My passion for food and beverage sales, along with my desire to execute a good party, translates into all my job duties and therefore creates the perfect job! I help brides and businesses plan their itineraries, plan their menus, and anything in between along the way. I thrive off of helping others and bringing people together, and what does that more than a good meal and good company? Being on the ocean every day is just icing on the (wedding) cake! We happened upon this venue by chance. From the first meeting we had, we were in love with the location and the staff. They worked with us throughout the entire process and made adjustments based on our preferences. They helped make the wedding planning process so easy!! As for the location, you can't beat it. It is right on the water. All the guest rooms face the water! The small ballroom has 2 walls of windows that overlook the ocean. The larger ballroom is slightly off the ocean front view, however, we were able to also use part of the restaurant space to ensure that our guests could easily flow from the ballroom to the outdoor deck to get some air. If I had to do it all again, I'd pick the same venue. It was amazing!! Exactly what I was looking for for my beach wedding.

My husband and I got married here in September of 2024 and it was the second best decision I've ever made!! (Marrying him being the best decision.) The location was great but the staff is absolutely phenomenal!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Beautiful hotel, great decor, and the best location in OCMD. Being two blocks from the boardwalk, the location is great for having things to do, but also much quieter than staying on the actual boardwalk. If you're looking for great food, great staff, beautiful decor, cleanliness, and convenience this is the spot!!
Each time we walked in the door we were greeted with a smile and offered help with whatever we needed.Vince at the door was so helpful, courteous, friendly, and even offered to help me to my room when the computer systems were down. Vince has the best personality and he is the best guy to greet people as they arrive at the hotel.
This was a destination wedding for us. We had about 20-30 people staying here from our wedding. Every single person we had staying here came up to us in awe of how fantastic it was. Some of my guests have very high standards, and were beyond impressed with cleanliness, food, beverages, and of course the staff. A lot of our guests have done a few destination weddings this year and they said this one was hands down the best. When I walked into our guest room the first thing I saw was a gift bag full of all of our favorite things and a hand written note all from the Catering Sales Manager, Jennifer Dunkelberger. She took the time to learn our favorite things and made sure they were waiting for us in our room. I was blown away.
Chef Chris Gibbons, and the Food and Beverage director Larry Wilgus ensured we were happy with all of the food we ate while at the Hilton Garden Inn.All the foods we tried were exceptional making this the hardest decision we had to make. They were willing to work with us and give us everything we wanted and more. During the wedding Chris went above and beyond by not only making sure our steaks were cooked to perfect temperature, but also picked out two heart shaped filets just for my husband and I. Those extra details made our wedding even more special. Chris spent a lot of time getting to know us and we had the pleasure of getting to know him! He is an amazing Chef and an amazing, creative guy!
Jennifer Dunkelberger the Catering Sales Manager, went above and beyond our expectations. A girl dreams about her wedding forever and she made my wedding better than what I could've ever imagined! She took the time to meet with me multiple times and really got to know us as a couple. We toured quite a few venues but weren't wowed until we met with Jennifer. She is a warm, caring, heart on her sleeve girl that made all the difference. We obviously loved the venue, but Jennifer was the true selling point for us. The night before our wedding she went out after her long day at work to gather some last minute items I forgot to grab when I was back home. She had all of our favorite things in our hotel room when we arrived. We were greeted with handwritten notes about how happy she was that we chose the Hilton Garden Inn. She loves her job and it shows by how much she cares about our happiness. She is a rare breed and I have NEVER been treated so nicely in my entire life.
I cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you again to everyone who made my wedding even more special.

This is a tough review to write. First the positives: Dunes Manor is gorgeous! The décor makes it seem like you're stepping into another time period with the details and Victorian accents. There are 3 rooms they can host events in, so you have lots of options to plan your event, We got married inside looking at the ocean and it was gorgeous. The large deck outback makes for fantastic pictures. Also, the staff (waitstaff, desk clerks, etc) genuinely strive to deliver a great experience. Guest rooms are clean and comfortable.
Now the not so good: The lack of consistent and clear communication was hard to work with. They went through an ownership change 3 months before the wedding, and they then had me work with the new banquet manager in lieu of a coordinator. So many details of the event were lost in the translation, and it was non-stop going back and forth with them trying to make this event happen. For example, our signature cocktail was confirmed prior to the ownership change, reconfirmed with the venue after the change, and then the day of the event, the bartenders were never told by the banquet manager of the signature cocktail. I asked them to confirm how the chairs for the ceremony would be set up so I could plan my reserved seating, they told me how the seats would be set up, and then the day of, it was completely different. I asked the banquet manager how should I communicate menu choices from my guests, and was told to just tell her how many plates per table. I did that, then 2 days before my wedding, they asked me to write on my escort cards what the individual options are, blaming a miscommunication on my part. My contract with Dunes indicated I'd have an onsite coordinator making sure all vendors knew what to do and where to go on the day of, but they never did. So, I spent my cocktail hour running around making sure all vendors knew what was going on in lieu of spending time with my guests. The inconsistencies and lack of follow-through on behalf of this venue added a lot of stress and to my special day. Again, the individual employees were stellar, but the lack of management and oversight made it a disappointment.

Our wedding reception was absolutely beautiful! Erin McLaughlin was our coordinator and her customer service and kindness was fantastic. The food was delicious and everything was fabulous!
