she made everything work in the background that I didn't even notice. She made sure were fed, happy and had drinks the entire night. She is a gem and we truly feel so lucky that we were able to work with her. I could probably write a novel of how amazing her, Caroline and her team is but this is my summary.

Planning a wedding on short notice (and during a global pandemic) was stressful to just THINK about. However, I am so lucky that my life path brought Hillary into my life. Her professionalism, creative mindset, attention to detail, and her big beautiful heart helped me plan my wedding and gave me one of the best days of my life. What’s even crazier is that we were doing everything remotely….and it all fell perfectly into place the day of. Not ONCE did I stress about any details on my wedding day- because I knew Hillary already took care of everything and my big day was in the best of hands. I didn’t have an exact vision or plan, which wasn’t easy… but HJE allowed me to ‘brain dump’ all my thoughts, likes, desires and ‘Pins’ to them and they took it from there. Hillary and her team were AMAZING! We had hired Hillary and her team about 6 months out from our wedding as a day-of-coordinator and it was the best decision we ever made! She went above and beyond her title of "day-of" and was helping in the planning process a few months out! She made our day so seamless and any hiccup we found, she was on top of it! We love Hillary and her team so, so much!

Hiring the HJE team was the best decision! Hillary made all of our wedding visions come to life. We were living in Florida and planning our wedding in St. Louis. I thought it would be extremely stressful, but Hillary made every part of the planning enjoyable. She is bubbly, positive, organized and direct. She made sure everything was done exactly how I wanted it, but also gave me choices based on my color scheme, vibe and thoughts to make my vision better. Hillary helped me pick the BEST vendors in St. Louis to make our wedding magical. From the moment we met with her, Hillary was enthusiastic, organized, and attentive. Her responsiveness was nearly immediate on every question or task (even when I sent her SOS texts at 1:00am), which made it easier for my husband and I to plan a big wedding with busy work and school schedules. Hillary untangled all of the random design ideas in my head and brought my vision to life. She helped me decide every little detail - from choosing my wedding day perfume and gifts for our parents to the color of my bridesmaid dresses and our table linens. And she is extremely well-connected in the St. Louis wedding industry, so every vendor recommendation was top-notch.
Due to some extended Covid-19 restrictions, we had to change both our ceremony venue and our rehearsal dinner venue the day before invitations were scheduled to go to print - Hillary took it all in stride and never let me see her sweat. She worked out every single detail so that Plan B was even better than Plan A. Most importantly, I knew I did not have to worry about a thing on wedding day, and Hillary made sure that I always had a glass of champagne in my hand!
We feel so fortunate to have worked with Hillary, Caroline, and Katie, and cannot thank them enough for bringing our dream wedding to life.
The team of Hillary J Events is nothing short of spectacular and other than saying "YES!", the best decision of our entire engagement and wedding! While pivoting from a large wedding and reception in St. Louis to a 30 person intimate week in Kiawah Island was challenging for me to manage as the bride, Hillary could see every important detail in the new setting with just a little southern charm added to it. Her focus and commitment to discovering each couple's "most important details" was reflected in the final design of the ceremony and reception that was everything we had dreamed of. She had a way of creating a unified vision from different thoughts and pictures that unburdened me as the bride. Anyone can pull down Instagram and other inso photos - it truly does take an expert in event design and planning to execute the dream on your biggest day! Every ribbon, every plate, every flower, and every linen was nothing short of perfection - without Hillary and Caroline, I do not believe this would have ever happened. Their vision, efforts, and just support in planning a wedding, in general, are an investment I would make over and over again. It was a joy and a saving grace (boo, covid!) to work with Hillary last November. Toward the beginning of our planning process, Hillary was a helpful resource in connecting us to vendors, reaching out to others in the industry to help answer our questions, and giving us advice/suggestions from her past experience (while making sure they were unique and special to us as a couple). Under the most pressured of circumstances, Hillary and her team remained poised, handling each challenge and decision with grace. Hillary exceeded all our expectations. I was not sure we really needed a wedding planner as our venue provided one. However, I quickly changed my mind after our 1st meeting with Hillary. We could not have navigated thru all the details without Hillary’s guidance, contacts with vendors

A review really cannot convey how wonderful Hillary was to work with. We hired her for full service wedding planning and she was amazing. She was so creative and works with the BEST vendors in St. Louis. Our daughter's wedding had to be moved from a country club to a tent at our home due to Covid. Suffice it to say, this was no easy undertaking and plans changed on a weekly if not daily basis. It was stressful, but the end result was truly spectacular and having it at our home was so special and meaningful! We could never have done it without Hillary and her crew. They all went above and beyond anything we could have imagined and we are so grateful!
Hillary is THE BEST!!! Hillary can be as involved or uninvolved as you want. We originally thought we just wanted a planner for day of stuff in St. Louis because we had already found our "big" vendors. When we had to pivot to our "Plan B" wedding and have a micro wedding in Colorado I called Hillary in tears explaining how I couldn't imagine replanning a whole wedding three months out and doing this without her. She was quick to accept our invitation to Colorado and immediately started planning the entire thing and found every vendor (which was difficult in a tiny resort town in CO!) I didn’t lift a finger after our big STL wedding was cancelled which was a life saver and made the entire process stress free during this extremely stressful year! Every single detail of our Plan B wedding was absolutely perfect, and all the things I never knew I wanted! That's because Hillary makes sure to get to know the client for exactly who and what they are so she can make your wedding day reflect exactly what you want and need. It was an honor and a privilege to have Hillary as an essential part of our wedding day, and I wouldn't have had it any other way!!

Like most couples getting married in 2020 the global pandemic changed our original wedding plans. Our date was a grey area month since it wasn't early enough to be cancelled and not late enough to have our original guest count.
Hillary was by our side every step of the way. She talked through multiple iterations of plans with us given the ever changing stipulations and rules, gave us options we didn't know we had because of her expertise and knowledge , maintained our vendor relationships, and made it seem... as easy as a covid wedding could be.
Although she was able to adapt to the new normal of planning, she isn't just a great planner for pandemic times... her real strengths were obvious from our first meeting. She genuinely cares about every one of her couples and believes that everything they "think" or would "wish" to have should be their reality.
Hillary appreciates and executes each intricate detail that makes your wedding planning experience as it should be, exciting. She communicated consistently and effectively with every vendor, had fantastic recommendations when we needed help, and truly was the expert that we needed in this process.

I contacted Hillary to coordinate a baby shower for my Niece (and her friend). The theme was cherries and gingham and when I say it was AMAZING, IT WAS AMAZING! She was recommended by our venue (Haue Valley), and throughout our wedding planning process, was always of immense help and positivity. We planned our wedding during Covid, and unfortunately had to end up calling it off, but in the months leading up to it, Hillary was there every step of the way. We had Facetimes when in-person meetings were not possible, and despite the fact that we were procrastinators, we truly felt all ready by the end and were able to make plans relatively stress free. After we made the difficult decision to cancel our wedding due to Covid, Hillary was gracious enough to offer us a partial refund and supportive of our process throughout. I have no doubt that she would have been an incredible helping hand on our wedding day. Highly recommend to anyone planning a wedding or event! Hillary is the sweetest person and is exactly the type of planner you need to feel organized, creative, and excited about planning an event!
I hardly have words to express my gratitude for my girl, Hillary! As many in 2020, my husband and I's wedding was affected by Covid 19. I was a ball of anxiety and full of tears. We initially canceled our large ceremony with hopes of getting married in October, but quickly realized we wanted to have a small ceremony on our original date in May. Hillary helped us every step of the way, and continues to as we plan a reception for ... who knows when. Hillary was there to help us throw together Plan A, Plan B, Plan C,... andddd Plan Z and did it all with a smile and positive attitude (which I did not have at the time). She answered my texts, phone calls, and facetimes no matter the hour and no matter how many times I'd already called her in the day. Now, we look back on May 30th with smiles, laughter, and SO much love for the simplicity. I cannot recommend this sweet but mighty positive force enough! Throw Hillary and challenge and she will exceed any expectations you may have.
Unfortunately, my fiancé and I had to reschedule our wedding due to Covid-19. Although we won’t be able to have Hillary there for our rescheduled date (it’s a small destination wedding), she has continued to check-in and assist with the planning. She has already done 12+ months of planning with us, so her continued support is really above and beyond what her contract required. We postponed less than a week before, so pretty much all of the planning had been done. Had we been able to have the wedding, there is no doubt in my mind that it would have been perfect. Hillary is extremely organized, professional and frankly just fun to work with. She has great taste and had so many fun ideas for how to make our day unique to us. She handled every issue with professionalism and always knew what to say when I was stressed. I was very lucky to have her, especially once everything with Covid-19 started. Whether it was sending us a date night gift or a care package when we had to postpone, we could feel that Hillary genuinely cared about us and our wedding. I was the mother of the bride and to be honest, I'm not sure my daughter and I could have planned a wedding by ourselves, let alone in the midst of a global pandemic. When forced to re-think plans due to COVID, Hillary was up for the challenge and quick to take charge!
Throughout the planing process, Hillary was everything one wants in a planner- she was quick to respond to calls and e-mails (PLUS she was always up for meeting in my person which is my personal preference), she was professional in how she communicated with vendors, she brought up creative ideas that still honored my daughter's wants yet weren't ideas we would have thought on our own, and she respected our budget, which was incredibly important to us.

I would imagine each of us has been professionally impacted by COVID-19 in one way or another, however I've never seen anyone handle the pandemic quite like Hillary. Hillary and I had 14 months to plan a wedding, however we were left scrambling when the pandemic hit just three months out from our wedding date. She ensured we would not have to sacrifice anything and that our wedding could still be as sentimental and special as ever! I will be forever grateful for the vendor connections she made (flowers, photography, music, venue), the constant communication she delivered (online and via text), and her (champagne) bubbly personality that always brought me out of any dark days. She is a boss babe, an accommodating hostess, and an amazing friend who will not let you down!

My experience with Hillary was beyond what I could have imagined! We first met with Hillary prior to nailing down a date, a venue, etc. and had the most wonderful conversation about our goal. Our goal was we wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and just have a good time! We didn't want a single person to feel like they had a task to remember day of. Throughout the decision making process, Hillary was so helpful! We struggle with decisions, which she caught on to quickly, so she made our job so easy by providing simple, easy to digest tasks and decisions little chunks at a time. She made wedding planning FUN and not a chore for both my fiance and me! You can forget what your goal is throughout this process because there are SO many decisions, conversations, events, etc. leading up to the big day, but Hillary did NOT FORGET our main goal. The day came and everything went so smoothly! All the other vendors were shocked how calm, cool, and collected our entire group was! It is 100% because Hillary set us up to enjoy ourselves so we literally did not have to worry about a single thing! I know we found Hillary through a wedding website, but we already cannot wait to hire in the future for other special family events! I hired Hilary during the final month before my wedding. She is an absolute sweetheart and it is very obvious that she is passionate about what she does. Not only did she help me with final details that I was missing that last month, but she was there the day of to bring us breakfast, help set up, and make sure the day went perfectly! My only regret is that I didn’t hire her sooner! She even brought me honey from her family’s farm the morning of because I was sick...so sweet!! Wish I would have had more time with her!
Hillary was unbelievable. We managed to plan a wedding for 180 guests in the fall in under six months together. She was a tremendous resource to a nervous bride to be with little to no experience in the wedding industry.
Hillary was able to connect us with great vendors, both in advance and when we were on a time crunch. She also had multiple options which was nice. Always good to have a small pool of credited options when you’re making so many decisions at once.
She is extremely timely with her turnaround regarding questions big or small, and I had a LOT of both! Hillary was also great at taking the reigns so to speak when tasks started to pile up, especially toward the final stretch.
We couldn’t have had the magical day we did without her. She was calm and present and allowed my news husband and I to enjoy our day without worrying about any of the behind the scenes logistics.

When I first started planning our wedding, I did not want or think I needed a wedding planner. After my friends and family telling me it would be a good idea to have one (and I'm so thankful they did), I was late to the show to look around for a wedding planner and I was worried on finding the right person with only a couple of months left before my wedding. What a blessing it was that Hillary was available on my date!
From our first phone conversation, Hillary made me even more excited for my wedding day and immediately took some weight off my shoulders. She keeps very detailed notes and asks all of the right questions for vendors and "day of" timeline so you have nothing to worry about!
One of my favorite things that Hillary did...My fiancé and I (now husband) wanted to be apart of our cocktail hour with our family and friends. With all of the excitement and mingling we did not get a chance to enjoy our wonderful appetizers! When we got to our seats for dinner, what a wonderful surprise to see a plate of our appetizers right in front of us that Hillary had set aside for us! It's the little things :)
Also, one of my min concerns was keeping to a schedule at the reception...making sure guests were seated at an appropriate time, speeches got started, first dances were performed, and there was plenty of time left for dancing. Hillary took care of it all and everything went according to plan! I, as a bride, was so relieved to not have to worry about this.
