Megan was our point of contact but honestly the entire team was so kind and helpful. Everyone there was aware of the wedding and what was happening and when. And we had a crazy day with 2 ceremonies and a reception! We couldn’t have asked for a smoother experience!
We booked our wedding reception at The Old Tappan Manor for 11/11/18 and began our search for a hotel to accommodate our guests, as most of our family and friends would be traveling over an hour for our wedding. We looked at a few hotels in the area, but Hilton Woodcliff Lake was able to check all the boxes for us. The Hilton offered a group rate of $139 + taxes for the night before and night of our wedding, as well as complimentary transportation and bridal suites at discounted rates based upon the number of rooms picked up in our wedding block.
We worked directly with Joanna in the sales department and she was very quick to answer all of our questions (thanks for being so patient with our numerous questions!). The hotel printed out welcome letters and placed them in the welcome bags we provided for our guests. We booked two suites, of which both were large enough to accommodate the bridal party getting ready the morning of the wedding.
We had two shuttles that were supposed to leave the Hilton Woodcliff Lake at 5:30 pm – however our ceremony lasted about 15 minutes longer than anticipated, which made our guests a little late catching the shuttle. The first shuttle left at 5:30pm with no one on it, and some of our guests asked the second shuttle to wait a few minutes so everyone could utilize the service. We realize things have to keep to a schedule, however we are convinced both shuttles would have run empty instead of waiting a few extra minutes for our guests. The first shuttle back to the hotel was scheduled to leave at 11 pm, with the second one leaving about 10 – 15 minutes after, so we could collect our belongings from the venue. The driver of the second shuttle was a little impatient and actually came into the venue to motion us on the bus. All in all, not a big deal, but something to keep in mind for future couples!
The Hilton kept their bar open till 2am on a Sunday in order to accommodate our after party. This was a big hit with our guests! The room was spacious and the lounge also provided for a great spot to gather and chat about the day.
Finally, we worked with Joanna to provide breakfast vouchers for our bridal party and immediate families. We didn’t have it in our budget to provide for everyone staying at the hotel, and Joanna came up with a solution to provide breakfast vouchers and we’d pay for them upon consumption.
Overall we are very happy with our stay at the Hilton Woodcliff Lake and would recommend to any couples looking to book their wedding room block!

I can't say enough about the quality of service from the Hilton Woodcliff Lake. We worked closely with Marie, who was very professional, responsive, and added a wonderful touch of humanity and humor in an otherwise potentially cold industry. She assisted us with every detail from beginning to end.
The hotel: we had many guests traveling from out of state, and they all said the rooms were very comfortable and they utilized the pool and beautiful outdoor spaces.
Since we booked enough rooms, the Hilton provided us with a FREE shuttle from the hotel to/from the church, and it was straight up luxurious from what our guests told us (plus I saw pictures). The driver allowed champagne on the ride back (with gentle encouragement :)
The venue: we had a smaller wedding (~100 people) so we were able to fit into the Crystal Ballroom and utilized the connected Terrace for cocktail hour. I had a hard time imagining how beautiful the room could be when I first visited, but on the night of the wedding it was transformed into an intimate and gorgeous setting, which was EXACTLY what we were hoping for. The landscaping was a beautiful backdrop for our pictures as well.
The bar in the lobby just outside of the ballroom was an awesome setting for our late night friends to spend more time together. We didn't have to worry about transporting people to another site, and we ordered some delicious pizzas from the restaurant to restore people's energy after tons of dancing. Everyone walked 20 steps to spend the end of the evening together, and then simply walked to their rooms to crash out later. We were able to maximize our time with our friends and family in great comfort and style. The next day we saw many of our guests at the delicious breakfast in the restaurant and were able to debrief on the night's events.
The food and service: OUTSTANDING. 4 couples came up to us and told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and the food was a huge highlight. We didn't like the idea of stopping our party to cut a cake, so we chose the apple tart dessert, and this was a huge hit!!
No wedding is perfect. We had one mishap, where there was the wrong number of chairs were placed at one of the tables, but the staff quickly corrected the situation with no drama.
Overall...10 stars. We could not have asked for a more spectacular wedding reception!!! AND it was one of the most AFFORDABLE prices we found after looking at multiple venues.
The staff could not have been better. We had issues with our block and they took care of it. They worked with us and gave us the most beautiful wedding reception and made it stress free. The staff at the reception made sure we ate and had something to drink at all times as well as making sure our guests were handled to perfection. Oh and Chef Rocco was the BEST! THANK YOU CHARLES, JOANNA, MARIE AND CHEF ROCCO! My guests told us best reception ever and one even called it epic!!!
We got a hotel block for our wedding here with about 80 rooms over the course of two nights. The hotel itself was very nice and large.Over the course of a few months before my wedding, the contact person kept changing which was frustrating-probably about 3-4 times. I asked several times about putting a few rooms from a list of people in our block near the groom's suite. This was because I knew that our friends can be loud and stay up late, so I wanted to be considerate to other hotel guests and "buffer" the rooms to not disturb people. I had requested this several times. When we checked in, there was another room bordering the groom's suite. They then moved us to a second groom's suite further down and blocked off the room for the first night, but put someone from another reservation in the room the second night! I gave them a list of people's rooms (it could have been any, we weren't picky) to put around them and was ignored again. We got a noise complaint so moved a few times. I know sometimes these things can be unavoidable, but we did everything in our power to stop this-it's 2018 for crying out loud! They then called us "atrocious" and were very rude the next day. They inconvenienced themselves, but it was still frustrating after we gave them so much business. We will not be staying there again.
If I could give a zero star rating I would. My best friend booked this hotel for her wedding room block and the week before the wedding they called to say they overbooked the hotel due to a computer glitch and had to move all her guests to the Courtyard Marriott in Montvale. That was mistake #1. The bridal party still planned to get ready at the Hilton and do the first look photos in the garden. When we went down to the lobby to do the first look we found another wedding party doing pictures! The hotel manager said they had it written down that our wedding party was booked to do pictures and did not know why there was another wedding party there- they also did nothing to correct the situation. When confronted about this, the manager simply said that the garden is a public space and he did not know about the issue sooner. He offered no correction for the situation and was very defensive and unhelpful. We wasted enough time trying to figure out what to do that we finally decided we would just change the photo location to the wedding venue. When we went outside to take our pre-booked shuttle to the venue, we found there was no van driver! The hotel staff were again very unhelpful, and we wasted more time standing around waiting for them to find our driver. Myself and another bridal party member ended up driving as many bridal party members to the venue as we could fit into our cars. DO NOT RECOMMEND BOOKING HERE!!!!! The staff always seemed confused about what was going on, the management is disorganized, and when things were clearly not going well they offered no corrections. Save yourself time and sanity and book elsewhere.
For our wedding, we had our hotel block, a pre-wedding function, our ceremony, and a farewell brunch all at the Hilton Woodcliff Lake! We had a wonderful experience with Alex (Sales Manager) and Gina (Catering Manager) who helped us accommodate our MANY guests, my own family (who was not from the area), and help us plan a multi-cultural (Indian/American) wedding weekend! We were able to call, email, visit frequently and quickly heard back from Alex/Gina with our many questions throughout the planning process. Our events were setup as planned, and all the food was delicious. Additionally, the Hilton helped us arrange for shuttle transportation for our reception, and provided us with the bridal suite for me and my husband.
Thank you to the Hilton Woodcliff Lake for being so accommodating and helping our wedding go exactly as we had hoped!

This rating is regarding a wedding block experience, posted by the bride. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We booked a wedding block here for our wedding night. We had 26 guest rooms total booked under our block, lots of business for this hotel. We were quite dissatisfied with our experience. We had booking issues - we were told that for every night we gave them 20+ booked guest rooms, they would give us a complimentary bridal suite for that night. When my maid of honor called the front desk staff to book her room for two nights, she was encouraged to book outside of our wedding block (presumably because if we had more reservations counted toward our block we would get a complimentary room for two nights, not just one). I'm not sure how many other guests experienced this. This obviously did not instill confidence, as it made us fear we would be cheated. We ended up paying for one of our two nights - over $300 for a suite that was really just mediocre. Further, when my husband arrived the day before the wedding to check-in, the front desk staff informed him that our bridal suite was not ready. He waited for 2 hours in the front lobby, which extended to even after our 3pm check-in time. After this, we were finally given a suite with 2 double beds (for our wedding night) in which the air conditioning didn't work. I, at that point, called the group sales manager that booked our wedding block, Megan Murphy, and as soon as she was made aware of this we were thankfully given a complimentary upgrade to an executive suite. However, Megan was never notified of the issue by the front desk staff, she wasn't aware until we called. There are serious communication issues between the front desk staff & the group sales department. The group sales department should be regularly following up with the front desk to make sure wedding blocks are being handled smoothly because it is a HUGE source of business for this hotel. Further, we dropped off "hotel welcome bags" to be distributed to our wedding guests upon their arrival the day before our wedding, which we put a significant amount of effort & money into making. Because of hotel block booking issues (mentioned above), I gave extra bags in case a few of our guests had booked outside of our block and there were more needed than anticipated. We learned that several of our guests never actually received them. There should have been at least 9 extras if not more, and when we tried to obtain the extras back after the wedding weekend, we were given the run-around by the front desk & the group sales department. I'm assuming the staff members took them for themselves. We were left feeling rather cheated at the end of everything, and wish we had gone with another hotel for our wedding block.
We had a picture perfect wedding at the Hilton Woodcliff Lake. Everything before the wedding was perfect and they really sold us on their professionalism. I was so impressed with their assurance to make sure that the day was exactly what we wanted. Which they did a great job of. My only complaint would be that they knew we were having 250 people at the reception and I told them numerous times that we are big drinkers ... we were willing to pay for extra bartenders to make sure that no one had to wait (I was told that they would take care of it and it wouldn't be a problem.) However when my parents got to the cocktail hour there were only 2 bartenders... the issue was quickly resolved but since I had given the heads I assumed it wouldn't even be an issue. Other than that, everything was fabulous.
We chose the Hilton because the idea of the wedding continuing without anyone driving after the official reception was over was very appealing. The Hilton was also very middle of the road when it came to price. Some places nearby wanted upwards of $200 per plate. The Hilton was much more reasonable. Tom gave us a great sell and we were excited to work with him to add personal touches to our day.
Sadly, Tom left and we were not notified. While the new person was nice, she did not have the attention to detail that Tom did. Several of the personal touches and upgrades that we had contracted for were not delivered. When we commented on this during and after the fact, no attempt at compensation was made.
Our attendants were wonderful and the food was excellent - much better than other mass produced catering halls we had been been to. We were glad that we had our reception there, but definitely felt as though we got what we paid for.
My husband and I decided to switch hotels late in the game and Scott came to our rescue. He was incredibly accommodating and extremely responsive! The Hilton has everything you are looking for as a bride-to-be. The suites are AMAZING -- huge, clean, with a bar and extra bathroom. My entire wedding party got ready here and there was still so much space. They provide shuttles to the venue for all hotel guests, if you meet a certain room quota. The shuttles were large and clean. They can accommodate handicap accessible guests, private brunches the next morning, their grounds are beautiful and we were able to take pictures there as well. All in all, we were so happy with this hotel and would HIGHLY recommend it to others! :)
We booked a room block of over 50 rooms and had our next day brunch with the Hilton. We had a very mixed bag with the Hilton.
The brunch the next day was great and the buses arrived on time to take our guests to and from the venue. Each guest was given the room that they had reserved and the bridal suite provided to us was very nice. An assistant who was not in charge of our room block was very helpful when we did not hear from the representative who was handling everything from us. Those are the positives.
Here are the negatives: The father of the bride was given a room without working air conditioning (it was over 95 degrees the weekend of our wedding).
The representative who was in charge of our room block and booking our brunch the next day left without telling us. Before she left, she forgot to put our room request in for the brunch. Had we not called to check in, we would have lost our space for the brunch. No one from the hotel told us that our representative was leaving and the new representative was not told to contact us or made aware of our account.
The hotel was very unresponsive. It would take days to receive a response be it either via email or phone. One representative told us we were not their priority as we were not having our wedding there. While this should be the case, you don't have to remind us of this. We felt as though we had to "fight" for things that were entitled to us.
We dropped off hotel bags to be passed out to the guests staying in our room block. These were not passed out to our first guests. One of the guests staying had to go down to remind them to pass them out.
The hotel wrote a welcome letter for us, which was very nice. However, both of our names were spelled wrong despite the names being not only on the contracts but on several emails.
Overall, we would recommend them, but keep in mind that you will have to contact them repeatedly in some instances to insure a positive experience for your guests.
We had our wedding reception at the Hilton Woodcliff Lake on 9/30/12. We cannot say enough great things about the staff, service and the food. When we first met with Tom, we immediately liked him, he was friendly, professional and not pushy. He gave us some great suggestions on set up and menu ideas. He was very patient and would always take the time to answer all my concerns. Our maitre d Max, on the day of the wedding was also great, anything we needed he was there. We had no worries, because everything went so smoothly. We cannot rave enough about the food! Our guests were so impressed with the quality and amount of everything from the delicious lamb chops at the cocktail hour to the wedding cake, everything was hot and fresh. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and we have everyone at the Hilton, especially Tom to thank for that. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone!
We loved our wedding hall, though we had some bumps along the way it worked out great and the staff ended up being amazingly helpful!
Could have been more attentive. Guests say that the bartenders said they ran out of alcohol, which was uncalled for.
We got married here at the end of April and I am a very detail oriented (anxious) bride. The staff at the hilton was amazing, particularly Tom, Stephanie, and Max. They listened to each question and concern that I had an addressed them quickly and amazingly. Everyone told me that things would go wrong on my wedding day, but I can honestly say that the day was PERFECT and that people are still talking about how amazing the room looked and how delicious the food was!
The Hilton Woodcliff Lake was very easy to work with. The Hilton is great at providing shuttles to meet your guests' needs. They also give you headcounts detailing who has reserved in your room block, which is extremely helpful when it comes to planning welcome bags and breakfast the next morning. The only issue is there seems to be frequent turnover (I worked with 3 different people throughout my 1 year wedding planning process) but their responsiveness to my questions never suffered. You cant go wrong by picking the Hilton.
I had my wedding at the Hilton Woodcliff Lake on Saturday 10.29.11 and I could not have been more happy! Tom Saffioti was such pleasure to work with throughout the entire planning process and made my experience that much greater! He paid such attention to details and made sure my husband and I were happy as well as our parents and guests. On top of everything, there was a huge snow storm and the Hilton was the only place in the area with power so we were actually able to have our wedding! So happy I had my wedding there!
I stayed here the night before and night of the wedding. The hotel is amazing!!! Located right near a shopping center and food store, everything you need that is not in the hotel you will find. The concierge helped with everything, from the gift bags, to my luggage, to getting all the hair and make up people to my room. All the guests rooms were immaculate and gorgeous! I can't wait to stay here again!!!
EXCELLENT SERVICE:
I recently had the pleasure of working with the Hilton Woodcliff Lake for my 9/10/11 wedding. First I would like to start off by saying that Jeff, the Sales Manger, was absolutely amazing to work with & he is a huge part of why I am rating this venue 5 stars! Wedding planning can be extremely stressful, but Jeff was Always Quick to respond to my dozen emails & was Always able to answer all the questions I had! ...IN FACT, the day of the wedding, while in the limo on the way to the venue, I realized I told him the incorrect time that the party ended.. In a panic I emailed him from my phone asking him if it was possible to change the shuttle time, & he emailed me minutes later saying it was no problem!! AMAZING!!
Next, we had our post wedding brunch at the hotel & the food was excellent & room was very spacious for our 80+ guests! Mark, the Senior Convention Service Manager, was very catering to our requests & also very urgent with responding to all my emails!
BEAUTIFUL HOTEL:
My husband and I were recommended to this vendor through our venue, The Estate at Florentine Gardens, as an option for our guests to stay! Once we visited, we knew it was the perfect place for us! A few things that stand out: the hotel lobby is very impressive when you first walk in, the bridal suite is HUGE & was extremely roomie for my 8 bridesmaids & I to get ready!, there is a restaurant on the premises, as well as a cute little coffee shop, very pretty grounds to take photos, the hotel bar is open till 2am:) Lastly & most importantly, the hotel provides shuttle service to and from your venue if you book X amount of rooms, which was amazing!
**Well deserved 5 stars & I would recommend this vendor to anyone looking for a hotel in Northern Jersey!
The staff is very professional and responsive. We had a tasting and had many issues with the food, however they were all addressed and the food at the wedding was awesome! The cake was a huge disappointment for me. The cake topper drooped! But it did taste good. The venue is perfect if you have alot of out of town guests who are flying in. Having the guests and the wedding at the same location made for a very easy wedding day, especially nice for guests with children. All in all, we were happy and our wedding was a huge success!
Debbie was so amazing with coordinating rooms for all my guests. The staff was great! They were so organized when it came to giving out welcome bags and greeting guests. Highly reccomend!
I loved this hotel! I wish I had a reason to stay there again (I live 20 mins away, so sadly I don't think i will)... it was really, really nice, and the bridal suite was HUGE! That worked out really well for me, because I had a large bridal party and had the hair and makeup people come to the room, along with the photographer and videographer-- I had 2 of each of those, and we still weren't tight on space. The hotel grounds were gorgeous as well, and we got a lot of great pictures outside before we left for the church. All of my guests only had good things to say, and the hotel also provided free shuttle service to and from our venue. Highly recommend!
We booked our room block with the Hilton and they were great throughout the entire planning process. The shuttle to our reception hall was free for guests - a big plus!
The Hilton provides complimentary transportation to and from your reception which is why I chose them for my wedding. The hotel is nice but is definitely getting older and was not as nice as I'd expected. They provide a free room for the bride and groom but it's not anything special.
