Historic 1625 Tacoma Place is a wedding venue located in Tacoma, WA, just under an hour away from Seattle. Consisting of more than 6,000 square feet of event space, this building was designed and restored with to-be-weds in mind. With exposed wood vaulted ceilings and elegant slate floors, Historic 1625 Tacoma Place offers couples the serene, rustic ambience of a secluded lodge. When celebrating here, you and your soon-to-be spouse are welcome to exchange vows in the Ceremony Room. Complete with warm brick walls that can be adorned with romantic drapery, this event space offers a charming setting for “I do”s. After the ceremony, you and your partner can celebrate with loved ones in the Reception Room. The historic 1625 is an amazing venue. Lyndsey helped so much with the process of getting the building booked, finding a cater, and helped a ton on the day of the wedding. The venue itself is great, it looks amazing in the inside with wood and brick. The car room was also a massive hit with people as the older cars were a conversation starter. The venue staff were very professional and were amazing the whole night. If I ever needed a venue for any occasion I would definitely pick this one again.

Historic 1625 is a great venue! It is a wonderful space, it was really nice being able to do our ceremony and reception in one space; and indoors! They also have plenty of parking on site.
They also made everything very easy, they have the process down (shout out Lindsey). The coordinated rehearsal was very helpful. It was alsol helpful having two of their staff there on our wedding day. It was also easy finding vendors (dj, photog, caterer) who had worked there previously and were familiar with the space. Overall, highly recommend them and we were glad we chose them both because it was a great place to get married and they made the process so easy!
We have absolutely no regrets with having our wedding at Historic 1625. They’re professional, knowledgeable, and communicative; they stayed that way throughout the planning process and on our special day. The venue is beautiful and easy to decorate (Lends itself well to any design style, even a minimalist look since it is so beautiful inside and out). The layout of the venue helped to make the day flow — considering there’s space for your ceremony (And later dance floor), cocktail hour, dinner, and not to mention 2 suites for the wedding party to get ready in; as well as ample parking. I found the price point to be fair and the choice in caterers (And other vendors) who are experienced in the venue space to be more than sufficient. It’s also close to downtown hotels for the wedding party and guests to stay in. We couldn’t have been happier! It was a beautiful day and fun night.

Lindsey and the whole Historic 1625 team were a joy to work with. They were very responsive and organized. They also made sure our whole day went smoothly and we’re flexible with a couple of last minute changes we had to our schedule. I definitely recommend getting married here if it’s on your list. The inside of the venue is gorgeous and doesn’t feel cramped.

My Husband and I loved Historic 1625 Tacoma Place. The staff is very attentive and answered all of my questions. The price was very reasonable and make sure to book the car room for your happy hour. The space is big but didn't feel overwhelming, and fit my wedding guests of 145 just perfectly. The space was very easy to transform into my dream wedding (Winter Wedding). The staff was also very helpful and handled a security issue with grace and no on was the wiser. If you want a great wedding venue in the SeaTac area I can't recommend Historic 1625 enough!!
Beautiful venue! Lindsey and the rest of the staff are so friendly and helpful. It was the perfect place for my daughters wedding. We loved the separate rooms for the ceremony and the reception. And the cocktail hour space was also very unique, and our guests loved it!
This venue is GORGEOUS! It needs minimal decor etc. because the venue truly does speak for itself. Everyone loved it! We only had 85 guests so we did dancing, bar etc. all in the reception room where dinner is, larger weddings can use the ceremony room for dancing and the bar that is separate from the dinner space.
The staff were mostly great but once we brought our day of coordinator in it just seemed like their attitude changed. The day of the wedding they also would not allow our day of coordinator to wash our chargers in the kitchen etc. if you don’t have a wedding planner or day of coordinator the venue is great! If you do just keep in mind it seems like they don’t love collaboration with planners etc.

A beautiful venue with great staff! Our cocktail hour in the classic car room was a hit. Also, one of the few venues with AC.
This venue was amazing! The wedding went off without a hitch.
They have recommended food vendors, and Mama Stortini's was the vendor we chose. They were so organized and good, I never even talked to anyone with them, they just did their job.
I loved having the whole place rented out. We included the Car Room for the cocktail hour. Having a climate controlled area for a wedding in July was very important to us. Plenty of onsite parking. We received so many compliments on the space and how pretty everything was. We didn't even have to "over decorate" as the building was a statement all by itself. I would definitely recommend this venue.
This venue goes above and beyond making sure your day goes smoothly! From planning to day of, I was not disappointed with how everything turned out. My Fiancé and I got engaged Fall of '21, and started looking a venues almost instantly. We were significantly underwhelmed with the majority of spots we looked at, and then we stumbled upon Historic 1625.
What a treat it was to have our wedding here. We walked in (for our showing) completely unsure how the space would look, and it was amazing. Beautifully finished flooring with a gorgeous exposed ceiling. The Bridal Suite was great to get ready in (or so I have been told), and the suite for the guys was awesome. A bit far away from everything, but that was actually one of my favorite things about it.
We elected to have the appetizer/cocktail hour in with the cars as well, and that was a great choice. We didn't get to spend as much time in there as we wanted (because we were signing the marriage paperwork following the ceremony) but it was a huge hit and had plenty of space for all of our guests.
If you are looking for a venue that provides excellent amenities, service and prompt communication, call Historic as soon as you can. Best price and venue in the area IMO, it's not very often you get both of those at the same location. (Side note: Lindsey Ernst is incredible to work with at Historic 1625, should you get the chance)
This venue was AMAZING! I really have to give it up to the staff they were very helpful and accommodating from start to finish. This is a huge venue for a great price and there's different rooms for ceremony/ reception, dinner, and cocktail hour. We got a lot of compliments from our guests about how nice the flow was because of different spaces; no distractions for moving chairs etc. Also everyone LOVED the car room, it really made the wedding unique and fun. There's plenty of parking for guests and honestly it was just a dream wedding.
We can only speak highly of the Historic 1625. Having a venue that allowed for our ceremony to flow seamlessly into the reception was a top priority. The venue is designed perfectly for this and the staff are experts at execution. Not only is it ideal logistically, but aesthetically we found the brick and wood to be the perfect backdrop for the day. The groom and bridal party suites were incredibly convenient and well-furnished for party photos.
Back to logistics, the ample free parking was a giant perk of the venue, as it can be a large concern for Tacoma and Seattle events.
We did opt for the cocktail hour in the car room and the experience was well worth the money. It only added to the magic of the easy transitions allowing for the ceremony space to flip for the reception without us or our guests seeing it happen. Everyone loved seeing the cars, and we love the photos that came from it.
We were the first to take advantage of the Historic's new in-house Coordinator Laura. We adore her and would definitely recommend this added service to ensure that all transitions occur without you or a family member needing to do the work.
Not only is the venue top-tier, but their partnering vendors are as well. Key decoration pieces (arbor, wine barrels, backdrop) were conveniently available for purchase in-house, extra lighting and ceiling decorations were offered for a discounted rate from TLB Events, catering from the Historic's oldest partner Snuffins was the rave of every guest, and DJ Dave is an expert party MC - Dave and his photo booth really elevated the party!
We really feel we got the bang for our buck! From our first walk through with Lindsey, to getting to meet the owner Kristen at an open house, and working with Laura in the final month, we really felt well-communicated with and cared for by everyone.
We highly recommend this venue for a wedding or any other event that you want to go off without a hitch. We are so grateful to have had the best day of our lives at this special place.
Tacoma Historic 1625 is the most beautiful venue if you can afford it!
Lindsey was extremely communicative, professional, kind, flexible, & easy to work with. She got back to us promptly with emails, phone calls, etc.
I was disappointed that the decorations were a completely separate cost & a different vendor, but they too are easy to work with.
Every guest we invited to the wedding was taken back by the beautiful job they do & the charm of Historic 1625’s venue.
The changing rooms were comfortable & very large! I also liked how they had multiple bathrooms to access.
The only reason why I gave a four out of five stars is because everything, it seemed, was a separate cost, as paying Historic 1625 was simply for the venue, date, & 10 hours whereas other venues offer different packages. Maybe that was my fault for not researching enough or asking more questions.
Either way, I highly recommend Historic 1625 if you can afford it!!

Historic 1625 Tacoma Place was an absolute wonderful wedding venue! We were so lucky to have found the place and book it so last minute. We loved how central everything was at this venue and it was easily accessible. Everyone we worked with at this venue responded in a timely manner, were very helpful and kind, and ultimately helped us to create our fairy tale come true. We highly recommend this venue for any couple searching for a wedding venue!

Historic 1625 is a gorgeous canvas all on its own. There is minimal decoration required as the natural beauty of the site speaks for itself. Also note it has a Groom Suite which is rare in wedding venues. Lindsey was our point of contact here and worked with us tirelessly even when she said she would be away. Fair cost for what was offered. This was a full package including bridal suite, reception room, car package, and ceremony. There was a full kitchen in the back for the caterer to do their magic in. Laura was our other point of contact night of and had vast bartender experience to keep us at ease with our alcohol as we provided all of the supplies for it ourselves. The venue sent us our deposit back within a week of the wedding and we could not be happier with our decision to get married here. All of the photos turned out tip top, and we were blessed with outdoor weather permitting photos in the beautiful scapes surrounding the vene. Ample parking is also right n

We had our wedding here and it was wonderful! The staff was great and helpful, the vendors they contract with were as well. The only thing I would recommend early is to know the lighting is a little low so prep for most of your photos being outside. Overall, it was a great day and we'd choose them all over again
This venue is amazing when you're looking for a places that's well maintained and has value in what you pay. With the pandemic we have had to change our dates and they have been more than flexible with everything going on. They were more than happy to have me come back I don't know how many times to look at the space leading up to the wedding. If money wasn't an object I'd have my wedding all over again.

What a wonderful venue to get married in! The staff at Historic was amazing as you can imagine we had to reschedule due to COVID. They allowed us to reschedule and even use the venue on our original date for a small, intimate ceremony! They made everything so easy and Lindsey was AMAZING to work with. The venue is perfect for any size wedding and is GORGEOUS! Very little decorations are needed because of the natural beauty of the space! They have a car room that has old cars where you can do a cocktail hour. The space was so clean! I would highly recommend this venue :)
When my Husband and I first walked into Historic 1625 last year, we knew right away that this was the place we wanted to Celebrate our Wedding! We were planning our Wedding for November 2020 and Historic 1625 is a Beautiful Indoor Venue perfect for an Autumn day here in the PNW! From the spacious Ceremony and Reception rooms, warm brick walls, exposed wooden beam ceilings, and gorgeous slate flooring, we immediately pictured our perfect day in this space. The space also has two very nice Dressing Rooms with comfy couches to relax on and I loved that my Bridal Suite was complete with its very own private bathroom. Last year we were working with Kellie when we had to change our plans due to the pandemic. She and the team at Historic 1625 offered us a Complementary Date Change due to the unprecedented circumstances and we moved our Celebration to this year. We were Married last year in October in a very small, intimate Ceremony and we were so excited that we would still be able to Celebrate our Vow Renewal and first Anniversary at Historic 1625 this year. We worked with Lindsey to plan and coordinate our Event and the whole process was organized and efficient! On the day of the Event, the space was set up perfectly and the photos were stunning! We can not Thank the team at Historic 1625 enough for helping create such a special day of memories that we will cherish forever!
We absolutely loved working and planning our wedding at Historic. Such a beautiful and elegant venue and the staff is so helpful and professional. Lindsey helped us walk through the venue at least a couple times prior to the wedding which was very helpful for planning. We loved having the availability of ending our wedding at midnight vs 10pm like most venues. So thankful we found and booked Historic 1625!

It’s great that you can bring your own alcohol (with their preferred caterer.) Lots of parking around, and easy to find as well. Have to get the car show room for the cocktail hour, SO fun!!
We chose Historic 1625 twice in our family: my sister’s wedding several years ago, and then for my daughters wedding this month. Both of which I organized and planned. The facilities are beautiful and equipped with everything we needed for the most beautiful weddings. My sister’s wedding was small and intimate and my daughters was much bigger. Historic 1625 adapted so well to the different types of weddings. Decor was merely a cherry on top of an already stunning venue. All the vendors that support Historic were a breeze to work with and able to work together seamlessly. I recommend the added lighting, it was lovely and so helpful to our photographer. And, a bonus, it was just small jaunt to some of Tacoma’s most beautiful backdrops that offered some uniquely gorgeous wedding pictures.
Planning a wedding during a pandemic was not for the faint of heart, but the staff was so helpful and flexible with our ever changing plans. Both events were weekday weddings but we always had support in solving problems and getting creative to pull it off. Lindsey was absolutely awesome!

I (the bride) dreamed of getting married in downtown Tacoma ever since I went to school there. The unique architecture, and history made my heart so happy.
When I got engaged, I looked up wedding venues, and immediately knew Historic 1625 was the place I wanted to be married. Lindsey, and all the staff, was beyond helpful. We planned a wedding in 8 months, during a pandemic, and they made us feel like every other couple in history. They celebrated with us, and helped us in any way they could. Gave us suggestions, and their vendors were phenomenal. I never worried about whether or not it would be amazing. In the midst of planning a wedding, during a pandemic, it was a huge relief to be able to trust the venue, and the vendors so wholly.
My day was flawless. I couldn't imagine it going any better, and the team at Historic 1625, played a huge part in that.
The space was beautiful, and all of my guests fell in love with it.

This space is perfect if you’re looking for a ceremony and reception space all in one. Great flow from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner and back to dancing. The staff was great to work with and actively collaborated with our vendors to make everything run smoothly. I will admit I was a little concerned about the location as it’s a bit outside of downtown; but it was absolutely perfect. Would recommend this place to anyone and I would say the price was definitely reasonable for what you get and the level of care we felt from the staff.
We had an absolutely AMAZING experience having our wedding at 1625 Historic Tacoma Place. The staff were so helpful throughout the entire process of wedding planning. We had our wedding planned during the pandemic and they were accommodating in every aspect which took so much stress off of us! The venue is absolutely beautiful- it’s warm, inviting and I loved how professional everything was handled. I also loved having an indoor venue for our wedding even in the summer! We didn’t have to worry about unexpected weather changes and our guests we comfortable the entire evening. They also have ample parking! We chose historic 1625 to have our wedding before the whole covid mess came upon us and we where so excited to have our wedding here. The site is so beautiful and I loved the spaces for the bridal party/ groomsman to get ready. Although the ceremony was smaller than originally planned, it was perfect. The ceremony room had plenty of room for all of our guests and the layout didn't feel cramped.
We rented the car room for cocktail hour and our guests raved about the experience all night and weeks after. The only suggestion I would have for Historic would be to add a stand with information about the car. I think that would be super cool for the guests. Even without the info, it was extraordinary.
The groom's room was perfect for the men to get away and get ready and the bride's room was spacious enough for all of our supplies and accessories. (The private bathroom is also a huge plus)
I could go on and on about how wonderful our experience was, but you just have to see for yourself.

Historic needed very few decorations as the venue itself is just absolutely breathtaking. I look back at my pictures and am just in awe of how beautiful the exposed brick looks. The price is also incredibly reasonable for what you are getting and in comparison to other venues in the Puget Sound area. I would recommend Historic 1625 time and time again and an so grateful I was able to have my wedding there.
Historic 1625 is beyond beautiful and was more than we ever expected for our ceremony and reception venue. The building speaks for itself no matter the decor. What we loved most is that we didn't have to provide much decorations to create the atmosphere we were looking for. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at Historic. We highly recommend purchasing the Car Room for happy hour.
Our guests loved it and it provided a nice transition from ceremony to reception. Not only is the venue itself amazing, but we loved working with Kellie and the other staff at Historic 1625. Kellie was beyond helpful with our entire planning process. She not only helped with floor planning for the event but also helped with all the details of the time line and was present for our rehearsal to help us figure out the flow of what would work best with our specific family and wedding party circumstances. Kellie also helped us find other vendors that resulted in a lot of savings; adding to the look of our wedding, that we would not have opted for due to price. The staff always responded to our calls and emails quickly and were beyond helpful in answering any kind of questions we had about details or planning. Another great aspect of Historic 1625 is that the tables and chairs are included in the price, with set up and take down, and the venue has the capacity to hold a large or small guest count and still be equally as beautiful and comfortable. Onsite parking for free was also a bonus for us, our guests, and our vendors. We highly recommend Historic 1625 for weddings and any other events!
We booked Historic 1625 as our wedding venue a year in advanced because we loved how BEAUTIFUL, yet affordable it was and we could not have been any happier! The process from beginning to end was so smooth. My husband and I worked with Kellie. Not only did she make this whole process fun (do not get me wrong, there were times when it was TOUGH because that's normal wedding stuff, right?), but she was extremely helpful and quick to respond whenever we needed her. Her relationships with the vendors we worked with clearly showed us how great and qualified she was at her job. She definitely went above and beyond to make our wedding what it was...and it was freaking amazing!
The main things we were looking for in a venue were on-site parking, two separate bridal suites and room to accommodate a large party - Historic 1625 checked all of those requirements. For cocktail hour, we included the car garage package and that was a HIT with all of our guests. The classic cars were a nice touch as people were mingling in between the ceremony and reception. We fit 270+ people comfortably into one side for the reception, while allowing the other side to be open for the bar, dance floor and desserts. Thank goodness for so much space because we had a line of people for our ice cream cart, while having so much room for people to dance at the same time.
If we could have another wedding there, we would! Maybe for a future anniversary. I highly recommend this venue!!!
Perfect venue for our wedding. You can have both your ceremony & reception here! We had about 200 attending- Enough free parking & easy freeway access. Kelly was awesome to deal with- easy to get ahold of & very helpful! The wedding suites were nice and spacious to get ready in- also!
From the second that Erik and I walked into Historic 1625, we knew that it was the place where we wanted to celebrate the best day of our lives with our closest family and friends! The exposed brick, dramatic uplighting, and wooden beams set the tone for such a romantic ambiance. Aside from the fact that the venue was truly a stunning backdrop for such a special day, the convenience that it provided for our guests was incomparable. From the ample free parking, to no-corkage fee, to the 1am curfew!
Kellie was such an amazing point of contact, always willing to go above and beyond to help in the planning process. We couldn’t have asked for a better reception space or overall experience.

I looked high and low for MONTHS to find our perfect wedding venue and after touring Historic 1625 Tacoma Place (the only venue we toured in person) we were sold! I didn't feel I needed to look anywhere else because Historic provided EVERYTHING at such a reasonable price compared to their competitors. We loved the brick and wood and the collector car room, we didn't feel like we had to add much of anything for decor. And we came away with beautiful photos!
Their staff was so helpful in preparation and on day of. I wasn't bothered for a single thing on our special day! They made sure everything ran smoothly for us. The whole team (paired with Mama Stortini's catering) is top notch in the wedding game.
Also our rehearsal space fell through a week before the wedding and Kellie was so helpful in sending us a list of alternatives to check out as well!
I can't rave about this team and their space enough!!
We highly recommend Historic 1625 for a wedding venue. The venue is gorgeous and the staff was super helpful. Our wedding planning experience with them was wonderful and our wedding day could not have gone more perfectly. We loved working with Kellie. She was super responsive, had great recommendations and was an all around great person to work with. We hope to be able to use this venue again in our future!

I would recommend Historic 1625 over and over again. Kellie was wonderful to work with she is so responsive and always willing to help if you need anything or need ideas. The venue is truly beautiful and made for wonderful pictures it’s definitely an experience I’ll always remember!
From the moment my husband and I entered the building when we came to see the venue for the first time, we both knew it would be the perfect place for our wedding. I cannot say enough amazing things about Kellie and her team! The staff were amazingly responsive to each and every one of my many, many questions throughout the planning process, the support on the day of our wedding with set-up and moving locations was a life-saver, and the beauty of the building itself is almost indescribable! The wood and brick photographed so beautifully, and all of our guests raved about how pretty and spacious the venue was. We also added the classic car collection package for cocktail hour, which was a HUGE hit among our guests! 4 months later I am still hearing from friends at work on a weekly basis how cool that was. I would highly recommend Historic 1625 to anyone getting married, or holding an event of any kind. It truly made for the best day of our lives!

When I saw the pictures online of this venue, I fell in love, then going to see it in person, I knew it was perfect. The staff at Historic 1625 was very helpful from the beginning! Kellie was very helpful through the process and made it very easy to get planning done. This venue was absolutely perfect.
Historic 1625 is an amazing venue. The inside is beautiful and rustic. We booked the car package for our cocktail hour and the wedding guests really enjoyed it. We loved how much parking was available. Kellie was quick to respond to questions and made the whole process easy and stress free.
I couldn't be more grateful to have had our wedding at this BEAUTIFUL venue. The entire process from day 1 was so smooth, and all the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. We had a picture perfect day, our guest had the time of their lives and everything went perfectly to plan. SO grateful to have the Historic 1625 be a place full of timeless memories for me and my husband. Kellie is amazing! She has worked multiple weddings that I have attended and she even worked my brothers wedding! She is so accommodating. My brothers wedding had quite a few difficult personalities to manage, as most family weddings do, and Kellie breezed through it like a champ! My family loved her so much they invited her to the wedding as a guest! Great venue, great deal for the space, and great people managing it!
Everything from the first tour to our wedding day was handled with care and excellent service. We were in good hands throughout the whole process, and the team at Historic was very accommodating towards our schedules and requests. Bonus points for having great parking too!
I'd happily recommend Historic 1625 to anyone looking for a wedding venue, or any event space for that matter! I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Historic 1625. The venue is gorgeous! Historic 1625 has the space for absolutely anything you could want or need. With two spacious rooms for getting ready in, a ceremony room, the classic car area, and another gigantic room for a sit down dinner reception, transitions from the ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception/dance party went flawlessly. The exposed beams, brick walls, and slate flooring make for the most beautiful setting! We used the classic car room for our cocktail hour and our guests (and my husband) couldn't get enough of it! I was SO impressed by Kellie and her team. They were all incredibly responsive and insightful throughout the planning process. Kellie was always quick to address any questions I had and was so flexible with any changes/additions I wanted to make. Kellie was so accommodating and willing to let us come view the venue multiple times leading up to our big day. I felt like all of the staff at Historic 1625 went above and beyond. We had the wedding of our dreams in large part because of the flexibility, professionalism, and hard work of the staff at Historic 1625.
Historic 1625 is a beautiful location. Me an my now husband feel so blessed that we chose to have our wedding here. Everyone at Historic was helpful and made sure the day went flawlessly. 1625 Historic Place was the perfect place for my husband's and my wedding. We had been searching for a venue in the Kitsap, Pierce, and King County areas that could host 300 guests. Let me just say very few places can boast such numbers. When we viewed Historic the first time it was love at first site. The place had two large great rooms that could act as ceremony or reception (Lets be honest, we would all love to have a picturesque outdoor wedding but we live in Washington and if you think there is a single month that is free from rain you would be wrong). The outside does not cater to picture taking, but inside is beautiful. It is rustic, urban, and yet elegant and can be manipulated to whatever design your heart desires. The walls are old red brick, the ceilings are large exposed wood beams, and the floors are stone tiles. We ended up with about 230 guests and had 22 round 10 person tables placed in the typical reception room to the right with 2 long rectangle tables against the wall with windows for the head table. Even in my large dress I was able to maneuver between the tables to greet all of my guests. We used the classic car room downstairs for a cocktail hour which was a plus for both us and the guests. The room is super neat and during that hour transition we were able to do a few pictures, sign papers in the pretty and secluded brides room (with own personal bathroom, just saying, that dress...), and the people of historic completely flipped the ceremony room into a buffet line which following dinner turned into a very large dance floor. Historic has a great relationship with its recommended caterers and the events and transitions of the night went with ease. My husband greatly appreciated the groomsmen space. He liked being able to also get away before the ceremony started and the room I would say is even cooler than the brides space as it has large windows that overlook the old classic cars downstairs. Kellie was the primary point of reference and was very responsive in most situations. The night of the wedding she was off, but we had two other Historic representatives take her place and instantly came to great me and look for any instructions as soon as I came in through the doors. The venue as far as price goes was pretty fair considering all that we asked. It was an actual venue versus a hall so all transitions were completed by the staff versus having the ask family and friends for assistance. There is a difference in price for numbers greater than 200 to accommodate extra tables and chairs and the cocktail hour downstairs with the cars was extra. But compared to some of the other places that we looked at that could host 300 people this was a much better price point. All and all we truly enjoyed Historic and would recommend it to anyone who asks.
Historic 1625 was so easy to work with! They were incredibly accessible and transparent with us throughout our whole wedding journey. It is truly a stress-free venue. The on-site staff worked all night long to discreetly make sure everything was going smoothly, and coordinately flawlessly with their outstanding recommended vendors.
My husband and I started searching for a wedding venue in October 2017. We were driving home from looking at a venue further south that we ended up not liking and my husband happened to find Historic 1625 while on our way back home. We decided to stop by and immediately scheduled a walk through. Fast forward one year and we ended up celebrating the wedding of our dreams at Historic 1625! The last year has been a complete whirlwind with planning but Historic 1625 has been phenomenal to work with, specifically Kellie Blair. I swear I reached out to them at least once a week with the most ridiculous questions but they always promptly responded and were extremely helpful. I am so happy that we were able to share our special day with our family and friends at this venue. We still receive compliments on the venue and how perfect it worked for our big wedding! We will have memories that I will cherish for a lifetime!
My husband and I got married at Historic 1625 Tacoma Place in September 2018. It was wonderful! The venue team took such great care of us. Kellie was there to answer any question we had, big or small, leading up to the big day to ensure it went smooth sailing and just as we pictured. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and in close proximity to everything we needed the day of: Costco, grocery stores, hotels, outdoor sites for pictures, etc. I sincerely appreciated having an indoor venue. The weather is one thing you cannot control and on our wedding day it was so nice knowing we did not have to worry about a heatwave or downpour. One thing that was bitter-sweet is that the venue requires you use their preferred caterers. This meant we could not use a family friend who volunteered to cook for our wedding which would have saved money but it also would have meant a lot more do-it-yourself tasks added to the wedding day. The caterer provided absolutely everything and we did not have to worry at all about buying, preparing, transporting, or cleaning up the food, drinks, plates, silverware, tablecloths, wine glasses, etc. The caterers had everything covered which was such a relief for our families on the big day. There are train tracks behind the venue which made for a stunning backdrop for photos after the ceremony. Our wedding day couldn’t have gone any more smoothly and a large part of that had to do with Historic 1625 and their incredible staff! Kelly was such a joy to work with the entire year leading up to our wedding – she was extremely helpful and made wedding planning easy (never thought I would say that!) The venue speaks for itself – the exposed brick and high beams (plus fantastic car museum!) was everything we wanted. We continue to get countless compliments from our guests on Historic. On the venue itself: we knew we wanted a venue where we could have the ceremony and reception in the same place, but we didn't want to feel cramped or rushed as the rooms were switched over. Historic 1625 was perfect for this! We were also drawn to the natural beauty of the building. You truly don't need to spend a ton on decor when the rooms are beautiful all by themselves. I absolutely loved this venue and if I could do it all over, I wouldn't hesitate to book Historic 1625 again!
Oh my gosh, seriously the most amazing venue for my wedding! When I was looking for a venue I had something specific in mind, but then quickly realized how much things cost when it came to a wedding. When I first came to 1625 it wasn’t my ‘dream venue’ but something about it kept putting it in my mind while looking at other venues. I loved Kellie and had seen pictures on line which were beautiful! I figured it would do the job and booked it. Nothing can compare to how gorgeous it looked in person on our wedding day. It was more beautiful than I thought it could be, and the staff was amazing! With everything set up it looked stunning and the guests were raving about how cool of a space this was! The car package won over all of our guests and was a great place for cocktail hour! I loved how open the space was and that the beautiful ceremony space transformed into our super fun reception dance floor! I am so happy I went with 1625 because it ended up being my dream venue and more than I could have imagined!
Kellie and her team did an amazing job with our wedding we felt so special the whole day was magic! I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive or prepared venue, we had over 280 guests and it was still very comfortable, we got so many compliments on the beauty of the venue and location. Plenty of parking for everyone which was amazing! They were very kind to all of our guests and help iron the bumps in the road when they came up throughout the day! So happy we chose to host our ceremony & reception at Historic 1625! The venue is gorgeous, unique, and very memorable. Our guests will remember cocktail hour in the classic car showroom for a long time. The space is a perfect mix of having enough style that you don't need to go crazy on adding decor/putting 'lipstick on a pig' (which will save you time + money), but still neutral enough that the space will work with the vision that you have for your day. Kellie was very responsive, great with answering questions big or small, and on top of timelines to ensure that we had everything we needed for the perfect day. I would choose them again for our wedding in a heartbeat.
We loved having our wedding reception at Historic 1625! It is very close to where we live and every time we drive by the beautiful red brick building we get a big smile on our faces. It had everything we wanted when looking for a venue: it was near central Tacoma, so most of our guests didn’t need to travel, indoors so we could have a May wedding in the rainy PNW, tons of room, very easy and flexible parking, great price point, and very accommodating and flexible with how we wanted to have our wedding. We worked a lot with Kellie, an assistant manager there, and she was extremely helpful at answering any questions or concerns we had, being available to view the venue with our wedding planner when we needed to and giving helpful suggestions on vendors and other items when needed; all with very quick turnaround time. Most of all, after looking at several venues in the area it was the first one that made my wife smile from ear to ear the moment we walked in so I knew it was the right place for us right away!
I got married at Historic on 3/24/18 and it was perfect!!!! Kellie, and everyone there, was so helpful throughout the entire process! I was able to come back a time or two to go over everything with them and we emailed throughout the process and they were always helpful. The day of the wedding was amazing. If anything went wrong, they never let me know it! It was absolutely beautiful and having the cocktail hour downstairs (with the cars) was a huge hit! I'm so thankful for the experience I had with them for my wedding!

Historic 1625 is certainly a beautiful venue for our wedding. That said, there's 2 reasons why we wouldn't rent it again.
Major: 4 cars of our guests were broken into (windows smashed) and contents stolen during our wedding ceremony while the cars were parked in Historic 1625's parking lot. This happened in broad daylight - around 6pm on a summer evening. Few things are more uncomfortable than having to announce that during the reception! It's a mar on our special day that remains with us today. According to the venue, we haven't been the only wedding to have this happen. Given that all 4 parties experienced financial loss, personal loss and inconvenience (not fun for those who had to drive 2 hours home on the freeway with no window!), we looked to partner with Historic 1625 in taking a step in making those guests whole. We asked Historic 1625 to refund us $500 so that we may pool this with $500 from our own pocket - for a total of $1000. This would have allowed us to provide $250 to each of the parties (one of which experienced over $1200 in losses). $500 would have been just 12% of the $4000+ we paid them, but they weren't willing to provide any refund. While our contract with Historic 1625 stated they were not responsible for security or theft, refunding us 12% would be - in our opinion - the right thing to do.
Minor: We rented extra tables and chairs, for a cost of $158. While Historic 1625 already had $3800 from us, they wouldn't let us bring the check for the final $158 the day of the ceremony but rather required it in advance. That seemed unnecessarily rigid and petty. I mailed the check to them, but they don't get mail on Saturdays. So I had to break from our pre-wedding festivities to trek to the venue to settle our $158 outstanding balance. Paying over the phone with a credit card is subject to a steep 4% fee. I realize the processing fee would have only been $6 :) but it's the principle of the matter that bothered me.

ake to prevent such things including security cameras on the venue and lights in our parking lots. We do everything in our control to make weddings here perfect and to help when things go wrong – even if they are outside our control like this. And that night was no exception- we did what we could to alleviate the stress including calling the police and vacuuming out any glass from the cars. However, we simply cannot make payments to people for things over which we have no control. Our insurance won’t cover that. We are sorry that Frank’s day was marred by this random event. Everyone should have a perfect day and we are sorry his wasn’t.
Frank also commented on our process for taking payments, it’s our experience that it is best not to bother the wedding couple for pa
