The service was great. Everything we covered before the event was done. Other than the initial introductions I never had to speak with the staff, they handled everything seamlessly!

When we needed to hire some staffing for our wedding, our venue recommended Hire a Host, and I'm very glad they did. From start to finish they were great to work with and very accommodating to our needs. Some of the other staff services we looked at only offered all or nothing plans, but Hire a Host was able to get us exactly what we needed for our particular wedding. Gail was very helpful in the planning process, and was willing to go back and forth with me when we needed to make changes as our plans evolved. The staff they sent to help us were professional and very helpful. We had a very limited time at our venue, and they were willing to come in the day before to get things set up so that everything looked great when our guests arrived. During the ceremony we decided, on the fly, to move up the schedule and serve dinner early, and they rolled with it like champs, getting everything ready to serve in about ten minutes. They even boxed up the leftover food from our buffet so that guests could take some home with them. If your are looking for staff for your wedding, I can't recommend them enough.

Gail & Kyla + their team went above and beyond anything we could have imagined to make my backyard wedding run smoothly and seamlessly! They came out to our house twice to get all our info and details squared away and to make sure everything the bride had in mind, came to life & more. Gail drew up an entire mock set up of the ceremony and reception so I could get an idea of exactly what it would look like. They had such good ideas and advice! They handled all equipment rentals, valet, bar, food serving etc perfectly. Our guests were amazed at their service. They set up our ceremony and after our ceremony they flipped that area into the reception area setting out the head table/ all guest tables and chairs during our cocktail hour. Bride and mother of the bride had not a worry in the world the entire night. Cannot recommend Gail and her team enough!!!

We worked with Kyla and her team from HAH to have them staff our June wedding at Paikka. Originally we wanted to have two different food truck vendors, but ended up going with Revival bbq as a buffet option. Throughout our modifications and catering edits, Kyla was extremely flexible and pleasant to work with. She was always happy to send over new estimates and even created different ones for different scenarios over our planning process. On the day of, the HAH staff were so efficient and professional and were responsive to any of the concerns we had in the moment. We loved working with HAH and they really allowed our wedding vision to play out!

Gail and her team were amazing to work with from start to finish. She helped us with wedding planning, prep, food service, and set-up and clean-up for our backyard reception. She knows her stuff!! She and her team were so professional, organized, detail-oriented, and were able to be so proactive! I cannot recommend them enough! I wish we had hired them to do everything for our wedding!

We got married at the Science Museum because they partner with Hire A Host. We needed to be able to contract with a kosher caterer and Hire A Host promised that they would be able to make that happen.
The entire process was difficult. We originally worked with Kelly and after not receiving documents or accurate quotes, Melanie took over. Unfortunately, HAH continued to disappoint. They expected us to communicate with the caterer. They charged us for plates that were not used on top of plates that we rented to meet kosher standards. When we asked to remove that charge they said they had not charged us for things like ordering specialty wines (which was no different of a process than ordering non-Kosher wine, except perhaps that we sent them direct links to each wine).
We wound up basically planning the wedding ourselves around Hire A Host. If you are doing a simple event with no religious or dietary needs, Hire A Host is probably fine.

Thank you Hire A Host for an amazing wedding experience. We hired them to set up, maintain and clean up our wedding buffet and they did an amazing job. They even picked up our food from the restaurant, which was a huge help. Communication was great from both Mara and Gail. The staff showed up with smiles on their faces and did a great job of having everything run smoothly. They were right there to clear out any dishes or assist in any way. Would happily work with them again.

We had a pretty last minute catering change, and Hire a Host swooped in to save the day! Gail was really helpful and thorough, and the day went off without a hitch. It was definitely pricy, but everything turned out perfectly!

Hire a Host helped us with our meal service, day of coordination toward the end of the evening and event tear down. Katie our main point contact was very responsive leading up to the wedding and organized with the day of execution. The team was a lifesaver when it came to helping us pack up our decor at the end of the night. We were grateful for their help!

She is so experienced that she was able to give us all kinds of affordable ideas to enhance our day within our budget! Everyone of their staff were professional and helpful. Jennifer (our lead) and the rest of our servers were absolutely FANTASTIC at our wedding, going above and beyond what we asked of them and making us feel taken care of on our special day! A lovely added touch - after dinner they rearranged the candelabras on our dinner tables to keep the warm ambiance going into the reception party. They were organized, friendly, and above all so efficient on the day-of organizing and cleaning that it really helped us with take-down the next day. Couldn't recommend them more!

Ask for Katie!
We had to change venues 3 weeks before our wedding, which meant we needed catering, bar, linens, plates, etc. This could have been an extremely stressful disaster but once I spoke with Katie from Hire A Host I was instantly at ease. Katie made it sound totally possible to do all of the extra things without completely blowing our budget. Katie handled our endless questions with patience and kindness and even helped us set up a caterer tasting within a couple of days. She really went above and beyond to make us feel like this was doable and that the day would still be amazing. I am sure there are things that happened that day that I don’t even know about because she did such a great job as the day-of coordinator as well! I highly recommend Hire A Host and definitely use Katie!

Hire A Host provided event coordination and bar tending for our wedding reception. Katie S. was our coordinator and she was AMAZING! She went above and beyond in terms of helping us to plan and prepare. She was super responsive, answering every little question we had, and even giving answers to the questions we didn’t know we should be asking! There was a slight hiccup the day before the wedding, and we weren’t able to set up the venue as planned- Katie put us at ease though, assuring us everything would be fine, and she was right! The next day every little detail was better than we could have imagined, and the entire day was executed perfectly. The Hire A Host bartenders and staff were friendly and helpful. Our wedding day really was our perfect day, and we know that was in a large part due to Katie and the Hire A Host staff!

I adored working with Hire a Host. They helped me clarify my plans for a low-key reception party and helped take care of all the necessary details that I was in the process of forgetting. They helped throughout the evening to serve, clean-up, and stay on top of all the details. Their communication, flexibility, warmth and professionalism were exceptional. My partner and I agree, they were one of the best investments we made related to our wedding celebration because of the true peace of mind they provided day of in making sure guests were taken care of. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

It wasn’t a good start, first off it took weeks for the worker to get back to us after we contacted them. She then kept pushing for us to have 3 helpers to come out for the wedding. We really only need two because our wedding is on the smallish side but we gave in to having three because the person we were working with kept insisted we needed to have three. We finally started the process and had a contract in the works when a fee was added that we weren’t informed of at the time of discussing the contract. Because we weren’t informed of this service fee my fiancé updated the working contract & sent in a deposit. Hire a host accepted and cashed our deposit (after we sent the updated contract). They did not have to accept the contract or cash the deposit but they did anyway. Three whole weeks later we get an email stating that the fee is “standard” with absolutely no other explanation as to what it was standard for. We questioned the contract & told them fine, we will pay the 500 dollar fee but 3 workers are just too many people for our wedding. Later we get an email stating they will no longer work with us. We then ask if we can speak with the owner because we don’t want to cancel the contract, we still would like help and all the things we were planning on renting from them and we are willing to pay it, it’s just we have questions and frankly customers asking questions shouldn’t be an issue. The owner called my fiancé and was quite rude & said it was our fault that they will not work with us. When my fiancé pointed out the huge amount of time we lost (because their worker took almost 3 months to draft a contract & then almost a month to tell us they weren’t working with us after they cashed our deposit) and that it might be difficult to find another company because they might all be booked the owner stated “What? you have a year!” 1) no we don’t, our wedding is in almost 8 months. 2) people start planning weddings long before this. We are both very upset. This isn’t about money for us, it’s about the fact that we question something & was basically scolded. It’s also about the time wasted. Months of our lives spent on this contract. It’s going to be very difficult to find someone in such a short time. They could of straight up told us a month ago they didn’t want to work with us & return our deposit but they didn’t.

I’d mark it zero if I could. The most unprofessional company I have ever encountered. My first red flag was when they took a month to send a quote after we’d requested one. The second flag was that the quote was wrong. When we did receive their actual quote it included a fee that we hadn’t discussed. I assumed it was another error and sent my deposit. I didn’t feel good about it, but they were cheap and I’d already wasted so much time waiting for them. After they’d condescendingly assured me it was “standard”, I suggested we meet halfway. No response for three weeks. They cashed our deposit. We have a contract. I assumed we’d finalize the deal later, but at least they’d made a commitment. Three weeks later they email and say their fee is not negotiable. I suggest that we eliminate some extra staff so that they can have their fee. At this point I’m still trying to work with them. In the end they cancelled our contract because I had the audacity to question their methods.
I don’t know who they think they are, but I do know they should find another line of work. They set us back months by screwing around. I wouldn’t let them Host college improv. That’s how much I hate them.

Hiring Hire-a-Host was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding! At first I was a little concerned about shelling out the money for them, since I wasn't sure if I really needed their waitstaff services (my caterer did not provide these services). But knowing that it would save my family a big headache, I went with it. SO GLAD I DID!!! They were absolutely amazing! The staff were so professional, attentive and inconspicuous. They made my reception look like the finest of galas. I highly recommend Hire-a-Host!!

Hire a Host helped us from beginning to end with our wedding in Sept 2017. Gail was our wedding planner and helped with ideas, suggestions and kept things on track for us. She was patient with our process and helped us create a magical evening for us and our guests! Thank you Gail! We used Hire a Host for our wedding at Wabasha Street Caves in August and I could not have been more pleased!! Gail was so accommodating and understood my vision. She was extremely detailed oriented and really took the stress of setting up/taking down completely away! Her and her team made the day seamless and were very professional. I don't think I could have pulled off the day without the team at Hire a Host! Also, I was able to drop off all of our decorations before the wedding and pick them up after. I literally had NOTHING to deal with on the actual day. Unbelievable!!

Hire a Host was the best thing that could have happened to my wedding! Gail was so incredibly organized and patient with all of my questions, I wouldn't have been able to pull it off without her! She even got my wedding party in order and sent us down the aisle on time. They set up everything for the wedding, served, and cleaned up - they even helped with the decorations we brought from home. We used hire-a-host for our Sept. 4th wedding (2011) to help with our reception. I had prior experience with them at a trade show the company I worked for hosted. I expected the same service for our event as I experienced with them for a company event. My expectations were met and then some! They were prompt, neat in appearance, unbelievably courteous and above and beyond helpful! Took the stress off of us for clearing tables, serving dessert and making sure guests had plenty of water at their tables. We had one of them tend bar for us (just kegs and wine) and that went smoothly, we needed lots of ice and they even picked that up for us, saving us the hassle. Highly, highly recommend.
