Smithonia fulfilled every dream I had ever had about my wedding. It was exactly what I wanted. Pam was around to help the whole day, especially because it was December and it was cold so she helped with heaters. She was also especially responsive and helpful via email with any questions or requests we had -- even though my husband and I live out of state and were not able to visit in person very often, we still had all of our questions answered. It was the most beautiful venue. I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else.
Smithonia Farm was the perfect place for our wedding! Pam was incredible to work with. She truly went above and beyond for us, and we could tell that she really cared about every detail of our day. The building itself is simply stunning and made the perfect space for our wedding day. We highly recommend Smithonia Farm!
We fell in love with Smithonia Farm the minute we arrived. The owner, Pam, was so classy and professional and her helpful, friendly nature immediately put us at ease. She helped us find some of the best vendors in the area and also ensured that the space was set up perfectly on the big day. Our wedding was the most beautiful wedding either of us had ever been to and definitely exceeded all of our exceptions. We highly recommend Smithonia Farm and Pam; you won't regret it!
When my husband and I walked into Smithonia, we instantly knew it was where we wanted to get married. My favorite thing about Smithonia was how beautifully simple it was. Pam is amazing to work with. You can really tell how much love she has for Smithonia, and it shows in her work.
This location is beyond amazing. We had our wedding here at the beginning of November and it was everything and more that I could have ever wanted. It is BEAUTIFUL inside the venue and outside on the grounds and allows for some absolutely stunning pictures. We had guests from all over the US and weeks later they are still gushing to us about how beautiful the wedding and the venue were. Pam, the owner, is incredible and works to ensure that everything you have planned is actually going to look/work out the way you wanted. I can't recommend this venue enough!
The most perfect venue. After visiting Smtihonia Farm, I didn't even want to tour another venue. I knew I wanted to get married at Smithonia.
The day was so amazing & Pam (the owner) was so helpful. She was always there to give a helping hand or make sure people knew what they were supposed to be doing.
The venue is so beautiful we couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else!
Once you see Historic Smithonia Farm, it will be hard to convince your heart to go elsewhere. HSF is the prettiest venue around and has such raw beauty that spending money on elaborate florals, decorations and rentals really isn't necessary. After growing up in Athens, I had seen the farm used for a variety of things over the years and was so happy when it was finally used as a wedding venue (I mean, a place this beautiful should be photographed as much as possible!) When my fiancee and I decided to head back to my hometown for the big day, we knew this was the right fit. After meeting Pam and discovering a handful of small world connections, it felt even more special to get to host our wedding at Historic Smithonia. From being flexible with meetings to helping with layout, rentals, etc. Pam & Dink couldn't have been sweeter or better to work with! The venue is a splurge, but one that is so worth it! Our day was beautiful thanks to this gorgeous property and the people that have helped to restore it!
Picking this venue was a no brainer! With it's beauty, flexibility(having so many different options of space) and family history(my Great Great Grandfather was the engineer and overseer of the farm in the 1800s), Historic Smithonia farm was the place I had always dreamed of! We had our rehearsal dinner there as well as the wedding. I have worked with the owner, Pam, in the past as I used to be in the wedding business and knew she was great! Pam was very flexible with my schedule and when I could meet as my schedule was crazy planning other peoples weddings. She was accommodating to our needs and the weekend was seamless. The location is just close enough to Athens where all of my guests stayed. We had buses for guests staying in Athens but of course there is plenty of parking for those who rather drive themselves. It was the perfect venue and I couldn't have asked for anything better!
I will start by saying that Smithonia Farm is absolutely gorgeous. I could not have imagined a more perfect setting for our fall wedding. Overall, I had a great experience with this venue, and I would use them again. Ability to bring your own alcohol and vendor freedom were fantastic. My critiques are relatively minor. The point of contact with the venue changed mid-stream, and the new contact person was difficult to get in touch with. I often had to email several times over a course of weeks to get a response. Additionally, much of the stuff that I had discussed with the first point of contact was not honored, so I would recommend that you get each and every detail in writing. Finally, the owner kind of hovers on your wedding day. I felt as if she thought we were going to damage/steal from the venue, and she was always kind of lurking the in the background throughout the day. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was mildly frustrating. Finally, at the end of the night, she made my family take the trash with them rather than using the onsite dumpster. This was a bit perplexing. Overall, though, it was a fantastic experience.
