We loved having our wedding at Hilton Oak Brook Hills for our South Asian wedding. The staff are very responsive and well-versed in managing multi-day, detailed events. Special thank you to Victoria who was the planner through Hilton. Thank you!
My fiance and I are only in the touring process, but wanted to send a warning out to couples considering this venue. Our event coordinator was extremely rude, condescending, and dismissive when we attempted to set up an initial meeting to review their different packages. I'm not sure if she was irritated or just should not be in a customer-facing role, as she was cold and harsh with my fiancee and his parents. We will NOT be booking this venue; it would be terrible to have to work with her for the planning process
We used the Hilton Chicago Oak Brook Hills as our hotel block for our wedding in June 2022. The complimentary block offered a 10 room minimum and 20 room maximum with a cutoff date 8 days prior to the event. Unfortunately, we assumed the hotel would have a 3:00 check in time since that is what we typically see, however the Hilton has a 4:00 check in time, and our ceremony was scheduled for 4:30. It was an error on our part, but unfortunately the Hilton was not able to provide early check-in for our guests, though they did offer to hold luggage for people who arrived early. We rented the Deluxe Suite for our bridal suite, and it comfortably fit 8 ladies and two hair/makeup stylists. The hotel was quick to bring up stools upon request by the stylists, and the little ones in attendance definitely enjoyed the pool. Due to inclement weather, we were unable to take photos at our outdoor venue, and we ended up capturing some beautiful shots in the lobby without any apparent concern on the staff’s part. We were hoping to dine in the sit-down restaurant for breakfast the next day, but with other wedding parties present (as seems common with the season) it filled up quickly, and the on-site Starbucks had very limited food options and only one staff member working. Overall, it was a nice, if pricey, hotel with fair amenities and an excellent back-up photo spot if necessary.
It was a pleasure to work with Mike Teed on our Daughter’s wedding a couple of months ago. Mike not only understood the importance of the day but he was absolutely involved to ensure that the wedding went off as smooth as silk. We were delighted by Mike's professionalism and ease to work with. I highly recommend if you are planning a wedding to work with Mike. He was awesome! Thanks Mike and the entire team that made it a real memorable day for us! Truly appreciated
My husband and I recently got married at Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort on November 7th. There were many changes with COVID, which was initially extremely overwhelming. Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort continued to reassure me that everything was going to be ok and that we were going to move forward with our wedding as safely as possible (which was another thing I was worried about). The resort also worked with us with any changes we had within our contract due to the pandemic.
The day of our wedding was beyond our expectations. The staff was responsive and quickly solved any problems/questions we had. They also made sure our guests were feeling safe and comfortable, while also filling up their drinks throughout the night! Between Mike Teed, Taylor Siwula, Willie, and Cornelius they made our dreams come true. Highly recommend this venue - especially The Marquis Tent!! The blank chandeliers in pictures are just gorgeous! ;)
We booked our wedding in one of the ballrooms in August and everything was great! Leading up to our wedding they gave us a coordinator Jayne. She was very nice however communication was not the greatest. There would be times I would need to send multiple emails to her and she would always reply later on saying it fell into her junk folder. A few wks leading up to the wedding she did get better I would say. The suite they comp you in was great for hair/makeup in the morning and a fun after party! The best part of our Hilton package was they have a very long open bar- they don't shut down during dinner. We also had fun creating our signature drinks during cocktail hour. The one issue we experienced was dinner service was really delayed. I think it was about 30 minutes after they picked up salads when guests finally got their dinner. Due to this delay guests were starting to walk around to other tables and it got a little loud They also were behind on vendor meals which delayed our speeches. Overall, the food was amazing, the size of the ballroom was perfect and we were really happy with everything. I did hire a wedding planner so that helped a ton with the planning. If we had to do it all over again we would pick this venue in a heartbeat and maybe request a different coordinator
We got married at the Hilton in October 2019. We had a beautiful wedding, and there were many things we liked about the venue. But there were a few things that caused stress leading up to the wedding and on the day that I want to share for other couples who may be considering it as their venue.
First, the pros:
- The hotel is beautiful. It was recently renovated and is very well-maintained. The grounds, lobby, hotel rooms, and banquet rooms are all beautifully appointed.
- The location is great. If you are looking for a place in the western suburbs, this is a true gem. It’s not too far from the city, and it’s a bit set back in a very picturesque area.
- The catering/food is definitely a cut above other venues I’ve been to in the area.
- We were able to book the outdoor patio for cocktail hour, which was a highlight of the day. The weather was great that night and our guests loved being outside on the lovely grounds.
And now, the cons:
- Our sales manager told us two big lies while selling us on the venue when we first came to see it. We probably would have selected this venue had we known the truth anyway, but it really gave us a bad impression when we found out (after we signed the contract) that we had been blatantly lied to.
- His first lie was that they would not book a second wedding in the adjacent ballroom. We booked ballroom F-J, and we knew there would be a partition between our party and another party. I was concerned about noise transferring through the partition wall, and he assured me that they would only book other types of parties on the other side but never a wedding. He explained that the other party might be a retirement party or corporate event and sound would not be an issue. Well... of course they booked another wedding there, and sound WAS an issue. It didn’t ruin our night, but during our speeches and special dances, we heard loud pumping base from the music of the other wedding. It was disappointing, and it bothered us even more knowing we had been lied to about the set up of our room.
- The sales manager also told us we would be assigned a day-of coordinator as part of our package. This was not true, either. We had an event coordinator who was our point of contact during our planning process (which you would get at any venue, obviously), but we had to hire our own day-of coordinator separately. I am not sure why he would lie about this, but again it was disappointing when we found out the truth.
- Our event coordinator/point of contact at the venue was very hard to get a hold of. She was very unresponsive to emails, and it often took 2 or more tries to get a reply of any kind. She was very nice, but I got the feeling her workload was too heavy to give us the attention we needed.
We had an amazing wedding, and we don’t regret our venue choice. The truth is, there aren’t many venues of this quality in the area that can accommodate a larger wedding (we were 225 invited, 180 attended). But the cons I mentioned did add unnecessary stress, and I wish we had been treated better for our once-in-a-lifetime event.
Could not have been better
Missy was an absolute star planning our wedding in Sept 2018. Despite working with 2 physicians with packed schedules who also just so happened to move out of state 3 mo before the wedding, she had every last detail taken care of. We didnt have time to sit down and plan out minutia and we certainly didnt have time for any mistakes. Missy took care of us from day 1. She knew all the questions to ask and delivered on everything she said she would. She is also incredibly kind and a blast to work with. We grew so close to her we wanted her to be part of our actual guest list and were pretty sad when the wedding was over. Everyone should have Missy coordinate their wedding.
Our wedding at the Oak Brook Hills Resort was beyond perfect. Every guest we (and our parents) have talked to since our wedding night gave us rave reviews - the venue was beautiful (we had our ceremony in the Marquis Tent and reception in the ballroom), the staff was incredibly friendly and responsive, and the food was delicious. It was everything we could have asked for and more.
The Oak Brook Hills Hilton was the perfect venue for my July 2nd wedding in the marquis tent. From the first day I viewed the venue working with Laurie, to the day of our wedding working with Jayne, everything went perfectly! I have nothing but fabulous things to say about the entire staff, venue, and overall reception. Jayne, our event manager, made sure every detail was discussed prior to the event so that our fairytale wedding could become a reality. She went above and beyond for us, which made our reception that much better! I have received SO many compliments that the food was the best wedding food my guests have had, and the late night snacks were to die for! The pictures with the golf course as our background were beautiful. I would highly recommend having your wedding reception at the Oak Brook Hills Hilton!
Oak Hill Wedding venue is amazing! Becky and her team have literally thought of everything to customize your wedding and make it perfect. My guests have given me so much positive feedback and many have said it was one of the best wedding venues they have ever been to and I have to agree!
Oak Hill Wedding Venue offers so much, your guests will not be trapped in a stuffy banquet room waiting on dinner, they offer so many activities and experiences that your guests will not even be able to take it all in! I highly recommend using Cindy Wicker as your caterer, you will save by not paying table wear rental fees AND your guests will be treated with an amazing economical gourmet meal! Becky and Cindy make a fantastic team and work well together.
Oak Hill Wedding is the perfect wedding venue and the staff at Oak Hill will work hard and give each bride the constant attention they need to make their wedding a success. If you’re thinking about booking your wedding at Oak Hill, stop thinking and book it! If you don’t book it now, someone else will!
I love the Hilton Oak Brook, primarily because of my Wedding event manager, Sheila. She is the best. The sales staff is also great. The service staff at the event is not as competent. The front desk forgot to give out my welcome bags as they returned several to me that I accounted for but the hotel was great at compensating me for their mishaps. It's a little bit pricey but well in the price range for the area. The food is by far the best I have for hotel catering. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and it's newly renovated. This is definitely a place to throw a party!! Thank you Hilton.
The great benefits!
1) 2 nights free stay in a 1k suite. A great place to get ready in the morning and a cost that can add up quickly at another place.
2) Woking with the staff, they were helpful.
3) Booking and room blocks, they were flexible when a last min add a week before was needed, (granted it was open) was also able to get room block rate for Thursday if needed. Very nice.
I had 241 people attend, so it was actually a great cost effective, but expensive wedding.
4) Get the soup for your guests!
5) Food was great! Worth the price
Not so great...
1)The minimum! With $25,000 Food and Drink minimum + 29% tax, the minimum adds up quickly over 33k!
It rained... so cocktail hour was not on the golf course... it was in a crowded hallway for 241 people and it was tight!
2) Apps skewer of chicken satay, chicken teriyaki are $3.5 each! ( But delicious and worth it) (Would also recommend the fruit and cheese displays)
I could not have picked a better venue for my wedding and reception! Jayne was my planner and went through every detail in the weeks before. She has all the bases covered, even things I had left out and put my mind at ease knowing everything was taken care of so I could really enjoy the events leading up to the big day. My ceremony was outside and reception was in the gorgeous marquis tent. The hotel and grounds are absolutely stunning and provide the perfect background for amazing photos. The bars and restaurants are great for guests to mingle in between the ceremony and reception and the food is DELICIOUS! What really made the day here was the staff. The front desk is accommodating, the lobby and reception bar tenders are amazing, and thanks to the chef the food was incredible and everyone has been raving how good it was! Jayne had everything throughout the whole day in place and wait staff all around were just perfect! If you want to have a gorgeous ceremony/reception and really enjoy every bit knowing things are taken care of, then this is your place. Its only one day and thanks to everyone there it couldn't have been better and I wouldn't change a thing!
It is because of the entire staff at the Hilton Oak Brook Hills Resort that my daughter had the most amazing day of her life.
I have heard nothing but compliments on just about everything from the beautifully manicured grounds, front desk staff, lobby bartenders, Waitstaff, Conference service on the set up of the ceremony and banquet room, the lighting and the food!
The extra surprises were unbelievable and brought tears to my daughter’s eyes!
And a personal thank you from the bottom of my heart to Jayne. Because of you, I actually was able to relax and enjoy the entire day! You are the best of the best and I can’t thank you enough!
We had both our ceremony and wedding reception at the oakbrook hills resort! We couldn't of been more happy! The resort went above and beyond to make our experience and wedding day perfect! Jayne was our wedding event planner and she was outstanding! Our event caterer during the dinner and reception was amazing! They made our dream wedding come to life! I truly felt like royalty! Everything we wanted and asked for we got! The grounds are beautiful, the food is excellent, and the service is outstanding! I would highly recommend this place to get married! We had our reception in the marquis tent. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful the wedding was and how it was the best wedding food they've ever had! We couldn't be more happy!!!!!!
Executed a flawless reception!
Food was excellent! We had a luncheon and I was very pleased with the value, quality of the food and setting and the service.
My daughters wedding reception was incredible! It was in the Marquis tent at Oak Brook Hills. We could not have asked for a more perfect day. From the moment we met with the Resort Event Coordinator through the night of the wedding reception we couldn't have asked for more. They made sure we were completely satisfied with every aspect of the day. Always attentive and responsive to all our needs and requests. The guest that attended the wedding reception are still complimenting the venue and the exceptional food. The cocktail hour provided plenty of appetizers and drinks. No guest had to look for someone passing appetizers (this was important to us). There was always someone walking by with a tray. The dinner was amazing. Great taste and the portions were perfect. The midnight snack buffet was also delicious. Our guest were leaving very full and giving many compliments. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Oak Brook Hills Resort for your event.
Having my wedding at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott left our guests feeling like they went to a first class wedding. The venue is gorgeous, the food is amazing, the staff is incredibly helpful and responsive and most importantly they were all so good at what they do I felt like I could have fun at my wedding and not worry about the details running smoothly. they took care of everything and got it done right.
The Oak Brook Hills Marriott is so impressive and centrally located. There are many things for guests to do which makes it perfect for someone with guests from out-of-town. Unfortunately, I had to request for a different wedding coordinator from the resort due to my original coordinator not being very accomodating. (I later learned that that request had happened a few times before). After I was matched with a new wedding coordinator, it was smooth sailing! The price per person is expensive; however, the food is good and your guests will be talking about it all night. Had my reception in The Marquis and ceremony on The Marquis patio and it turned out wonderful. The grounds are gorgeous for pictures, etc. so there is not much you have to do!
The view from this location is so nice and it is perfect for pictures. We were in the grand ballroom and the room is a great space for a larger wedding or if you have lots of extras like photobooths. Jayne, our coordinator, was great! She was able to do just about anything and had great ideas for room set up. The cocktail hour was outside and was very classy. They do advertise golfing for the boys the day of- however they have a lot of invitationals on the course and it was closed to the public on our wedding which was disappointing. I would recommend this venue to anyone would likes classic weddings with a beautiful setting for pictures.
Picking this site to have our wedding reception was one of the best decisions we could have made. Well worth every penny! We worked with Nancy...she went above and beyond to make sure that everything was how we wanted it to be. The room looked absolutely amazing! The hotel grounds make for some wonderful outdoor pictures. The food was really good too! Our guests were coming up to us all night to tell us how great it was!
In the beginning, I was extremely hesitant to have our wedding at the OB Hills Marriott because I had been there for multiple work events. It was hard for me to adjust my thinking and warm up to the idea, however, after meeting with Nancy Kucera the events coordinator, I realized this was an ideal place for a wedding of our size.
With over 350 guests, its not easy to find a venue. The OB Hills Marriott is a 5 star rating in ambiance, food, service, accommodations and fun!
Throughout the entire planning process, I was never told "No" or "We can't do that" - there was always a comromise made and resolution made.
Food: everyone has said it was the best dinner they've ever had at a wedding. Four Star dinner, etc. etc. Some loved the salad, some commented on the salmon, others loved the steak and crab cake - all and all every single feedback piece we've heard included a great comment about the food.
Many comments on the wine being fantastic - There were a lot of wine snobs in the room.
Our Suite: We were upgraded to the presidential suite for the night before and of the wedding. It was so perfect and acted as a great staging area for everyone.
Small details like welcoming us off the trolley when we arrived - with champagne! and waiting in our room, cheese/crackers/chocolate covered strawberries - I truly felt like a princess due to their royal treatment!
Everyone loved the brunch the next morning- it was such a hit with everyone and really made for a great party after the party. The food was amazing and the service was great.
Hotel overall as a resort is amazing and I would be happy to go into details if necessary on how gorgeous the grounds, rooms and facilities are so well kept.
Nancy is a true professional responding to all of our demanding questions and calmed all of our concerns.
She allowed us to create a signature drink and arranged a wonderful martini-tasting! The hotel gave us the ability to make us feel, amidst all of the 1000's of other guests, meetings, weddings and chaos that goes on in a hotel - that we were the most important people, will forever be a why our wedding was as amazing as it was. The folks here are a gold standard in customer service.
I live in Los Angeles and my sister in law found Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort for me and they were great in dealing with the long distance planning. They have a GREAT "tent" that's all white with pretty chandeliers so it's not a typical banquet room. We were also able to have the ceremony right there on the premises which made it really easy for our out of town guests(which was almost all them)! The resort is on a golf course so the grounds are well kept and beautiful. The food was great too! Much better prices than in downtown Chicago and great service! We had a incredible day!!
