She was such a pleasure to work with, so kind, organized, and attentive. She even helped with clean-up at the end of the night, which we appreciated more than she knows.

Located in Canton, OH, the Historic Onesto Event Center is a stunning wedding venue. With this property's blend of history and elegant decor, the stage is set for an unforgettable day. Breathtaking Art Deco styling is featured throughout, from a sweeping marble staircase to soaring cathedral ceilings. Ceremonies and receptions can be held here, as well as elopements and vow renewals.
The Onesto Hotel first opened in 1930 and was owned by hotelier Francis A. Onesto. He wanted to create a luxurious space in downtown Canton and spared no expense. The design was inspired by the Italian Renaissance with a dash of the signature stylings of the 1930s. The lobby's original crystal chandelier illuminates marble benches and terrazzo floors. It hosted lots of notable guests, from Marilyn Monroe to President John F. Kennedy. After lying vacant for several decades, the Historic Onesto Event Center underwent extensive restoration works and reopened in 2014. The original features for polished and returned to their former glory, ready to host your magical day.
When your loved ones enter the Historic Onesto Event Center, they enter the Grand Lobby through the hotel's original revolving doors. Large windows fill the space with natural light, illuminating the beautiful relief details on the ceiling. The lobby is available for cocktail receptions and gives guests a setting to mingle and catch up. The Grand Ballroom, meanwhile, welcomes ceremonies and receptions. It comfortably accommodates up to 250 guests in a range of setups. Here, crystal chandeliers and mahogany floors continue the elaborate decor of the hotel. Before starting your day, there is a private get-ready space where you and your party can prepare for the day. The staff is happy to take care of welcoming your loved ones and help the day run smoothly by working to your timeline. The downtown setting of the hotel makes it a convenient, as well as decadent, space to celebrate your love.

Lynae brings a passion for story and design to your special moments held at the Onesto Event Center and the Old Stone Chapel. Lynae’s flair for event planning is rooted in fashion and design, having earned a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Kent State University.
“The first time I set foot in the Onesto I could feel that it had a real story,” says Lynae. “The history here is so rich. I then learned that everything possible was done to restore this old hotel to its original state which gives it such a beautiful nostalgia.”
She recognizes that every event tells a story, too – whether it’s a wedding, business event or other celebration.
Lynae appreciates the facilities and their location. She enjoys giving tours to show guests the impressive details. “The lobby is majestic and breathtaking, while the bridal suites have such a special historic feel,” she says. “The views of downtown Canton from the suites are something that can’t be seen from anywhere else.”

were shown around the building by Lynae who was fantastic and told us more about the history and told us everything the venue offered wedding wise. We never felt any pressure from her and she was so upfront and honest with us. After booking we became acquainted with Jerrica, the event manager, who helped us in so many ways. Her expertise and attention to detail is second to none. She was instrumental in helping us plan the wedding of our dreams and was such a joy to work with. She answered every question we had along the way and made all of our request happen. The whole Onesto team took us in and made us feel like family. We cannot recommend this venue enough and our guest are still raving about how incredible The Onesto is.

knowledgeable- they provided a lot of insight and guidance regarding planning, set up, logistics, etc that we would not have thought of otherwise. They were so organized and friendly, they made planning the details of our wedding seamless and much less intimidating.
The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and unique. We had our ceremony in the Old Stone Chapel which was lovely and convenient. It is also located very close to other vendors so it would be easy to plan the whole wedding with local vendors.
Overall, I can't say enough good things about Onesto. Everything came together so nicely, and we are so glad we decided to have our wedding here!

o, the entire process was efficient, seamless and stress free. Aside from being the most beautiful and elegant venue, Lynae and Jerrica are truly the best of the best. Coming from an event planning background, I have worked with several venue coordinators and there is no one better than the team at the Onesto. I truly cannot recommend the Onesto and their team more to any bride who wants and elegant and logistically sound wedding day. sibly do them justice. If you're thinking the pictures look great, you're right, but you HAVE to go see it in person -- it is breathtaking. The architecture is stunning with marble and molded plaster. This place looks like something out of a fairytale castle. This isn't just a pretty building, though: it also has a lot of modern conveniences and cool perks like an attached parking garage (with electric car chargers!) and a few luxury suites on site -- we actually stayed here on our wedding night! I would be remiss if I didn't mention the most important "perk" this venue offers -- their great staff. We loved working with Jerrica who is both creative and has such a great head on her shoulders for organization. Our event was COVIDelayed, and she was always responsive and helpful, but especially stepped up when our wedding coordinator completely ghosted us on our wedding day. We are so grateful to the entire team at the Onesto and highly recommend this venue. We had so many compliments from our guests, too. I can't rave enough about this place.

ocktail hour being in the lobby while the room was flipped for the reception. The lobby was perfect for the amount of guests we had, roughly about 170. There was enough room for everyone to mingle and be at an arm's length. Our guests were in awe at how beautiful the room looked. The room flip was turned over in about an hour or so, and all I have to say is they definitely worked their magic! The staff who helped Jerrica, Heidi, Lynae are AMAZING!! The ballroom was everything I had envisioned. They let my Husband and I take a moment to see the room without everyone in it, it really let us soak in the moment and to praise how beautiful the room looked. The Reception part was so smooth, the dinner buffet was quick and efficient. The bartenders were phenomenal, they were on it when it came to remembering guests drink orders. They were polite, fun, happy, everyone raved about the hospitality and the quality of it. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful indoor venue, with classy and charm. You will feel like kings and queens with the hospitality. It truly was everything we wanted, romantic and overall stunning. Our guests left that wedding saying this was the most gorgeous wedding we have ever been to and wouldn't have changed a single thing about it.

Lynae, Jerrica, Heidi, Colette, all were truly spectacular and made the day a breeze. I was not worried about anything that had them involved. Heidi & Jerrica were loved by everyone at the reception. Colette really helped keep everyone in line at the ceremony and dealt with a bunch of crazy groomsmen.
The way they all helped with vendors and made sure everything was perfect for me without having to ask or stress myself out made the day wonderful.
I would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone. Everyone truly makes you feel like a Queen on your big day. ❤️

ive, and flexible at every turn of the day. Actually, moreso with all of the planning, too! We had a couple of small hiccups throughout the day (that had nothing to do with the venue and were mostly the fault of having an 18 person bridal party that did not communicate well lol) but these women handled everything perfectly. Jerrica personally took sunset rooftop photos for us when we had a miscommunication with the photographer. Have you ever even heard of a wedding venue coordinator that trudged through the snow to get "the shot" with the sunset on her personal cell phone? They are now out FAVORITE wedding photos so far. Lynae made us feel so welcome and treated us like royalty throughout all of the planning process. Her constant support made everything feel so smooth and as if whatever happens, they could handle it for us. Heidi and I could be best friends in real life; she was the PERFECT amount of tough love to the bridal party when necessary, flexible and willing to decorate the chapel for me when I ran out of time (and it looked AMAZING), and texted back in seconds every time we needed her to. Colette is no nonsense "this is your day, what can I do to make it better than your wildest dreams" and did everything in her power to rectify hiccups we encountered. These women are a force to be reckoned with and I am so grateful to each and every one of them for all that they did for us to make our wedding a wild success. If you've read this far, just book them!!!

O accomodating, so understanding, & most of all, so encouraging. Jerrica eased my stress & anxieties in ways that she probably doesn't even know about, but her heart is what stood out from the rest. As soon as Corey & I stepped foot into the venue, we knew it was where we were meant to be married. And once meeting Jerrica, I knew that she would have my back until the day of, & I was not wrong. Every single part of our wedding day went smoothly, with limited stress, outside of the normal nerves. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place, or people, to celebrate the most memorable moment of our lives. We would recommend this venue to anyone & everyone 💛

d for the reception. The girls that run the venue are AMAZING.
We also rented both rooms they offer to get ready in and the beauty and size of the rooms is hard to describe. Our makeup artists, hair stylists, photographers and videographer couldn’t believe how much space we had to move around and get ready. It made the day so stress-free being able to just chill at the venue and have everyone (including the groom and groomsmen) on site. The rooms are uniquely placed so that it’s almost difficult to run into each other at any point while getting ready. We also chose to stay in one of the rooms the night of the wedding which was awesome. My girls and I stayed the night before the wedding and it was so fun to have the space to finish up anything we needed. Ok enough about the rooms and back to the actual wedding…
The venue is so beautiful on its own that very little is needed for the ceremony and cocktail hour decor. Guests walk in to a pretty stairwell and enter into the lobby which has ornate ceilings that make you just feel the history of the building immediately. The ballroom is a good size for plenty of tables and a large dance floor. Now onto the staff…
I can’t say enough about how awesome the staff here was to us. When we met the month before the wedding if I hadn’t thought of something, they had. It is clear when you meet with them that they know what they’re doing. They are so on top of everything and help make sure your day goes exactly as you worked so hard to plan. They aren’t your wedding planner or coordinator, but they do help a lot where it’s needed and appropriate for them to help!
I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful indoor venue with a little history. I felt like it was the perfect romantic setting for our wedding and if I had to do it all over, I wouldn’t change a thing!

Throughout our year of planning, they were organized and great with communicating back and forth with us. I felt like Jerrica became more my friend throughout our time. By the wedding day, I was able to text her with quick questions and it was so helpful. The suites alone are absolutely beautiful as well. Perfect for getting ready on the wedding day. Lastly, the Onesto itself is honestly so breathtakingly beautiful. I had minimal decorations because the beauty of the building was plenty on its own. Thank you Jerrica and Lynae for making my dream wedding come to life. Simply elegant, classy, and timeless.

They were always responsive and available to answer questions and became our biggest advocates when one of our vendors proved to be challenging two weeks before the wedding. During our event the team was incredibly attentive and made sure everything went off without a hitch. To tell you just how above and beyond they go - during photographs I had a staff member literally take a bobby pin out of her hair to help secure my veil! The venue itself is stunning and full of so much character. The bridal suites offered are very clean and spacious--it was great for both the gentlemen and ladies to get ready in the morning. If you are looking for a truly stunning event in the heart of downtown Canton, look no further than the Onesto.

sto, and managed by the Onesto. The Onesto space is so beautiful and unique. It is the perfect location for a wedding with a classy, elegant, or Gatsby-era theme. The space is so beautiful on it's own that it doesn't require much decorating. In addition to the beautiful lobby for the cocktail hour and bar, as well as the the big ballroom for the reception, another awesome benefit of the Onesto is being able to stay in the suites the night before and/or after the wedding, as well as using them for getting ready. The suites are so beautiful, and perfect for having the bridal party get ready in. It's so convenient being able to get ready at the location of the reception, with the wedding being just 2 blocks away. At the end of the night, we didn't have to worry about taking down decorations or loading up wedding presents, because the Onesto staff just put them in the suites for us to get to the next day. Speaking of the staff, one of the other amazing benefits of having a wedding through the Onesto is the amazing event coordinator, Jerrica, and her assistant Lynae. Jerrica and Lynae helped us think through all of the details of our wedding, and saw that we had a seamless, wonderful day. When we wanted to do a unique idea for our ceremony, they helped us take the time to think it all through and make a game plan to make it happen. They also have your back from the day you sign the contract. Throughout the wedding planning process, we often found ourselves turning to Jerrica for advice, which she was more than happy to give. I can't imagine a better place or staff to have a wedding reception with in the Canton area.

at's even better are the accommodations and staff who made the entire wedding planning experience seamless. The two onsite bridal suites had more than everything we could have needed and were perfect for photos and getting ready (I had 11 bridesmaids in one suite and my husband had 9 groomsmen in the other, and there was PLENTY of space for all of us). I had a small break in between my ceremony and reception, and being in the epicenter of downtown Canton meant that my guests could spend that hour at a huge offering of bars, restaurants or coffee shops that were all a block or two away. We were able to have two bars so I knew our guests wouldn’t be standing in line forever and could get right back on the dance floor. There’s free parking in the parking deck. They have champagne walls that my guests were obsessed with. All of these little things (and so much more) added up into this experience of a lifetime… and with Jerrica and Lynae running everything, you really couldn’t ask for more. Between helping us plan our layouts and schedule to the smallest detail, taking control the day of the wedding and making sure everything ran perfectly and just being awesome people to be around, there are no words for how invaluable they are! Weeks after the wedding, we’re still so in awe of our event at the Onesto and wish we could do it all over again!

itive pricing; however, we soon learned that the staff and their expertise made all the difference; you don't need to hire a Wedding Planner or cause yourself anxiety with the organization and professionalism of Jerrica and Lynae. We worked from their list of suggested vendors and were pleased both with their quality and with how well the staff coordinated with the vendors. We utilized the option to rent the bridal suite and the groomsmen suite (both beautiful, well-appointed spaces) for the wedding party to get ready for the ceremony. The convenience of the suites, the church and of course the stunning event center made for a seamless event for our guests. Thank you, Onesto staff, for making our daughter and new son-in-law's weekend magical.

ng through the gorgeous stained glass, the photo opportunities began in the urban alley with the couple greeting guests in a bubble and wand receiving line.
The sublime Onesto vestibule greeted guests with breathtaking ornate architecture. The ballroom beautifully hosted the meal and dancing. Our family and friends loved each venue.
Jerrica and Lynae ensured the ceremony and reception ran smoothly, with no worries. They were awesome, always sharing their positive attitude, and handling every detail. They made certain we had a memorable day. Thank you.

We booked an 84 person event in the lobby with the Onesto. On Nov 17, the state of Ohio enacted large gathering restrictions which the event center interpreted in a way which did n...
ot allow us to have our event according to the original contract signed (they enacted a 50 person max, 4-6 guests per table in order to have COVID-19 safe event, which did not allow our full guest list or allow us to use the space we had originally booked). The state restrictions did not allow a cocktail hour and meals needed to be plated and served. Upon request to cancel, the venue attempted to upsell us to another event at a later date that was 40% more expensive. We did not accept this request. Our security deposit was not returned despite force majeure section of contract citing government restrictions as cause for responsible parties not being liable for non performance and despite the fact that the majority of the restrictions cited were their own interpretation of state restrictions. They do not agree on their non-performance because "They could have still had a non safe COVID-19 event." Basically, our options were have a non-safe COVID-19 event so as to adhere to the conditions of the original contract, book a different date but not at an equal value, or cancel and have our deposit taken. After a phone call attempting to be diplomatic, the Director of Operations said they were keeping our deposit and further threatened to charge us for the full rate of the contract (suddenly held us to the letter of the law when it was convenient for them, despite hand waving through the contract through out our time working together). They felt they had offered more than enough reasonable alternatives. We obviously did not want that and therefore conceded our deposit.
Many venues are hand waving while they sell contracts by claiming that in the event that COVID-19 causes you to have to cancel your event, they will refund you. However, legalistically this claim is not really enforceable as there is a lot of grey area as to what is enough to cause a cancellation.
This was certainly the case with us and the Onesto. As is usually the case, the devil is in the details.
Best of luck to all of the brides out there fighting to get their deposits back and to all of the businesses operating off of those deposits.

g in these conditions of Covid-19. This entire year has been difficult to endure. Knowing these conditions and knowing that they could be ever changing, you decided to book a January 9, 2021 wedding on October 23, 2020. While hind sight is always clearer, we had a lot more flexibility per the state in October than we do now. State restrictions got much tighter just before the Thanksgiving holiday as Covid-19 cases spiked. It is our responsibility as a venue to follow these guidelines to keep our staff, as well as, you and all of your guests safe and healthy. It is at this time that we gave you the options to move into our ballroom (a larger space) with no additional cost to be able to host the guest count of your choosing safely or push your wedding date back to a mutually agreed upon date. Unfortunately, neither of these options seemed to suite you. While we understand your request to cancel, our venue is still open and operating, therefore, I could not return your non-refundable deposit. I apologize if you felt "threatened" in any way when I stated that we would waive the opportunity to collect the full venue rental amount per our cancellation policy in your signed contract. I apologize that we could not come to a mutual agreement and wish you all the best in all of your future endeavors.

the inside. The bridal suite was GREAT to stay in - includes a bedroom with tv in bedroom and spit to hang your dress, a full kitchen so you can store snacks so you don’t forget to eat and drink before your wedding, dining table, small lounge/living room - it was great for getting ready in. Jerrica is amazing and no matter what concerns you may bring up regarding planning your wedding, she is helpful and calming to work with. I am so glad we chose The Onesto for our wedding!

the place even more! Jerrica was super helpful and met with us several times throughout wedding planning. Once it got to the day of, she went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. She helped set up the room just as we wanted and handled all of the behind-the-scenes stuff for us. We didn't lift a finger! Jerrica was so nice and was a pleasure to work with. We also had the venue during Christmas and the lobby was decorated with Christmas decorations. It looked incredible! We loved the Onesto and highly recommend it. It made our pictures even more beautiful and the night even more perfect.

lly is great at what she does and goes the extra mile to make sure the bride does not have to worry about anything. I felt very comfortable reaching out to her on her personal cell anytime I needed her throughout the process and she was there for ANYTHING the day of. Thankful to have had someone like that there when I was a little stressed! My guests loved the venue and had such a great time. Very fairly priced!.
