Amanda and team were fantastic. It was very easy to schedule our tour, tasting, and walkthrough. Amanda was so responsive and worked with all of our last minute changes with ease. I also felt pricing was very transparent (no hidden fees) and information was provided early on, which is so necessary for planning.
Our wedding day was beautiful. The bar staff and waiters were above and beyond with their service. Hiring security was worth the cost it as well. We heard from guests many individuals from another party tried to crash our event, but they were all turned away appropriately. My husband and I never once saw an uninvited guest! And I'm happy my family and friends didn't have to act as a bouncer all night.
We held the ceremony on Sunset Point and cocktail hour/reception in Sundance Cafe + patio. Having access to the patio all night was wonderful for guests overheated from dancing. We were notified early on in planning that based on our reception location (cafe is right off the lobby and sound can travel easy, compared to their ballrooms), if any hotel guests complained about noise we would be asked to turn the music down after 10p (though reception was until 11p), but no one complained! Of note, they also have a 5 hour max for the open bar (likely state/liquor license restrictions), so keep that in mind when determining how long to have your reception.
We thoroughly enjoyed having a bridal suite and being on site/one location for our entire wedding day. We were allowed to check in early and allowed late check out as well.
Lastly, Amanda had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room post-wedding, which was such a beautiful touch and kind gesture. Would get married here all over again in a heartbeat.
The resort was the most gorgeous site for my wedding in April 2022. The moment I visited it, I fell in love with the Southwest influence, the blend of outdoor and indoor settings, and incorporation of desert nature into the design. We used three sites in the resort for our fusion Indian-Mexican wedding- The Last Territory for Sangeet (the traditional night of singing/dancing before the wedding), Spawell for Haldi (ceremony with turmeric to bless the couple), and the Sundance Lawn for the Shaadi (wedding ceremony). The Last Territory provided a fun, informal environment for the night before. We had to rent additional stage/lighting to allow for our program. The next morning, the mountains behind Spawell and the peaceful setting gave me a moment of serenity before the big day. The ramada next to the pond in the Sundance Lawn was the perfect site for ceremonial rituals, and we had to rent a tent to keep our guests comfortable. The hotel staff was pleasant to work with, especially Gus Zepeda with reservations. There were a few hiccups during the weekend because of a change in management during the few months before the event. For example, we were told at first that we would be allowed to provide alcohol with the Beer Burro we hired, but then we were told we could not on the day of the event. Also, the Sundance Lawn is next to the pool, and the resort kept the pool music playing which was a little distracting for the wedding and should have ideally been either turned off or played at a lower volume. However, all in all Christianna Solano did everything in her power to make the event smooth and a beautiful day, even with 6 other events that weekend! We had an incredibly memorable event thanks to their support.
The worst communication and terribly unorganized. Here are just a handful of examples of our experience with El Conquistador:
- Couldn’t get ahold of anyone to take payments leading up to the wedding so ended up paying everything in 1 payment.
- Had 3 different catering managers because they kept leaving the resort. Only found out because we turbo called after sending multiple emails, even having to show up to the resort to talk to someone. Ended up working mainly with the GM.
- Had to reschedule (covid) and they rebooked us on the wrong day (Sunday instead of Saturday). By the time we realized, the reception space was already booked. So we had to change to a ballroom that did not match our vision at all and was more expensive to decorate.
- The ballroom space we were physically shown was a section of a larger ballroom. We found out the week of the wedding that we actually had 3 sections instead of the 1 section we were shown about five times previously.
- Was told early on we could get in to decorate the day before and found out less than a month before that we couldn’t get in until the morning of the wedding. They ended up staying late the night before to get the space turned over which was awesome but it took us weeks of back and forth and begging.
- Weeks would go by without a word back from questions emailed to the catering managers.
- The “captain” was extremely rude during the reception. Followed me into the bathroom while I was trying to go to the bathroom to let me know people were taking shots and they need to be cut off.
- They cut people off early at the open bar and their reasoning was that they were attending the bar too much.
- I spent the time to create a seating chart for the kitchen noting people that had dietary restrictions and children and it took more than 3 times to get people the right meals during the reception
- They charged us over $8,000 for the final charges without sending us any kind of itemized breakdown of those charges. It took us weeks (and calling the GM) to get the itemized receipt and we found errors with the breakdown so had to go back and forth to request a refund. We still feel like we aren’t aligned…
It was a beautiful resort and our outdoor pictures turned out amazing but if I got to redo one thing from our wedding I would have chosen a different venue. I am a huge believer in communication and we didn’t feel like we got even the minimum communication from the staff which was disappointing considering how much the venue cost. They promote themselves as a popular wedding venue but I would not recommend it to other brides.
Our wedding at El Conquistador was a dream come true. every single person made us feel valued and appreciated. Special shout out to Robin, who was absolutely phenomenal! This gal went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. She is so friendly and just a down right nice, kind hearted human being! Such a pleasure working with her and everyone at the resort. Highly recommend for any special occasion!
Where to even start with this venue? The venue was beautiful and received so many compliments. It hardly needed decor because of the gorgeous mountain backdrops everywhere. The El Conquistador staff made us feel like family. So many employees went out of their way to make our stay feel special and congratulate us. To name a few - Sarah from catering, who helped us plan every moment, Antonio, from housekeeping, Dylan, Chris, Tricia - our bartender, and Johnny - who helped set up our ceremony area. Every single one of our guests loved it. Thank you El Conquistador for making our day a lifelong dream come true!
this place is so beautiful. they took care of everything and more. the hospitality suite was perfect for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in
Having our wedding at the Hilton El Conquistador is a dream come true. The Catalina mountains as a backdrop is breath taking!
Though our wedding was in the heat of the Tucson summer, our guests raved about how beautiful and elegant everything was. And, they loved the food!
Darrin Land, our El Conquistador coordinator, made planning our wedding stress free. I didn't hire a planner and basically was winging it, so I was a bit nervous come wedding day. Darrin did so much more than I expected, he stayed and orchestrated each element of our ceremony, cocktail hour and until dinner was served. Our wedding was perfect!
My wife and I were married in Tucson and held our reception at the El Conquistador in Feb. 2014. This was absolutely the best most awesome venue to celebrate this one special day. Clyde Nakasone was simply awesome and "stuck through" with us through all the little details. Qudos to the Hilton and Clyde!!!!
Enjoyed staying at this hotel for our wedding week. We had numerous family stay as well, and loved all of the pools and water slide. The hospitality suite was the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready.
Our wedding at Hilton El Conquistador was amazing! Clyde Nakasone, the Catering Manager, made the planning process go so smoothly and was super responsive and accommodating. He went above and beyond leading up the wedding, and during the rehearsal dinner party, and wedding day as well. I met with several venues and their coordinators before meeting with Clyde, and I could immediately tell he would make sure our Big Day was as special as it could be. We had a welcome party/ rehearsal dinner at the Last Territory, which is a Western themed event venue on site, and the food, service and ambiance were all awesome! Our guests loved the BBQ menu Clyde helped us put together and the S'mores over the fire pits for dessert. We got married the following night on Sunset point, and our out of town guests were really impressed with the view. We had our reception in Turquoise ballroom there, and the food was delicious-several guests also commented on how much larger the portions were compared to what is usually served at weddings. We couldn't be happier with how everything went!
We cannot say enough about how amazing the Hilton was to work with- everything went off without a hitch and planning my wedding from afar I was comfortable knowing the plans were coming along without me there.
It was a perfect day and just as I expected!
Our wedding at the El Conquistador was everything I could have hoped for! All year during the planning process, Clyde answered all of my emails and all my questions immediately. He was very responsive and helpful. The day of, and the rehearsal, he helped coordinate everything with my family and our big wedding party, which included 7 kids!! This was not an easy task. And helped coordinate with the photographer and dj. If we had an issue with anything, he made sure it was corrected immediately. They made me feel special there, and made the whole experience amazing!! My wedding was a winter wonderland! They had Christmas trees in the reception ballroom and even changed all the ornaments to match my color scheme! He even helped secure the aisle runner, and fixed my train, right before I walked down. It's little unexpected touches like that, that made the whole experience wonderful!
Amazing place for your guests to stay!! They will love the mountain views, pool, convenient location, tennis courts and golf course!
We hosted my bridal luncheon there as well - so lovely!
The room rates were not kept track of very well. I had hoped I would be called right when our block of rooms were all used up, so that when more guests called they were not told they were out of luck. But you just need to be more communicative and direct as a bride than I was and I am sure that'd be fine.
Amazing scenery !!
We had our wedding at the El Conquistador Country Club and it was absolutely perfect!!! We had the entire club at our disposal during both the rehearsal day and the wedding day. The 2 event planners (Sasha and Clyde) were incredible! They listened to every request I made and met every expectation flawlessly. They were accommodating to my budget, were flexible when some changes had to be made last minute, communicated quickly and clearly to me, were genuinely caring and kind, and were professional throughout the whole process. I cannot say enough about how beautiful the setting was, how good the food was, and how excellent our event was thanks to the staffs hard work! We were the only event allowed at the club on the day of our wedding and we got everyone's undivided attention. I am so grateful we had our wedding there! I loved every minute of the experience!!!
We had our reception at the Hilton and I am so happy we did! For a little background, I planned our wedding long distance, from Dallas Tx. Clyde was so helpful in this process! I only had a chance to meet with him twice to set up the wedding details, and he was so meticulous with what I asked him to do! When we went to taste the food prior to the reception, my mother in law came with us on a spur of a moment thing and we did not tell Clyde, as she didn't plan on tasting the food. Well, he made sure she got food anyway, so she could eat with us! I had some last minute changes the day before the wedding and he made sure they were taken care of as well! Lastly, my grandmother is rather disabled, but still made it to the wedding. She needed special accomodations for the meal and he made sure everything she needed was taken care of and he came up to myself and my mother during the reception to make sure we were pleased with everything!
Clyde Nakasone is the event coordinator and was so easy to work with and accommodating. It's not only a beautiful venue but reasonable; all our out of town guests stayed there for a reasonable rate and it was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this venue.
Everyone's jaws dropped on arrival. The weather was great and the backdrop was incredible. We liked what we saw on the inspection and on the day, we were not disappointed. Clyde and his Team did a great job. He was pretty thorough in his briefings and responded quickly to emails. The only points I wish I'd had more clarification on were vendor meals (eventually discovered what these are and could order them) and service fees (then again I'm not from the US and still trying to get my head around them). The setup was great, the ceremony was fantastic (with his guidance) and the reception went smoothly. Food was good, as was the cake. The Staff is attendance on Dec 7 were very helpful, pleasant and helped make our night. Thanks!
We had many friends and family members visiting from out of town, so it was very appropriate for us to have our wedding reception at a hotel. The Hilton El Conquistador was perfect. We had our ceremony at Catalina State Park, so the Hilton was very close and easy for people to get to. The views of Pusch Ridge are amazing and the hotel grounds are gorgeous. The staff was very accommodating and helpful throughout the process. The only thing that we didn't like was that they charged us for very minor things--for example, my sister made up little care packages for all of our visitors staying in the hotels, and the Hilton charged us a dollar each to deliver them. It wasn't a huge deal, but just something that caught us off guard. Overall, we had a great experience having our wedding here.
We had our ceremony and reception at the Hilton. It was all amazing! Clyde was a great coordinator and was extremely accommodating. During the whole planning process, he was very quick to respond with any question. There was not one thing that went wrong on our day. The food was good and our cake turned out beautiful. Most of our guests were from out of town and they were all impressed with the wedding, their rooms and the service they received. I can't think of anything that could have been changed. The Hilton also worked well with all of our other vendors.
Hilton really pulled through for me when another venue cancelled last minute. Clyde, the event coordinator, made sure everything ranerfectly. Couldn't ask for a better place.
The staff rocks! They helped us every step of the way. We held our ceremony and reception there, as well as blocked rooms for out of town guests. The food was great, the pastry chef created a beautiful cake, the location is amazingly gorgeous, and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend working with LeeAnn and the rest of the staff. They truly took all the worry out of our special day!
