Our guests enjoyed staying at the Hilton Garden Inn! They do not offer a shuttle but they will hand out your wedding guest welcome bags for free!
We used this hotel as one of our room blocks for guests! Amanda we worked with was very nice, very accommodating. As the wedding got closer she even asked for updated on shuttles, welcome bags, if we would be using their bar, etc, which I thought was very nice! We also had a block at a different hotel where most guests stayed, because the Hilton requires a 2 night minimum, did not have any suites (for bridal party), and did not have a pool (we had young kids in the family). Obviously they can't change the pool aspect or randomly create suites, but I felt the 2 night minimum was a hindering factor for many guests.
Amanda was awesome. She had great advise and made the whole preparing and day of stress free. The food was great. The staff was wonderful. The place was set up beautifully. I highly recommend the Hilton. James was great too. He made sure everything perfect and that everyone had what they needed including a good time. It was a perfect day ! Thank you Amanda, James and Hilton staff !
I worked with Amanda in sales the entire time and she is the main reason I went with the Hilton. She was so friendly and willing to do anything to make our special day the best it could be. The prices were transparent - no added fees, which added to my feeling that the Hilton was the right place to go. Our wedding was gorgeous and Amanda put together the centerpieces once I bought the materials she didn’t have. The food was also amazing, every single guest complimented what they had - and most had everything on the buffet! I would 200% recommend the Hilton to anyone looking to plan a nice wedding for a reasonable price.
The HGI is a new hotel, and it shows - the rooms are very nice and clean, and the lobby is absolutely beautiful (we got rain on our wedding day, and the lobby was so nice that we ended up doing some indoor shots there as a backup). They also have a pretty atrium that is open, weather depending, for lounging with a glass of wine, etc.
The staff was wonderful to work with, very friendly and helpful. I was such a basket case heading into the wedding that I locked myself out of my room not once but TWICE, and it didn't even phase them! :)
Room rates were very slightly higher than other hotels we checked with in the area, but if I were to block rooms in the area again, I would definitely choose the HGI again in a heartbeat!
The only drawbacks are:
- It's a fairly small hotel, so they were only able to do one block of rooms and could not expand it once the block was full. This worked out fine for me since I had a limited number of guests from out of town, but would not work for bridal parties who need lots of rooms.
- Breakfast is not included in the room rates. We ended up booking a catered breakfast with them for the day after the wedding, and were happy with the food and the service, but it would be wonderful if breakfast could be included for the room block guests. (The other option we investigated was purchasing breakfast vouchers on behalf of our guests, which they were happy to accommodate, but we ultimately decided against it because we wanted our guests to be able to lounge around and chit chat without worrying about taking up all the tables in the breakfast area)
- Room rates in general were much higher than I was expecting for the area. I was floored that Auburn rates were higher than even the newest hotels in Syracuse. I get that it's prime Finger Lakes fall foliage/wine season, but still! I didn't have much choice due to the location of my wedding venue (a very small town that didn't have any hotels of its own), but brides with more flexibility may find better rates outside of the Auburn area.
We used the new Hilton Garden Inn as our homebase for our wedding weekend, with most of the wedding party and out-of-town guests staying here. The new hotel is very modern, clean, and sharp looking. There was great general space on the first floor near the entrance for our wedding party to hang out and chat, have a drink, order pizza, etc. between wedding events. The bar is located adjacent to this area and we had a great little after party after our off-site reception. We highly recommend this venue!
The Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn, is a beautifully designed new building. The staff was extremely accommodating letting my guests in their rooms early, even in a booked gradation weekend. We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding there, as well as a brunch the following morning of our wedding and the food, wait staff and service were all excellent. The night of our wedding one of our guests was performing our first dance song. He accidentally left his lyrics and music sheet in the hotel room, the hotel manager quickly took care of the issue and delivered the items to our reception venue. They also gave my guests their welcome bags upon arrival, and answered any questions that pertained to our wedding weekend. The Hilton Garden Inn is absolutely amazing!
We booked our venue before the hotel was finished being built based on what we wanted for a menu selection. Not only did the menu impress us (as it is not typical wedding food) but when we first saw the venue it was just gorgeous. All the colors popped and it was very elegant. The whole staff worked with our every request and they were able to provide a reception of our dreams. The hospitality from the start of the process even now through the end has been great and I would not hesitate to work with them again on another event. We had nothing but compliments about the food/service/venue and we had many guests tell us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and the food was different and out of this world.
