Hilton Boston/Woburn

My husband and I got married at the Woburn Hilton and unfortunately would not recommend. Although the food was great at our reception, the Hilton’s wedding coordinator was nothing but horrendous. She had no knowledge of the Hilton and appeared to have no wedding experience. We had many negative experiences with her, including receiving a phone call two weeks before our wedding from her asking us what time our wedding starts and what we were quoted because “she had no idea”. She also sent us our wedding detail less than two weeks before our wedding and most of the information was incorrect. At that point I called the Hilton and spoke with a supervisor who ensured me that they would speak with her and promised our wedding day would go smoothly, which did not happen. The wedding coordinator also had no social awareness. For an example she viewed a photo of my husband and I from years ago and made a comment on our weight. She also continued to ask me where my dad was and when told he wouldn’t be at the wedding she continued to ask until she was told he was deceased. Then at the rehearsal for the wedding she continued to ask again where my dad was in front of my family and then asked again on my wedding day. During the wedding set up, hours before the wedding, and the following day she was no where to be found and would not answer her phone creating chaos. When we would get her on the phone to ask questions like where we should bring the cake, she would respond she did not know and we should find someone from catering. We also found out the day after our wedding that she told the staff to throw out some of our personalized items including champagne glasses and cake cutters. The list goes on and on including issues with our wedding room block, coordinator had no idea how to run a wedding rehearsal, she sent everyone down the aisle to the wrong songs on my wedding day after I gave her the exact timing, she never booked the wedding suite for us to get ready in as she promised and instead we had to book and pay for multiple rooms the day of the wedding to get ready in ( she then showed up an hour before the wedding telling us we needed to leave rooms due to check out times), lack of communication, during cocktail hour asked me to send her a copy of the seating chart because she didn’t have it, told us our cocktail hour would be blocked off which was not true resulting in hotel guest ruining our guest book etc. I did speak with the Hilton after our wedding; only for the fact I did not want anyone else to experience what we experienced. I did not receive anything in return from them and I solely wanted to make them aware of our experience and the stress this person created for me and my family. My purpose of this review is to share our experience to avoid anyone getting their special day or event ruined. I would also like to again say the food at the reception was great. We did have an amazing server named Tarik who knew more about weddings than the actual coordinator. We had an after party at the Matadora and their manager Zack was fantastic

Our planning process had been a rocky road with the Hilton. Within a fourteen month time span we went through four different event coordinators. Each time having to make sure that our plans/orders were being followed from the previous coordinator. A month prior to the wedding we met our savior, Beth Rolfe. She put us at ease and made us feel extremely comfortable. She went above and beyond the call of duty. The Hilton Boston/Woburn is truly a beautiful hall but Beth and the staff at the Hilton are really what made our day so special.
